To add the frosted edges to the petals, I swiped embossing ink along the edges and then used sparkly platinum embossing powder. The flower centres are completely covered in the same embossing powder.
My background is two colours of aqua/teal ink blended onto a white panel of cardstock, fading out toward the centre to create a bit of a glow around the poinsettia. I trimmed it with the stitched rectangle from Stitched Notes.
I created a slightly larger mat to back the focal panel and embossed the edges with the same powder to create a sparkly frame that matches perfectly.
My sentiment from the Decorative Ornaments stamp set was embossed in white powder to keep the letters really crisp and easy to read.
I hope you enjoyed the card and video. Have a great weekend!
I started off with stamping out all my images from both Angel Friends and Joy and coloured them in with Copic Markers. I added white gel pen details to them all and cut them out using the Angel Friends coordinating dies and Joy coordinating dies.
I took a piece of watercolour cardstock and
ink blended some aqua Distress Inks onto the bottom portion fading up to white.
I flicked on some water and dried it off with a heat tool. I then die cut them
large ‘Joy’ from the coordinating die set at an angle across the panel. I added
foam tape onto the back and adhered it onto a grey card base.
I then added foam tape and liquid adhesive
onto the backs of the images and adhered them into place. I white heat embossed
the ‘To The World’ sentiment onto a thin black strip of cardstock and adhered
it down with foam tape at the same angle as the Joy Sentiment.
Let’s jump right in! I have several cards to share in today’s video and the first 2 use a Fireworks stencilto create a background. I love to use stencils for quick yet impressive backgrounds for my cards.
I’ve started with a piece of black cardstock cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2”. I taped the panel to the stencil using low tack tape to make sure it is going to stay in place. Next, I used Tonic Studios Nuvo Glimmer Paste in color Plum. It is a beautiful purple and makes a great background for a New Year Card. I’ve applied it evenly onto the paper using a palette knife. Once the paste is applied I removed the stencil. The paste is going to take it some time to dry, so I set it aside. Be sure to wash your stencil and palette knife as once the paste dries it will turn hard and it will ruin your tools.
For my next background, I didn’t have the color paste I wanted, so I made it using supplies I had from my stash. I used white texture paste and gold glitter embossing powder.
Next, I did some stamping. I used several images from the Happy New Year stamp setand stamped them in Copic-marker friendly ink on white cardstock. I stamped a champagne bottle, wine glasses as well as 2 party hats – a smaller and a bigger one.
I did very simple coloring to bring these images to life. I used G99, G94 and G21 markers to color the wine bottle. I was having trouble picking the right colors to have that true bottle green color, but I figured these colors will do. I also used E33 and E31 to color the labels and the cork. I also used the Y15 marker to color the splashes.
For the wine glasses, I used V12 marker. I knew I’d be placing these on the purple background so I wanted the glasses to match in color. I wasn’t too careful coloring them as I’d add a gold mirror piece on the inside to look like liquid and also color outside the lines black, but we will get to that in a minute.
As for the hats I used C10, C9, C7 and C5 markers to color the hats black. I also used R39, R27, and R24 to color the ribbon on the hats. Pretty easy and simple coloring, nothing fancy.
Next came the most fun part! I knew I’d be adding these images to pretty dark backgrounds, black backgrounds really, so I wanted to color the image outlines in black to match. It is a simple trick, yet it makes all the difference in the world. I do encourage you to give it a try if you haven’t already. You can use a black Copic marker or a black pen – anything black really to color the outline black.
Next, I stamped the same image of champagne glasses onto gold mirror cardstock. It doesn’t matter what ink you use unless it is StazOn ink it will not stay on the paper, it will smear or wipe off and that is exactly what we want. I used my detail scissors to cut the liquid part out, wiped the ink off and that created the liquid part for the glasses. There are coordinating dies available and I used mine to cut these images out.
Next, I created sentiments for the cards. I gold heat embossed “Pop Fizz Clink”, cut them out and mounted on mirror gold cardstock.
With the sentiments created, the embellishments made and the backgrounds dry it was time to assemble the cards. I used foam tape to foam mount the sentiment panel onto the background and then used the same foam adhesive to adhere the glasses to the card. I trimmed off the baubles that were stamped with the glasses. I adhered the liquid pieces made from that gold mirror cardstock and added the little bubbles using gems. I used Metallic Gold jewels for this card, they blended perfectly well with the background.
For the next card, a bit more work was needed to complete the background – I used my heat tool to melt that powder that was covering the texture paste. Next, I brushed away any stay glitter particles from the background using a dry paintbrush.
