Christmas Hummingbirds + Video

Hello friends, Eloise here and today I have a card that you can mass produce easily for after holiday thank you cards. I think these are a really sweet and fun idea to either thank someone for their gift, or for coming over on Christmas etc. It’s just a nice way to show your appreciation if you’re that person who loves to send any sort of card. I used the popular Hummingbird Thanks stamp set, just because I love it so much and the sentiment is perfect and then I also pulled in the Penguin Pals stamp set for the little Christmas hats, just to make it more festive!

To start off my project today I stamped out a ton of the Hummingbirds onto some watercolour paper. I then clear heat embossed over them so it would be easier to contain my watercolour. I then used a mix of colours of Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers to colour these in. I went for an aqua, blue and purple colour combo to give that wintery feel. I then used red for the hats as well. Once they were coloured, I dried them off with a heat tool and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Now that all my pieces were ready, I started on the backgrounds. I used my Mini MISTI to stamp my sentiment into the middle of the watercolour paper pieces and gold heat embossed them. I then ink blended in the centre of each of the panels with Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. I flicked each of them with water and dried them again with a heat tool.

I then adhered my hummingbirds into place with foam tape onto each of my panels as well as their Santa hats on top. I did this to make them appear more festive since I plan to use these for holiday thank you cards, but you could leave them off if they’re for everyday use. Lastly, I took a piece of 12×12 patterned paper, cut it down into four panels and adhered all my panels together to complete my cards.

So that finished up my cards for today, I hope you all enjoyed. I love creating simple cards like this that are easy to mass produce and used for different seasons.

Thanks for stopping by today and I’ll see you next time.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

Angelica here with a pair of clean and simple Christmas cards that will surely make a loved one smile. I have used a couple of my favorite techniques with PPP stencils to enhance them.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

I started my project with the Wide Stripes stencil. This stencil is my favorite in PPP’s stencil collection. It’s such a simple design, with endless possibilities. For this project, I made a plaid design, using the grid on my Make Art Stay-Tion for perfect alignment. I blended Passion Fruit ink with a blender brush over the stencil until I was happy with the blend. I removed the stencil, turned my Make Art Stay-tion 90 degrees, re-attached the stencil, and repeated the ink blending process. Once finished, I used a T-ruler and a red Fineliner pen to add red grid lines. I die-cut the panel with the Stitched Notes rectangle, then moved on to assembling the cards.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

I used the Joy die to die-cut Joy from the middle of the plaid panel, and to die-cut white card stock 3 times. I attached the plaid panel to a card base at an angle before adding the white letters I had stacked and glued together for dimension. I stamped and gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Joy stamp set, trimmed it, and attached to the card with thin foam squares. I finished the card with a die-cut Stitched Poinsettia, spraying it heavily with glitter spray before attaching it to the card with Glue Dots.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

I made a dry-embossed background for my second card, using the Whimsical Christmas stencil.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

I die-cut Sea Salt card stock with the Stitched Notes rectangle. I dry-embossed the panel in my die-cut machine, using the stencil and thick rubber mats. I attached the panel to a card base, trimming off the sides with my paper trimmer. I die-cut Joy 2 times from white card stock, glued them together, and added the plaid letters to the top. I replaced the O with a Stitched Ornament, using the heart die included in the Stitched Ornament die set to decorate the ornament. I added a stamped and gold-embossed sentiment from the Winter Friends stamp set. I used my Make Art Stay-Tion grid lines and magnetic ruler to align my letters straight and evenly to the the card base. I glued the letters first, then used foam squares to add the ornament. I added a small twine bow to the ornament to finish the card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

I hope you were inspired by this week of new stencil inspiration. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the stencil collection and get yours while they are 15% off through November 18, 2019!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

Good morning! Heather here and I have two fun cards to share with you today for Stencil Theme Week using a fun summery stencils from Pretty Pink Posh!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

For both of these cards I used the beautiful Tropical Background stencil, and a fun technique combining white embossing paste with watercolors!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

For both of these cards, I added embossing paste over watercolor paper in a bit of a random pattern – not going entirely to the edges, then set them aside to dry thoroughly.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

Once those panels had dried, I colored over the top of each one with 3 different shades of watercolors for an ombre color effect!

