Happy Birthday Balloons

Hello, Gemma here to share a card with the Party Balloons die set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Happy Birthday Balloons

I began by die cutting balloons from gold, white, green and pink card. I created three balloons, layering pieces together for the star patterned balloons, then adding the strings.

Pretty Pink Posh: Happy Birthday Balloons

On an A2 card base, I adhered a piece of light green patterned paper. I added a sentiment, using the Happy Birthday Shadow die set and the Birthday Scripts stamp set.

Next, I adhered the three balloons to the card, along with an additional sentiment banner attached to one of the balloons.

Pretty Pink Posh: Happy Birthday Balloons

To create the banner, I first embossed a sentiment in gold from the Sentiment Strips: Birthday stamp set, then die cut it with a Sentiment Strip. I layered a gold banner behind with foam tape, then trimmed the sentiment banner at one end before attaching to the balloon to finish.

Thanks for stopping by. Join us tomorrow as we kick off sneak peeks for the upcoming release!

Happy Spring Shaker

Hello crafty friends! It’s June again, and today I’m back with a fun shaker card!

I had a specific color palette in mind for this card, which was aqua-green-brown. I started off by cutting out the Butterfly Shaker Die and giving it some color. I went with both the aqua and green to make it as colorful as possible. I used the Distress Oxide colors Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron for this. I also added some white splatters with thinned out acrylic paint to add some detail. For the back piece of my shaker I used the same colors, but with a very light hand. I put mostly Pastel Party Shaker Beads inside of my shaker, but I also handpicked some butterflies in the colors I wanted from the Spring Butterflies Clay Confetti.

Pretty Pink Posh: Happy Spring Shaker

To bring back the same colors, I cut out the Heart Vines Die and used my Copics on it to color in the leaves. I added some white gel pen detailing on them to. I used the same die to add an aqua frame around the whole card as well.

Now, the issue with the Heart Vines Die is that there’s a big heart in the middle that I didn’t want to show behind my butterfly, so I cut out the largest Scallop Oval Die and backed it with an ink blended panel to cover it up. I used Distress Oxide in the color Tea Dye to blend a soft gradient and splattered Vintage Photo on top of it.

Pretty Pink Posh: Happy Spring Shaker

I backed my vines onto a piece of cream colored cardstock and used some foam tape to add my oval shape. The shaker also uses foam tape, so it’s quite a bulky card, but I love all the dimension it added.

Pretty Pink Posh: Happy Spring Shaker

I finished off my card by adding my sentiment. I stamped the ‘happy’ stamp from the Birthday Scripts stamp set with embossing ink onto brown cardstock and I embossed it using white powder. I added a ‘spring’ from the Sentiment Strips: Easter stamp set to complete my sentiment and tadaaa! My card is finished!

I hope to see you again later this month with a new card :)

Apple Thank You Cards

Hi friends! It’s Zsofi here today and I am sharing a simple but stunning teacher appreciation card idea with some older favorites. I love when a design can work in various colours and this one would look stunning in yellow and green too!

First I used the Layered Apples stencil on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Distress Oxide inks. For the first layer I used Candied Apple for the red and Seedless Preserves for the purple. I made sure to fade out the colours towards the right lower corner simply by using less ink and a lighter hand. I find blending brushes easier to use for this technique.

For the leaves (Layer B) I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks and for the stems (Layer C) I chose Ground Espresso. I love these layering stencils, they make multiple coloured designs so easy!

To step up the cards, I put the first layer back in its place and sprayed the apples with a clear shimmer mist for a subtle sparkle. I also added some diluted ink splatters and some white and black acrylic paint splatters too. It adds so much to the design!

When the panels were dry, I trimmed them down a little and gave them a slightly bigger mat in coordinating cardstock colour.

For the sentiment I chose the Everyday Greetings stamp set. I love that pretty handwritten font, and the size is perfect for this design. I stamped it directly on the stenciled background with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat set it with my heat gun. I also added an extra sentiment under it which I stamped on thin strips of coloured cardstock using the Simple Sentiments stamp set. I mounted these with 3D foam squares for added dimension.

As a finishing touch I adhered a few Lime Shimmer Confetti all around the card, it matches the leaves perfectly.

I hope you liked my card and got inspired to make a couple of stenciled cards like this. I will need to make more for my kids’ teachers this year!