With that done, I foam mounted the sentiment, that same one – Pop Fizz, Clink and also added a champagne bottle on top. I also added a little gem on top of the label of the bottle. And this card is done!
I also have another card to share – also created with the same stamp set. Here I stamped several glasses in a row, colored them using Gold Glitter pen, added Happy New Year sentiment and foam mounted the two black party hats on top. I also used my white Sakura pen to add some white shading to the sentiment and to color the baubles above the glasses.
I started by die cutting several stitched poinsettias from kraft, red and white cardstock. And I also die cut the stitched leaves from pale green cardstock. I simply adhered poinsettias onto the top-left corner & bottom-right corner of the kraft panel using foam tape, and then lightly inked the centre of each poinsettia with Festive Berries Distress ink.
For the sentiment, I die cut the Happy Holidays from white cardstock, then added it to the centre of the card (as shown in the picture) using fine tip glue pen.
Christmas is just around the corner! I hope this card inspired you. If you haven’t already, be sure to visit the previous posts for those cards and giveaways!
I wanted to create a holiday scene using lots of images, so I made this card a slim-line, which measures 7” x 3.5”. I started by using Distress Inks on the background and cut some white glitter paper into a snow bank.
I stamped images from the 3 stamp sets on white cardstock with a light color of ink. I colored in all of these with colored pencils. I like how they leave such a soft look and let you add texture and shading. I colored 6 trees from the Holiday Pals stamp set to use on the background of the card. I stamped the four cute little friends from the Christmas Friends stamp set and arranged them in front of the trees.
I added some of the little birds from the Christmas Friends stamp set and then gifts from all three of these stamp sets. I arranged all of these into a little Christmas scene. I used the Happy Holidays Script Die for the sentiment. I die-cut it out of white cardstock and then applied clear glitter glue to the top of it for texture. I finished the card with some glitter drops and white glossy drops around the elements for snow. I also added a couple of the snowflake stamps from the Holiday Pals stamp set.

Thanks so much for visiting today and being part of the Pretty Pink Posh’s 5 Days of Christmas Giveaway Week celebration! Have a great holiday season friends!
Hello, Gemma here to share some Christmas inspiration. I love combining new and older release sets from Pretty Pink Posh to create scenes. The Bear Friends are getting ready for Christmas on my card today.
On a white card panel, I masked an area for the hill and blended distress oxides above for a wintry sky. Flicking with water adds droplets for a snow effect.
From the centre of the panel, I used a Window Frame die. I adhered the die cut piece directly on my card base, then added the rest of the panel to the card with foam tape. This creates a nice focal point in the centre.
I stamped one of the sentiments from Holiday Signs on the post, then adhered the images to the card. I finished by adding some Pearl White jewels to the centre area for Christmas sparkle.
Hello Pretty Pink Posh friends! It’s Jeanne here and today we are kicking off Day 1 of our 5 Days of Giveaways in honor of this Christmas season. I’m sharing a cheery Christmas Card! I love to make cards with bright bold color and using a simple color block technique makes great results.
I started by cutting the Stitched Borders 3 die in several shades of ombre red and green. Because I like to save time, I cut several stackable border dies at one time. I reserve the extra die cuts for future projects. The next time I make a color block card I will have several colorful strips ready to choose from. Because the dies have a stitching detail the card stock cuts don’t release easily. I always place wax paper between the cardstock and the die to make removing them much effortless.
I adhered the stripes at an angle to the front of my card base. When the panel was covered I snipped off any bits that were overlapping. The stacked dies are really unique because they fit together edge to edge with no overlap so your finished card is very flat and smooth. Next I adhered the Winter Frame cut from white card stock to the colorful striped panel.
I adhered the Layered tree die in shades of teal over the colorful striped panel. For the most contrast I cut the top of the tree from a light shade of teal to adhere over the darkest stripes of red. The darkest shade of teal used for the bottom layer of the tree is placed over the lighter green stripes.
Hi friends, Jeanne here! The holidays are the perfect time to send cards to family and friends to remind them that they are dear to your heart. It’s a small gesture to let them know that you are thinking of them and wish them good health and cheer. I have a few friends that don’t celebrate Christmas – instead they are celebrating Hanukkah! Doesn’t 8 days and nights of celebration sound amazing? Ok.. so a little jealous here! But seriously, of course I want to respect and celebrate their faith and send them my best wishes with a card that is appropriate for them.
