Pastel Fall Fest

Hi there, sweet blog friends!

Can you believe that it’s already September 2nd?! Today I’m excited to show you my first sample of Fall Fest, the new set from Practicing Creativity. I must preface that this set has so many amazing fall elements- it truly was a lot of fun creating with this set.

For this card, I went the pastel route. (Gotta go outside of the norm!) How much fun is this solid leaf strand? I could make so many cards with this one stamp- you’ll be seeing more of it later this week! *wink* I added some of the pennants from Look Up to add a bit of color. You know me, I always love mixing and matching sets!

I hope you’ll take the time and look at the other PCD DT blogs- they have some great cards to share today!

I’ll see you in two hours for my DeNami Design challenge card! It’s a fun one that ANYONE can play with! See you soon…..

Special Friend

Is there a special person that you know God brought into your life? There are many people like this for me. Recently though, it’s been my dear sweet friend, Sarah. She’s a DJ on our local radio station. Several years ago (approximately 7), I first started to hear her on the radio and loved her personality. She was younger, which is something that’s not always usual in the radio biz. I always thought it would be super cool to meet her, but never thought it’d really happen.

Fast forward 6 years, I started to follow her blog and Twitter (I’m not a stalked, REALLY!), and we eventually became friends on Facebook. In the “virtual world” it’s easy to feel like you know someone, but the person could be totally different in person. I had the opportunity to meet her at a concert in December and she was just as sweet as I thought she’d be.

Recently she spoke at a local church and I had the great pleasure of being there. The theme: Embrace Your Grace. I won’t go into details of the talk, but let me tell you, I knew God was speaking through Sarah. I got tears in my eyes, because I KNOW that God has poured out so much grace to me over the years. Hearing her stories and seeing a physical reminder of God’s grace was so powerful. (If she wasn’t such an awesome DJ, I’d say she be a public speaker.)

I skipped a bunch of details (didn’t want to bore you), but I wanted to share with you about my dear friend. She is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. Sarah, if you are reading this, I love you and I’m so thankful that you are in my life!

In closing, I’d encourage you to do a post about someone who has touched your life in a special way. It could be your husband, sister or friend…..I can’t wait to read about it!

Hello Friend

Good morning sweeties!

These past few days I have been working on several magazine submissions. As most of you know, I got my very first card published in the August issues of CARDS. Since then, I have submitted off and on, but haven’t had any luck since. I really hope I’m not a one hit wonder! It’s so hard to know what magazines are looking for…..

Today I have a super pretty (can I say that?!) card to share. I pulled out the Bannerific set from Lawn Fawn and then paired it up with the Hello Friend sentiment from DeNami Design. I tend to look for stamps that can be versatile- I don’t like having a stamp for just one card design. ;)

I want to let all of my followers know that DeNami Design is giving away FOUR gift certificates! You can leave a comment on the DeNami blog AND the DeNami Facebook page! Be sure to pass along the word- who doesn’t love winning free things?!

Tomorrow I’ll be back with a hint on the latest Practicing Creativity set! I’ll see you then!

Stamps: Hello Friend, Bannerific (Lawn Fawn), Polka Dot Basics, Background Basics: Retro, Festive Flourishes (PTI)
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Bitty Box Basics, Bitty Dot Basics (PTI)
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss (PTI)

You’re In My Thoughts

Good morning!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made with my newly purchased WPlus9 set- Guiding Light. I’ve had this set for a few weeks but haven’t gotten around to playing with it until now. I love all the different elements in this set- plus, it’s great for creating masculine cards!

I was really inspired by this card by Dawn. I loved how she used the woodgrain on the kraft and also used the die cut as a window. These are perfect elements when creating a masculine card. You’ll notice that I also did some distressing with my handy Heidi Swapp edge distresser tool. I went through a phase where I used this on everything….now I’m finally bringing it back out again. :)

I hope you all have a great start to your week!
Stamps: You’re Dandy, Guiding Light, Woodgrain Silhouettes (WPlus9)
Paper: Cream, Brown Kraft, Navy, Dark Chocolate (PTI)
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Majestic Blue, Antique Linen (Tim Holtz)

OTWC Challenge #22

Sunday greetings to you!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was super low-key, which was exactly what I wanted. After being super busy at work, all I really wanted was to sleep in and get a little bit of crafting in. Thankfully, I was able to do both of those (and more) this weekend. :)

In my mini cardmaking spree, I created this elegant card. I have noticed Kim’s awesome color/ inspiration challenges for quite some time, but haven’t been able to play along. Once I saw the OTWC challenge #22, I just had to make time….how gorgeous are these pictures and colors?! I pulled out my neglected Damask Designs set and created this simple card.

You’ll notice that I used a rosette again. :) Today I created a total of four cards with these rosettes- I just can’t get enough! I think I may have replaced my love of buttons for these pretty things.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog. I’d love for you to leave me some love- I always enjoy hearing from my readers! Have a fabulous Sunday!

Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Damask Designs (PTI)
Paper: White, Black, Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse (PT)

Smiling Pumpkins + Video Tutorial

Hi there!

