Oldie but Goodie

Hello there!

It is definitely starting to feel like Fall around these parts. Each morning when I wake up, I just want to stay in bed because it’s too cold to get ready! Then I go outside and get made at myself for not wearing a thicker jacket or scarf. I think it’s time to get clothes shopping again….gotta get some new boots, a jacket and some sweaters!

Today’s card features an older DeNami stamp, the Swirl Tree. We recently had a warehouse sale and I stumbled across this beauty again. I couldn’t help but pull it out and get it for my stash. Love the lines and it’s super fun to color! I added LOTS of Extra Fine glitter– almost makes it look like snow. ;)

Did you see the latest DeNami news? We’re doing a CHRISTMAS blog hop next month! I am beyond excited about this one. My dilemma? What stamp(s) should I use? If there is a Christmas stamp you’d like to see used, let me know. I’m not promising anything, but I’ll do my best to use it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you were inspired to pull out YOUR oldie but goodie!

Thank You Kites

You all are so fabulous….thanks for the kind words about my candy bags and the pictures! I was so hesitant about posting pictures, but since I got your thumbs up, I’ll give it a whirl. My biggest problem is lighting. Since I craft at night, that’s the only time I can take pictures. Thank goodness for a semi decent camera and a flash! One of these days I’ll need to get tips from some pros. (*ahem* Ashley Cannon Newell or Laurie Willison)
Today’s card features the kite from You’re Dandy. Courtney has released a lot of great sets, but I still think this one is my favorite. I just love the kite and those dandelions are so darn fun to use! I used my cloud dies to add some more dimension, then I just HAD to sneak in polka dots and rhinestones. I feel like a card is missing without these two things. ;)
That’s all for today. Thanks for spending some time with me. *hugs*

Halloween Treat Bags

Hi there, sweet blog friends!
I have a confession to make….I am a scatter brained crafter. One day I am creating Christmas cards, the next I’m doing an Autumn project and now today I have a Halloween project. Goodness, I really am all over the place. Does this bother you? Would you rather me stick to just one holiday/ season at a time?
Today’s project is a super easy one, but I must say, I think it’s pretty darn cute. I always love seeing the adorable spider from the Halloween stamp set. I paired him up with the Mini Star, then added some Orange and Black grosgrain ribbon and some buttons from the Halloween Boutique Buttons set. I used some of my newly purchase bakers twine and I was done! This would be perfect for favors at a Halloween party, or even something just to give to co-workers or friends!
If you follow my blog, you know that I rarely take pictures of my projects. It started out because I didn’t have a camera. Then, I got one but wasn’t able to achieve decent looking pictures. Now that I kind of (using that loosely) have the hang of my camera, I’m debating on whether to take pictures of my cards/ projects.
Blog friends, now is the time to let me know your thoughts! Pics or scans? The choice really is up to you. :)
Thanks for your input! Can’t wait to hear what you all say…..

OTWC Challenge #28

Good morning!
Oh goodness, wasn’t the DeNami Autumn Blog Hop yesterday lots of fun? I was so inspired by the beautiful Autumn and Thanksgiving cards- I wish we could do a blog hop everyday! :) If you haven’t checked out the hop, be sure to do so. You’ll love all the different cards + you could win a gift certificate if you leave a comment!
Yesterday, after looking at the blog hop cards, I felt so inspired to stamp. I made five cards, which is pretty good for a Sunday afternoon! My sweet friend, Michele, recently sent me the Kisses & Cuddles set as a surprise. Oh my word, this girl is such a sweetheart. I have the great pleasure of working with her on the DeNami DT and am amazed at her talent and her big heart.
Now onto the card….. as soon as I saw Kim’s OTWC Challenge #28, I knew I had to make time to play along. Since it had been way too long since I used my WPlus9 stamps, I just had to pull them out for this card. I used the Design Basics: Backgrounds I on the card base, then my beloved new Kisses & Cuddles set for the focal point and sentiment. I seriously LOVE this font…wish I had lots of sentiments with it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you were inspired. Have a fabulous Monday!

Embellish Felt Color Challenge

Friday Greetings!
Today I have a card for the new Embellish Felt Color Challenge!  Oh goodness, this one was a toughy for me. I had a hard time with the colors and I had no idea how to incorporate felt. However, I finally came to one that was somewhat decent. :) I created a felt scallop border, and also die cut a felt butterfly. It’s a tad bit hard to see in the picture, but it really does have a lot of texture.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? As I wrote in my last post, today I’m baby sitting all day. I just love the kiddos that I’m watching- seriously if it was at all possible to have blue eyed, blonde children, I’d want them to look like these kids. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, sweet friends! Have a great rest of your weekend.

Falling Leaves

Good morning!

Right now I’m completely in Fall mode….maybe it has to do with the leaves changing and Starbucks having their seasonal drinks? Or maybe it has to do with the DeNami Autumn Blog Hop coming up? Yes, I think that’s the answer. :) I am SO excited about Sunday- it’s definitely going to be filled with lots of Autumn goodness and inspiration. The line up of ladies is pretty amazing…. you’ll definitely want to bring a cup of coffee (or tea) and plan on spending a bit of time browsing the blogs. (There’s also prizes to be won!)

