Throwback Thursday: Stitched Duo 1

Pretty Pink Posh

Hello!  Welcome back to another Throwback Thursday!  This feature gives me a chance to revisit some of the first dies Pretty Pink Posh released.  This month, I’m sharing a card using the first Pretty Pink Posh die that was released……Stitched Duo 1.  This die led the way for other very popular dies including Stitched Duo 2 and Stitched Duo 3.

Pretty Pink Posh

I tried really hard to come up with a “new” use for this die but I kept coming back to a traditional shaker card.  Stitched Duo 1 is the PERFECT die set for a cute “window” shaker.  Let’s see……..

Pretty Pink Posh

I started with blending Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with a sponge applicator onto a top folding notecard.  I blended ink until I had the look and darkness I wanted.  Because I wanted a finished edge, I then trimmed my notecard just a bit on either side to get rid of the dark blending on the edges.  My balloon is from Darling Friends, the exclusive set PPP designed for Simon Says Stamp, was colored with Copics and the tiny bunny was added with foam adhesive.  Oh…..can’t forget to embellish with Sparkling Clear 4mm Sequins!

Pretty Pink Posh Pretty Pink Posh

Now, for the shaker!  I started with 2 die cut tags……1 left as a tag and the other diecut with the “windows”.  To the tag, I blended more Tumbled Glass Distress Ink until it matched my notecard. This becomes the “backer” for my shaker as I adhered foam adhesive to encase my Iridescent Star Confetti.  After stamping my sentiment to the “window” tag, I added it to my shaker by simply lining it up with the backer.  Now my shaker can be added anywhere to my card!  I love creating shaker cards using this technique as I can play around with my layout more.

My card was assembled and for some finishing last touches, I added the clouds from the Rainy Days coordinating dies with 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Tutorial: Flat Shaker Card

Hello and Happy Friday!

I’m so excited to have Liz here on the blog sharing a tutorial on how to create easy shaker cards using the new Mini Heart Confetti! No need for fun foam or thick mounting tape with this tutorial…

DSC_0197 Valentine Flat Shaker Upright pic

I do love this time of the year, and as Valentine’s Day approaches, I thought what better way to send to family and friends, a small card filled with adorable mini hearts in the form of a flat shaker so that I could easily mail out.

Here, I used this adorable little penguin and bear from the Winter Friends stamp set along with adding a tiny bow on each one. I must say, this set is one of my favorites and can be used all year round. Not just for Christmas.

DSC_0221 Valentine flat shaker

These are so much fun to make and go quickly for creating several of them. You won’t want to stop with just one. Also, it’s so much fun to play with these adorable Mini Heart Confetti in Iridescent and Gold colors. Here is a little tutorial along with measurements.

DSC_0240 step one

Step one: Cut a piece of card stock A2 size ( 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and score in the middle at 2 3/4″

Step Two: Cut a smaller piece of cardstock ( 2 1/2 ” x 4″) that will be used for decorating

DSC_0173 Step two

Step Three: Punch out a heart on the right hand side or desired area using a punch or die

Step Four:  Next, I embossed the blue rectangle using We R Memory folder called Chain and added this adorable scallop border from the Stitched Border 1 die collection from Pretty Pink Posh and adhered it to the cardstock.

DSC_0175 Step three

Step Five: Since I needed to punch out another heart directly on the card base, I used the blue cardstock to help me align where I needed to punch out the heart. Keep in mind, do not glue it down, but instead use it as a placement to help you.

DSC_0182 step four

As you can see, now you have the card base with the heart punched out along with the smaller blue card stock as well.

DSC_0188 step five

Step Six: Add a piece of acetate on top of the heart to cover it. Here, I cut approximately 2 3/4″ x 2 rectangle.

DSC_0190 step six

Step Seven: Now add adhesive on top of the acetate starting around the entire heart, than along the sides of acetate. Think like you were adding foam mount and creating a wall around the heart to keep the sequins in. Here, I added in these adorable Mini Hearts from Pretty Pink Posh in Iridescent and Silver which I love how it sparkles.