I stamped the Happy Hanukkah sentiment on white card stock and cut it with the smaller Scallop Circle die cut. The open window style die makes it easy to center the sentiment perfectly.
I stamped the menorah in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers. The coordinating die cuts make this a snap to cut out. I love that the flames are solid stamped images. I stamped mine with yellow ink and added highlights with a Copic Marker.
Wishing you many blessings – may the gifts of love, peace and happiness be yours!
I started by creating two colourful panels of watercolour cardstock, using Ken Oliver Colorburst powders. I used a mix for each one, to add variation and interest to them. I also spritzed shimmer sprays on them, to create some festive sparkle.
When they were dry, I cut the largest Stitched Poinsettia from the red panel and I cut the Winter Scenefrom the green panel. I used only the stitched circular frame on my card, but I kept the rest of the pieces for another card.
I arranged the ‘wreath’ on my card, and I created some fun contrast by tucking one of the flower petals underneath the green frame, and then popping up the rest of them with foam tape.
I used a tiny Merry Christmas sentiment from Holiday Signs, and I placed it where the slope of the sentiment would fit right underneath one of the petals. It’s just a tiny detail, but it definitely shows that thought was put into the placement of the sentiment.
To finish off the card, I used 3 of the smallest gold confetti from the new Celebration Confetti mix for some shine.
I hope you enjoyed this video. Thanks for stopping by!
Hello, Pretty Pink Posh’ fans! This is Yana Smakula. In this video, I’ll show you 2 modern and easy to make Christmas cards ideas using the same stamp, the Winter Wreath stamp set. As a bonus, I’ll also show you how you can use your coordinating dies to add foiled outlines to your stamped images.
I like modern designs in my cards so I decided to go for a slightly more modern color palette and a modern design. The design, however, can be done in more traditional colors, red, green and white. I use a lot of dark blues, some gold and just hints of red to make my cards look festive.
For my first card, I started with a panel of dark blue cardstock cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2”. I didn’t want the design to cover the entire front, I wanted there to be a small border, so I masked a ¼” border using low tack tape.
Next, I used a sentiment from the Joy stamp set, it reads “Wishing You a Blessed Holiday Season” and positioned it along the bottom edge of the card. I added single stamp images from the Winter Wreath stamp set and stamped them repeatedly to fill the entire background in. Don’t stamp your images all around the panel, stamp them one next to the other to make sure you build a nice solid background.
If you feel your embossing ink pad isn’t juicy enough you might want to pause and cover the already stamped images with embossing powder and then continue stamping additional images. You don’t have to stamp them all and then cover all. You can work in small sections.
Also, save the smallest images for last. There’s an image of berries and it’s rather small so you can use it to carefully fill any odd gaps you might have on your background.
To add some definition to the heat embossed images I used a darkest blue Copic marker I have in my stash, the B99 marker, and added subtle shading. This made a world of a difference and helped the images stand out from the background. I also added a bit of color to the berries. For this, I used Nuvo Drops in Red Berry.
My second card is very similar. I heat embossed the image of a wreath and a sentiment placed inside of it on the same dark blue cardstock. Next, I heat embossed and cut out additional, single images to adorn the wreath. I colored all, or rather added shading to all, using a dark blue marker.
I also heat embossed and colored a poinsettia. This time, however, I used white cardstock and colored not only the image of the flower, but also the white space around it to make it look like it was heat embossed on dark blue. I used R39, R27, R24 and R22 markers along with the B99.
Images were adhered using glue and foam adhesive at the top of the wreath. I also used the same Nuvo Drops. Finally, I love to use jewels by PPP so I added a good amount ofMidnight Black Jewels all around the wreath to spice the design up. It’s a simple card, but small finishing touches such as these jewels make it that much more special.
Finally, here’s the bonus idea I mentioned showing how you can use your coordinating dies to add foiled outlines to your stamped images. If you own a hot foil machine such as Glimmer by Spellbinders or another machine of the same kind you can use your coordinating dies to add foiled halo-like outlines to your stamped images.
To create this card I first foiled the image outlines (using coordinating dies) on the background. It took me 4 times to foil a full A2 card background. I used Winter Wreath coordinating dies (just the single image dies) and gold foil.
Having done that I placed the panel into my MISTI tool and positioned the coordinating stamps one by one placing them each into their own coordinating foiled spot. From there I heat embossed the images using Antique Gold embossing powder. This is very similar to what I did for the first project, but instead of just heat embossing the images, I also added foiled image outlines making this card design extra special. It wasn’t hard to do, but it surely added a nice foiled touch to the card.
