Rainbow Clouds with Stencils + Video

Hi friends! It’s Mindy with you today to share some inspiration using the Layered Clouds stencil. When all else fails or I’m in a slump, I will normally go for a rainbow. Rainbow never fails!

Rainbow Clouds with Stencils + Video

The Layered Clouds stencils is a two piece stencil. Starting with one of the layers, I’m going to ink blend a rainbow of colors using blending brushes. I’m using colors from Simon Says Stamp but anything in your collection will work for this.

Rainbow Clouds with Stencils + Video

The colors I’m using are Bubblegum, Grapefruit, Sunbeam, Sprout, Surf, and Lilac.

After I blended this first layer on, I’m going to place the second layer of the stencil on my background. This will slightly overlap some of my previous clouds.

Rainbow Clouds with Stencils + Video

I’m going to repeat my same steps as before using that rainbow of color.

After I remove the second layer of the stencil, I’m going to lightly go over the whole background with the left over ink on my blending brushes, following the rainbow down the front of the card.

I trimmed the panel down to 4” x 5 ¼” and added to a white card base.

For my sentiment, I’m using the Just A Note Script die. I die cut it once from gold mirror cardstock and twice from white cardstock to layer together for dimension.

Truly a simple card that has a strong, happy vibe. Hope you enjoyed today’s card project!

Mini Slimline Cards + Video

Hi friends and welcome back! It’s Mindy with you today to share inspiration using the Layered Roads stencils and Across The Miles stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Mini Slimline Cards + Video

I love how these layered roads come together. The layering of the stencil makes it super quick and easy to create a background.

Pretty Pink Posh: Mini Slimline Cards + Video

I’m using Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn distress oxide inks for my hills, Pumice Stone and a hint of Hickory Smoke distress oxide for the pavement and a bit of white paste for the lines of the roads.

Don’t let coloring the images intimidate you! Do a little emboss resist to quickly add color to the images from the Across the Miles stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Mini Slimline Cards + Video

I have a secret to share …… these two mini slimline cards were a happy accident. I meant to create one card but I trimmed the background down incorrectly. Since I put a lot of effort into the background, I was not going to let it go to waste.

I did sneak in one additional sentiment that came from the Birthday Scripts stamp set.

I think these sets are super versatile because not only are they great for little kids, but I think adults too!

Hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration.

Layered Stencils with Laura Bassen

Hi there! Laura here and today I have a colorful project to share featuring the adorable, new Construction Trucks products. Never thought in a million years that I’d be gushing over construction truck, but here I am, gushing at them in rainbow goodness!

Here is a video showing how I created this card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Stencils with Laura Bassen

For the background I used the Layered Construction Trucks Stencil Set. This set has three stencils that allow you to build your construction trucks in tons of colors. Get it? Tons. See what I did there?

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Stencils with Laura Bassen

I used the Construction Trucks coordinating dies to cut out the blended trucks and pop them up onto a cream panel. For the sentiment I embossed the Loads of Love from the Construction Trucks Stamp Set in white onto a simple, black die cut circle.

This colorful, dimensional background idea can be easily adapted using the Across the Miles images as well as the Dinosaur Additions products. Thank you so much for joining me today!

Floral Card with Zig Clean Color Markers + Video

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here.  Today I’m sharing a card featuring background stamping with the Spring Flowers stamp set.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

One of my favorite techniques is to do background stamping on a card front, but instead of using a background stamp, I used smaller individual stamps to create the background. I used the Spring Flowers stamp set and randomly stamped the flowers and leaves on a card panel that measures 5 3/8” x 4 1/8”. I like to think of this as creating my own pattern paper. After I stamped the images, I colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The colors I used are as follows:  Deep Violet, Lilac, English Lavender, Bright Yellow, Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Brown, Olive Green, Light Green, Deep Red, Pale Rose, Sugar Almond Pink, and the Blender.

For the sentiment, I used the Celebration Scripts stamp set. I stamped out Happy Anniversary onto white cardstock and then used the coordinating dies to die cut the word “Anniversary.” I felt like the white cardstock from the sentiment blended into the background too much, so I decided to color the sentiment with the Yellow and Lemon Yellow Zig pens.

Floral Card with Zig Clean Color Markers + Video

Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” to be used for the bottom layer of the card. Because I wanted to bring out more of the yellow from the sentiment, I used my Yellow Zig pen to color the outside edges of the cardstock to match the sentiment. Finally, I added the panel to an A2 card base and added some of the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix for some sparkle.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Layered Letters + Video

Hello friends! It’s Mindy with you today to share a card using the Layered Letters stencil.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Letters + Video

There are so many ways to color up this stencil. So many in fact, that it was overwhelming me so I googled clipart mail to narrow down a color combination I liked best. I often do this when I just can’t seem to get a start.

I liked the brown letter look as it reminded me of packages and getting packages in the mail is fun!

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Letters + Video

The Layered Letters stencil is a 3-piece stencil. I started with the most open area stencil and ink blended on a light brown which in my case is Sandy Beach from Gina K Designs.

The next layer of the stencil that I’m going to use has the details of the letters and a little postage mark. I masked off the postage mark with post it tape and ink blended a darker shade of brown, Kraft ink, using a blending brush.

I’ll wipe off the excess ink, remove the post it tape and using a small blending brush, ink up the postage areas with Blue Lagoon ink. Those small blending brushes really help get in those small areas without having to mask everything else off.

For the third layer of the stencil, I’m going to jazz it up a bit by using Red Velvet Glitz Glitter Gel.

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Letters + Video

Since this background is pretty much my focal point, I’m going to keep the sentiment small.