DSC_0197 Bunny upright blue color

Final Step: Add the smaller card stock on top of the card base aligning it with the heart shape and finish decorating. Here I used a sentiment from the Sending and Wishing set from Simon Says Stamp along with this adorable bunny from the Holiday Pals set from Pretty Pink Posh. Again, this set is not just for Christmas as you can see.

Don’t want to forget, I also added in these adorable little mini envelopes from the Birdie Notes set (releasing in March) where I also used the little tiny heart it came with.border

If you want another great Valentine post, Liz created an additional tutorial over on her blog for a candy treat holder. It’s absolutely darling and uses the same stamps from this post! Read her post HERE.

Valentine Theme Week- Day 4

valentinethemeweek

Hello friends!

Nichol here and today I’m sharing a Valentine themed card (that could actually be used anytime) showcasing Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies. I used the adorable PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp with my favorite Scallop Squares Dies to “frame up” the super cute pink chick!

PPP_ValentineWeekJustANote1

To create my card I die cut a piece of watercolor cardstock using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Die. I love this die because it’s exactly the same size as the Scallop Square Die so it makes the perfect backing if you’re building up frames with dimension. I stamped the chick and envelope from the PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp Set using Antique Linen Distress Ink and then I watercolored the images using the following Distress Markers and a paintbrush dipped in water:

[ DISTRESS MARKERS COLORS: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon ]

PPP_ValentineWeekJustANote2

Once the images were watercolored, I drew in the eyes with a black marker. I added “sky” with the Tumbled Glass Distress Marker and Peacock Feathers Distress Marker. I added a bit of shadow or ground with the Pumice Stone Distress Marker. When the panel was completely dry (I hit it with a heat tool to dry it quickly) I stamped the greeting from the PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink and then I stamped a scattering of hearts using Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Candied Apple Distress Inks.

I die cut frames from smooth white cardstock usign the PPP Scallop Squares Dies and Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Squares Stackables Dies. I die cut these again from Fun Foam and layered the frames on the watercolored panel to give the image the look of being “framed up”. Lastly, I attached the frame to a square 4.25″ card.border

If you have missed any of the previous posts, click on the photos below to see the post from that day. There’s so much gorgeous and LOVE-ly talent by the team!

Also, if you missed yesterday’s post, I shared that very soon I’ll have a challenge where YOU can share your Valentine creations. Stay tuned!

Valentine Theme Week- Day 3

valentinethemeweek

Hello, friends!

Today we have Liz joining us for a post full of Valentine inspiration. She always creates the most darling cards and lately, she has been a storm of Valentine goodness to share with you all.

DSC_0190 bunny blog

I can’t get enough of these new Scallop Square Frames, so I kept the dies together and ran it through the die cutting machine using 2 different colors along with a silver glitter card stock. It’s a great way to interchange different color combinations and fits like a perfect puzzle.

Next, I cut an acetate square size (3 7/8″) to use as my base to adhere the frames together and proceeded to create a shaker using these wonderful 6mm Flat Sweetheart sequin mix and new Mini Star Confetti sequins in Silver and Iridescent color. Afterwards, I pulled out this cute adorable little bunny from the Holiday Pals set along with the tiny bow.

DSC_0198 bunny close up blog

Since I’m in love with these stitched scallops as well from the Stitched Borders 1 collection, I couldn’t resist but to add it to this card. Last but not least, I used this cute little Stitched Speech Bubble to add a sentiment saying “You’re the best”.

I must admit this is one of my favorite sets: Darling Friends with this big balloon and adorable little bunny so I decided to make another shaker card using the Storybook 1 die and create a scene on the outside vs. on the inside. Also, if you notice that little tiny red heart on the basket, it’s from the Mini Tags die collection.

set1 set2

DSC_0190 Darling Friends blog

Here, I mixed in this fabulous 4mm Sweetheart mix along with some new little Mini Heart sequins in Silver and Iridescent. I can’t tell you how much I love these and thinking of all the ways to use, especially love their size and sparkles. Also, if your wondering where those tiny envelopes with the little red heart are from, it’s from the new Birdie Notes stamp set and boy let me tell you….it’s so darn cute.

