Mini Holiday Tags + Video

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am back with a new video making holiday tags that you can use when gift wrapping or to top goodie bags filled with sweet treats.

I started with die cutting all of my parts of the tags with colorful cardstock and holiday patterned paper. I love rainbows for Christmas! I cut the Merry Script Die out of silver metallic cardstock and white sparkle cardstock. Next, I cut the patterned paper with the square from the Mini Scallop Card Dies and the card base out of different colored cardstock so we can make six tags in total.

The two layers of cardstock for the Merry Script sentiment are layered together so the silver just peeks out to the right of the white sparkle cardstock. The squares were adhered to the front of the Mini Scallop Card. The colors of the paper inspired my colors for the next step, stamping and coloring my images.

I stamped the Christmas Cupcakes stamp set onto some white cardstock that is alcohol marker friendly. I wanted my images to have a grey outline, but I do not have an alcohol marker ink that is dark grey. So I started with stamping my cupcakes with a fadeout ink and colored them with a “no line coloring” look. I used my MISTI to stamp, so I put the paper back into the MISTI and stamped over my colored images with a grey ink to achieve the look!

After the images were cut out with the Christmas Cupcakes coordinating dies, it’s time to assemble the rest of the tags! I picked which cupcake would look best with the colored cardstock and patterned paper and adhered it to the Mini Scallop Card. My Merry Script sentiment was then adhered to the tags!

In my video, I share how I turned one of these little tags into a gift tag that can be later used as an ornament by using a hole punch and some twine. I hope this inspires you to create your own holiday tags for the season!
