Hi everyone it’s Ardyth and today is my very first time on the Pretty Pink Posh blog and YouTube channel! I have a video tutorial to share using the new Pinata Party set.
I used the Pinata Party set to make a fun shaker card with a special feature! The Pinata is hanging on some twine, so he can swing inside the shaker among all the fun jewels and sequins!
I started by stamping the background – I used one the Let’s Party sentiments from the set and created a grid by stamping it, turning the stamp and then stamping again. I added some colourful stamped confetti to the background, so that when all the jewels and sequins settle, there are still bright happy colours all over the card!
I built my shaker frame with 6 layers of the large Scallop Square die cut. This seemed to work fine, but I still think that next time, I’ll use 7 to give my shaker fillers a bit more room. I put acetate behind the top layer of the shaker frame, and I glued the silver twine to the second layer of the frame, so that the pinata could swing from that. I used some anti-static powder on the acetate so he could swing freely without getting stuck on the acetate.
Then I used some of the new Party Mix jewels and Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix as my shaker filler. I stamped another sentiment and some confetti on the inside of the card as well. I love how it looks like the pinata has already exploded, and the party is ready to start!
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the card and video.
Hello friends, Eloise here and today I have another Christmas card to share with you all. I will be creating a scene with the Caroling Critters stamp set along with the Happy Holidays Script Die and Pine Sprig Die and they will be fitting into the scene with little added accents to them.
To start off my project, I stamped my image onto a piece of 4” x 5 ½” white cardstock. I then took some small detail scissors and cut around the top half of the image to make it into a little snow bank. I then coloured in my scene with Copic Markers.
Next, I die cut the Pine Sprigs out of some white cardstock and the Happy Holidays Script from black cardstock. I then adhered down my pine sprigs onto some scrap cardstock and coloured them in with the same green Copics I used earlier. Now that all my elements are ready, I took a Versamarker Pen and scribbled over the tops of my words and pine sprigs. I then added white embossing powder to each of the pieces and white heat embossed them. Now it looks like the snow is sitting of each of the pieces which is super cool.
Lastly, I used some Distress Inks to create a simple sky background, flicked on some water and dried it with my heat tool. I then added some white dots with a white gel pen as well for added interest. I adhered all my elements down with foam and flat adhesive and then for a last finishing touch I added on some Winter Days Confetti Mix around the background as well.
For my card idea #1 I stamped the round ornament in red Copic marker friendly ink. My idea was to color this image using my markers and next re-stamp the same image over the colored one in gold embossing powder. I used R39, R27, R24, R22, R20 as well as C7, C5, C3 and C1 markers to color the ornament and topper. These are my go-to colors for anything red and cool gray.
After gold heat embossing this image over the colored one I cut it out using a coordinating die. To pop this ornament up on my card I die cut identical ornament shape out of thin self adhesive fun foam. I decided to use this thin fun foam instead of foam squares as I wanted to pop the ornament up just a bit and also wanted to have a solid layer of foam under the ornament to prevent it from sagging.
Next, I pieced an opening in the ornament and my panel and threaded gold sting through to tie into a small beautiful bow. To create a background for my card I drew horizontal stripes first using a red marker and next using a 1⁄2” paint brush and embossing ink. This gave me a beautiful red & gold stripe background. You can stamp a background like this if you prefer, but I wanted mine to have a more hand drawn look to it, so I opted to freehand one myself. I adhered my background on an A2 white side folding card base and added my ornament panel on top. I also embellished my ornament using gold jewels.
The rest of my projects feature much simpler ways to color or skip coloring altogether. For my card idea #2 I gold heat embossed one of the ornament images in the center of a blue panel. I also die cut ornament opening in a white panel and made sure to heat emboss the ornament so that it was centered in regards to both panels. I foam mounted the white panel with the sentiment over the blue one and to color the ornament, or rather to add some sparkle to the ornament, I used my shimmer pen and added a touch of shimmer. I find this to be a much simpler and easier way to color and also one that looks absolutely gorgeous, especially on dark cardstock. I also used clear jewels and adhered a few where the ornament design allowed. Lastly, I embellished this card using a few larger jewels in gold.
Here’s another variation of this idea – I gold heat embossed a number of ornament on a panel of blue cardstock and once again colored them using a shimmer pen for a touch of sparkle. This ended up being a flat one layer card that is easy to mail. I embellished it using sparkling clear jewels in the smallest size, and added larger gold jewels scattered around the card.