DSC_0199 darling close up blog

This brings me to my last card where I used the new Birdie Notes stamp set (the free gift in the recent birthday celebration) to create this Valentine card filled with hearts. Isn’t this birdie adorable? The sentiment is also from the same set and can be used all year round and the little tiny bow that I colored in red comes from the Holiday Pals set again.

DSC_0212 Birdie Notes blog

As you can tell, l used this cute little scallop again from the Stitched Borders 1 collection, but before that, I’ll share with you on how I created this little mini shaker where I used the Stitched Photo Frames. This one is the biggest size out of the three you get in the collection measuring approximately 2 1/4 ” wide by 2 3/4″ tall.

After I die cut the frame, I embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and added a piece of acetate. Next, I added some fun foam to create the height needed for the shaker. Than comes the fun part which is adding in these wonderful 4mm sparkling clear sequins in the center.

DSC_0237 birdie close up two blog

Once I pieced it all together, I added on top of the acetate, these cute new little Mini Hearts in Gold along with the tiny envelopes.  Last but not least, I added this adorable birdie that was colored in pink using foam mount tape to add some more dimension.

Valentine Theme Week- Day 2

valentinethemeweek

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends!

Heather here from Houses Built of Cards. I’m delighted to be sharing a sweet Valentine card with you today using the adorable new Mini Heart sequins that are releasing on February 1st! Eeeek! They are SOOO adorable! PERFECT for shaker cards too – so that is what I made!

 Cards-1-22-16-017

I used one of the umbrella’s from the Pretty Pink Posh Rainy Day’s Stamp set with a giraffe from Wplus9’s Party Animal stamp set – adding the little bird on the giraffe’s back, and fussy cutting them out together. My sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s True Friend stamp set – and those little hearts around the sentiment are from the adorable free stamp set from the PPP birthday celebration.

Cards-1-22-16-020

I used the Scallop Frames die set to create the frame for my shaker card, and added some pattern paper from Basic Grey for the background – then filled it with those Mini Stars in Gold. I love how tiny these are and how easy they shake – the move so freely inside the shaker!

I hope that you’ve been enjoying theme week so far. We still have three more days of great posts- we’ll see you tomorrow!

Throwback Thursday: Peek-A-Boo

Pretty Pink PoshHello!

I’m excited to be on the PPP blog showcasing some of the fabulous Pretty Pink Posh dies.  I love to use my dies in unusual or unique ways and I’ll be stopping in once a month for a new feature called Throwback Thursday.  Today I’m using the Peek-a-Boo die that was released last year.

Pretty Pink Posh

When I was coming up with a design using this die, I could not get the image of Morning Glories out of my mind.  (That’s ok if you don’t see it…..just go with it for me!)  So, I die cut the Peek-a-Boo die multiple times in a random pattern onto Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock.  Using the die image as a guide, I watercolored Wild Honey, Hickory Smoke, and Broken China Distress Inks over the top.  I used lots of water to blend out the color so they weren’t so vibrant.  Once this panel was completely dry, I adhered it with foam adhesive to a top folding notecard.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my sentiment, I used a “thanks” die from my stash diecutting it out of Broken China Distress Inked watercolor paper as well.  I love that the sentiment extends across my watercolor background!  As for those sequins?  I had to use my favorite Sparkling Clear sequins in 4mm and 6mm to finish this off!

I’m so excited to have Amy bringing this new feature to the blog once a month. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase an older product, but one that still has so much creative uses!

Along with the great card that Amy has shared with us, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite cards from the design team and guests using the specific product we highlight. Click on the photos below to see the original post from the designers.

That’s a wrap for this post. In my next post, I’ll announce the winners from the birthday celebration blog hop and the bonus giveaway winners.

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Celebration- Day 3

Pretty Pink Posh

Hello and welcome to the last day of the 2nd birthday celebration!

