Summertime Kites

Hello there!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing kites everywhere lately. Seems like every blog I go on, there is a kite card somewhere to be found. I love the look of kites; they are so whimsical and you can make them so colorful. It’s been quite a while since I pulled out the kite from You’re Dandy. I truly love this kite- it’s the perfect size, and my friend Courtney designed it! (Speaking of her, I cannot wait to see her in a few days!!!)

Now for the deets of this card….. lately I have been trying many new color combos. Since it’s Summer, most of them have been bright. There’s something about bright colors that makes me happy. :) I pulled out some of Dawn’s fabulous sets to go along with this card- love how two of my friends have companies that coordinate so well together. :)

In just a few hours I’m leaving for CHICAGO. Tonight the plan is to get some Chicago-style pizza. I’m already looking forward to it!

I’ll talk to you all soon!! Thanks for leaving me some blog love. ;)

Bright & Happy

Good morning!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty restful. I know that this upcoming week is going to be crazy busy, so I purposely stayed low key these past few days. I was able to hit up a movie with my mom (Salt was awesome!), went to a local street fair, and of course, got some crafting done. I had to make sure I had some items to post while I’m away. ;)

Today’s card reminds me a lot of the sweet Kelly Marie’s style. She is always making such happy cards- especially with her stamp line. I pulled out Harold’s ABC’s and went to town. I haven’t quite decided who I’m going to give this to- there are so many people in my inner circle that deserve this card. Hmmm…maybe I should make some more….

Tonight is the night where I must finish all of my packing. Would you believe that I haven’t even started?! I know most of the things I need to bring, but I still need to figure out what I want to wear the days of the show. I need to be comfortable, since I’m working, but I also want to look semi cute. Recently there are days when I really wish I had a stylist…..my style seems to have disappeared and I really don’t know where it went. :( Oh yes, it might have to do with the fact that most of my “extra” money now goes to crafty items. I really need to have a balance. How do you all do it??

As always, I truly appreciate you spending a little time with me. Hope this card made your Monday! :)

Papertrey July Blog Hop

Are you amazed? Two blog posts in one day! It’s been a little while since that has happened! :)

This card was made specifically with the Papertrey July Blog Hop in mind. The theme: office supplies. I was hoping for something genius, but my creativity was lacking today. My sweet sister had some small silver clips, so that’s what I decided to use. I was going to do something with either paperclips or staples, but I just couldn’t think of anything super creative. I’m sure once I start browsing at the rest of the hop, I’ll find lots of great ideas!

Did you notice the fab Apple Basket? That’s from the new DeNami Design release. I LOVE these apples- they are so fun to color with Copics! I added lots of Papertrey stamps and finished off the card with some amazing wrinkled ribbon. Click here to see where I got my ribbon! The owner has so many colors to choose from, and she is super nice! If you buy anything, be sure to let her know PrettyPinkPosh sent you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. This card really makes me happy, and I hope it brightens your day as well. :)

Color Cue Challenge #6

Hi there blog friends!

I’m so sad that I haven’t had a chance to play with this fabulous Color Cue Challenge until now. (It’s been out for over a week now.) As usual, Dawn chose such a beautiful color combo- so fresh and fun! I love all of these colors separately so when you put them together, you can’t really create a “bad” card.

This particular card is pretty simple. I pulled out the gorgeous Mehndi Medallions set and went to town on the background. I simply love this border stamp- it’s so elegant and can be used in so many different ways! I also love the gorgeous fonts that are used for the sentiments! I would love to see a whole set featuring more of these types of sentiments. (Hear that Dawn?) *wink* Did you notice that gorgeous ribbon? I bought quite a few colors on this adorable Etsy store- click here to take a peek at the store! The owner has so many colors to choose from, and she is super nice! If you buy anything, be sure to let her know PrettyPinkPosh sent you. ;)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope this card inspired you to join in on the fun over at Dawn’s blog!

Elegant Purse + Video

Saturday greetings!

It’s been a few weeks since I posted a video, so I thought it was time to bring you another one. Today’s video shows how to use the fabulous DeNami Design purse template. If you are anything like me, you are normally intimidated by templates and such- I sure was! Now I love making these extra special templates- they are easy and so fun to decorate!

If you’re attending the CHA SuperShow, this is actually one of the Make N Takes in the DeNami Design booth! You’ll be able to get a firsthand glance at how easy they are, and you can go home with something pretty! For those unable to make the show, be sure to take a peek at the YouTube video tutorial below.

Wasn’t that easy? To decorate and color, it takes around 10 minutes. This is perfect to deliver gift cards or candy in. Who wouldn’t love to get a cutely decorated purse with some goodies inside?
Thanks for stopping by and watching my video! Be sure to check out my newly updated “for sale” section at the top of my blog!

