Sneak Peek: Daffodils

Hello, Gemma here today and I’m excited to share with you a sneak peek of the beautiful new Daffodils stamp set. Daffodils are one of the first joyful signs that spring is on the way and they always make me smile.

I started by creating a background for my card. I blended twisted citron and mowed lawn distress oxide inks on to a white card panel, keeping the ink the lightest towards the centre.

Once this panel was dry, I layered the Layered Bokeh stencils over the top and blended white pigment ink through each one in turn.

I stamped a sentiment from the new Easter Bunnies stamp set. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink, as it stamps well over the oxide ink background. I then adhered the background on a card base.

Next, I stamped images from the new Daffodils stamp set. I coloured them with copic markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. In the stamp set, there are images of individual flowers and also a trio of flowers, so it’s easy to make a bouquet of daffodils.

I adhered the leaves and stems directly on my background, followed by a single daffodil flower. Before adding the trio of daffodils, I added a white glitter card frame onto the card. This frame is from the Heart Vines die.

I then adhered the trio of daffodils with foam tape, overlapping the frame slightly. To finish, I added some Pearl White jewels, along with some Nuvo White Blizzard glitter drops to the centre of the daffodils.

This stamp set is so perfect for Spring and Easter. Plus, there is a beautiful stencil that coordinates with it and also works with the coordinating dies.

Sneak Peek: Floral Corners

Hello, crafty friends! Leica here today with a sneak peek of the Pretty Pink Posh March 8th release. I have an A2-sized Mother’s Day card to share, using stamps from the new Floral Corners stamp set. I just love these florals and the design possibilities with this set are endless. Make sure to follow PPP socials for more inspiration from the design team.

Let’s begin! For the first layer, I die cut the new Pretty Petals Background die in white cardstock. You can hardly see it in this photo, but I promise, in person it adds a beautiful texture. The next layer is the rectangular piece from the Stitched Notes die, ink blended with Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose distress oxides. I then stamped the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment (from the Mom stamp set) and added black dots with black gel pen. And finally, I added a scallop frame that was inked in Picked Raspberry to frame the sentiment.

I then stamped the two floral corners stamps on Neenah 110lb white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Next, I cut the floral elements with their coordinating dies

I adhered all the layers down onto the card base with liquid glue. The floral corners were foam mounted for added dimension. Last but not the least, I added Sparkling Clear Jewels here and there to complete this beautiful Mother’s Day card.

These floral stamps are great for any occasion and make the perfect embellishments for your cards and other projects. I hope my card inspires you to use this beautiful stamp set.

Sneak Peek: Spring Eggs

Hi friends! Tammy here today sharing a sneak peek of some of the adorable new products coming to Pretty Pink Posh on March 8th!

For my project, I created a card and matching gift tags, featuring the brand new set, Spring Eggs, such a wonderful set filled with beautifully designed eggs! I combined my project with the Easter Bunnies Stamp Set, since they pair so perfectly together!

To create the slimline card, I cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock using the largest die from the Slimline: Peekaboo Windows Dies. I ink blended the background with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks, then I splattered on some watered down Picked Raspberry with a paintbrush to create some interest. Next, I added a 1 inch strip of cardstock, ink blended with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn to create a grassy border. I then added a white scalloped border using the Slimline: Scallop Frames Dies.

I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and die cut images from the following sets: Spring Eggs Stamp Set/ Coordinating Dies and Easter Bunnies Stamp Set/ Coordinating Dies

I arranged the images onto my card, using foam tape on some for dimension. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in black ink to complete my card.

I created some gift tags to coordinate with my card. I absolutely love making handmade gift tags; it’s such a fun way to add a special touch to any gift! To create my tags, I began by cutting two tags from Bristol smooth cardstock using the Scallop Square Tags Dies. I taped off the edges of the tag with washi tape and ink blended the backgrounds with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo, and Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. Next, I added a grassy border cut from the Nature Essential Dies, and ink blended it with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I arranged the colored images from Spring Eggs and Easter Bunnies onto the tags and stamped the sentiment in black ink. I punched a small hole in the tags and added some green bakers twine to finish up my project.

Clean and Simple: Off the Edge Cutting

Hello, Gemma in for another installment of my series. For my CAS card today, I’ve used a technique that Jennifer McGuire showcased a few years ago, called Off-The-Edge Die Cutting. I tried this technique out at the time and really loved the effect. It works really well for CAS cards too.

I’m using the new Party Days stamp set and coordinating dies for my off-the-edge die cut CAS card. I began with a piece of card cut to 8.5 x 5.5 inches, and I drew a pencil line down the centre of the longest edge at the 4.25 inch point.

