Today I have another edition of the Favorite Free Fonts to share with you. It’s always so fun to compile these lists for you and since I’m always on the lookout for fonts, it’s only right that I share some of my finds with you! For this feature, I made sure to mix in some scripts, basic and whimsical fonts.
If you haven’t already, head on over to the FREEBIEsection on the site- this is where I’ll be adding the font feature, free templates and other goodies in the future.
For a little while now, I’ve been purchasing fonts- whether it be for personal use, or for business purposes. I have always only shared free fonts that I’ve found, but I thought I’d ask if you would want to see some of my favorite fonts that I’ve paid for. Let me know and I can do that on occasion!
If you download one or two of the fonts, I would love it if you pinned this feature on Pinterest or share it with your friends. Who doesn’t love free fonts?!
Disclosure: I am not responsible for fonts, so please download at your own risk. Also, if you want to use them for commercial use, you must go through the proper channels to obtain the rights.
Hello everyone, Joni here sharing another new tutorial. Today I’ll be showing you how to create a simple watercolor background using the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush 60.
To begin I simply drew a swirly image using the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush 60. Any color will work. You can also try a different shape just add leaves to give it a flower look.
In this image below I simply just added a leaves image to go with my background flower.
After drawing my image, I moved the image with a wet watercolor brush to give the image a watercolor feel.
I also added some yellow dots with the flower to give it a more complete look.
In assembling the card, I also added my favorite inverted Scallop Circle die(the smaller version). The sentiment is from Wplus9 You equal kind stamp set. I mounted the circle die-cut on a foam tape at the middle of the card panel to give it dimension.
Paulina wants to give you the opportunity to win these popular Zig watercolor markers and brushes. All you have to do is enter below leaving a comment with your favorite kind of flower!
Welcome to the Altenew 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop where there are 3 days planned filled with fun and lots of inspiration.
You should have arrived from Elena Roussakis blog, but if you get lost, no worries, there is a complete line up list below so you can stay on track during the blog hop.
I’m beyond thrilled to share these two cards with you today, so let’s get started.
Here, I used this beautiful Vintage Roses set where I stamped several of the flowers using the Red Cosmos ink collection from Altenew which made it easy to create this layered look as all of the colors work beautifully together from light, med, to darker reds. For the leaves, I used the Green Fields ink collection.
Next, I created the background using the Shutter Cover Die by embossing it onto Sea Glass card stock and went on to create the shaker element using this adorable Stitched Duo 3 die from Pretty Pink Posh.
For this next card, I used this beautiful Window Frames Die from Pretty Pink Posh as it’s perfect to create different scenes.
Here, I used the larger window frame as my focal point as I wanted to use all of the (5) flowers from the Vintage Roses set. Again, using the Red Cosmos and Green Fields ink collection.
For the sentiment on this card, I heat embossed it using gold powder along with the Birthday Greetings set from Altenew as it has wonderful birthday greetings. For the final touches and to add some sparkles, I added some 4mm and 6mm Metallic Gold sequins

Hello there, crafty friends, it’s Julia here! I have a card for you today that was inspired by none other than Paulina herself. She excels at layering and I decided to give this style a go featuring the Storybook 1 and Twine & Bows dies as well as the new Birdie Friends stamp set.
I started out by stamping the large bird from Birdie Friendsonce and the nest several times on Copic friendly paper. You don’t have to use Copics, though – if you prefer a different coloring medium, go for it! Since I going to fussy cut the images (or you could use the matching dies), I made sure I used a heavy, sturdy paper. This will ensure that the stand-alone pieces will not bend or tear when used on their own on the card.
After I was done coloring, I die cut the Storybook 1 shape twice: once from yellow card stock, and once from white card stock. If you don’t have cards stock in a matching color, here are two tips on how to create your own:
Use your coloring medium (Copics, watercolor, pencils, etc.) to color in the die cut piece. This will give you the exact shade to match your critters!
Use an ink pad and rub it against the die cut piece. It’s a little messy, but this way you can easily create your own colored paper.
The colorful frame contrasts nicely with the white inlaid pieces and the white is a great background for the sentiment.