Update

Hello all!
I don’t have a card to share today….I’ve been working on editing a new tutorial for you. I’m hoping to finish it in the next day or so- be sure to keep back on my blog for the video. :)
I want to thank you all for your understanding while I’ve been super busy with CHA prep these last two months. I’m guessing, but I know I made at least 260 cards in these past two months. Hopefully you can understand why I haven’t been blogging daily. Once I get back from my trip and things settle down at work, I’m hoping to get back into a routine and get lots of new cards on my blog. I hope you’ll bear with me…
In other news, I recently bought my first digital camera! Yup, I have never owned one before this week! I haven’t played with it yet; I just got a memory card today. I wanted to be sure I had a camera before CHA- I plan on taking lots of pictures and sharing them on here! Have I mentioned how excited I am about meeting fellow bloggers and also DeNami Design fans? In case you missed the news, I’ll be working during the whole CHA SuperShow in the DeNami Design booth #706. We are the very first booth you’ll see inside- you can’t miss us! The plan is for me to be on one of the registers. :)
Thanks for checking in. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

Adorable Owls

Hello there!
It’s the third Wednesday of the month- time for the product spotlight over on the DeNami Design blog! I just love this day! Seeing so many cards using the same stamps- a stampers dream to get inspiration using stamps they have, or been eyeing! This month we are featuring the adorable Owls stamp set. Owls have been around for quite some time, but I never saw any that I truly liked. I was beyond thrilled when I saw how cute these little ones were. On this card, I paired the owls up with lots of brand new goodies. (Scroll below for the complete supply list.)
Be sure to hop fly by the DeNami blog and take a look at the other fabulous DT samples. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on my card! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great rest of the day!

DeNami Sketch Challenge #3

Hello blog friends!

It’s the 20th which means it’s time for a new DeNami Design blog challenge! We rotate between our four categories (sketch, theme, color and theme)- this time we’re doing a fun sketch! Sketches are some of my favorites to do; they are easy to translate to your style, and it’s fun to see all the different takes on the same sketch!
For my card today, I knew I wanted to play with the Tulip Border. It’s been a little while since I played with this pretty stamp. I just love how it coordinates with the Scallop Tulip Circle, so I had to bring that one out too! :) At the bottom I added one of the stamps from the Let’s Get Together set. Have I mentioned that I love the style of this sentiment before? Man, I wish I had writing like that…..
I hope you’ll play along with this FUN sketch! For this particular one, you don’t have to use DeNami stamps, so there is no excuse not to join in on the fun! You have until July 30th, 11:59 PST to play. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Have a fabulous Tuesday! I’ll see you tomorrow with my DeNami Design Product Spotlight post featuring some adorable stamps!

O Happy Day

Hello there!

I hope you’ve been having a great weekend. As usual, I’ve been staying busy. I was finally able to semi-straighten my craft studio. Oh goodness, has it gotten bad. I’m dreading getting the vacuum out and straightening the stamps. Since I’ve been creating so much lately, I’ve been super terrible at putting them back. I need someone to come and clean/ straighten all of them!

It’s been a little while since I pulled out my Papertrey stamps out. I wanted to do something fresh and fun and thought I’d bring out Turning A New Leaf. I just love these leaves! I used my new Big Scallop Square LG dies. It wasn’t too long ago when I didn’t have any Spellbinder dies. Now, I have so many, I forget which ones I have! :)

I must share with the world my news- I’ve finished the BIG CHA display that I have been working on! I honestly wasn’t sure if I could pull it off….10 brand new boards= approximately 150 newly created/ designed cards. Lots of cards didn’t “make the cut” – I wanted to only bring you the very best. I’m excited (and NERVOUS) about them making their debut at the CHA SuperShow. For those who can’t make it to the DeNami Design booth at that show, don’t worry! It’ll be going around to the rest of the shows this year!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my good news. Now that I’ve completed this mighty big task, I’ll be able to (hopefully) post more often to my blog and create for publication calls again! Really looking forward to that….

Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Turning A New Leaf, Round & Round (PTI)
Paper: White, Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse, Dark Chocolate (PTI)
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Versamark, Tea Dye Duo (PTI)

Other: Spellbinders Big Scallop Square LG dies, Hawaiian Shores grosgrain ribbon (PTI), button, twine

Embellish Ric Rac Color Challenge

Yippee! It’s time for another fabulous Embellish Color Challenge! This time the challenge was to use orange, turquoise, brown and kraft in addition to some ric rac. I’m so loving these colors together- it’s so unique and fresh! (It also seems to be very popular….)
A few weeks back I ordered the stunning Mehndi Medallions set, but haven’t had a chance to play with them until now. As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew this was the set I needed to use. I love the look of these medallions- completely different than anything else I own! Did you see how I used my ric rac? I used it as a border on my middle panel! Pretty neat, huh? If you don’t have any scallop punches, you could easily use a ric rac one and create your own. :)
I have lots planned for the weekend, so I’m not exactly sure if I’ll be able to post again. I’ll do my very best though! I have lots and lots of cards to share with you. :)
Thanks for spending some time with me. I hope you were inspired!