I’ll be using the Simple Sentiments stamp set. I picked three that I thought went together well and heat embossed them in white embossing powder onto Blue Lagoon cardstock.

After trimming the sentiments down to a thin strip, I can add them to the front of the card using liquid glue which holds up nicely against a textured background.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and it has inspired you to create! Have a great day!

Spectrum Noir Background + Video

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here. Today I’m sharing a clean and simple card design featuring the Floral Arch die set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Spectrum Noir Background + Video

For my card, I started by using Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to make a watercolor background. I love how easily these pens blend together while adding a touch of glitter and shine to the background! Next, I cut the panel to 3” x 4”. I die cut the Floral Arch twice from white cardstock and added the die cut to the top right corner and the bottom left corner of the watercolored background. I die cut a Scallop Frame die from white card stock and added it to the top of the watercolored background. Using the white die cuts on the blue watercolored background really makes the card pop!

I used the Praying For You Script die for the sentiment and added the “For You” stamp from the Birthday Scripts stamp set. Finally, I added a few pieces of confetti from the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix to the card.

Creating 2 Butterfly Cards with Different Techniques + Video

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here. Today I’m sharing two cards that I made using some products from the Pretty Pink Posh March Spring/Easter release.

Creating 2 Butterfly Cards with Different Techniques + Video

If you would like to watch how I made my cards, then watch my video.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

My first card features the Butterfly Shaker die setFloral Background Stencil, and Smile Script die. I applied modeling paste to the stencil and then sprinkled the card layer with embossing glaze (Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina, and Broken China). Next, I heat set the background. I used the Butterfly Shaker die set as the focal point of my card and turned it into a shaker. I added Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix to the shaker and Blue Sky Pearls to the top center of the butterfly. For the sentiment, I added the Smile Script die. I finished the card by adding the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix to the center of the flowers on the stenciled background.

Creating 2 Butterfly Cards with Different Techniques + Video

My second card features the Layered Butterflies StencilButterfly Shaker die set, and Hugs stamp set (for the sentiment). I applied Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink to the Layered Butterflies A stencil. I applied Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink to the Layered Butterflies B stencil. Next, I added clear embossing ink over the stencil, removed the stencil, added Saltwater Taffy embossing glaze, and heat set it. Next, I added Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink to the Layered Butterflies C stencil.

Creating 2 Butterfly Cards with Different Techniques + Video

I die cut a Scallop Circle die from white cardstock and adhered the circle frame and center of the circle to the card layer. I die cut the Butterfly Shaker die set two times using teal cardstock. I added both layers of the butterfly die cut to the center of the scallop circle, only gluing the center of the butterfly. I did not adhere the wings to the card front which gives a beautiful dimensional look. I added the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix to the center of the butterfly. I added the sentiment from the Hugs stamp set to the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Quick and Easy Rainbow Butterflies + Video

Hello crafty friends! It’s Mindy here with you today to share a bright and colorful project featuring the Layered Butterflies stencil.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

For the first layer of the butterflies, I will be ink blending using regular distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, and Wilted Violet. I forget how vibrant and beautiful the regular distress inks are!

Pretty Pink Posh: Quick and Easy Rainbow Butterflies + Video

For the second layer, which adds detail to the wings, I went over the same areas with the same colors. Looking back, I wish I would have gone over it with a darker color because as the ink dried, it faded back a lot and the details didn’t show up as well.

Pretty Pink Posh: Quick and Easy Rainbow Butterflies + Video

The third layer of the stencil adds the body of the butterfly in which I used a dark grey dye ink from my stash.

I needed to break up the background a little so I added small strips of cardstock in colors that matched my background.

Pretty Pink Posh: Quick and Easy Rainbow Butterflies + Video

I finished the card off with a sentiment from Easter Signs stamp set heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.

Although I turned this into a Spring card, I think it would make a great encouragement or birthday card because of its vibrancy.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project and it brightened your day!

Easter Theme Week- Day 5

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 5

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here.  Today I’m sharing some Easter treat bags that I made using the Easter Circles stamp and coordinating dies. These treat bags were so much fun to make. They can be used as gifts for children, friends, family, and co-workers during Easter or the spring season.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

The Easter Circles stamp set comes with six circles with Easter and spring-themed images inside of them such as an Easter bunny, Easter basket, flower bouquet, Easter eggs, a flower, and a spring chick. I started by stamping my images onto Bristol Smooth cardstock using a black archival ink. I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The colors I used are listed below.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 5

Bunny:
Gray, Pale Gray, Orange, Light Green, Light Blue, Blender

Single Flower
Fluorescent Pink, Light Green, Lemon Yellow, Light Blue, Blender

Spring Chick with Egg:

Flower Bouquet:

Easter Eggs:
Orange, Turquoise Green, Fluorescent Pink, English Lavender, Lemon Yellow, Light Green, Light Blue, Blender

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 5

I die cut the images with the Easter Circles coordinating dies. Using the stitched circle die, I die cut a piece of solid colored cardstock that matched the colored stamp. Using the label die in the set, I die cut another piece of matching colored cardstock.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 5

To create the bag toppers, I cut a piece of solid colored cardstock to 4 1/2” x 3 1/8”. I used white pigment ink and the Mini Polka Dot stencil to ink a polka dot pattern on the cardstock. Next, I scored the cardstock at 2 1/4” (along the 4 1/2” side) and folded it in half.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 5

I added some Easter grass and chocolate eggs to the inside of a 3 inch bag. I used double-sided adhesive tape along the inside bottom and inside top of the bag topper and adhered it to the bag. I added the labels to the top.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!