Today I have a super fun Halloween card to share. I simply adore these pumpkins- they are so happy and boy are they fun to color! This is actually just a single pumpkin, but I did some masking to make them look like they are stacked. Pretty cool, huh? A friend had ask me to do a video showing how I do my masking, along with paper piercing, so I did a quick tutorial.

Do any of you create cards for Halloween? This is the very first year I have ever stamped with a Halloween image. I must say, the color combinations can be super fun and with the new DeNami Design stamps, you have lots of different choices! We have actually just released our very first card kit, which makes it SUPER easy for you to create your Halloween cards this year. Click here to read the details and take a look at a video preview! That’s all for this post. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you’ll take a look at my video tutorial. Also, be sure to “subscribe” to the PrettyPinkPosh YouTube channel so you’ll know when I come out with another video! Have a great Saturday!

Embellish Squares Color Challenge

Hi, sweet blog friends!

I want to thank each and every person who left me well wishes in my last post. I am feeling much better. I so appreciate all the prayers and thoughts you sent my way. I am all stocked up on Claritin, Benedryl and Epi pens, God forbid it should ever happen again. From this point forward, I will be extra careful- no more unknown chocolate candies for me!
Tonight I’m sharing a simple, yet sweet, card that I created for the Embellish Square Color Challenge. I had a specific idea in my mind, but my creativity took over and I strayed far from my original plan. :) I am totally loving how the look of the scallop square die with this fancy square stamp- they make such a unique combination! I’ll definitely be doing this again in the future.
Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight! I have lots of cards to share these next few days- I’ve been crafting up a store! We’ll see you next time….
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Vintage Labels, Signature Greetings (PTI)
Paper: White, Simply Chartreuse, True Black (PTI)

It Started With Chocolate

No card to share in this post. Today was a super scary day for me. Without having to tell everyone separately what happened, I thought I’d do a blog post.
It started out as a normal work day. Since I just got back from a trip, I had a ton of work to do in the office. I was moving like there was no tomorrow! It was nearly lunch and I was planning on picking something up. Earlier in the day, a co-worker had given me some chocolate that was sitting on my desk. I decided to have a piece so I could hold off on lunch for a little bit. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. In a matter of a minute, my ears were itchy, my throat was starting to close and my tongue was getting bumps on it. Yup, it was a pretty nasty allergic reaction. Somewhere in the chocolate, there was traces of something peanut related and I was in bad shape. I quickly jumped in my car to pick up some Claritin, which usually helps me out. (Now, I normally have some in my purse, but with my allergies flaring up in Colorado, I had used them all.) I got to the mini mart, got my Claritin and quickly popped them. A few minutes later, I knew that something else had to be done. My throat was really starting to itch and I was getting hot. I jumped back in my car and headed to work.
Upon getting back to work, I called my parents and asked what exactly my Epi pen would do. The past few years I have had one in my purse for emergencies, but never knew exactly what it did. My mom talked me through it and I decided to take it. Granted it took a good 5 minutes before I got the courage to stab myself, but I got it done. I instantly felt relief, but I also got a huge dose of tiredness. I was getting pretty light-headed and felt like I was going to vomit. Let me tell you, the next 10 minutes were not fun. I was worried about the things I needed to do, but knew that I couldn’t do everything since I felt so tired and light headed. Thankfully, I got everything that I needed to do and was able to leave work soon after.
I’m so grateful that my bestie was able to pick me up from work and take me home. I was a complete wreck. Thankfully, she knows me better than anyone else. We were able to get me some Benadryl and I was able to sleep everything off. I’m feeling much better now, but 10 hours ago, I honestly thought it might have been my last day.
With all that said, I am so grateful to be alive and have such caring family and friends. Sometimes, sadly, we need these little emergencies to get us in the right mind set. I am so looking forward to tomorrow and living my life to the fullest from this day forward….

Button Jars

Good morning!

What a fun weekend I had in Colorado! Granted, the altitude wasn’t very kind to me, but other than that, I had a GREAT time! I had the best time seeing the DeNami customers, meeting blog friends, sharing my excitement of the stamps and of course, I couldn’t help but do a bit of shopping. :)

Today’s card is one I made last week. I had originally planned on submitting it for a Taylored Expressions sketch, but I never got around to posting it! When I had a stamp day with Ginny, I had the chance to play with her Studio Style stamp set. It was super fun to color all those buttons!

Here are pictures of Tenia, Lisa, Michele and I. Super bummed I didn’t take more pictures, but with the craziness of the booth, I barely got these two! (I’m not complaining- I would much rather a busy booth than one with no one in it!) Each and every one of these girls are so very talented and super sweet. I hope to see them all again someday!

Thank you to all who came by the booth in Colorado Springs. I was extremely flattered by your compliments of my display boards. If you have never had a chance to visit one of our booths, don’t worry, we have made a video giving you a small peek! Click here to check it out! We travel all across the country, so hopefully you can visit one of our booths!

Hope you have a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by my blog, sweet friends!