I used washi tape to temporarily adhere the cupcake border coordinating die so it sits with part of the die underneath the pencil line, but most of it above. As I want to partially die cut this border, I placed the edge of my die cutting plate along the line, and ran it through my die cutting machine so it only cuts above the pencil line.

For the areas between the cupcakes that didn’t cut, I used a metal ruler and a craft knife. I am then left with a piece of card with the cupcake border cut at the top. The panel can be trimmed down to 4.25 inches high so it will still fit in a standard sized envelope.

At this point, you can stamp directly on to the die cut edge, but I decided to stamp and die cut a separate cupcake border to adhere over the top. By layering over the top, the partial die cut edge gives stability and the separate border means the copic colouring doesn’t show up on the reverse.
I coloured the cupcakes border with a pastel rainbow of copic markers, then die cut it with the coordinating die. Before adhering it to my die cut panel, I blended some spun sugar distress oxide ink onto the panel, fading it out to white.

I trimmed the panel down to shorter than 4.25 inches so I could add a patterned paper border. I adhered some rainbow paper on a landscape A2 card base, then adhered the panel so the cupcake border sits above the fold of the card. I adhered a thin black strip of card along the edge of the patterned paper.

To finish my card, I stamped a sentiment from the Let’s Party stamp set, then adhered a die cut Celebrate word die above it. I stacked the die cut with 3 layers for dimension, and partially inked the sentiment with picked raspberry distress oxide ink to tone in with the background.

How to Use Stencils Instead of Stamps

Hi crafty friends! It’s Mona here, today I am sharing with you a fun technique video where you will learn how to create amazing water-colored flowers using only stencils and watercolor mediums.

The key for this project is to have a floral stencil like the beautiful Peonies Stencil from the latest release.

For this project you will also need watercolor paper, a low tack tape, brushes, paper towel, mixing palette, water-based mediums and water. You can use either your brush markers or your watercolor palette. Just use what you like more, but I will show you both options in my video tutorial.

When the coloring was done, I continued with fussycutting and die-cutting all the colored images. Then I picked a light turquoise cardstock in size 5.5 by 4.25”.

The following process was the ink blending. I have used Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and blended the edges of the card front from outside to inside.

Next, I stamped the You Are Amazing and the Missing You So Much sentiments with watermark ink from the Everyday Greetings stamp set. Next, I heat embossed it with white fine embossing powder. When it was done, I splattered on it with white, and blue watercolors and let them air dry.

Because I wanted to break the background, I decided to create a white die-cut with the Scallop Frames Dies. I adhered the flowers to the frames with liquid adhesive, then I adhered the floral frame to the card with 3D foam squares.

In the end I embellished my cards with Sparkling Clear sequins. If you feel like it, give it a try, it’s so relaxing and I know the result will be amazing. Thank you so much for stopping by, see you next time.

Confetti Birthday Cake

Hi friends, it’s Leica. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. For this card, I used the new Birthday Cake Die Set.

First, I smooshed distress oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, and Spun Sugar onto an A2 size cardstock and cut using the Birthday Cake die set. I also cut one more time using white cardstock, which I then used to paper piece the balloons and cake.

For the balloons, I used Copic markers in BV02/00/000. For the cake, I brushed with Gathered Twigs distress oxide and ran through the die cut machine with the Lattice stencil for texture.

For the icing, I used the pink distress oxide inks smooshed cardstock and I added diamond dust on top using Glossy Accents. For the cake stand and candles, I colored with Copic Marker BG10. I then prepared my A2 card and stenciled the confettis directly onto the card using the new Layered Confetti Stencils in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Wilted Violet distress oxide inks.

Next, I adhered all the pieces onto the card and added sentiments from the Let’s Party stamp set. And lastly, I added a Metallic Silver Jewel in the center of the bow. I absolutely love this new Birthday Cake die from PPP.

It’s so much fun to put the pieces together and it’s fast and simple to create birthday cards with it. I know you will enjoy it too!

Clean and Simple: Sweet Valentine

Hello, Gemma here with a new post for my Clean and Simple series.

Adding texture to the background is one of my favourite ways to add interest on a clean and simple card. My card today features a tone on tone stamp and embossed heart background.

On a white panel of card, I stamped the heart images from the new Valentine Hearts stamp set with a clear embossing ink. I then heat embossed the images with a white pearl embossing powder. This gives a lovely pearly sheen in the light. You could use a clear embossing powder as an alternative.

To add even more texture, I used the Valentine Hearts coordinating die set to dry emboss around each image. To dry emboss with your dies, you need a tan embossing mat for your die cutting machine. This stops the die from cutting when you run it through the machine and embosses the shape into the card instead. As the die is slightly larger than the stamped image, it gives an embossed outline around the image.

