Day 5: Valentine Theme Week + Daily Giveaways
Hello my adorable spooks! Justin here, and I am so thrilled to be jumping in to share a boo-tiful card for our Valentine Theme Week! I love all things Halloween, which, most times, doesn’t overly translate well to Valentine’s Day. But, with a little bit of Pretty Pink Posh die set mash-up, I was able to create an adorable Valentine’s Day card featuring the Ghost Holder die set!

Below is a list of Pretty Pink Posh products that I used to create this card:
Ghost Holder Dies
Valentine Holder Additions Dies
XOXO Pierced Plate Die
Heart Card Base Dies
Be Mine Shadow Dies
Large Boo Shadow Dies
Sweet XOXO Clay Confetti
For this Valentine card, I initially struggled with my card layout because I was planning on a heavy ink-blending route for this card. When that wasn’t turning how I had envisioned, I took a step back and thought “what about an approach that incorporates minimal ink blending?”, which is the final direction I went in for this card!
This card ends up using only 2 different ink colors: For the first, I die cut the XOXO Pierced Plate Die from aqua cardstock, and splattered it with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink. For the second, I ink-blended the edges of my Ghost die cut, which was originally from Stark White cardstock, with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink to give my ghost a slight bit of color. Everything else that appears on this card was untouched by ink!

I had the idea to make a custom sentiment by combining the Large Boo Shadow Dies and the Be Mine Shadow Dies, so that my card read “boo mine”. Truthfully, the “boo” sentiment is slightly larger than the “mine” sentiment, but the way the letters appear on my card doesn’t make it too noticeable! I had decided to die cut the words from navy cardstock, and adhere them on a slight angle towards the bottom of my card panel.
Using the Valentine Holder Additions Die Set, I dressed up the rest of my card with hearts. I gave my Ghost Holder a big red stitched heart to hold, and then I used the smaller heart dies that were included in the set for some further embellishments. I also had a larger red stitched heart die cut left over from a card that I created using the Heart Card Base Dies that I pulled in for some added variety. I used a couple different colors of red cardstock to add extra detail, and then also pulled in some white clay hearts from the Sweet XOXO Clay Confetti!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Pretty Pink Posh blog for some Valentine Inspiration! I hope this card leaves you with some fun ideas on how you can pull in some non-traditional holiday products to create cards for any holiday!

Such a cute holder! I started with scrapbooking when my crafty friend introduced me to it. Then when time became scarce, due to 3 kiddos under 4, I discovered the joy of cardmaking.
I got started in paper crafting back in 2004. Back then, I was a scrapbooker and loved making the scrapbook by hand and designing the scrapbook pages. But it was in 2010 that I started card making and never looked back. Nowadays (gosh I can’t believe I’ve been paper crafting over 20 years!), my family and friends will pitch a fit if they receive anything other than a handmade card for birthdays and holidays. Love this cute ghost card and the PPP release. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
I, like many people, started my crafting journey after attending a neighborhood Stampin’ Up party. That was probably almost 30 years ago…. gah!!
P.S.- Such cute holder dies!!
I’m still trying to wrap my head around why ghosts work for other holidays than just Halloween. The weird thing is, they do! Great card!

Twenty five years later and I am still obsessed!
I started out scrappbooking years ago, but when I retired, I joined a card making group in our community and have loved making cards for my family, especially the grandkids and for my church prayer group. Love the holder dies!
I really got into it when I went to a Stamping Up party. I thought: This is my thing!
I got swept into the world of paper crafting as a kid. I’ve always loved making things with paper and just kept trying new things all the time and still try to learn new techniques and related crafts when I can (like does Diamond art count?!)
Such a fun card using your love of Halloween! I first saw handstamped cards at a kiosk in a Seattle mall when I was visiting a friend. I had no idea how they were made, I wanted to find out. Not too long after that I moved back to my hometown and drove past a stamp store. I personally kept them in business for at least 2 years–haha!
Justin!! Thank you for showcasing another amazing way to use a ghosty! I love the PPP ghosts! I think they are so cute and can deff be used year round!!
I started paper crafting to get away from the world of digital design. I wanted to make things that had texture and depth. Something you could display and feel.
I got started in papercrafting when I attended a Stampin’ Up party. I did that for many years and then an Archivers store open close to me. That exposed me to so many new companies. The rest is history!!

Been a card maker since 1998 and started scrapbooking. It all started after attending a stamp party.
Like the background and the color combo! Nice card! Funny thing, I’d stroll the stamping aisle at Michael’s and always be confused as to all the products I’d see and think nothing of it, but one day while researching a craft project I came across Simon Hurley doing a tutorial with a lemon stamp and stencil and I was completely mind blown and hooked! From that day all I’ve been doing is paper crafting and learning all I can and I love it! I bought his set to remember how I got started.
I got started in scrapbooking as I wanted something that my mom and I could do together!

To be honest I am not sure how I got started at least 30 years ago. Back then we had several independent rubber stamp and scrapbook stores. Archivers use to do make-it take-it in store and another store held classes that my sister and I would go to. Unfortunately we have lost many of our rubber stamp stores.
I got started card making over 20 years ago when my husband bought me a Cricut and my co-workers were selling Stampin’ Up products.
I’ve been stamping since the age of when there were only black, blue, red, and sometimes one green ink pads and wood block stamps. These critters that hold things are absolutely ADORABLE…I need the full set!
How I got started in card making was way back in 2001. A friend was starting her Stampin’ Up business and asked her friends to come. I said I would come, but I AM NOT CRAFTY AT ALL! HA! The rest is history. I still enjoy making cards as much now as I did back then. I have seen many trends come and go since then. Thanks for a chance to win! :D

A friend of mine hosted a card making night and I fell in love with stamping that night.
Adorable “Boo mine” card, Justin!! LOVE the new dies with all of the critters having “holding” hands!! The teddy bear is my fav!! The answer to today’s question is that I started by taking a course for card making at my church and loved it so purchased stamps and inking supplies to start making beautiful cards to show my love to others I would send them too. I went back to scrapbooking 5 years later and combine the two supplies to use in both craft projects.

I made cards with stamps back then. In 2015 I got really serious about my card making and bought a die cutting machine and all of the fun toys to go with it! I have never looked back since and LOVE all things paper crafting.
I love the idea of a ghost for Valentine’s Day!
I have done crafting since I was young with my mom. I remember making paper weaved baskets for Easter for residents in a nursing home where my uncle was at. So fun.
I got started making cards on a whim after I bought my first house. A coworker gave me a housewarming gift and I wanted to do something special for her. So I went to the craft store, bought some cardstock and a rubber stamp, and I was hooked!
