Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

Hello everyone, Joni here with another tutorial sharing how to do a splattered background with distress inks. On this project I used the new Rainy Days Additions and Fox Friends stamp sets and Fox Friends Coordinating die set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

To begin I first stamped the sentiment from Rainy Days Additions stamp set “joy and sunshine” with Versamark ink and then white heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next, I distressed it with Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, and Evergreen Bough.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

Next, I smooshed some of the distress ink on the acrylic block, I added some water and used my brushed to gather the colored water and splattered it on the white panel. I did used all of the three distress inks for splattering.

Next, I colored the fox with Copic markers. I stamped the puddle of water, clouds and umbrella from the Rainy Days Additions stamp set. The umbrella handle is from the original Rainy Days stamp set.

This image below is showing you the water puddle. Such a simple image but it adds so much to the card!

The die-cut images for this project were adhered with foam tape for dimensions. I also added the new Pewter sequins which I think is my new favorite now. The sentiment “sending you” is also from the Rainy Days Additions as well.

Tutorial: Butterfly Shakers

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here to share a couple Butterfly theme shaker cards again using some of the NEW release from Pretty Pink Posh – SOOOO much to love!

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

For these cards I combined the large butterfly die from Blissful Butterflies Coordinating Dies with some of the smaller images from the Blissful Butterflies Stamp Set – and some distress inking, one of my favorite techniques lately!

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

To begin with, I cut my card front using the fabulous new Storybook 5 die from white cardstock, then cut it again out of kraft cardstock to get the center windows. I then used the large butterfly die to make a window for my shaker.

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

Next, I used some Versamark ink to stamp the solid tiny butterfly from the stamp set randomly over the white background, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set – at this point, the butterflies are invisible…

 Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

THEN – I blended distress inks over the background – see how the white butterflies magically appeared? Then I took the tiny outline butterfly stamp set, and stamped it around the outside as well, but in the same distress ink color as was blended on each area – in this next photo, you can see how the right hand card front was already done this way – doesn’t it add so much to the background?

 Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

Finally, I added the butterfly trail to the shaker part, and stamped a sentiment from Camping Friends Stamp set, and heat embossed them both in white, then added the acetate and foam adhesive to these pieces to form the shaker element – which is filled with the new size 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins – such a PERFECT size for shaker cards, and I’m pretty sure they are extra sparkly!!!

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

Here is a close up look at the finished cards:

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

See what I mean? Don’t you think those sequins are especially sparkly?

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

I love how just changing the distress ink colors helps change the entire feel of the card:

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

That small size sequin moves especially well in the shaker cards too – small enough that I only had to use one layer of foam adhesive, and it still moves freely.

Camping Shaker + PDF Download

Pretty Pink Posh: Camping Shaker + PDF Download

Hello, Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Yana and I have a video tutorial to share today featuring one of the new stamps & dies- Camping Friends.

Pretty Pink Posh: Camping Shaker + PDF Download

To create the shaker area for this project I used a coordinating die, not a stand alone die, and die cut a tent window in a rectangle panel. I often like to use my coordinating dies on their own without the stamps and using the die like this is a great example of how you can stretch the use of dies beyond just using them with their matching stamps.

Pretty Pink Posh: Camping Shaker + PDF Download

I also filmed a video tutorial to walk you through the cardmaking process from start to finish.

Watch the video above   I Watch the video in HD on YouTube  border
Instead of using acetate for my shaker window, I once again used vellum. If you missed my earlier post, click here. The reason I went with vellum here is because when using vellum, unlike acetate, I’m able to emboss it. I embossed a tent image in Gold Embossing powder (I made two identical cards and for the other card I used Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder) and adhered vellum screen onto the die cut rectangle from behind.

Pretty Pink Posh: Camping Shaker + PDF Download

Tip: when using acetate you won’t be able to heat emboss it unless the acetate is heat resistant, but you can stamp on acetate with special kind of ink like StazOn. You can also stamp on vellum and there are a lot of different kinds of ink what will dry on vellum surface.

