Sneak Peek: March Die Cuts

Hello friends! Angelica here, and I’m so excited to share with you a few cards featuring new products from Pretty Pink Posh Mach Release. Today I am focusing on a couple new dies. Let’s get started!

How beautiful is this butterfly? The Bold Butterflies die set comes with two butterflies. I used the larger of the two to make this first set of cards. I added double-sided adhesive to the back of several colors of card stock, sticking to a pinkish-peach-coral theme. I die- cut all the colors with the butterfly. I also die-cut 4 dark pink butterflies with no adhesive on the back. I traced the butterfly onto two pieces of white card stock, then cut the shapes out a bit smaller than the traces. I glued the white shapes to the backs of the pink butterflies. Next I started filling in the wings with cuts from the other die-cuts. Putting adhesive on the backs of the yardstick before cutting made this process easy and clean.

After I finished filling in the wings, I used a shimmer pen to add sparkly to all the different colored card stock. I attached the top pink butterfly by gluing only the body, and then bent the wings slightly. I die-cut the butterfly two more times out of black glitter paper, and fussy cut the bodies away from the wings. I glued the black bodies onto the top. To assemble the card, I used the rectangle die from Stitched Notes die set to cut Neenah Desert Storm paper. I stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder a sentiment from the new Peacock Friends stamp set. I added the rectangle to craft foam, then attached the panel to an A2 card base. I glued the butterfly above the sentiment.

I made the second butterfly exactly the same for the second card. For the background, I blended a bit of Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink onto white card stock to give the butterfly a nice glow. I stamped a sentiment from Birdie Friends with black ink, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

My second card showcases the gorgeous Spring Frame die. This is the first large frame die with a design for Pretty Pink Posh. Isn’t it beautiful?

I die-cut this frame two times out of white card stock. Next I pulled out a rainbow of Copic Markers and started coloring. Once I finished coloring, I used my paper trimmer on the second die cut to trim off all the flowers and leaves and glued the frame onto the colored paper.

On light blue card stock I stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder a sentiment from Simple Sayings: Life stamp set. I then blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink around the edges. I glued the blue card stock to an A2 card base. I added foam adhesive all over the back of the colored frame, and attached it to the card base.

My final touch was adding a few Sparkling Clear Jewels around the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check back tomorrow to buy the new release bundle and see the reveal of all the new products!

Sneak Peek: Spring Wreath

Hello, Gemma here with another sneak peek to share with you all. Today I have a card featuring the new Spring Wreath stamp set. This pretty wreath is so fun to colour and is large enough to be the perfect focal point on a card.

I began by stamping the wreath image with clear embossing ink, then heat embossing with pale gold metallic embossing powder. I coloured the wreath with my zig clean color real brush pens, choosing a fresh spring colour palette. I then die cut the wreath with the Spring Wreath coordinating die.

On my card base, I layered a panel of white woodgrain card, then added a 2” wide strip of patterned paper.

I stamped the greeting from the Spring Wreath set on the patterned paper, then adhered the die cut wreath to the card with foam tape. For a finishing touch, I adhered some confetti from the new Easter Mix around the sentiment.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this sneak peek at the new Spring Wreath. Visit us tomorrow for a look at the new die sets coming on March 4th!

Sneak Peek: Magnolia Flowers

Hello everyone, Mayra here today. I am super excited to share with you a sneak peek of the beautiful new Magnolia Flowers stamp set that releases on March 4th.

I began my card by coloring in the lovely magnolia images. I used Copic markers. There are so many beautiful variations you can use.

I chose to use RV000, RV52, RV63, RV66, and RV69. I added a bit of YR30 to the center of each one along with a bit of YG00, and YG03.

For the leaves, I used G99, G94, YG17, YG03, YG00, and YG0000.

Next, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the flowers. I then added Distress Oxide Inks to what would be the base of my card. I began with Tumbled Glass then blended in Peacock Feathers. I added a couple of white and black splatters using a bit of water and acrylic paint.

To finish the card I used the lovely new Thinking Of You Script die. I die cut the phrase four times, glued them together and then added them to my card.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek of the beautiful Magnolia Flowers stamp set. Hope you will join us tomorrow for another sneak peek.

Sneak Peek: Easter Eggs

Hello everyone, Joni here sharing a sneak peak of what is coming your way for the upcoming release for the Pretty Pink Posh. I am showcasing the new Easter Eggs stamp set and Easter Eggs Dies. The butterfly is also from the new set Beautiful Butterflies and the leaves, flowers are from the new Spring Wreath.

To begin I first distressed my white card panel with Distress Oxide, then splattered it with water and gold watercolor paint from Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. The grass were drawn using my Copic Markers.

The sentiment “happy easter” is also from Easter Eggs stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment with Paper Source Embossing Powder in Gold Glitter.

For interest I added some new confetti mix called Friendship Mix really loving that.

For this easter card I also used the new Spring Frame die, which allows you to showcase your images.

