Merry Shaker Tree

Hi, there! It’s Marge today and I’m so happy to share with you a Christmas tree shaker card I made using the new release products. My card features  the Tree Shaker DieElegant Holly stamp set and Berry Bright Confetti Mix from the new release.

To begin, I cut a piece of gold mirror card stock with Tree Shaker Die and then I die cut white card stock again for front panel. I adhered an acetate film on the back of white panel and then I adhered Tree Shaker Die cut on the acetate film window using glue.

Next, I trimmed a sheet of pattern paper into 4.125 x 5.375 inches, which would be used as shaker background. I placed Berry Bright Confetti Mix and 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins on the pattern paper first, then I covered it with my shaker front panel using foam tapes.

After I assembled the shaker, I stamped solid images of  leaves and berries from Elegant Holly Stamps Set on white paper using various dye inks to give color gradient, then I used copic markers to add more shades on them. I die cut the images using Elegant Holly Coordinating Dies and  applied Multi Medium Matte on the surface, then coated with Distress Dry Glitter. When medium was dried I adhered leaves and berries on top of the shaker. Finally, I put the shaker on red card base, then I finished off the card by adding Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix.

I love that the Tree Shaker Die can be used to make quick and easy shaker cards or it could be used alone to create beautiful dimension on your cards. Have a wonderful day.

Gradient Backgrounds on Holiday Cards + Video

Hi friends, it’s Rina here today. I am loving the new holiday release from Pretty Pink Posh.  I have been obsessed with ink blending from light to dark so I thought I would play with the new release and try this technique out.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Today I am using the Penguin Pals and the oldie but goodie Happy Snowman stamp sets.  I am also using the latest script dies which are so beautiful.  I absolutely loved how they looked on my finished cards.  I used the Season’s Greetings Script and Happy Holidays Script dies.  I also had to try out the Pine Sprigs dies and they are so elegant and delicate.

Here are the copic marker colors I used:

Grays – N0, N1, N3, N5

Blues – B02, B04, B16

Reds – R20, R22, R24

Orange – YR02

I am also featuring the latest jewel releases in the Holiday Mix and Starry Sky Mix. The different sizes, shine and color added extra bling to my card along with the Spectrum Noir clear glitter brush pen.

The distress oxide ink colors I used to blend the blue card were Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Mermaid Lagoon.  The red card was blended with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Candied Apple.  I colored the Pine Sprigs die cuts with Peacock Feathers on both cards.

I cut a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch panel and cut it twice using the Scallop Borders 2 dies to create hills.  I adhered them to my card base and arranged the images, pine springs and script die cuts.

Hope you try this out and thanks for stopping by!

November 2018 Release Now Available

The November 2018 Release is now available in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop and select retailers that carry our products. If you missed our post yesterday, we revealed all of the products in picture form, but if you would like to see them in a video, Eloise has you covered!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

The fabulous November release from Pretty Pink Posh includes a gorgeous Poinsettia stamp set. I love the floral sets from PPP as they are perfect for different colouring techniques.

I stamped my images with black ink and used my copic markers to colour them in. For the white flower, I used some neutral greys in N0 and N1, plus some YG01, which adds a hint of colour. I then die cut the images with the coordinating dies.

The Poinsettia stamp set includes leaves, but I decided to use some of the new Pine Sprigs dies on my card instead. I die cut them from white card and, before popping them out of the white card piece, I used my copics to add colour.

On my card base, I adhered a piece of red patterned paper. I then cut a piece of white card down, using one of the dies in the Scallop Borders 1 die set. On this panel, I embossed the greeting from the new Decorative Ornaments stamp set with gold embossing powder.

I added this panel to my card with foam tape. I used liquid glue to adhere the pine springs and the red poinsettias, then some foam tape for the larger white poinsettia.

I couldn’t resist embellishing the card with some Metallic Gold jewels for the centres of the flowers. This was a little fiddly but I love the effect. I also added some of jewels from the newly released Holiday Jewels Mix, which match the colours on this card perfectly.

