Creating A Floral Arrangement + Video

Hello, Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Yana and today I want to share a floral card using the Build A Bloom stamp set.

This set features a number of parts and pieces to create your own unique flowers, leaves and floral arrangements. There are outline and corresponding solid images and also just outline and just solid images that don’t necessarily go together. So with this set you can chose to stamp your flowers and leaves outlines and color them using your favorite coloring mediums or stamp solid images using colored ink and have instant flowers and leaves. You can also combine a lot of these to have an outline and solid stamped color.

So quite a lot you can do and many different looks you can have. There is a set of coordinating dies available and these cut pretty much each and every shape out.

Watch my video tutorial below to learn how I made this card.

I started working on my card by die cutting the shapes out first. With tiny dies like these I prefer to keep them connected and cut them all at once first and do my stamping later. I feel this way I am saving a lot of time as for me it is easier to align a stamp over a small die cut shape versus align a die over a small stamped image.

I die cut a number of shapes out, I think I cut all of them 2 or 3 times and later had additional florals cut to have more flowers for my card.

Next I used various colors of ink and stamped my images. I picked 2 shades of green, 2 shades of yellow and 3 shades of pink for my stamping. I first stamped layers using lighter color of ink and later came in added a detail layer onto some of my images using a darker shade. So in a way this stamp set can be used as a color layering one where you build your flower using individual layers and different colors of ink.

To create a vase for my floral arrangement I used a Christmas ornament from the Winter Friends stamp set. I turned it upside down and colored using C3, C1 and colorless blender Copic markers.

I made my floral arrangement heavy on one side as I wanted to add a sentiment to the other side. I went with “Thinking Of You Today and Every Day”from the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set, but of course you can go with any other message you like.

Next I foam mounted my panel onto an A2 top folding card base and since I had some additional die cuts left I used them to add some flowers and leaves around the message. I also used small clear droplets and adhered those onto some of the flower centers for additional interest.

Happy cardmaking!

Creating with Nuvo Mousse + Video

Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I’m going to be using the Bold Blooms and Thoughtful Greetings stamp sets along with Nuvo Mousses to do a fun background along with some water colouring.

To begin my card today I first decided to do my background. I took four colours of my Nuvo Mousses – Aquamarine, Peony Pink, Pink Flambe and Citrus Green and then some sponges. I just used the foam ink blender sponges, but make-up sponges or anything like that would work. I dipped in my sponge into the mousse and then spread it across the top of my cardstock panel. I then repeated the steps with the other three colours to create my swiped coloured background. A little bit of a different background for me, but I love the swiped painted look it gives and these mousses have the best shimmer to them!

Next up I stamped out my images from the Bold Blooms stamp set onto some more watercolour cardstock. I used Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then clear heat embossed the images so it would be easier to watercolour them. To mix up my paint, I used a palette knife to take out a little colour out of each of the jars, popped it into a palette and sprayed the colour with water and mixed it around with a paint brush. This mixed up the colour nicely and it keeps that shimmer which is amazing.

I water coloured in my images like normal with each of the colours of mousse. I also pulled the Antique Gold colour to colour in the centre of the flowers. I loved water-colouring with these as it was so super easy, they moved just like regular watercolours and really the only thing you don’t get is the shading but, like I mentioned before – the shimmer is amazing, so it makes up for it! It’s like using metallic watercolours. I could have done that, but I like getting many uses out of my products. Once all my images were coloured and dried I die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Next up I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set onto some black cardstock and trimmed it out into a rectangle. I also used the Scallop Hexagon Dies to cut a banner edge into a piece of vellum. I first adhered down the sentiment strip onto the banner, overhanging the edge a little and then arranged my flowers around it, popping some of them up and leaving some flat. I then adhered my banner down to the coloured panel I created earlier.

To completely finish up the card I adhered my panel onto a grey card base with some fun foam and then scattered some 4mm Clear Droplets and 6mm Clear Droplets to finish it up.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you got inspired.

Creating A Watercolor Wreath + Video

Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I have a card and video using quite a few new items from the May release. I’m going to be using the Bold Blooms, Build A Bloom and also the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set, as well as the coordinating dies and the Scallop Borders 2 set.

For my card today I’m going to be using the watercolour stamping technique with Distress Inks to create a fun wreath using the flowers in both of the new stamp sets.

To begin my card today I first stamped out all my outline images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto some watercolour paper. I stamped out a ton of images since my wreath that I’m going to be making is going to be super full. I then pulled some colours of Distress Inks out and began my watercolour stamping. I first found the coordinating solid stamp, pressed it down into the ink pad and then spritzed it with a little water to reactivate that ink and then stamped it down onto the coordinating image. I repeated this step until I had coloured all my images. I love this technique, it’s super fast and I love how it never looks the same. You get dark and light spots, spots that aren’t always covered completely, it’s really fun!