I die-cut the panel on a white cardstock keeping it simple, to make the eggs be the center stage.

Remember the oldie but goodie “Happy Easter” from Happy Easter Script Die still in love with this font. The flower on the egg is from the new Spring Wreath stamp and dies. For the card panel I also distressed it with Distress Oxide to give it a nice pastel blue color.

In this card I also added the new confetti mix called Easter Mix.

I hope you guys enjoyed! Join us tomorrow for a look at another new stamp set!

Sneak Peek: Peacock Friends

Hello, Gemma here today. I’m excited to share with you a sneak peek of a fabulous new set called Peacock Friends. I think you’re going to love it!

To begin my card, I stamped one of the peacock images from the set, then coloured him with copic markers. I think this is a great set for having fun with different colour blends. I used the following copic colours:
  • B00, B02, B05, B97 for the body and feather detail
  • E43 for the legs
  • Y15, Y17 for the beak and feather detail
  • BG11, BG23, BG15, BG49, YG01, YG03 for the peacock feathers

I die cut him with the coordinating die, then added some white and black gel pen details and clear glitter pen.

Next, I worked on my card base, adding colour with distress oxide inks in evergreen bough, peacock feathers, and twisted citron. I blended these from darkest to lightest.

The set has two peacock feather stamps with beautiful detail, just perfect for embossing on acetate. I cut a panel of heat resistant acetate, the same height as my card base and about 2” wide. I treated it with an anti-static powder tool, before stamping the peacock feathers with clear embossing ink. I then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

Next, I cut two pieces of white card, one 2 1/4 x 5 1/2”, and the other 5/8 x 5 1/2”. I adhered the embossed acetate panel between them, to make one panel the same width as my card base.

I stamped a sentiment from the Peacock Friends stamp set, then adhered the panel to my card base with foam tape. This gives some dimension, which helps the embossing on the acetate stand out even more against the colourful background.

Finally, I added my peacock image to the card with foam tape, to sit above the sentiment. I then adhered a few Blue Lagoon Jewels, which bring out the blue of the beautiful peacock.

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek at the new Peacock Friends set. Visit us tomorrow for another sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: Beautiful Butterflies

Hi Friends! Angelica here, and I can’t wait to share a couple cards I made using the gorgeous new stamp set Beautiful Butterflies. Inspired by a recent YoutTube video from the Daily Marker Channel, I decided to pull out my watercolor markers and distress ink to color these scenes.

For this first card, I stamped the butterflies with Festive Berries Distress Ink onto Fabriano Artistico Extra White watercolor paper, and pulled out my purple-toned Tombow Markers to color with. I used color numbers 665, 676, 636, 679, and a red/pink 755. I colored a small line with the marker, then used a #4 round watercolor brush and clean water to move the color. I dabbed my brush on a paper towel quite often to take the color off the brush.

Once I finished coloring the butterflies, I decided to add a halo of soft color around each image for added interest. I used 515 (blue color) and 992 (light tan color) markers to draw tiny lines around the butterflies. I drew the colors out with my water brush. I stamped a sentiment from the new Spring Wreath stamp set. I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.25, mounted it to craft foam, then attached the panel to an A2 card base. I went over the butterflies with a white Gel pen to color in the dots, and used a black Micro pen to draw in the antennae.

For my second card, I decided to use Zig Clean Color Real brushes.

I stamped the butterflies in a little different order, and added the sentiment included in the stamp set. I used the following Zig colors: 021  Light Carmine, 202 Peach Pink, 029 Geranium Red, 027 Dark Pink, 024 Wine Red, 260 Deep Red, and 064 Oatmeal.

To finish this card, I trimmed the panel to 3.75 x 5.5 and attached it to the right side of an A2 card base. For the left side, I added a coordinating pink shimmer paper and a thin strip of gold glitter paper for some sparkle. I completed the card with a white gel pen to add dots, and a black Micro pen to draw in the antennae.

Thanks for stopping by! Visit tomorrow for another sneak peek of our March 4th release.

Tutorial: Pinata Birthday Shaker Cards

Hello! Rina here with you today. I loved working with the Piñata Party set and knew instantly that I wanted to pair it with the Celebrate Shaker Die.  I am doing a rainbow theme and the Party Mix Jewels were perfect for this design.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I made a simple striped watercolor background using Dr. Ph Martins Hydrus watercolor, but any watercolor would do.  I made a skinny striped background along with a wider striped background in rainbow color order.

While my backgrounds dried, I colored the images using Copic markers.

Copic Markers Used:  R20, R22, R25 / YR01, YR02 / Y000, Y11 / G00, G02 / B00, B02 / V01, V05 / C1, C3

To make the shaker I cut my panels to standard card size and used the Celebrate Shaker die to cut out the shape in the middle of the panel.  I used the Celebrate Shaker die to cut out glitter paper.  I used the die cuts from the glitter paper to inset into the panel and adhered with tape.  I adhered acetate to the back of the panel and created the shaker well using 2 layers of double sided foam tape.  I added the shaker bits into the well and used a ton of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and confetti.  Here is what I used for the shaker bits:

Party Mix Jewels

Silver Mini Star Confetti

Blush Seed Beads

3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins

Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix

10mm Sparkling Clear Sequins

I adhered a backer sheet to cover the sequins.  I stamped a sentiment to the front of the card and then placed the images.  Finally I adhered the card front to a top folding card base.

