Hi all, Rebecca here! Today I have a birthday cake featuring cake….lots of cake! This birthday card has a birthday cake background, a birthday cake card front and a birthday cake inside the card!

I used the Birthday Cake Layering Stencils and some very light inks to create the background.Then I used the Fancy Cake Dies cut out of different colors of cardstock to create the big cake card front.

There is a confetti die that comes with the Fancy Cake Dies but for some extra color and dimension I added the Funfetti Clay Confetti to my cake for sprinkles. I added a foiled sentiment with the Hot Foil Large Celebrate.

For the inside of the card, I used the Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set which are perfect for messages inside birthday cards, to stamp a sentiment. Then I used the little piece of cake die from the Birthday Mug Additions Dies to add a cute small image above the stamped sentiment. Hey friends! It’s Mindy and I’m here to share some birthday inspiration with the Layered Party Hats stencil.

For the first layer of the stencil, I’m going to use Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina and Wilted Violet Distress Inks.

I’ll go over the second layer of the stencil with Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon and Villainous Potion Distress Ink.  I love the tone-on-tone look this provides.

The third layer of the stencil is adding the pom-poms to the top. For this I’ll be using the new Lost Shadow Distress Ink.

The final layer of the stencil adds stars to the background. I’m going to apply Gold Glitz Glitter Gel over this layer.

You can’t have party hats without presents so I stamped out the presents from the Birthday Signs stamp set and colored with copic makers. I picked out colors that would match my background. Then used the coordinating die to cut the image out.

For the sentiment, I’ll be using the Birthday Sentiments stamp set. I die cut a panel using the Spring Circles die set and stamped the sentiment in black.

I added this panel to my stenciled background using foam tape and then added the presents towards the bottom using foam tape as well.

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am so excited to be back on the blog! Have you ever made a “mug cake” before? I thought it would be fun to make a shaker birthday mug cake and use the Winter Mug Dies, Valentine Mug Addition Dies, and Birthday Mug Addition Dies all together!

I started with die cutting all of the pieces I needed from the different die sets in colored
cardstock. I will add in some color to each of the images using Distress Oxide ink or my alcohol
markers so there is some dimension to the pieces. Starting with colored cardstock and adding in
ink is one of my favorite ways to have color without having to completely color a piece of white
cardstock in ink. For extra texture on the cake die cut, I also stamped the solid confetti in brown
ink from the Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set.

To make the card extra festive, I used the Streamers Stencil to create a background. The “A”
stencil was colored using Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed
Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio. The “B” stencil was colored using Platinum Stencil Butter – I
love the mix of bright colors and silver together!

While the background was drying, I started assembling the shaker birthday mug cake together.
The shaker bits are the adorable sprinkles from the Birthday Cake Clay Confetti. I also made
my sentiment in silver foil with Hot Foil Large Celebrate and Large Celebrate Shadow Die.

Once my background was dry, I assembled the card together and added a sparkly frame die cut
using the A2 frame from Fancy Cake Dies. I hope you enjoy today’s video and that it brings you

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here. Today I’m making two projects with the Gift Card Bag die set from the birthday release. I’ll use it to make a standalone gift bag as well as a gift card pocket that you can add to the front of a card.

Give a gift card in style with the Gift Card Bag die set. The bag has a 1/4 inch opening and it is just the right size to hold a gift card, money, or a gift certificate. The die set also comes with two word dies. One of the word dies says “For You” and the other one says “Celebrate.”

When putting the bag together, you will need to die cut the gift card bag die two times, one for the front of the bag and one for the back of the bag. Then use glue or double-sided tape to adhere the flaps together. 

You can add a sentiment to the front or add other dies and stamps to decorate the bag. I used the candle dies from the Birthday Mug Additions die set.

The Gift Card Bag die set can also be used as a pocket on the front of a card. When using it as a pocket, you only need to die cut the bag one time and then glue the three flaps to the front of the card.

Tip: Make sure you don’t put glue on the entire back of the bag or else you will not be able to insert a gift card. 

I decorated the front of the bag with a Scallop Circle die and added the alligator from the Birthday Signs stamp set. I also used the Streamers Stencil to add a pattern to the bag.