The embossing paste absorbs the watercolor a bit differently, so it gives a great variation of colors – I love the texture it adds to these!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

I set those aside to dry, and die cut the fun Aloha Shaker Die from white cardstock, then coated it with embossing ink, sprinkled on sparkly white embossing powder, and heat set. This gives them a fun, frosty, and glittery look!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

Finished off by mounting those Aloha sentiments over the top of the now-dry backgrounds with foam adhesive. Once I added the foam adhesive to the back of the Aloha sentiments, I added a bit of liquid glue before adhering to the backgrounds to make certain they would adhere firmly over the embossing paste. Finished off with coordinating card bases and a few sequins from the Sparkling Clear Sequin Mix!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have an absolutely wonderful day!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

Hi friends, Eloise here and welcome back to Stencils Theme Week. Today I’m using the Christmas Background Stencil as well as Whimsical Christmas Stencil for my cards today.

All stencils are 15% off during Stencil Theme Week!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I’ll be dry embossing and colour blocking for my technique with these stencils today.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

I started off with two pieces of watercolour cardstock, laid down my stencils over the top and masked off sections to create my stripes and rectangles. I then used various Distress Ink colours to ink blend inside each of them.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

Distress Inks Used: Mustard Seed / Fossilized Amber / Mowed Lawn / Pine NeedlesScattered Straw / Antique Linen / Gathered Twigs / Ground Espresso / Festive Berries / Barn Door / Tumbled Glass / Blueprint Sketch

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

Once all the stripes were ink blended as well as the rectangles, I cleaned off the stencils and dry embossed with them. I used some rubber mats to make this happen. Now on the white areas you have this raised look and it gives so much more detail to the simple design.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

I then white heat embossed the ‘Wishing You A Blessed Holiday Season’ onto some thin black strips of cardstock from the Joy Stamp Set and adhered it onto my card. I added some hemp cord to add a bow to the right hand side of the strips. Lastly I scattered some Celebration Confetti Mix onto the background and adhered them down with glossy accents.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll see you all next time.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

Good Morning Friends! Welcome to Day 4 of Stencil Theme Week. It is Dana here today and I am sharing a festive New Year’s card that combines a few new products along with a few “old” favorites.

Have you been wanting to give stencils a try? Now is a great time to stock up and grab a few favorites. All the stencils are 15% of during this theme week!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

For my card, I started by creating my background. I used the Fireworks Stencil along with Gold Glitz Glitter Gel. I lightly sprayed Pixie Spray to the back of my stencil to help hold it in place and added the gel directly over the stenci with a palette knife.

*Make sure you wash your stencil with warm soapy water as soon as possbile, you do not want the gel to dry onto the stencil.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

When you remove the stencil, you are left with a beautiful background. Look at the details and all of the sparkle!

I set my background aside to dry and began working on the rest of my card. I started by stamping the set of penguins from the Penguin Pals Stamp Set along with the party accessories from the Happy New Year Stamp Set with a Copic friendly black ink. I colored the images and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. These little penguins just make me smile, and they are perfect for New Year’s…all dressed and ready to celebrate!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

Next, I used the Scallop Circles Die and die cut the inside piece from black cardstock and the frame from gold glitter cardstock. I stamped my sentiment from the Happy New Year Stamp Set with Versamark ink and heat set the sentiment with gold embossing powder. I inlaid the two pieces back together and attached it to my card panel along with my penguins. Lastly, I added a few sequins from the Celebration Confetti Mix to finish my card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

Thanks for joining me today! I hope I inspired you to give stencils a try. There are so many techniques and mediums you can use with stencils to create amazing backgrounds and card elements. Now is a great time to purchase a few stencils and take advantage of the 15% off sale.

Enjoy your day!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

Hi Pretty Pink Posh Friends! It’s Jeanne here today and I’m helping celebrate Stencil Theme Week with another technique for you to try!  I love gold, but honestly don’t use it very often because it’s difficult for me to photograph, but if you got this stunner in your hands you’d be hooked!

All stencils are 15% off during Stencil Theme Week!

Here’s the card I made for today.  It’s got lots to love.. a shiny gold foil stencil, gold foil die cuts and I can’t forget the two cute little bears from the  Giving Thanks stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

For this technique you’re going to need some Art Deco Transfer Gel, Deco Foil (in any color you like – I used gold), and a laminator. Laminators are very inexpensive – I did a quick check on Amazon and see three that are under $25.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

I use Pixie Spray light adhesive spray whenever working with stencils.  Whatever technique you use, Pixie Spray will keep your stencil in place while your working and is very easy to reposition and remove.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

Use a palate knife, old plastic credit card or scraper to apply the Art Deco Transfer Gel over your stencil (I used the Autumn Leaves stencil).  When you have a smooth application remove the stencil and set your cardstock to the side to dry. Immediately wash the stencil for your next application.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

When the Art Deco Gel is clear it’s ready to work with. Simply place your Deco Foil over the cardstock panel, put it inside a folded piece of parchment paper and run it through your laminator.   After you run it through your machine you can peel off the foil sheet and you’ll see it stuck wherever the Art Deco Gel was applied.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

I wanted the little bears to be the focal point of the design so I layered them inside a small Scallop Circles die cut.