Enjoy browsing the Pretty Pink Posh Shop full of the new products. There will be more inspiration with the new release and next week, we’ll have a two day blog hop filled with even more inspiration!

Sneak Peek: Elegant Holly

Hello! This is Caly and I’m sharing a card using the brand new Elegant Holly stamp set along with the new Ornament Shaker die today. The images from the Elegant Holly set are beautiful by themselves, but I thought I would use them on my project today to adorn on an ornament.

I started by stamping the images on Neenah Solar White 80 lbs cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I colored the images using various Copic markers and die cut them out using the coordinating Elegant Holly dies.  The following Copic combinations were used:  R05 and R29 for the reds, YG07, G03, and G09 for the greens.  I added white gel accents to the images and glossy accents over the berries and set them aside to work on my card front and shaker.

Yana has been making beautiful cards using colored cardstock lately and inspired me to make this one using a blue cardstock.  I started by die-cutting the Ornament Shaker towards the bottom 2/3 of the card front, knowing I would use my holly images towards the top of the ornament to decorate it.  I also cut the ornament cap using some gold glitter cardstock. After die-cutting, I carefully ink-blended some Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink around the ornament, stopping before I reached the ornament. Then I splattered the cardstock with some water droplets to remove ink to give the top panel more interest.

To create the shaker portion, I added a piece of transparent material that I cut from a storage pocket (that’s right, you don’t always have to use acetate).  I cut it down to size to adhere to the back of the shaker frame, then added 3M foam tape to hold the sequins and gems inside. I backed the ornament with some white glitter cardstock and glued down a few jewels from the new Holiday Jewels Mix. Then I filled the area with some Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix along with some sequins from the new Berry Bright Confetti Mix.  To assemble my card, I used a piece of gold thread and treaded it through the gold glitter ornament cap and started adhering the holly images around the ornament top.  I parted the gold thread a bit towards the top so you can see them better and held them in place using simple scotch tape on the backside before adhering the entire card front to a card base.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s project and will join us tomorrow as we do the full reveal!

Sneak Peek: Penguin Pals

Hello Pretty Pink Posh fans, Alix here sharing a sneak peak of this wonderful stamp set in our coming November release called Penguin Pals. I am so so in love with it as you could tell I made total of 3 cards to introduce it to you along with other new goodies!

I stamped all images from the Penguin Pals onto Copic friendly cardstock paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut them with the Penguin Pals coordinating dies. Then I cut my background panel from a piece of watercolor paper and colored with watercolor paints in Indigo and Quinacridone Pink blended together. Once the top surface was dried, I flicked white paint over it to create starry night effect. I manually added some bigger dots and stars by drawing them with a white gel pen.

I cut paper pieces from Layered Tree Die and assembled them into my white Christmas tree. I then copic colored the star to decorate the tree top. After I placed the tree onto the background panel, I arranged all colored images from Penguin Pals to selected places.

Since my background was busy enough, I stamped sentiment “Merry wishes” onto a piece of black cardstock paper and cut it into rectangular shape. I finished my first card after to popping my sentiment out by adding a piece of Foam tape..

On to my second card, I got inspiration from some google searches. You can not go wrong with Black, Red, White and Blue color combo.

I started to ink blended  onto an A2 sized watercolor panel with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass. Then I splattered white paint to create snow in the air. I needed to have some platform for penguins to stand on. So I cut the white border using the Scallop Borders 1 Dies. After attaching the border onto the lower part of panel, I glued some Glass glitters to create snow banks.

For the sentiment, I die cut Black and Red cardstock paper 3 times using Happy Holidays Script Die and glued them together to create better dimensions. Once it’s done, I attached it onto upper part of panel. At last, I added my cute penguins that I colored earlier and embellished the background with jewels from the Starry Sky Mix (new color from November release).

Pretty Pink Posh has the best shaker card supplements ever! How can I not make a shaker card?!

This card came together fairly straight forward. I wanted this shaker window to be the focal point of the card. So I did not do any background color blending but cutting a piece of A2 sized panel from white woodgrain cardstock paper.