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon, Zsofi

Blue Birthday Train

Hello, Gemma here today sharing a card made with the Birthday Train stamp set. This stamp set is an add-on to the Valentine Train stamp set, which has the train engine and track.

I stamped out images from the Birthday Train and Valentine Train stamp sets, then coloured them with copic markers. I kept the colour palette to blues, oranges and greys, with the addition of brown for the cake. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out.

Copic colours

  • Engine & carriages: B91-97, C1-7, B000-00
  • Track & connectors: N3-5
  • Clouds: N0-1
  • Cake & presents: YR14-16, Y13-17, B91-95, E31-34

To create a background, I die cut some Stitched Strips from three shades of blue card. I used some washi tape to join the pieces together, then adhered them to a mini slimline card base, leaving a little white space.

I adhered the train track on the card with liquid glue, then the train images with some foam tape.

For the sentiment, I embossed in blue glitter embossing powder the large hooray word from the Birthday Train stamp set. This word die has a coordinating die, and I added extra layers for dimension.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 20240413-P4138705.jpg

I then embossed in white on blue card an additional sentiment from the same stamp set. I used a Sentiment Strip die to cut it out, then added to the card with foam tape to finish.

Mother’s Day Box Card

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am back with a new video on the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel today. We’re continuing with our box cards – this month for Mother’s Day!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started with stenciling as I’m using a paste that will need time to dry. Using the Layered Argyle Stencils on white cardstock, I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide for the (A) stencil, Fruit Salad Summer Interference Ink for the (B) stencil, and Rosy Cheeks Lunar Paste for the (C) stencil.

While that was drying, I used the same inks to emboss resist the “MOM” sentiment from the Mom stamp set with white embossing powder. When done, I used the Mom coordinating dies to cut out the word. I also stamped the floral images with an alcohol marker friendly black ink and colored them in with OLO markers. I used their dies to cut them out and will use these images to decorate the box card.

The Scallop Box Card Dies were cut out of pink cardstock for the base and the scallop dies were used with the stenciled background. I adhered the box card together and created my secondary sentiment with pink glitter and yellow cardstocks with the Sentiment Strips Dies. When my sentiment strips were added to the box card, I added my “MOM” and floral images to the box card.

You can follow along in today’s video and I hope you had some floral fun with me today for the Mother’s Day box card. I’m already brainstorming how to make a Father’s Day box card for next month!

Spring Theme Week: Day 7

**All items in the Spring section are 15% off during theme week**

Hello crafty friends! This is Mindy and I’m so excited to share this card with you that combines some new and old products for Spring Theme Week

I absolutely love daisies and just had to use this daisy bouquet on my card project. Something about daisies just screams Spring! This bouquet comes from the Daisies Stamp set which I colored up with just couple alcohol markers.

Where there are flowers there are bees! I dug through my stash and found this oldie but goodie called Bee Friends. So I stamped and colored up one of the bees for my card.

I have a white panel of cardstock I die cut using the Eyelet Rectangle die and then trimmed out another rectangle to fit inside of the stitched lines. Before adhering anything together, I stamped my sentiment from the Spring Chicks stamp set

To assemble my card, the inner rectangle is popped up with foam tape and then I added my eyelet frame panel to a card front I created with woodgrain cardstock.

For an added touch, I used unicorn stickles to the bees wings.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope this gives you all the Spring vibes!

Spring Theme Week: Day 6

**All items in the Spring section are 15% off during theme week**

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, buzzing by with a Spring themed mini slimline card. I used several cute Pretty Pink Posh products, new and older, to make this sweet little scene.

I started by selectively cutting the largest Slimline Scallop Frames Die to get the proportions I wanted. I like to make my mini slimline cards 6.5 x 3.5 in dimension. Which is only 2 inches shorter than a standard slimline card. This frame die is only 8 x 3, so I will trim it to 6 x 3, then add a background layer. I accomplished this by placing the top cutting mat an inch short of the edge of the die. Then I measured and marked where 6 would be, and very carefully placed the edge of the die at the marked point, while making sure the scallops fit back into the frame. I taped it in place with washi tape to avoid any slippage, and cut only that last inch.

