Easter Theme Week- Day 1

Hello, Gemma here and welcome to the first day of our Easter Theme Week here on the Pretty Pink Posh blog. My card today features three cute bunny friends popping out from behind some Easter eggs.

I began by blending some different colours of distress oxide inks on to white card. I chose lots of bright spring colours. I die cut the Decorative Eggs from the ink blended card, plus some extras of the solid egg in the set from white card. I’ll use these as backing pieces to build my Easter eggs.

I added some tape adhesive to the white eggs, then layered the coloured eggs on top, mixing them up so the stripes are different colours to the frames. Next, I die cut the large Scallop Frame from white card and added some colour to it with shaded lilac distress oxide ink. I adhered the frame onto a white card base.

From the Bunny Friends stamp set, I chose the bunny that looks like it’s jumping. I stamped the image three times, colouring them with copics and die cutting with the coordinating die. I added some foam tape behind two of the Easter eggs, and tape runner adhesive behind the other two. This gives some nice dimension and makes it easier to overlap them. Before I adhered the eggs to the card, I added the bunnies with tape runner flat to the card base. Once the eggs are added on top, they look like they are jumping out.

For the sentiment, I die cut the Happy Easter Shaker die three times – twice from white card and once from some ink blended card to match the pink in the eggs. I cut out the words from the Shaker die cuts, then layered them together to get a dimensional sentiment. I adhered the words at the top of the card, in a line. I just love that the sentiment fits together so well in this layout.

I finished with some watermelon jewels around the bunnies for a touch of sparkle.

Thanks for joining me today. Join us here tomorrow for more Easter themed inspiration.

  1. These bunnies are so cute and I love the bright colors. I love the vibrant colors and sparkle of the of the Jewels. Best thing you don’t have to let them dry overnight. TFS Chris🤓