To create the shaker window, I used Ornament Shaker die and cut my frame from red cardstock paper. For the top part of this ornament, I went for white glitter cardstock paper instead to make it more interesting. I attached a piece of acetate paper right under the cut out frame and added foam stripe to create dimensions for me pouring some Winter Days Confetti Mix. Then i attached this ornament onto the background to seal the window. I simply added two colored ice-skating penguins to decorate this ornament.

Now you have it! There is no way that you could pass on this stamp set and other new products which will be released on November 5th. Be sure to come back to check out more sneak peak projects from my teammates so you can get ready to shop!

Sneak Peek: Decorative Ornaments

Isn’t this a fun week with all the new Pretty Pink Posh products being revealed? I always love seeing what Paulina has come up with and the best part is getting to work with these products ahead of time to do a post announcing them! Today I get to show you two of the new products: the Decorative Ornaments stamp set and coordinating die set and the Pine Sprigs dies. They are both new favorites of mine as they work so well together. I have two cards to share with you using them today.

The Decorative Ornaments stamps are very detailed and thus really fun to color. I used colored pencils on them since the areas are fairly small. I went with a non-traditional color scheme for this card, but it is probably my favorite holiday color scheme.

For the background of this card, I used Tonic Glimmer Paste over a stencil to create the little dots. I felt they were just sparkly enough without being distracting for a background for the ornaments. I stamped the Decorative Ornament stamps on white cardstock with a light color ink and colored them in with colored pencils so they don’t have outlines.

I die-cut the Pine Sprigs dies out of silver cardstock, blue painted watercolor paper, and bright pink glitter paper. I layered several of them in each color to the top of the card and added a silver bow. I attached the ornaments below the bow and used an ornament topper on the one that showed from the Stitched Ornaments dies.  I die-cut the new Happy Holidays Script die from silver cardstock and glued that over the ornaments. I finished the card with some silver, light blue, and white jewels from the new Starry Sky Jewel Mix.

I stamped the Decorative Ornaments on white cardstock with a natural color ink again and colored them with colored pencils. This time I went more traditional with a gold background and red and green details. My gold colored pencil is metallic, so if you look at the card on an angle, it has a really gold sheen to it. My daughter asked me why I colored them brown, so I had to turn the card to show her they were gold!

I used a white gel pen for details on the flowers and leaves and then topped each ornament with a topper from the Stitched Ornaments dies die-cut from gold cardstock. I lightly inked the center of a white card base with red ink and attached the ornaments on top of it.

I die-cut the Pine Sprigs dies from green and gold cardstock and layered them along the top of the card so the ornaments look like they are hanging from a tree.  I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set on the bottom of the card and finished it with some jewels from the new Holidays Jewels Mix.

Thanks for visiting today and don’t forget to come each day this week to see other new products being debuted! I hope you like them all as much as I do! Thanks Paulina for another great release!

I then splattered the black background with white watercolor paint and colored the script with green Copic markers. I also added the new Holiday Mix Jewels that you can coordinate with your holiday projects.

For my second card I simply stamped the image on white cardstock colored the image with Copic Markers.

Sneak Peek: Poinsettias

Hi, everyone!

It’s Caly and I’m so glad you’ve joined me for today’s Pretty Pink Posh sneak peek!  I’ve made a card using the new Poinsettias stamp set and I’m excited to share it!  The stamp set is gorgeous and there are so many possibilities with it!  In fact, I had played with 3 different layouts before I decided to go with this one.  Let’s talk about how it was created!

I started by stamping the images on Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper using Ink On 3 Fade-Out No-Line Coloring Detail Ink (phew!  That’s a mouth-ful!). I used my MISTI tool because this ink is very light – the more times you stamp, the easier it is to see. There’s no way I could color with just one inked impression – so I inked it up at least 3 times. Then I used Daniel Smith watercolors in Quinacridone Red for the poinsettia, Gamboge for the poinsettias’ centers, and Sap Green for the leaves. The poinsettia images don’t have floral veins on them, so I painted them on to give them some extra interest and dimension.  After coloring and allowing the images to dry, I die-cut the images using the Poinsettia coordinating dies and set them aside to work on the card front.