Before I start with today’s post, I just have to say a truly heartfelt thank you. I have never received this many orders in such a short amount of time in the two years I’ve been in business. As many of you know, I’m a one woman business, so I’m working as quickly as I can to get all of your orders sent off. There’s a holiday on Monday, so that’ll allow me one extra day to get things packaged up for when the post office opens on Tuesday.

Today one the new PPP designers, Liz, has this darling card to share using several Pretty Pink Posh products. She used the dog from the Holiday Pals set and made him look oh-so-cute on this birthday shaker card. Just look at the little bow tie and hat!

Pretty Pink Posh

For the focal piece, Liz used the popular Stitched Banner Duo 2 die set to create the shaker part of her card and filled it with the 4mm Sweetheart Mix. These colors work so well with the red card base and the pink panel on the front. To finish off the card, she used the Twine and Bows die set– a must have for all crafters! It gives the illusion of twine without the fuss and bulkiness.

You could create the exact same card with more neutral or boy themed colors. Imagine the new Share Kindness Mix of colors on this card- that would be adorable for this card design!

Pretty Pink PoshNo party would be complete without guests, gifts and a party favor, right? During the celebration, save 10% off your order using the coupon code provided below.

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Celebration- Day 1

Pretty Pink Posh

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Pretty Pink Posh 2nd birthday celebration!

For those new to my blog or company- welcome! I opened the Pretty Pink Posh Shop as a way to share quality sequins and embellishments and now, two years later, I’ve branched out into steel dies and a handful of stamp sets. It’s been a crazy, wonderful journey thus far and I’m happy I get to share my products with you. Grab your favorite beverage and join us for this 3 day party!

Today one the new PPP designers, Heather, has this darling card to share using products from the brand new release, along with the FREE stamp set I’ll be giving away during this celebration for qualifying purchases, while supplies last.

Pretty Pink Posh

The brand new Scallop Squares are the latest addition in the scallop series and boy, they are so fun to use! Heather used both sizes on the card and with the light colored cardstock, you really can see how pretty and delicate the stitching and scallops are. *swoon*

For the sentiment, she paired it with the Stitched Speech Bubbles die set, which works perfectly with any kind of critter stamp set you may have. For the adorable bow on the birdie, she used the Twine and Bows die set, which gives you three perfectly shaped bows without fuss!

Pretty Pink Posh

For a little dimension, Heather added a sprinkling of the Sparkling Clear Mix across the card. Our favorite adhesive for sequins is the Multi Medium Matte– it has a tiny tip and makes it easy to adhere even the smaller sequins. The last finishing touch is some Clear Wink of Stella, just to bring a little more shimmer to the birdie.

Pretty Pink Posh

No party would be complete without guests, gifts and a party favor, right? During the celebration, save 10% off your order using the coupon code provided below. Also, if your order is over $60 (before taxes and shipping), you’ll get the not-yet-released Birdie Notes stamp set that Heather used on today’s card!

Umbrella Shaker Card

Good morning!

Heather here from Houses Built of Cards. Did you see the new release from Pretty Pink Posh? I am in love with the adorable new Mini Star Confetti! I played with that, and some other PPP stamps, dies, sequins, seed beads, and confetti to put this fun card together – hopefully it would cheer someone up if they weren’t feeling well!

Pretty Pink Posh

I stamped and fussy cut out the umbrella from Rainy Days stamp set – masking the bottom of the handle so I could make the entire think the more thick and solid size. I layered it with the sentiment on the Decorative Tag 1 Die‘s main frame image.

Pretty Pink Posh

I cut the Scallop Frame die in white to make the shaker portion, and filled it with a fun mix of embellies – no skimping here! I filled it with a mix of Iridescent Mini Star Confetti, Silver Shimmer Seed Beads, 4mm Lemon Meringue sequins, and 6mm Silver Confetti. This shaker is full of fun! I adhered the front panel on top of the acetate, so the goodies are free to shake underneath to their hearts content.

As soon as I saw this card, I knew I had to share it with you all here on the blog. Thank you Heather for sharing this with us today!
