You Make Me Smile

Happy Friday!!
Boy, am I glad that the weekend is here. For some reason, this week seemed to DRAG on forever. Definitely looking forward to catching up on some sleep, and I’m in desperate need of hitting the gym hardcore with all the food I’ve been eating. (See fitness blog for details)

Today I have another card to share that features Spring Silhouettes by Wilson Designs. Recently I have been OBSESSED with Kim’s sets….I made five cards with them in two days! This one is super simple, but I love it.

I used the Spanish Moss and Imperial Purple ink pads on this card. Have I mentioned how much I love Versafine ink pads? I have them in every color, and I cannot wait until they release more. :)
I ended up stamping all the purple butterflies first, then I used I did the other color. It’s so much easier to do it this way then go back and forth between inks…. I just eyed the spacing- hence them not being absolutely perfect.
I hope that this card made you smile. YOU all make me smile, so I dedicate this card to all of you. :)
Hope you have a great weekend! Be sure to check out Kim’s adorable stamp set here

PDCC #73

Hello there!
I am beyond excited to be joining the super talented ladies at PDCC as a guest designer this week. I must admit, I was a tad bit intimidated to be among such great cardmakers. Here are all these big names and then there’s lil ‘ol me. :)
When I first saw the colors of this challenge, I was scared. After playing around with a few different options, I finally came to a card that I thought was worthy to be displayed with all of the other PDCC designers.
Here is what I came up with…….

Man of you know I’m utterly in love with the new Elephant from DeNami Design. He has so much character, and he’s fun to color and paper piece! In addition to this cutie, I used the Teeny Swiss Dot, Mini Heart, Three Line Border and Medium Polka Dots.
The challenge runs now until next Tuesday, March 22, 2011. There’s a $25 DeNami Design gift certificate up for grabs, and after you check out the AMAZING cards by the DeNami DT AND the PDCC girls, I’m sure you’ll have quite a little wish list. :)
  • Be sure to check out the Play Date Cafe blog for the challenge details and the samples by the team.
  • Check out the DeNami blog tomorrow for the sample cards by the DeNami DT featuring these challenge colors.
Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog! Hope you’ll join us in the challenge!

Happy Sea Friends

Happy Monday, sweet blog friends!
Thank you all SO much for the sweet blog comments you left for my Floral Frenzy Blog Hop card. If you haven’t hopped along yet, be sure to do so by tonight. Those who comment are eligible for DeNami gift certificates! :)
Today I have a bright and cheery card to share. I am utterly IN LOVE with the little critters from the recent DeNami Design release. Seriously, how stinkin’ cute are these sea friends?! They make me so happy!

If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I am in love with my Copics. I have been a little carried away….I have five buckets filled with them…yeah, need to get a better storage solution for them, they are taking up so much space!
Here you can see the sea friends a little better. Hard to resist them, right? Good news….DeNami is having a celebration promotion so be sure to check that out. We are giving away lots of free things- click here for all the details
Hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

Floral Frenzy Blog Hop

Hello there!
I’m so excited it’s time for another DeNami blog hop! Each and every time a new one comes along, I am blown away by the creativity of the design team and the blog hop participants. I’m sure this one won’t be any different! The name of this hop: Floral Frenzy
I was trying to decide which stamp to use, and I came across this oldie but goodie, the Hydrangea Cluster. I have always thought this was a pretty stamp, but haven’t used it much over the years. Now, after playing with it, I’ll definitely be pulling it out more often! This is such a fun one to color!

My sister recently got engaged, and her wedding colors are similar to those in the card: purple, green with hot pink flowers. It’s going to be SO pretty! I know she is pretty stressed with wedding planning- I think I’ll send  her this card, since she was the inspiration! :)
I know you’re anxious to get to the next stop on the hop- Ayana Posadas’ blog! I am super excited to see what this girlie created- she always has amazing creations!!
Just a reminder: there are TWO gift certificates that will be given, so be sure to comment on each blog for your highest chance of winning! If you want any of the details, click on over to the DeNami blog
Have a great rest of your Sunday, and happy hopping! :)
Other: Quickie Glue Pen, Magenta glitter, Amethyst glitter, Spellbinder die, purple ribbon

