Father’s Day Inspiration Week- Day 7
Hello friends! Elaine here today to share another Father’s Day project which is super simple but so effective!
The first step for this card is to select some neutral coloured card stock. I chose a dark grey, light grey, black and khaki. I used the Pretty Pink Posh Simple Strips Dies to cut lots of strips of the colored card stock. I adhered all the strips at an angle on to a piece of copy paper measuring 5.5” x 4.5”. Once all the strips were adhered to the copy paper, I trimmed the edges with scissors and used a guillotine trimmer to cut the panel in half. Using the Dad coordinating Die I die cut the word DAD and set aside for later. Taking a top folding white A2 card base I secured the left over strip panel directly along the bottom with liquid adhesive.
Next, I cut a piece of heavyweight white cardstock to 5.5” x 2.75” and added some interest along one edge using the zigzag die from the Stitched Borders I Dies. For added dimension a panel of fun foam was secured to the back of the zigzag panel and the whole thing was adhered to the cardbase. The DAD letters were then secured on top with liquid adhesive with the help of a T-Square ruler to ensure the letter were straight.
For a simple sentiment I used the Happy Father’s Day stamp from Dad stamp set and white heat embossed on to black cardstock. To help the sentiment stand I mounted it on to a piece of white card leaving a small border.
With some of the leftover colored strips I used the Square Scallop Tags Die to create a quick tag with another sentiment from the Dad stamp set. For a little extra interest I couldn’t resist adding a few White Clay Stars which were taken from the Sugar & Spice Clay Confetti mix.
I hope you enjoyed this card and tag project, thank you so much for spending your time with me!
Hugs, Elaine
