DeNami Color Challenge #6

Hi there!!
Snow is coming down steadily over here in Washington. I tell ya, we have some of the strangest weather. Yesterday, within 10 minutes, it was blindingly sunny, then it started to snow like crazy!
Since I wasn’t able to make it to the gym yesterday (because of the snow), I decided to play along with the super fun colors of the DeNami Color Challenge #6. Lisa did an awesome job with her picks!

I actually struggled a bit with this one- something I tend to do when there are only three colors to play with. I think my mind freezes because I’m used to using lots of colors! :)
For this card, I decided to pull out the super adorable elephant from the Safari Animals stamp set. A long way back, I created a card with a similar idea- it’s still one of my favorite “kid cards”.
Isn’t that elephant darling? I had the hardest time resisting putting a marker to him! Can’t you also see it paper pieced? I see those ideas running through that mind of yours. ;)
If you have a DeNami stamp, check out the blog so YOU can play along in this challenge too! Even if you don’t have a DeNami stamp (yet!), be sure to hop on over and take a look at the FABULOUS cards by the design team!
Talk to you soon!

Happy Whales

Hi there!
It’s been a few days since I’ve written. I had an extra long weekend (four days off), so I took that time to just relax. I had all these ideas of what I wanted to do, but hardly did any of it! One thing that I DID do….I took an day trip to Portland with my sister and BFF. Yes, we’re crazy like that. ;)
I just realized when I put the watermark on this card, that I JUST posted a get well card. I created quite a few for a recent publication call, so hopefully you don’t mind seeing another one! Like the previous one, this will hopefully bring a smile to the receivers face.
I pulled out my Spellbinders Labels Five as my focal point. I love the shape of this one- it’s so unique! Then, under the whales, I added a one of the shapes from the Ribbon Tag Trio set. Can you tell I’m addicted to Spellbinders? :)
Here you can see that I “highlighted” one of the whales. I paper pieced the whales with some polka dot paper. Paper piecing is great if coloring isn’t your thing, or just to add a fun pattern.
Thanks for stopping by, sweet blog friends!
Paper: White, Fine Linen, Blueberry Sky
Ink: Onyx Black, Antique Linen
Other: Olive rhinestones, Spellbinders dies, EK Success border punch, polka dot paper, olive grosgrain

Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday to you!
It sure it a good Saturday for me. Why? Because I still have three more days of my extended weekend! I love when holidays are on a Monday! Hoping to catch up on some publication calls and possibly pick up a new purse. :)
Today I have a recent reject from a publication call. I actually have quite a few to share with you, but with my crafting time being semi limited lately, I thought I’d space them out.
I don’t know about you, but when I’m sick, I want to see bright colors to make me happy. Can you imagine receiving this card when you were feeling under the weather? I’ve actually never received a “get well soon” card, but I think I’d enjoy getting one like this. :)
Recently I’ve been pulling out my WPlus9 stamps out a lot more. It makes me sad to see them unused! I used one of the stamps in Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions for my focal point. LOVE this image!
I hope you have a super great weekend. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love today! ;)

Yummy Espresso

Hi there!
So….I’m still in the Valentine mode…well, at least in the colors of today’s card. Today I have a card featuring an oldie but goodie DeNami stamp: Espresso Scene.  I haven’t used this stamp in F.O.R.E.V.E.R, so it was super fun to pull it out again!
You know how much I love polka dots- they make such a perfect background on cards. For this card, I used the new Medium Polka Dots. Can’t tell you how much I LOVE this stamp; I could seriously use it on all my cards. :)
I wanted to create super sparkly cups, so I brought out my Quickie Glue Pen (only $3.00!) and applied both Magenta and Ruby Red glitter. If you enjoy colored glitters, be sure to check out the awesome selection here
Oh, for those who don’t follow my fitness blog, I posted my latest weigh-in results today. Slowly, but surely, making progress! :)

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hello there!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Before I start on my post today, I want you all to know that I truly {heart} you all! Thank you for always leaving such sweet comments and for visiting my blog(s). You all are such sweethearts!