I matted the Storybook 1 shape, onto which I had adhered my images with foam tape, against some paper I had decorated with the Denami Design Polka Dot background. And for an additional bit of sparkly, I die cut some silver glitter paper with the Twine & Bows die. As a tip to easily adhere this intricate shape: put some double-sided adhesive sheet on the back of the glitter paper before you cut it. The you just have to remove the second backing paper and don’t have to fiddle around with glue.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired and enjoyed the project!
Heather here from Houses Built of Cards. I’m delighted to be sharing a photo tutorial showing how to recreate these bright shaker cards – similar to one I made for the recent release hop with PPP. Be warned – this is a picture heavy post, but hopefully it is clear and easy to follow!
I started off by choosing a couple of plaid pattern papers – these will be trimmed to an A2 cardfront size – then trimming some watercolor cardstock to approximately 3 1/2″ by 4 3/4″.
Next, I stamped the birdies and branches using Birdie Friends and Birdie Friends Coordinating Dies, colored with Copic makers, and used the coordinating die cuts. They are so easy to line up – I use a small piece of Post-it Tape to hold the die in place while I run it through my die cut machine.
Next, I added a rough watercolor wash to the background, allowed it to dry well, then carefully laid my elements in place – NO adhesive now please! This just helped me line-up to stamp my sentiments, as well as those cute little musical notes, and have them placed perfectly when I finish assembling my shaker. The Scallop Circles were die cut out of black cardstock – I just love how this makes them pop!
Then, remove the frame and die cut images, and add a simple row of machine stitching around the edge. I love using my sewing machine to sew on paper!
Next, I use some good sturdy adhesive to adhere my watercolor panel to my trimmed pattern paper. I like to use Scor-tape – you don’t want the watercolor paper peeling up on these cards, or one side of your shaker will pop open and leak out.
Now, to make the clear acetate window – I use a sharpie to trace around the Scallop Circlesdies on my acetate.
Then when cutting, make sure and trim inside the line you marked – this way it will fit behind your scallop frame without showing around the outside.
Adhere together – again using a nice sturdy adhesive – I love the slim 1/8″ width of Score tape. You can easily curve it around the frame, and when you remove the paper, all those curved edges will adhere flat once you press the acetate on.
Next step is foam tape, to make sure there is room for your shaker elements to move. For the large scallop circle frame, I suggest cutting a 12″ long piece, then trim into thirds lengthwise.
The easiest way to attach the foam to the die cut frame is to remove the paper backing first – then it easily curves around the shape of the circle – so much less stressful then trying to bend the paper around! (And believe me – I’ve tried both!)
Once you have your windows ready, add a good dose of your shaker filling right on top of your card front – I’m using Iridescent Mini Heart Confetti and Iridescent Mini Star Confetti – then press your window over the top firmly before shaking it around to settle it all into place.
Finally, a bit of sturdy glue – my favorite is Ranger Multi Medium Matte, because it dries to a mat finish, so if a tiny bit leaks out, you’ll never see it! Use sparingly though – you don’t need much! Attach the branch and birdie to the front of your window and let dry.
That’s it! Here is a close up of each of these cards:
Unlimited color combos based on your pattern paper too!
Hello everyone, Joni here sharing another quick tutorial. Today I’ll be sharing how to create your own simple pop–up card that you can use for any occasion.
To begin, I die-cut some of the large oval from Scallop Ovals dies 5 times and distressed one of the middle part using PTI Melon Berry. Then I glued the scallop on top of the other like the photo above to give it more dimension. The sentiment “cheer up friend” I used for the front of the card is from the new Birdie Friends stamp set, but the cute birdie stamp I used for the front of the card is the Birdie Notes stamp set. The other cute birdies you see below are from the Birdie Friends as well. They were watercolored using my all time fave ZIG Clean Color Real Brush in the 60 pack and then die-cut using Birdie Notes coordinating dies and Birdie Friends coordinating dies.
To create my pop-up card I measured the inside card a little bit smaller than an A2 card and created my pencil guide to were to cut and fold like the image below.
After cutting your desired pop-up stand, you can push them inside like the image below. These stand will hold your image for the inside of the card.
When you open the card this how it will look inside, now you are ready to glue your die-cut images.
This is how they look after gluing them inside, aren’t they cute?
The bow die-cut that you see on the birdie’s head is from the Holiday Pals coordinating dies just in case you are wondering. The “sending hugs” sentiment is also from the Birdie Friends stamp set.