I hope you enjoy and try out this colorful card!

Bright & Sunny Happy Mail

Good morning! Heather here this morning. Today I have this bright and sunny card, perfect for sending some happy mail to a special friend! I love the cheeky little bird in its nest on top of the mailbox!

I started off by using some distress inks in Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, and Abandoned Coral, I used my new Distress Ink Blending Brushes – love how they worked! I added some splashes of water to react with the ink and add some texture – looks like sparkles! I also stamped my sentiment from Encouraging Greetings to fit in the window of what I was using for my shaker element.

I stamped the mailbox and large bird from the new Happy Mail stamp set, and then a little nest and tiny bird from an oldie but goodie, Birdie Friends. I cut them each out with their coordinating dies.

Here are the Copic markers I used to color the images up – I picked bright sunny colors to match my distress ink background.

I used Storybook 1 Dies – the FIRST in the fun series of Storybook Dies that Pretty Pink Posh has released- to cut my window for my shaker. I trimmed the panel slightly smaller than my card front, and backed the window with acetate.

I added foam around the window, then filled it with the beautiful new Sparkling Clear Jewels– one of my new favorites for shaker cards! They are so pretty!!!

I added another layer of acetate to the back of the shaker element, then adhered it onto my card front over the ink blended portion. Then, adhere all the colored images in place over the shaker!

I ended up with an ink smudge (oops!) on the front of my white panel – why does that ALWAYS happen on the white places?! No problem though- it was easy to cover up with a few Ivory Jewels scattered on the front. An excuse for more sparkle and bling is always a good idea, don’t you think?

Now I want to try to make this same design with different colors – I think nice cool greens and blues would be fun, don’t you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Birthday Cupcake Critters

Hello, Gemma here today sharing a card featuring the Cupcake Critters stamp set. This sweet set was part of the January release and I think it’s a must have for birthday and celebration cards.

For the colouring of my images, I took inspiration from a piece of patterned paper I wanted to use. I coloured the images with copics, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. To give the look of frosting on the cakes, I used a glue pen to draw over the images where I wanted the frosting to be, then dipped the images in some glitter. I also added some glossy accents to the cherry and candle, and sprinkled some glitter on top before it was dry.

Next, I adhered my paterened paper to the edge of my card. I then took a piece of white card and cut it down with one of the dies in the Scallop Borders 1 set. I’m reaching for these scallop borders more and more recently – it’s a great set to have in your collection.

I stamped a sentiment from the Cupcake Critters stamp set onto the white card panel, then used foam tape to add the panel to my card. As I’d used foam tape on the panel, I decided not to add anymore dimension and instead used liquid glue for the critters. Apart from the edge of the mouse, which needed a little foam tape where it sits on the patterned paper.

To finish, I added some of my favourite Pearl White jewels around the critters and sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this card. There are lots of fun possibilities with this stamp set!

Organizing Your Embellishments + Giveaway

Hi, Friends! This is Caly and I’m really excited to share my new storage system for sequins, jewels, and all the tiny pretty things with you!  I know this system isn’t new for a lot of people, but it’s new to me and it’s exciting and so rewarding to complete.

Previously, I was storing my sequins and jewels in the Craftmates Lockables XL 14 compartment units.  While this is a beautiful system to store my sequins and jewels, I found adding new supplies difficult because I couldn’t easily rearrange the colors (because I love all things in rainbow order).

The Darice bead tray is sold 3 ways that are helpful for cardmakers – 82 piece (tray and lid with 78 “tiny” containers), 45 piece (tray and lid with 42 various sizes of containers), 2 piece tray and lid.  I bought an empty tray to customize my own based on need and here’s a picture of what it looks like with the different sizes side by side for you.

A lot of people like the consistency of having tiny containers throughout the unit and almost all Pretty Pink Posh sequins and jewels fit into the tiny containers for me.  If you don’t like the look of the bigger containers, you can spread the sequins/jewels/beads across more than 1 “tiny” container.

I love that with the new system, the containers are removable and you can rearrange at any time.  I couldn’t do that with my previous system. The kits come with labels, but I used my Brother label machine to make labels and instead of putting them on the top where I think they’re intended to go, I decided to put them on the back.

I can’t stress enough how being able to move things around makes me so happy.  There are always new colors and mixes to add to the ever-growing stash/collection so this system has been the best solution for that.

I sometimes use sequins or jewels as props – so this is also nice to be able to pull them out, use what I need, then put them away without disturbing a bigger storage unit full of other items.

I love my Pretty Pink Posh collection and am really pleased with this new organization set up.  I hope you found this information helpful!