For my last idea featuring this stamp set I used ink and ink blending technique to add color to my gold heat embossed ornaments. I used just one ink pad color for each ornament and simply blended it heavier on one side and lighter on the other to imitate shadows and highlights.
To create a background for this card I used wide double sided tape and white glitter and added wide glitter stripes on my card front. I also gold heat embossed a sentiment and foam mounted the ornaments on top for a touch of dimension. Lastly, I used a white pen to add some white details to the card and embellished it using Pearl White jewels.
Hi Everyone, it’s Rina. I wanted to get into the holiday spirit by creating two holiday shaker cards using the new Tree Shaker Die and the Ornament Shaker Die. I thought these would be perfect to showcase the new confetti mixes in Berry Bright and Winter Days.
First I colored my images in copic markers, I am using the Decorative Ornaments and Reindeer Friends stamp sets today. Here are the Copic Markers used:
Brown – E70, E71, E74, E77, E79
Red/Pink – RV13, RV14, RV29, R27
Blue – BG000, BG02, B04
Gray – C3, C5
First I used colored cardstock in 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches to create my card front, I placed the shaker die in the middle to create the opening. I am not using the die cuts made from the colored cardstock for this project because I will be cutting out the dies again but in silver and gold foil cardstock to create contrast.
I added the acetate (4 x 5 ¼ inches) to the back of the colored cardstock card fronts and adhered the acetate. From there, I will use foam tape to create the shaker well. I used the following sequins for the shaker bits:
Once the sequins are in, I will seal the shaker with a 4 x 5 ¼ piece of cardstock. I will adhere my gold and silver shaker die cuts to the front of the card on the acetate to finish off the shaker front. I adhered the images and embellished my card using more of the Sparkling Clear Snowflake Sequins and Mini Gold Star Confetti or Mini Silver Star Confetti. Adhere the shaker mechanism to your card base and finish off with a glitter brush pen.
Hi crafty friends, Eloise here today to share a card using the new Penguin Pals Stamp Set and Layered Tree Dies to create a fun Christmas scene. Plus, we are kicking off 5 Days of Christmas, which is where we’ll have a new giveaway each day, along with some holiday inspiration!
To start off my card today I stamped out the penguins from Penguin Pals as well as the branch and log from Winter Woodland. I coloured them in with Copic Markers and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.
While I had my die cutting machine out, I also die cut out the Layered Tree Die from white cardstock along with a snowy hill using the Stitched Borders 1 Die Set.
Next up I coloured the Layered Tree using the same green Copics as before, except I added In YG67 to darken it up a little. After I coloured in all the elements, I dried them off and started on my background. I took a piece of watercolour paper and ink blended some Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks. I flicked on some water and dried it with a heat tool.
I then adhered on my snowy hill and then my branches and the tree in the middle. I then adhered the rest of my penguins onto my scene as well. To finish up, I cut apart my ‘Merry Wishes’ stamp so I could have a side-by-side sentiment instead of on top of each other and stamped it on the top of my panel and white heat embossed it.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and am loving this new release as much as I am. This penguin set is super cute, and I had a blast creating this card today.
Hello friends, Eloise here and today I have a Christmas card to share with you all using the Poinsettias stamp set. I decided to also do a little dry embossing on the background for some added interest.
I started off with dry embossing my leaves. I took a piece of watercolour cardstock and ran through the coordinating leaves dies of the Poinsettias set. I used a thin tan embossing mat between two plates in my Big Shot Machine to get the effect. I then die cut the same leaves from some masking paper and adhered them over top. I then use Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks for the background, I flicked on some water and dried it with a heat tool.
Next, I could colour my images in. I stamped out all the poinsettias and leaves and used Copic Markers to colour them in. I then cut them out using the coordinating dies and added foam tapes to the backs.
I then arranged all my images onto my background and adhered them down into place. I added Wink of Stella in clear for added interest as well. I also arranged the leaves around the dry embossed ones. I then stamped the ‘Merry Wishes’ sentiment from Penguin Pals onto the right-hand side of my panel as well as a piece of red and white striped patterned paper.
For a last finishing touch, I used some Holiday Jewel Mix and scattered them around my card and adhered them into place.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll see you all next time.