Now that all my images had been stamped and dried completely, I cut them out using both sets of coordinating dies and set them to the side for later. I then took a piece of watercolour cardstock, and die cut the edge of it using the rounded die in the Scallop Border 2 die set. The mini scallops are so cute!

Now my panel was ready to assemble. I first traced around a circle (I used a bowl) with a pencil so it was easier to make my wreath circular. I then laid down all my images around the circle to make my wreath. When arranging all the images I worked in odd numbers and a triangle pattern, to make it appealing to the eye. It’s rule of thumb that things looks better in odd numbers and threes, so that’s what I went for. Once all my images were laid out around my wreath with all the colours spread out evenly, I could stamp my sentiment. I needed to lay down all my images first to see how much space I had left. I used the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set and used the sentiment ‘Thank You For Everything You Do’ and stamped it in the center of my wreath with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Now my sentiment had been stamps, I could adhere down my images. For all my leaves I used liquid adhesive and then used the foam tape for the flowers.

Once everything was adhered down I took a piece of yellow patterned paper and adhered it to the bottom of my card base. I then took a piece of fun foam and adhered it down to my panel and then to my card base so it could have some dimension. To finish up my card completely I used some Wink of Stella in the clear and also some Clear Droplets in the 4mm and 6mm size.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video today and were inspired to try this technique, it’s a lot of fun!

Adding Details to Images + Video

Hello, Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Yana and today I wanted to share a quick technique video to show you how easy it is to add details to colored images.

I started working on my card by stamping and coloring 3 images from the Friends Forever stamp set. I used Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink for stamping and double stamped images using MISTI stamp positioner to have the blackest black outline possible.

There are coordinating dies available for this set so I cut my images out and quickly colored them using Copics. I used E79, E37 and E33 to color hair; E00 and E000 to color skin; R20 to add blush. To color outfits I used RV14, RV13 and RV10 for pinks; B05, B02 and B000 for blues; YG67, YG17 and YG03 for greens.

While my images looked great as is I decided to add little details to make them unique and a bit more personal. Think about it this way – in real life we all wear fabrics with different patterns. So I wanted to translate some of those patterns onto these images. There are a number of ways this can be done, some are simple, some not so much, I used the most simple and easy way – a white gel pen.

If you don’t have a white gel pen – you can also use a black pen or you can even use a Copic colorless blender to add detail. If you have a colorless blender in a bottle you can look for a piece of fabric with some texture, say burlap, wet that fabric with colorless blender and use it to stamp over the outfits of these images – that will transfer the texture of the fabric onto the image and will create same looking texture on your images.

I used a white gel pen and added little dots, vertical and horizontal stripes. You want to make sure to wait for your Copic coloring to dry, especially if you have really saturated paper with the marker as it (the marker) might eat up your white pen, I’ve had that happen in the past, so before adding the white detail – make sure image is dry.

I ink blended a hill to create a scene and foam mounted my friends on top. I also added little bees from the Bee Friends stamp set I adhered several sequins from the Sparkling Clear Mix and I also added clear droplets on top. I love to combine the two together as this way I feel my droplets look even more dimensional.

Distress Oxide Inks + Giveaway

Hi there! Laura Bassen here and today I have a couple of fun projects to share using the Distress Oxide Inks along with some Pretty Pink Posh products.

Watch the video above   I   Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I had so much fun experimenting with the Distress Oxide inks using some of my favorite techniques. Below is a few backgrounds comparing the regular Distress Inks to the Oxide Inks. The top two were simple ink blended backgrounds with flicks of water using Wilted Violet, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio & Fossilized Amber. The Oxide Ink panels are on the right and the regular Distress Inked panels are on the left. The bottom two panels were created using one of my favorite techniques “ink smooshing”. I used Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade & Fossilized Amber. You can see that the results are slightly different. Not a huge difference, but there is a difference.

Then I used the Oxide Ink backgrounds to create a couple of projects. This first card features the Bee Friends stamp set along with the coordinating dies.

I used the arch die from the Stitched Duo 3 dies & the rectangle die from the Stitched Notes dies to create a shaker card. I filled the shaker with Sparkling Clear, Bermuda Blue, Peridot Mist, Blue Lagoon, and Ocean Spray sequins.

This next card features the adorable Friends Forever stamp set with coordinating dies.

I simply colored the images with Copics and popped them up over the “ink smooshed” background and added a few Sparkling Clear sequins to finish it off.

GIVEAWAY: Want to win your own set of 12 Distress Oxide Inks? Paulina is giving one away to one lucky person! Leave a comment on this post sharing your top 3 current favorite crafting products. Comments must be left by May 9th at 11:59pm, PST. Winner will be announced later that week.

One Stamp Set // Three Cards + Video

Hello everyone, Eloise here and today I have a 1 stamp set, 3 cards video for you all. I’m going to be using the Friends Forever stamp set today since there is a lot of images as well as a lot of sentiments, which is what I want. Along with the stamp set I’m also using a few Pretty Pink Posh dies and sequins, too.