Pretty Pink Posh: Camping Shaker + PDF Download

Instead of using regular white and brown cardstock, I used woodgrain textured card as I feel is was a perfect match for this nature-themed project. I also added a bit of natural twine to the mix.

To finish this card I heat embossed, watercolored and die cut several additional images from the Camping Friends stamp set, foam mounted them onto the shaker panel and embellished my card with 4mm and 10mm Rose Gold sequins as well as 4mm and 6mm clear droplets.

August Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

Hello, sweet friends!

It’s time for our two day Product Release Blog Hop for the August 2016 release. Many of you have already placed orders, but for those who were wanting for more inspiration, today and tomorrow the design team and special guests have all sorts of inspiration to share!

Today the super sweet Jeanne has a card and mini tutorial for you all using the new Camping Friends stamp set!

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

It’s great to be able to use the dies to cut out shapes to insert into a scene, but today I’m going to show you how I used the dies to actually make the background.  I wanted to create a starry sky over a grassy area as a background for the mischievous raccoon.

I started by stamping a panel of  card stock with the moon and stars images.  I colored them with Copic markers.  Next I die cut the matching shapes and adhered them to the colored images with repositionable adhesive.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

Next I added distress ink (wilted violet) over the stars covering about 2/3 of the panel.  I mixed a little extra with water and splashed it over the panel to add the little dots you see.   It adds a little dimension to the background – don’t worry if some go across the bottom panel of the paper.   When the paper was dry I removed the die cut masks.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

For the grassy area I used the curved border from the Stitched Borders 1 die set.  I used the negative side of the die cut as a mask and blended distress ink to create a grassy hill.

Tip: Save the pretty stitched side of the die cut for another project.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

I trimmed the background panel and framed it with the Scallop Frames die.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

A few Summer Flowers make great accents for the grass- and there are so many colors to choose from in the store!  Pretty Pink Posh makes it so easy to make!

Tutorial: Creating Garden Scenes

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Garden Scenes

Hello everyone, Joni here sharing these new cute fox critters from the Fox Friends stamp set and the Fox Friends Coordinating die set. I also used the new Stitched Hexagons dies. Today I want to share with you how to ground images using your Copic markers.

To begin, I first distressed an A2 white card panel then die-cut on the upper right using the medium sized Stitched Hexagons dies. At the bottom of the panel I drew 2 lines using a pencil mark (see: arrows). This will serve as a guide on where to put some grass and dot images using Copic markers.

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Garden Scenes

Next, I using YG95 and G99 to draw my grass and dots for my ground.

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Garden Scenes

I added more color of Copics to make it more realistic look. I used E31 and E57 for the add on.
Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Garden Scenes

Next, I removed the pencil marks. For the back of the hexagon, I distressed some piece of white cardstock using Distress Ink in Wild Honey. Next, I adhered the piece of cardstock with foam tape for dimensions even though it’s a background.

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Garden Scenes

Then, I added some water splatter and gold splatter using the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Garden Scenes

I adhered the die-cut images with foam tape for added dimensions. I also added some of the new Tropical Flowers sequins (orange color). I also include some of the Sparkling Clear sequins to finish off the card.

Storybook Foxes (New Products!)

Hello, Anna Kossakovskaya is here today with my first guest designer post, I’m so happy to share some my cards with you and thanks to Paulina for this invitation.

IMG_2018
For my today’s card I played with cute foxes from new Fox Friends set. I like these animals – they always look so sweet! And I used two of three foxes from the set – stamped them, colored and cut with the coordinating dies.
IMG_2019

To make the scene, I cut the windowns on the front panel with Storybook 5 die and placed the scene and shaker inside. For the bushes I used Scallop Borders die – cut two pieces and colored them with Distress inks. The ‘sky’ I colored with pink and light blue inks.

To fill the shaker I took two kinds of the sequins – 3MM Sparkling Clear Sequins and 6mm Peridot Mist Sequins.