In order to create the frame, I used a die from the Scallop Borders die set and had to cut all 4 sides of an A2-sized card panel.  I had to line them up just right to ensure I still got a rounded corner in all 4 corners but it worked out great!  Then for some extra color, I lightly ink-blended some Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink in the center of the panel, fading it out to the edges.

I placed the images where I wanted them, adhering them down with some double-sided tape.  For the sentiment, I die-cut the Happy Holidays Script die 3 times in black and once in gold glitter cardstock.  I glued the black sentiments together, then glued the gold glitter sentiment on top, off-setting it slightly so the black can be a drop shadow for the gold glitter cardstock because I was afraid it wouldn’t stand out enough over the watercolored images.  I glued the sentiment words right over the poinsettia images and finished my card off using some red jewels from the Holiday Jewel Mix.  I feel like I could’ve done so much more to embellish this card – glossy accents or jewels over the poinsettias’ centers, shimmer over the petals, white gel highlights – but I refrained and I’m glad I did because I think it’s great just the way it is.  I really hope you enjoyed this card! I can’t wait to color it using Copic markers!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for another sneak peek of our November 5th release!

Sneak Peek: November Die Cuts

Hi Pretty Pink Posh friends, Angelica here excited to share a sneak peek of the upcoming November release, which is everything Christmas! My favorite time of the year to make cards. Today we are going to focus on the stand-alone dies. There’s 7 in total (including two script words and two shaker dies!). I have used a few today in my pair of cards. Lets get started.

My First card I used the Pine Sprigs dies and the Stitched Ornaments dies. I die cut all the sprigs out with green cardstock, then used finger daubers and Distress Oxides Mowed Lawn and Ground Espresso to add color and texture.

Next I worked on the stitched ornament. I decided to use a stamp from the Poinsettias stamp set to decorate the bulb. I heat embossed the stamped image with embossing ink and Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder onto Canson Watercolor paper. I taped the paper down to a clipboard with purple tape, then scribbled on the petals with my Zig markers.

I heavily misted water on the flower and used my Wagner heat gun to start the drying process. When the paper was almost dry, I added a few shakes of Solar Flare and Cherry Bomb NUVO shimmer powders and resprayed again.  I then finished the drying process. The result was a beautiful shimmery poinsettia. I taped the stitched ornament die over it and cut it out. I also used the topper die to cut out gold glitter paper.

For the background, I used Distress Oxides Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, and Cracked Pistachio. I did an ink smooshing technique on my craft mat with anther piece of Canson watercolor paper. Once dried, I splatter white paint, dried the paper, sprayed a generous amount of shimmer spray, then dried the paper again. I trimmed the paper down to be my card front. I added a sprig at the top, tied a piece of silver embroidery thread around it and connected it to the back of the ornament. I attached the ornament towards the bottom of the card front with thin Scrapbook Adhesive 3D squares. I die cut a small bow from Twine and Bows die set out of pink paper, added shimmer with Wink Of Stella, and topped the bow off with a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze. I die cut the Season’s Greetings Script out of shimmer white paper and glued to the card front with Ranger Multi Media Matte. I attached the card front to an A2 size card base and added the bow once dried. My final touch was adding a single jewel to the bow from the new Holiday Mix.

Card 2:

My second card has a lot less steps. I die cut the Layered Tree dies out of green paper. I used Distress inks Mowed Lawn and Forest Moss to shade them with finger daubers.

Once shaded, I glued them to a strip of paper I cut from the same green paper. Next, I die cut the Happy Holidays Script and glued the words to the tree. I picked out a rainbow of pink and red cardstock, and die cut them with the diamond edge die from the Stacked Edges 2 die set. I then attached them to computer paper that I had ran through my Xyron Creative Station to add adhesive to the paper. Once the strips were stacked, I trimmed the the paper down for the card front and attached the tree using Glue Dots. My final touch was adding Holiday Mix jewels on the tree as ornaments.

I’m looking forward to diving deeper into this new release. There’s so many fun stamps to color and match up with these new dies! Join us tomorrow for more sneak peeks!