I thought it would be fun to have balloons coming out of the bag so I added the balloons from the Birthday Balloons stamp set.

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here. For my card share, I used the Layered Chocolates stencil and made a card that resembled a candy box. If you would like to see how I made my card, watch my tutorial on YouTube.

I started by creating the stenciled background. For Layer A, I used a dark brown ink to color the shape of the chocolates. For Layer B, I added Scrapbook.com Pops of Color in the Raspberry Kiss color. The Pops of Color is a liquid embellishment that dries with 3D dimension and a glossy finish to your project.  I chose to use the Pops of Color because of its vibrant color and I knew it would show up well on top of the dark brown ink that I used for the shape of the chocolates. After applying the Raspberry Kiss Pops of Color to the squiggly lines for the topping on Stencil Layer B, I let the background dry completely before adding Stencil Layer C. For Stencil Layer C, I added the Scrapbook.com Pops of Color in Key Lime for the sprinkles. Again, I let the background dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Next, I used the largest and second largest Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies to die cut the pink frame. Using the largest Wonky Stitched Rectangle, I also die cut the stenciled background. I glued the frame to the stenciled background.  

For the sentiment, I hot foiled the word Love using the Hot Foil Large Love and die cut it with the coordinating Large Love Shadow.

I tied a piece of twine around the Wonky Stitched Rectangle panel and then added that layer to a piece of pattern paper that I cut to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Finally, I added the card panel to an A2 size card base.

Hi friends! This is Mindy with you today to share inspiration using the Sweet Note die set. These are so great for so many occasions and can be decorated in lots of ways.

Since I knew that I wanted to use the Sweet Cherries stamp set, I chose colors of cardstock that would coordinate with it and die cut them from the Sweet Notes die set. I also die cut the square from those same colors of cardstock and alternated them on the front of my note sets.

I stamped the Sweet Cherries in alcohol friendly ink onto Hammermill cardstock and colored with copic markers. The colors I used are R39, R37, R35, & R32 for the cherries and G28, G24 and YG01 for the leaves. Then I used the coordinating die to cut them out.

I wanted a sentiment to be placed over the top of my cherries and found the perfect ones on the Potted Roses stamp set. I stamped the word “Sending” in Black ink and diecut out with the coordinating die. Then the smaller sentiments I heat embossed in Gold on the same colors of cardstock as my base.

I chose these Reese’s Thin Cups as my treat for the inside of the holder. These are a little bulky and the flap didn’t want to stay tucked in so when I’m ready to send these off, I will probably add tape runner or a glue dot to keep it closed.

There are so many things you can add to the inside like thin chocolats, little notes, maybe some suckers if you poke a hole in one end of the note and even a money holder. I actually used one of these right away to tuck some money in and give to my daughter for Prom dress shopping. She loved it!

I love additions to original die sets because it really stretches the usage of the original set and gives everything more bang for its buck! In my video, I share how you can use both die sets together to create shaker cards or flat cards.

In creating an A2 card with a mug shaker, I used the Winter Mug Dies to cut out 2 pink mugs and one die cut transparency mug. One pink mug I use as the base on the A2 card. I cut a heart from the Valentine Mug Additions Dies out of the other pink mug and then adhered the transparency to the back creating a shaker window! Then create a border of foam tape around the window and place it down onto the base mug having poured some Strawberry Shortcake Clay Confetti and Valentine’s Day Clay Confetti right in the center of that base mug. Then have fun decorating around the mug with the Valentine Mug Addition Dies. Love all the additions from chocolates to a dipped strawberry, cherry and more!

For the flat mug, I realized that the mug die cut would fit perfectly on the Sweet Note Dies die cut with just a teeny bit of the mug handle hanging off the side.

Rather than using the heart die to create a shaker, you can use it as a die cut to decorate the envelope or mini card since both the positive and negative piece retain faux stitching lines.

Other die cuts from the Valentine Mug Additions Dies can also be used to decorate the Sweet Note Dies and you can use some liquid glue that dries clear to adhere some XOXO Clay Confetti to the top of the mug for sprinkles on your cocoa!