Daisy Hugs

Good morning!
As most of you have probably seen, there was a recent Paper Craft publication call that was super popular. They received over 2700 entries- can you imagine being one of the editors?! I have trouble deciding on picks with the DeNami challenges (and we usually don’t get more than 20 entries), I cannot even fathom having to narrow items down from that huge number.
Anyhow, back to the point of my explanation….I submitted a few cards for the publication call, but didn’t get any happy emails. Granted, I wasn’t really expecting to, but it would have been a nice surprise. :)
Here is my submission for one of the sketches……

I thought this was such a unique sketch, I just had to give it a try. Stuck with a simple design- really wanted to showcase the fun sketch.
Here you can really see all the different colored daisies. I just love the Small Daisy Blossom– it’s such a great image for backgrounds! To make it a little more special, I added some colored rhinestones to bring out the daisy centers. It’s the little details that make a card. :)
Thanks to the lovely Amber, I don’t have to let this card go to “waste”. She is hosting this blog hop that is a genius idea. Be sure to check it out.
Hope you all have a super great Friday! It’s off to an appointment then the gym for me!

Just Because

Good morning!
Today I have a fairly simple card, but I just love it. I love the blues and the sentiment is great! I had originally created this card for a publication call, but with my busy weekend, I didn’t end up getting around to submitting it. (Along with 6 other cards) Guess that’ll teach me to procrastinate……
I pulled out the WPlus9 sets Funky Foliage (for the sentiment) and The Birds & The Bees. I think these flowers are just too cute, and they are so much fun to color with Copics!
Like I said, simple card, but it’s great for just about any occasion. To me, those are the best kinds of cards! :)
Hope you all are having a great week. It’s been a little crazy, so I haven’t been able to post much. Hopefully I can get back into it soon!

Totally Hues Challenge #3

Saturday greetings to you!
Today I have a card that was based off of Heather’s lovely Totally Hues Challenge #3. I normally don’t bring out a lot of oranges, so this was a fun challenge! As usual, Heather created a super adorable card to inspire us all.

After pondering which stamps to use, I finally decided on the Owl Trio as my main stamp. I just love these little guys, plus, how fun is the You’re A Hoot sentiment?!
As I type, I’m getting ready to go on an overnight trip with my engaged sister. Her branch won a campaign so they all get to go to a resort with the expenses paid! :) It’ll be fun to get a way for a bit. Also, tomorrow we’re going to get her measured for her dress, along with looking at some bridesmaids dresses- should be lots of fun!
Hope you all have a super great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Two Sweet Owls

Hi, sweet blog friends!
Today I have a card that features stamps by Wilson Designs! I always love supporting new businesses, especially when they are owned by sweet people! :) Kim is definitely a sweetheart, and her designs are super fun!
Here’s my card featuring the owl that’s in the Everything’s Owlright set….
I paired up the owl and branch with the DeNami sentiment: Owl Always Be Your Friend. Loved that I was able to pair up both DeNami and Wilson Designs!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope this card brought a smile to your face. :)

Sending you Love Bicycle

Happy Monday!
How are you, sweet blog friends? I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was extra long, with my snow day, but it was AMAZING! I got a ton of cards made (for publication calls) and got some intense workouts in. In addition, I got a new toy…..I’ll post it at the end….
Today’s card was a reject for a pub call, but I still like the card. :) I did something different for this one- I stamp the sentiment multiple times (in two different colored inks) and created a “patterned paper”. I love this look- going to be doing this again!
Okay, now onto my new toy…..
I FINALLY got an iPhone! I don’t think I ever mentioned wanting one (on here), but I’ve been wishing for one for quite a while. I’ve heard so many great things about them, and with a larger than normal tax return, I went ahead and got one yesterday. I spent all of last night playing with it, downloading apps, and looking at different cases. There are so many neat apps- I’ve gotten quite a few already. I know many of my crafty friends have iPhone- what are YOUR favorite apps? I’d love to check them out!
That’s all for today. Thanks for visiting me today- I always love hearing from you all. :)

Color Cue Challenge #12

Hi there!
I’m so happy that I could play along with the Color Cue Challenge #12! I have to confess, these colors looked way too hard at first, so I put it off for a bit. After being “stuck in a rut” for a while, I figured I should just give it a shot. Here is the result….

I haven’t really had a chance to play with Poinsettia Patterns much, so I thought this would be a good time to pull it out. I think it works really well with Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions. What do you think?
I didn’t think I had inks to match this color combo, then I remembered my Brilliance ink pads! I used Jade and Purple. They work together so well! Then, just to add a teeny bit of bling, I used my Lavender rhinestones.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed today’s card!