Today I have a card that features lots of things that I love: polka dots, buttons and a bow! :) For my focal point, I used the Large Open Umbrella, then paired it with the new Happy Valentine’s Day. They are both whimsical, so they go great together!
If you’ve followed my blog, you know that I love paper piercing. Yes, it’s time consuming, but I think it adds a lot to a card.  (One time, my sister said it was a waste of time to do it…..)
I hope you all have a very special day! {{big hugs}}

Beautiful Buttons Blog Hop

Hello there!
It’s time for the February DeNami Blog Hop! I always get so excited for the second Sunday to roll around….the DeNami Blog Hops are always chock full of amazing inspiration. I know that this time will be no exception.
If you started from the beginning of the hop, you should be coming from sweet Ayana’s blog. I can only imagine the beauty she has created!
My card today features buttons as accents. Recently, I’ve been putting rhinestones on top of my buttons and LOVE the look. It brings a little extra special to the cards plus, this is a great way to use the tiny buttons you may have.
I pulled out the new Rainbow stamp, which I can’t get enough of. To change it up a bit, I used pastel colors for my rainbow. THEN I added a doily, which I thought looked great on this card.
It’s off to the next stop on the hop: Karen Larkin’s blog. Be sure to comment on each blog for your highest chance of winning. There are THREE $20 gift certificates up for grabs; who can resist mini shopping sprees?  On top of the hop, we have a special challenge that coordinates with the blog hop- both participants and blog hoppers can participate. Check out the DeNami blog for all the details!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great rest of your day!

Puppy Love

Hi there!
Thank you SO much to those who left me congrats on my last card being accepted for publication. The card will be featured in the July issues of CARDS, so it’s only a few months away! (Perfect month too….it’s my birthday that month!)
I had so much fun creating for the Lawnscaping Challenge:All About Love…I created another card! For this one, I decided to create a little scene. :)
I just love coloring this dog with my Copics. It’s the perfect size, and it’s fun to *try* shading. You’ll notice, I also tried my hand at doing a little shading on the tree. Someday, I’ll master it….
Have you ever seen a glitter tree? Yeah, neither have I, but I would love to someday!!  I just took my Quickie Glue Pen and covered the tree, then sprinkled Extra Fine glitter. Easy and quick, but super amazing results!
Hope you enjoyed this card! If you missed my other entry for the challenge, you can find it here

Belated Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday!

I don’t know about you, but I am very excited that it’s almost the weekend. I don’t know if it’s my workouts or what, but I’ve been super tired lately. Hoping to catch up on some sleep on Saturday….I’ve been staying up way too late!

Today I have a card that was a reject from a recent publication call spoke too soon…it got picked up!!. I had high hopes for this one, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. This card features two very classic DeNami Design stamps: the Decorative Flourish and the Decorative Crest Circle. Love these two together!

My friend, Ashley Cannon Newell, recently had a card featured on the Paper Crafts website using the Decorative Crest Circle. After seeing that, it prompted me to pull it out again. (Thanks, Ash!)  Isn’t it awesome how one stamp can look completely different when used by different designers?

Here you can see that I added a few Black Rhinestones to the flourish. I think it’s the perfect finishing touch! Possibly elegant enough for the recipient to accept a belated birthday card. :)

You all are so fabulous- thanks for the influx in comments lately! I’m LOVING them!!

Love Seals

Happy Monday!
Hope you all aren’t tired of hearing from me. I know I’ve been posting quite often lately! Just in case you missed my last post, I created a card for the CR84FN14 challenge. Click here to check it out. I was super happy with how this one turned out; so full of pretty things!
Today I have a card created for the Totally Hues Challenge #1 AND the Lawnscaping Challenge #3. It’s not often that I create a card to fit two challenges, so this was a pretty big thing for me. :)
Heather’s challenge was to use Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuse, Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores. I must say, I’m usually not a fan of Hibiscus Burst, but I LOVE it with these colors. (Thanks Heather for making me go beyond my comfort zone!)
The Lawnscaping Challenge theme this week: All About Love. I took me a while to decide which animals I wanted to use, but finally decided on the seal. I hadn’t used it before, so what better time to pull it out than for this card!
Here you can see the seals, along with the hearts. I used the Mini Heart by DeNami Design, then added Citrone glitter. There’s nothing better than glitter hearts in my book! :)
A big huge thank you to everyone who has been leaving me comments on this blog, and my fitness blog. I have been so blessed by the sweet words- you all are the best!

CR84FN14 Color Challenge

Hello, blog friends!
I hope you all are having a great weekend. I’m sure many of you were watching the SuperBowl- hope you enjoyed it and your team won. :) Truth be told, I don’t understand football at all, so I never watch the games. Instead, I took a blissful Sunday nap and created some cards.
Lately there has been SO many amazing challenges in blog land. I have watched the CR84FN challenges from afar, but I couldn’t resist playing along with this color combo. (Brought by my friend, Sue Lelli!)

Here’s my take on this color combo…

I pulled out lots of new DeNami Design goodies for this card. I was leaning towards doing an everyday card, but I just couldn’t resist pulling out Valentine stamps for this challenge. Remember how I said I’m addicted to doilies? Yup, had to bring another one out again.

For those interested, here’s the list of DeNami stamps I used:
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I’ll have another card for you tomorrow- yup, I’m on a roll! :)