For my first card today, I used the Window Frames dies to create an opening into some watercolour cardstock, ink blended some Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Ink on top of the panel and created a shaker card using the Friendship Mix, Petunia Seed Beads, Sparkling Clear Stars and Sparkling Clear Seed Beads. I used a double layer of foam tape, since I wanted a lot of shake to happen. I sealed off the shaker using some white cardstock.

On top of my window shaker, I added some images I previously coloured with my Copic Markers and then adhered them with glue dots. For my sentiment I used some Twisted Citron Distress Ink onto some more cardstock and cut out a banner using the Stitched Notes dies. I then stamped the ‘Love You’ sentiment from the Friends Forever stamp set on top of the banner with black ink. I added foam tape onto the back and added onto the top of my panel. I then wrapped around some hemp cord and tied a bow. I mounted the entire panel onto a blue card base and the card was complete.

For the second card, I die cut the Stitched Film Strip from some white cardstock first and then moved onto my background. I laid out my elements on the background first to see where I wanted everything placed, once I knew I took some Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and used a piece of acetate, smooshed the ink on top, sprayed it with water and pressed down onto the cardstock. I repeated this until I was happy with the result. I then dried it off with a heat tool and stamped the sentiment ‘Hello Friend’ on the left with black ink.

I then adhered my kids that were previously coloured also with Copic Markers and adhered them to the back of the film strip. I then added foam tape all along the back and adhered it down to the card panel. To finish it up I added some Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix and then adhered the entire panel to a card base.

For my third card I first cut a piece of watercolour paper with the frame die that comes in the Stitched Notes die set. Once that was cut I used the Peekaboo Windows dies and cut the rectangle one out of the panel and also out of some masking tape. I then masked off the windows and used the Twisted Citron Distress Ink to colour the top of my piece and then fading it out to white. Once the green was blended I used the negative masking tape piece and placed that around the windows and used some painters tape to help hold it down and then used the Squeezed Lemonade to do the same inking to the windows. I then splattered on some water and dried it with a heat tool.

After everything was adhered and dried, I added my sentiment ‘I’m So Glad That We’re Friends’ from the same Friends Forever stamp set and stamped that underneath the windows with some black ink. I then went ahead and added adhesive to the whole back of the die cut panel and then added my images behind the window. I then added some foam tape behind the entire panel and kids and then I added some colour onto my card base. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and ink blended it onto my card base, blending it out to white. I added my panel on top and my card was complete.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and got inspired! I love using a stamp set more than once, but sometimes struggle to use it again once I’ve already used it! So this works great if you colour a ton of images at once, then make so many different cards with them all.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stretching Your Die Cuts+ Video

Hello everyone, Vera here sharing another way to use Easter Friends coordinating dies as a non–Easter project. With a little imagination, you can create all sorts of characters with some of the dies you may already have in your stash!

For this project, I also used Friends Forever Coordinating Dies, Friends Forever Stamp Set and Everyday Greetings Stamp Set.

This is super fun project and I encourage you to try it!

First, I die cut the bunny from Easter Friends coordinating dies on bristol paper, and die cut the heart and the flowers from Friends Forever Coordinating Dies and Scallop Square Tags on white card stock. I used Copic Markers for coloring all the die cuts.

To watch the creation of these tags from start to finish, click HERE or watch below.

10 Minute Easter Card + Video

Hello everyone, Eloise here and today I have a 10 minute card challenge card for you all. As much as I love to create very full on cards that take a lot of time I also enjoy creating very simple and quick cards. So today I thought it would be fun to do the challenge. For my card today I’m using the Easter Blessings stamp set along with the Scallop Oval dies.

Watch the video above   I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube
border
To begin my card today I first stamped out the cross image from the Easter Blessings stamp set with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Neenah Solar White Cardstock and coloured it in with Copic Markers. I used YG01, YG23 and YG17 for the leaves and E51, E53 and E55 for the cross part. I then used the coordinating dies to cut it out. While I had my Big Shot machine out, I also cut out the Scallop Oval die using some white cardstock. Once all my die cutting was done, I could work on my background.

For my background I did a super quick and easy watercolour background. I first blended on some Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink quite messily and then went in with some clean water and spread out the colour using the brush. This creates a fun watercolour background that’s quite pale and light, and it’s also very quick and easy to do! Once my background was done I dried it off with my heat tool and now I could assemble.

Before adhering everything down, I stamped out my sentiment onto the bottom centre of my card, using the same Easter Blessings stamp set with some Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then added foam tape onto the back of my frame and my image and adhered those down into the centre of my card. I popped up the entire panel on some fun foam and adhered it down to a pre-made card base. For a last finishing touch I went ahead and added some Wink of Stella to my cross image in the centre and that finished up the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and were inspired to either make a quick and simple card or to try and make a card in 10 minutes. This style of card can be used for so many different occasions just with a switch up of some colours, images and a sentiment. I think I’ll be using this design for a lot of cards now that I need quickly.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