Next, I stamped an image from the Floral Heart stamp set and coloured it with copic markers. I used these colours: Y14, YR23, B63, B66, R81, R83, R85. I then die cut the image with the coordinating die set, along with two plain die cuts to layer behind it for dimension.

To compliment the colours in the floral heart, I added some colour to a scrap of white card using the wide nib from my copic markers. This is easier than finding card stock to match. I die cut thin strips using the Stitched Strips die set and adhered them to the bottom edge of my A2 card base.

I trimmed down the embossed heart background panel, then adhered on my card base. Before adding the floral heart, I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set on the panel. I then adhered the floral heart so the sentiment showed in the centre to finish.

Emboss Resist Technique + Video

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here today with a clean and simple Valentine’s or love theme card using some of the newest Pretty Pink Posh release! I also have a video to share showing how this card came together!

I used the All My Love stamp set, along with the coordinating dies in a bit of a unique way for this card. I started off by stamping the center portion of the heart from All My Love on white cardstock, and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I then created a stencil with the smaller size heart die from the coordinating Die set, and blended Tattered Rose and Aged Mahogany distress inks over the heart. Next, I stamped the dotted hearts around that image, and die cut the entire thing out with the larger heart die in the set.

The sentiment was created using both the All My Love stamp set (for the smaller supporting sentiment), and Valentine Hearts stamp set. I love that the word “Love” has a coordinating die! I stamped and heat embossed it in gold on white cardstock, die cut it out, and then die cut two more times to layer together for a bit of dimension.

Finally, the background was created using the Lattice Stencil and Speckled Egg distress ink. I blended the pattern softly over my white cardbase. I added some gold splatters with my Gansai Tambai Starry Colors palette to pull coordinate with the gold embossing on the word “Love”, then adhered everything down, using foam adhesive for the heart. Finishing touch was to round the top right and lower left corner.

Elegant Heart Vines

Hello friends, Elaine here today and I am sharing a Valentine’s inspired card using the new Heart Vines die along with a sentiment from Valentine Hearts stamps and dies.

To start, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth card cut to 6”x 4.5” (I will trim this down later) and ink blended a layer of Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar all over the panel. Next, I blended on Distress Oxide in Victorian Velvet concentrating the color at the top of the panel and softly blended into the Spun Sugar to create a tone-on-tone gradient effect. I trimmed the panel down to 5.5”x 4.25” and distressed the panel by splattering on some clean water with a small paint brush, removing any excess water with a paper towel after 20 to 30 seconds.

While the panel was drying, I cut the Heart Vines die from heavyweight white cardstock and removed all the negative pieces. I glued the die cut vines panel on top of the ink blended panel with some liquid adhesive. To help give the leaves some extra dimension I used copic markers in the shades R81, R83 and R85 to flick on color at the base of each leaf. I love how this makes the leaves ‘pop’ and the R80 markers pair so nicely with the Victorian Velvet shade.

To embellish the centre of the open heart of I used the scripty stamp ‘Love’ from the Valentine Hearts stamp set and stamped it in Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide Ink on a scrap of heavyweight white card. I used the co-ordinating die to cut it out and secured directly to the centre of the heart. I adhered the whole panel to a white side folding A2 card base.

For some final embellishment I used the left-over piece of ink blended card and die cut some hearts with the strip of heart dies that are included in the Heart Vines die set. I secured them on to the front of the card and added glossy accents to each of them for some extra interest and shine.

Slimline Valentine Card + Video

Hi crafty friends! It’s Mona here, today I am sharing a sweet, calorie free slimline inspiration featuring the All My Love stamp and die set, the Valentine Hearts stamp set, and the new Slimline dies.

I started the cardmaking with die-cutting. I created heart shape die cuts in pastel colors with the smaller heart shape die from the All My Love set as well as light brown hearts with the larger one.

I have also created one more die-cut with the smaller heart die as a template for speeding up the stamping and heat embossing process. Then I stamped on the heart die-cuts with watermark ink and heat embossed with fine white embossing powder.

Next, I created shadows on the hearts with Distress Oxide Inks. I picked a slightly darker color then the current die-cut color. Check this process in the video here. When it was done, I have created the highlights too with white pencil and pen.

After this I adhered the heart die-cuts together and created the card base with the Slimline: Peekaboo Windows and the Slimline: Scallop Frames dies. These two dies work perfectly together. I have created a soft teal die-cut with the largest die from the Slimline: Peekaboo Windows set. I made a quick ink blending on it through the Lattice Stencil with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink. After the ink blending, I splattered on it with clear water.

In the end I embellished the card with White Hearts Clay Confetti. It’s just a nice addition to the cards.
