Sequin Butterflies + Giveaway

Give me a S-E-Q-U-I-N-S! What’s that spell? Sequins!  Okay, so I would never qualify as a cheerleader…

I’m back with another card featuring sequins- this time in a slightly different form. I wanted to showcase how you could use your die cuts to allow your sequins to peek through and shine. I had so much fun picking out the sequins to feature on this card- there are so many color combinations I could use!

To adhere my sequins, I covered a sheet of cardstock with ATG tape and then lined up all of my pretty sequins. Once I had covered all of the paper, I overlaid my die cut chevron paper with dimensional tape. I will admit that it takes a bit of time, but for close friends or family, it’s worth it.

  9. Paulina, this is a stunner! I love the stripes of color, negative die cuts and that fab chevron paper. I love it!!! So creative and perfectly executed! It’s pretty hard to choose just one fave color, but I think I’ll go with teal or turquoise…it reminds me of a mermaid’s tail…a throwback to childhood dreams :) Thanks for the chance to win. You are so generous! xx

  11. Wowsers! Thats alotta sequins! But such a good and glittery effect on your butterfly card. I don’t own ANY sequins (yet) but I’d have to go with red as a favorite colour, for adding that POP to a special project.

  16. OMG!! Thank you for the chance to win this!! I guess my favorite color is light pink.

  17. Cute card!! I love the colors you chose!! I have been seeing the negative technique everywhere, but I think your the first thatvi’ve seen using the ATG tape to adhere them down!! I’ll have to try this because on my Easter cards I used tombow mono glue and let it get tacky before I set my sequins!! I used tweezers to place them, but it was still tricky!! Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win!! Have a Fabulous Easter Weekend!! ;)

  18. Wow, what a labor of love! So pretty. I must use up the sequins that were my mother-in-law’s and get new sequins in these fabulous colors!

  19. The Mermaid colored ones above look like a color I’d use more often than others, but any sequins would be put to good use in my stamp room. Thanks for the chance to win some! Your “sequined” butterflies are beautiful.