I watercolored a panel for the background using multiple shades of yellows and allowed that to dry before trimming it to fir the back of my frame and cutting some cute stitched hexagons using a die from the new Spring Mug Additions die set

I stamped several adorable bumblebees from the Bee Friends stamp set and heat embossed the sentiment in the upper area of my watercolored panel. I also stamped and colored the large jar from the Spring Jar set and the little decorative bow. I used the Spring Mug Additions Dies to cut some small flowers, leaves, and the honey dipper before coloring each item with a combination of ink blending and COPIC coloring.

I used foam tape strips to adhere the scalloped frame to the watercolored background, the centered the whole thing onto a patterned panel that is 6.5 x 3.5. I adhered my hexagons, honey jar, bees and flowers using foam tape hot glue. Then I finished it off by adding some sparkly Wink of Stella to the bees wings.

Thank you for stopping by, make sure to check out all of the Spring Theme Week inspiration on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog.

Spring Theme Week: Day 5

**All items in the Spring section are 15% off during theme week**

Hello everyone, it’s June here and today I’m back on the blog with some card inspiration!

When I’m not feeling very inspired I always start off my cards the same way: I stamp some images I want to use, make a cluster in the center of my card and blend a cute stenciled background to go with it. And somehow, that simple formula always results in my favorite cards. It can actually be that simple! But sometimes I feel like I need to mix it up a bit and that’s exactly what I tried for today’s card.

Instead of creating my own pattern paper with a stencil, I used stamps. The different sizes of flowers in the Daisies stamp set gave me the idea to create my own floral pattern to match my center image. To make sure it didn’t distract too much from the focal point, I stamped them in light grey ink and kept my colors quite neutral.

Instead of going for a single layer background and masking off my flowers, I stamped them onto a another piece of paper and cut them out. This gave me the ability to play around with the placement of my daisies before committing.

I cut out a panel with the largest of the Stitched Torn Rectangles and blended a background with Distress Oxides in the colors Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, Cracked Pistachio and Salvaged Patina. I adhered my daisies in a pattern I liked and cut off the overhangs.

Now onto the center images! The bouquet of Daisies was my favorite stamp of the entire release I think, but since I already used it I wanted to switch it up a bit. Instead of putting the flowers in a mason jar like I did with my previous card, I did some fussy cutting and put my bouquet inside an envelope. Pretty Pink Posh has released a couple of envelope sets, and any of them would work for this because I cut out all the images that were originally inside the envelope. (I personally went with my favorite, the Fall Envelopes 😉)

To add some interest, I also stamped the bow that’s included in the set. I colored my images in colors that would compliment my background, but were still subtle.

I stamped all of the images with a black ink so they would really stand out against the background. I also adhered them with foam tape for the same reason.

To finish off my card, I added a simple ‘Celebrate’ sentiment from the Birthday Scripts stamp set and tadaaa!

I hope this post inspired you to create some fun backgrounds for your next cards! I think this technique would look amazing with so many images. I can’t wait to stretch my stash and try this with more of my stamps!

I’ll be back later this month with more spring inspiration! See you soon!

Spring Theme Week: Day 3

**All items in the Spring section are 15% off during theme week**

Good morning!  Welcome to Day 3 of Spring Theme Week!  Aren’t you loving all the happy, colors and images of spring? It’s Lindsey here today. Last fall I stacked two of the storybook dies to create little cubbies on a slightly larger A6 size card. I decided to recreate the collage look on today’s card giving it a spring refresh.

I started by adding some color to my card base with the Layered Butterfly Floral Stencils. They are full of darling images! Then I built my little cubbies by stacking the Storybook 1 and Storybook 5 dies and layered them a few times for depth.

Now comes the fun part: filling each one up!  Pretty Pink Posh has so many cute stitched dies, and I’ve use some of my favorites today. I started with the Stitched Butterflies and Stitched Birds.

Then I added a cute tulip from the Spring Mug Additions and built a little birdhouse using the Decorative Birdhouses dies. I love the mix and match options in that set!  I added a little foliage and flowers around the birdhouse using the Spring Foliage Dies and Spring Mug Additions

In the last cubby I placed a couple Stitched Eggs along with an embossed sentiment from Sentiment Strips: Easter.

I ran out of cubbies before I ran out of darling dies to use, so you have lots more options at your disposal. Make sure you come back tomorrow for even more spring cuteness, and don’t forget that this week all items in the Spring Section are 15% off, so you can pick up all of your favorites!