It’s Justine again with a new video process tutorial. Today I’m using my prismacolor pencils to colour on a dark background in order to make an elegant Christmas card. These coloured pencils are so highly pigmented that they showed up on black cardstock. If you would like a true colour from your pencil, colour in white first, then colour overtop with the colour of your choice.
I used the Decorative Ornaments stamp all over the background and I embossed it using gold embossing powder. I coloured in all of the little elements. I tried my best to switch up the five colours on the background and I think leaving some in black really made the colours pop.
Lastly, I die cut the Happy Holidays Script die and embossed it three times in gold embossing powder to make it more like chipboard rather than a paper die. In such a busy background, I wanted to make sure the sentiment didn’t get lost nor take away from the background so this was a perfect choice.
I hope you enjoyed today’s video and technique. Thanks for stopping by and joining us today!
To start my card, I’m going to color up my images. I stamp two of the Cuddly Cats from the set onto Neenah Solar White cardstock 80 lbs with copic friendly ink. Then color with copic markers and use the coordinating die to die cut them out.
For my front panel, I’m die cutting a star from a piece of White cardstock using the Stitched Stars Die. This will leave a beautiful stitching around the shape that adds a little more interest to the front of the card. I’m also going to use the Simple Sayings: Life stamp set and stamp my sentiment with black ink. Be sure to check out my video for a great tip on making sure you stamp straight.
For my background panel, I used a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and add Aged Mahogany and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink with the English Brick Wall Stencil. For the sky, I ink blended Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide. My front panel is popped up with foam tape and added to the ink blended panel for some fun dimension. Then I could add my Cuddly Cats by tucking them in the Stitched Star Window.
You can’t make a card without adding some beautiful jewels! I used the Metallic Gold Jewels which reminded me of stars.
The Pumpkin Patch Critters stamp set features adorable critter peeking from behind various size pumpkins. I thought they would make a great focal point for simple, easy to make Fall greeting cards for family & friends.
Watch my video tutorial below to learn how I made this card.
I made 4 cards to create a set, all feature the same layout and supplies and are very easy to make – you just need a handful of things. I started working on these by stamping the sentiment “Autumn Greetings” in the center of 4 1⁄4 x 5 1⁄2” panels. Next, I stamped a pumpkin and critter above the sentiment in Copic-marker friendly ink.
Once my stamping was done I used Copic markers (as I consider them to be a quick and efficient way to color) to color. I used:
YR07, YR04, Y17 and Y15 for the pumpkins;
YG95 and YG99 to color stem of the pumpkins;
W3 and W 1 to color bunny and cat;
E79, E37, E33 and YR04 to color the fox and squirrel.
I wanted to add something else to my projects, so I decided I’d stamp tiny florals. I used the Bold Blooms stamp set for this. This is a smaller set with a bunch of beautiful flowers that work really great as little accents on cards. In my recent video, featuring the Happy Mail stamp set and seasonal Happy Mail cards, I used the same flowers to dress up a mail box and they made my cards that much more beautiful and complete.
I used the same marker colors here as before plus a few yellow makers – Y35 and Y13 and once I had all of these colored I used my coordinating dies and cut these out in my die cutting machine. I did keep some of the flowers almost white by coloring them using a W1 marker for a little bit of shading.
Next, I tied gold thread into a messy bow and adhered under the stamped pumpkins. My idea was to have gold thread sticking from behind the tiny floral cluster that I foam mounted on top.
Once everything was done I trimmed my panels down to 4” wide as the stamping seemed a bit off to me, so by trimming the panel I made sure the stamping was centered. I adhered my panels onto A2 light brown woodgrain card bases and used Metallic Gold Jewels to dress these cards up. Gold seems like the perfect option for Fall, it complements the warm Autumn colors beautifully.
I also added some subtle stamping onto some of the panels using yellow ink and images from the Holiday Greetings stamp set.
Hi friends, it’s Rina here today. I am loving the new holiday release from Pretty Pink Posh. I have been obsessed with ink blending from light to dark so I thought I would play with the new release and try this technique out.
Today I am using the Penguin Pals and the oldie but goodie Happy Snowman stamp sets. I am also using the latest script dies which are so beautiful. I absolutely loved how they looked on my finished cards. I used the Season’s GreetingsScript and Happy Holidays Script dies. I also had to try out the Pine Sprigs dies and they are so elegant and delicate.
I cut a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch panel and cut it twice using the Scallop Borders 2 dies to create hills. I adhered them to my card base and arranged the images, pine springs and script die cuts.