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am so happy to have my first video on the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel! I’m sharing how you can use the Sweet Note Dies to create valentines for your kiddo to color and share with their classmates or friends.

I started with stenciling the solid hearts from the Layered Valentine Hearts Stencils with Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides. In my video, I die cut the 6×6” background four times with the square die from the Sweet Note Dies before the next stencil, but I should have added Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide through the striped hearts first!

After I have the squares with the first two layers, I used the Layered Valentine Hearts Stencil with polka dots hearts with Pearl White Stardust Butter to add some shine and texture to the backgrounds. I added this after die cutting so it would have plenty of time to dry and avoid any stencil paste from sticking to my die.

Next I stamped the cheetah from Hearts Critters stamp set and cut it out with the coordinating die. Using Ohuhu Art Markers, I colored in the sweet critter with its heart shaped treat box and you can find the colors listed in the image below!

Now that all of the elements of my valentines are done, I die cut the Sweet Note envelope out of some pink cardstock and another square out of white cardstock and stamped my sentiment on the white square. I left plenty of room for my daughter to sign her name! I adhered the stenciled background square on the outside of my envelope and the sentiment square on the inside. My critter is popped up with some foam adhesive on top of the pink hearts to add a bit of dimension to the valentines.

My daughter wanted to color in her own critter so she used my Ohuhu Art Markers to color in her sweet Panda with a flower, also from the Heart Critters stamp set.

Hello crafty friends, Lisa Mears here. For my card today, I’m using the Layered Valentine Hearts stencil to make a card that looks like the conversation hearts candy that is popular for Valentine’s Day.

The Layered Valentine Hearts stencil is a four layer stencil which includes the heart shapes (Layer A), the dots for the hearts (Layer B), the stripes for the hearts (Layer C), and the words (Layer D). This pack of stencils has so much versatility because you can pick and choose which stencils you want to use. For example, you can use just the Layer A stencil to get a background full of hearts. You can also use the Layer A stencil with the hearts and add a design to the hearts with the dots from Layer B and the stripes from Layer C. You can also use all four stencils together to get the conversation hearts background as shown in the picture below.

While inking stencil Layer A, I masked off each row in order to get different colors of ink for each row of hearts. I used the Scrapbook.com Hybrid inks in the following colors: Pink Flamingo Ink, Pear, Parisian Purple, Sky Blue, Lantern Light, and Orange Cream.

I used the same color inks to add the dots (Layer B) and stripes (Layer C), just adding a little more ink to make it look darker on top of the solid heart shape. For Layer D, I used Scrapbook.com Cardinal Red ink to add a red ink color to the words.

For the sentiment, I hot foiled the word Hugs from rainbow hot foil using the Hot Foil Large Hugs and die cut it with the coordinating Large Hugs Shadow. I used the Scallop Border to die cut a border from pattern paper and added it to the left side of the stenciled cardstock.

I added the Blue Sky Pearls and Lilac Pearls to the card front and added it to an A2 size card base.

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears here to share a card I made using the XOXO stamp set.  For my card, I’m going to add it to a watercolor background full of reds and pinks. This card is perfect for Valentine’s Day or just to send a card of love.

For the card background, I used a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock that I cut to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”. I created a blend of beautiful reds and pinks using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. These pens are watercolor pens and any watercolor pens would work with this technique. I started at the top of the cardstock by adding ink from left to right with my darkest color and ended at the bottom of the cardstock with my lightest color. I added the colors in the following order: Deep Red, Carmine Red, Pink, Peach Pink, and Sugared Almond Pink. After adding the ink to the cardstock, I used a water brush to spread the ink. I love how beautifully the ink colors blended together.  Next, I flicked some gold pigment ink onto the background. I set the background aside to dry. 

I stamped the large XOXO stamp onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored the images. I die cut the XOXO stamp with the coordinating dies. I added the XOXO stamp to the watercolor background. 

I stamped the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day“ onto vellum with Versamark ink and added gold embossing powder. 

Finally, I added the watercolor background to a piece of gold cardstock. I used gold cardstock to bring out the splatters of gold in the watercolor background and in the sentiment. Finally, I added it to an A2 card base.