I added a bitty pumpkin and some foliage to add a little color to the design.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

To “ground” the Scallop Circle I added some Stitched Borders 3 behind it.   I adhered them together on their reverse side to create a panel and then attached it to the center of the design.  I find that this keeps things from looking like they’re floating on the page.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

The gold on this design is beautiful! I sure hope you give this technique a try! Stop by tomorrow for another day of stencil inspiration and another technique!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 2

Hi crafters! Adelle here and I’m happy to take part in the first Stencil Theme Week where there is inspiration and all stencils are 15% off! Just visit the stencil section on the Pretty Pink Posh website. There are so many fantastic stencils to choose from and no shortage of techniques to use with stencils.

The technique I chose to use was embossing powder. To begin, I inked a background panel with various blue inks. After that was dry I used my anti-static tool on the panel and used the Snowflakes stencil to apply Versamark Embossing Ink with an ink blending tool. I then applied Wow Embossing Powder – Singing in the Rain and heat set it and sprayed the panel using Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz.

After the panel was complete I stamped out a Santa from the Holiday Signs stamp set and colored with Copic markers. I then used white embossing powder for the sentiment.

Copic Colors: B28, B26, B24, B21 (clothes). T3, T0, 0 (beard and moustache). C0, C1, C3, C5, C9 (clothes and shoes). E13, E11, E01 (skin). E49, E47, E59, E57, E37, E33 (wood sign).

Next, I used the curved stitched die from the Stitched Borders 1 set to die cut a hill for Santa. Lastly, I adhered everything to a white card base and popped up Santa using thin foam squares.

Be sure to head on over to the Pretty Pink Posh website and check out the deals in their stencils section! You get so much bang for your buck with stencils.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

Hello crafty friends! It’s Yoonsun here today for a couple of Christmas cards using the Leaves & Berries stencil along with other PPP Christmas products.

Save 15% on all individual stencils this week!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

I started by creating watercolored Christmas patterns with the Leaves & Berries stencil. I placed the stencil in place onto watercolor paper panel, applied red & green Distress inks over the stencil using blender brush. I then added clean water onto berries & leaves using water brush for watercolor painting effect.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

Next, I die cut the Stitched Poinsettias from watercolor paper, applied Distress inks, and then assembled them using foam tape. For the sentiment, I stamped it from the Joy set on white cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black, trimmed it down as a sentiment banner.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

To top and bottom part of the card, I decorated it with the Scallop Borders 1 to make it a little more feminine.

For my second card with the Leaves & Berries stencil, I made a white on kraft card. I placed the stencil onto kraft card base, applied white embossing paste.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

I die cut the Tree Shaker from watercolor paper, inked it with Walnut Stain Distress ink. I die cut berry & leaves from a separate watercolor paper using the Festive Holly dies, and then applied red & green Distress inks as well.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

I adhered sentiment tree & Christmas berry on the centre of the card using foam tape. I embellished with a few 3mm Sparkling Clear sequins.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

Thank you so much for stopping by. Join us tomorrow for another day of stencil inspiration!

Whimsical Winter Wreath

Hi crafty friends, Alix here sharing inspiration using some products from our newest release. They are adorable and very easy to work with them.

Pretty Pink Posh: Whimsical Winter Wreath

To start with my card, I stamped the images from Winter Wreath stamp set and Holiday Signs stamp set onto a piece of Neenah solar white 80 lbs card stock paper with Memento Black ink and die cut with their coordinating dies. Then I colored them with my trusty copic markers. At this point, I tried to keep my color in different shades of red and green for the traditional holiday look.

Pretty Pink Posh: Whimsical Winter Wreath

It is very easy to prepare the background as well. I splattered gold watercolor paint over a piece of watercolor paper that’s 4.24′ by 5.25″ by tapping the paint brush. Once its dry, I adhere it onto an A2 sized red card stock paper so it created the skinny red stripes for top and bottom of my background.

Pretty Pink Posh: Whimsical Winter Wreath

At last, I attached my colored images on to the background using Multi Medium Matte and foam tape to finish my today’s card.

I hope that I brought you some holiday inspiration. Happy card making!