Here’s another look from the inside…
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to create your own. Have a wonderful week!
I selected frames with matting included. You’ll see this has space for three photos.
I cut two panels of patterned paper, and two from white cardstock. The white panels were dry embossed with a floral pattern. These were added to the two mats with tape runner adhesive.
The fun began here with the placement of the images! I added the two black and white photos then the Sweet Pea Sequins. This will be a little gift to my granddaughter for her nursery!
We hope that today’s post and project inspired you to think outside of cards and stretch your stamps, dies and embellishments; the possibilities are endless!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
Well hello everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by the Pretty Pink Posh blog. Today I have a fun video tutorial for you featuring an idea on how you can use your Pretty Pink Posh Mini Tag dies to create your very own custom ink swatches!
I love being able to create attractive yet functional organization solutions for my creative space; my craft room is evidence of that. I find that the Mini Tag dies are the perfect size for using as ink swatches that allow me to keep my ink colors organized and handy as I am creating.
In my video tutorial, I am going to walk you through how I created these tags very simply. Depending on how large your ink collection is, you’ll probably spend a little bit of time die cutting but it goes by pretty quickly, especially if you’re watching a movie or something while you pass the dies through your die cutting machine over and over!
For the swatch ring, I used a large hoop earring that I found at my craft store. I chose this particular ring system because I love the flip-clasp closure of the hoop, which allows easy access to the ink swatches and keeps them secure when I want them all to stay on the ring. However, you can use whatever type of ring you prefer to hold your swatches. You can also find similar, inexpensive hoop earrings in the jewelry section of local box stores like Target, Walmart, etc, or purchase binder rings in the office section or on Amazon HERE.
To see how I created this ink swatch tag ring, be sure to watch the video below! If you enjoy, be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel.
Nina-Marie did such a great job showing how just a few products (that is in most of our craft areas) can be used to organize our inks. If you’re interested in any of the products she mentioned, we have linked them below to make it easier for you!
We wanted to have a giveaway in this post for the brand new Mini MISTI tool for those who want to create their own ink swatches, or use on your paper craft projects. Enter the giveaway to win one of these handy tools, along with the versatile Mini Tags die set!
If you have any questions about this post, feel free to leave it in the comments! Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some time with me; I’ll see you again soon!
I’m so excited to share these two adorable cards by Liz on the blog today. She always has such creative and vibrant cards and I know you’ll love these cards, too. Let’s dive right into her post…
For this first card, I used these fabulous new Scallop Circles Diesas it’s hard to resist not to use with all the amazing stitched details. Plus, I love how it cuts through the cardstock with a clean cut. Also, I used the new Birdie Friends stamp set as it’s so versatile with all the sentiments and cute images.
In addition, I pulled out this adorable bird from the Birdie Notes collection which I water colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush to create another shaker card.
I’m head over heels about this new sequin Easter mixso I wanted to make sure to use again. Also, if you notice, I have some little flowers on the acetate. This is from the Spring Flower mix and thought it went perfect with this Hello Friend card.
Can you tell what else is new? It’s these tiny mini scallop borders from the new Stitched Borders 4 collection and let me say, these are absolutely wonderful and beautiful clean cuts.
On this next card, I had more fun using the new Stitched Borders 4 collection with these big stitched scallop borders, so I cut several of them using card stock from the Sweet Treats pack of Simon Says Stamp.
Next, I cut a strip of green apple cardstock to place on top of all the scallops, but since I wanted it with stitches, I pulled out the Stitched Borders 2 die set and used the stitched row.
As I was creating this card, I wanted something underneath the little bird, so I pulled out Stitched Photo Frames and die cut the largest one. Not only do you get a frame, but also this amazing small stitched rectangle which was the perfect size for this card!
Next, I water colored this adorable bird and little chick from the new Birdie Friends stamp set along with the matching coordinating dies which made it easy to cut the images out and pop them up for dimension. The tiny little bow is from the Holiday Pals set. Last but not least, I added the sentiment and some 4mm Sparkling Clear sequins.
I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and these cards by Liz. Join us on Wednesday as we’ll have a super fun post sharing how to organize/ swatch your ink pads, along with a video.
I have a quick post announcing the winners from the Product Release Blog Hop. I didn’t want this post to get overlooked while we had our Easter theme week, so thanks for waiting a few extra days!