Today I have a fun card to share. Recently the fabulous Lisa Petrella created a card with falling leaves, which I loved to pieces. I truly adore the Large Winter Tree– it’s so versatile! I’ve stuck pears, apples, leaf sprigs, owls, just about everything you can think of in this tree at one time or another. Seriously, it’s a must for any stamp collection. For this particular card, I paired it up with a leaf from the Autumn stamp set.

Did you notice anything “new” for me on this card? Yup, I finally got some colored twine! Got a bunch of fun colors and I can’t wait to start using them on future cards. I’m sure you’ll be seeing various colors on the blog soon….

I hope all is well with you, sweet friends. Can’t wait to hear (err…see?) what you all think of this card. I’m hoping to be back tomorrow with a card, but we’ll see. I’m babysitting for 10 hours, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to muster enough energy or not. :) Until next time…..

Elegant Christmas Candle

Hello there!

It’s time for the next DeNami challenge! This one is a super fun one….we get to use RIBBON! Before I get to my card, I must say, you HAVE to check out the fabulous posts by my fellow DeNami design team members- they are all fabulous! Lots of colors and unique techniques- you will be amazed!!

For today’s card, I pulled out one of the “older” DeNami stamps: Christmas Candle. I forgot how beautiful this stamp is! It was so fun to use some of the pretty Red Rhinestones as holly berries, along with adding them to my pleated ribbon. (Video tutorial below)

I hope that you’ll be able to join in on this fun challenge. DeNami stamps are not required for this one, but if you have them, we sure would love for you to use them!!
Have a great Tuesday! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog (and leaving some love!!)

Retro Christmas Boxes

Happy Monday to you all!

It’s Day #4 of Practicing Creativity sneak peeks- tonight you all will be able to purchase these sets! Hasn’t it been fun to see the design teams cards and also those of the guest designers? I’m sure you all are drumming up ideas of how to use these fun sets. :)

Today we are all creating Christmas projects with Retro Christmas and Retro Christmas Backgrounds. I chose to create some boxes filled with yummy candy! I used the fabulous Square Gift Box Template and then on the inside I used the 2 1/4″ Boutique Boxes. I had such a great time creating these little boxes; they were so easy and I couldn’t help but smile when I stamped all those reindeer. To make it a little more fun, I had to add a Red rhinestone for the nose and added some extra touches on the box.

Just wanted to send a quick remind that Courtney is giving away both of these sets. She’ll be picking a lucky winner from one of the DT blogs, so be sure to leave comments on all of our blogs for the highest chance of winning!

Retro Christmas- Day 2

It’s Day 2 of card sneak peeks over on Courtney’s blog. Today we are sharing cards/ projects featuring GLIMMER MIST. If you follow blogs, you know that this product is super popular. There are so many different ways to use it; you’ll see that in the the PCD design team posts and those of our guest designers.

I have to confess, Glimmer Mist has scared me from the very beginning. I don’t particularly enjoy getting my hands dirty, so this product wasn’t very enticing to me. However, there are ways you can use it where you don’t get your TOO messy. ;) I used the Starfish Glimmer Mist for my card today…..here’s how I chose to use it:

  • Created shimmer paper. I laid down a piece of cardstock on a mat and went to town. You can determine exactly show shimmery you want your paper by the amount of squirts you use. It did take a little while for it to try, but the results are SO worth it!
  • Added it to the lightbulbs to create shine. If you have lots of Glimmer Mist, you could use other colors for the different colored lightbulbs.
  • Sprayed it to a white Prima flower! Again, you’ll want to be sure you have a mat underneath for this one. I first colored the flower with a Copic then added the Glimmer Mist. Since there are so many Glimmer Mist colors, you can have a large array of colored flowers! :)

Be sure to stop by my fellow PCD design team blogs and those of our guest designers:

Retro Christmas Cards

Good morning!!

It’s the first day of card sneak peeks for the newest Practicing Creativity sets! Yes, you read that right, there is more than one! This month we have TWO brand new sets that are coming your way. Since  I had so much fun creating with these stamps, I ended up creating two cards with the same card design- just a few minor changes. Can you see what they are? (Remember the game you played as a kid spotting the differences?) :)

For both of the cards, I had to pull out the houndstooth patterns- I truly adore it! Also, how amazing is this Merry Christmas sentiment? There’s another great sentiment in this set that is awesome too; you’ll have to wait to see it. :)

Okay, so I cannot get enough of the Celery Satin Edge grosgrain and Red Satin Edge grosgrain ribbons… It is so easy to tie bows and I love how they make cards feel complete. Seriously, these ribbons are a MUST for your Christmas cards.

Be sure to take a peek at the other PCD girls blog; lots of fabulous stuff over there.

Also, we have THREE very special guest designers joining us this month…..you will love what they are showing you!

Courtney is going to randomly chose a lucky winner to win BOTH of these super fun sets! To get the highest chance of being picked, you’ll want to be sure to leave comments on all the blogs. Plus, all of us bloggers know that getting “love” is one of the best parts of blogging! :)

Thanks for sticking with me through this lengthy post. I’ll see you tomorrow with a card featuring a super popular product, along with more of the new sets!
