Cards

Polka Dot Hello

Hello!

Is anyone else in denial that September is just about over? I cannot believe that tomorrow is the beginning of October! It’s sad to see the months flying by, but it’s exciting because that means sneak peeks for Practicing Creativity begin. Lots of fun stuff coming your way in the next few days…..

Before I get too excited about future posts, let’s start with this one. ;) I made this card a while back for a publication call and never got around to posting it after it was rejected. After re-looking at the card, I think the magazine made the right choice- it’s pretty simple.

In closing, I want to let the DeNami Design fans know that something exciting is happening on Saturday- World Card Making Day. Can’t spill the beans yet, but if you have wanted to become “famous”, you just might get your chance!

That’s all for today. Thanks for stopping by, sweet blog friends. I recently noticed an increase in my blog viewings, which made me super happy. Maybe all those who used to follow before Summer are returning?

Stamps: Polka Dot Basics (PTI), Harold’s ABC’s, Bannerific (Lawn Fawn)
Paper White, Brown Kraft, Aqua Mist, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores (PTI)

Ink: Vintage Sepia, Versamark, Tea Dye Duo (PTI)

Other: Spring Moss grosgrain ribbon, Mat Stack 3 die, paper piercer

Missing You

Hey there!

Today I have a super cutesy to share. One of my “sisters” (not a blood one, but she might as well be!) recently went off to college, so I wanted to send her a card to cheer her up. She’s all the way in South Carolina, so she’s a LOOOOONG way from home. She’s a kid at heart, so I thought this little octopus would bring a smile to her face. Judging from her text, I think it did just that. :)

No too terribly much to explain about this card…..well, other than this octopus was only $1! When I was in Colorado Springs, I went to Simple Pleasures with my girl, Michele. Got a couple of great $1 stamps, so that made me happy. Can’t beat a bargain! Granted, it’s not the best quality stamp, but it did the trick for this card!

That’s all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog- hope this card brought a smile to your face! :)

Stamps: Look Up, Guiding Light Sentiments (WPlus9), Octopus (Imaginisce)
Paper White, Black, Magenta, Bitty Dot Basics (PTI)

Ink: Jet Black
Other: Aquamarine rhinestones, Copics, EK Success bracket border punch, corner rounder

Elegant Floral Christmas

Hello friends!
Today I have a pretty long post….but most of it’s pictures! :) A few weeks back I felt like creating some Christmas items, so I spent a full night creating cards and decorating a gift bag. Let me tell you, I had SOOO much fun working with these colors (and stamps!).
Here’s a closer view of the gift bag. I did some of my ribbon pleating (click here for tutorial) and then added Red Rhinestones on top of the ribbon. Who can resist bling AND ruffles?!
This picture highlights on variation of the card. Did you see the glitter I added to the plaid? I’ve done this on previous cards and just LOOOOOVE the look! Adds so sparkle and makes the card just a little bit more festive. ;)
Here’s the other variation of the card. I can’t decide which one I like better- which do you prefer? This one has the Three Line Border in black and is matted with some Lime cardstock.
Here are a few snapshot of the gift bag up close. You can see the rhinestones better here. Oh yes, before I forget, I did my “fancy bow” technique for the ribbons at the top of the bag. (Click here for the tutorial.)
I hope that you were able to follow this post- I know it’s a lot more than I usually post. If you would like to see my videos in one place, you can view them on my YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe (link at the top of the YouTube page) so you can be notified whenever I post a new video!
Lastly, before you leave my blog, I want to share the video I created on how to create one of the cards above. It’s not my best video, but at least you’ll be able to see how I created the card from start to finish. :)
Thanks for spending some time with me today! I hope you were inspired….. since there are quite a few supplies used, I won’t be posting the supply list. However, if you have a question on something, let me know. I’ll be happy to answer it for you!

OTWC Challenge #26

Happy Monday!
Today I have a bright & cherry card to share! In my effort to try and keep my blog exciting, I’m going to plan on participating in more challenges. While browsing blogs, I was taken aback by the awesome colors in the OTWC Color Challenge #26. How happy are these colors together?!
For this card I brought out some more of my Waltzingmouse stamps; Bountiful Basket Additions, Very Vintage Labels No. 5 and Musical Backgrounds. To bring lots of sparkle to the card, I used Aquamarine Rhinestones in addition to Citrone and Magenta glitters
For quite some time, I’ve had requests on how I create my bows. I FINALLY got around to posting a video for you all! I’m so sorry it’s taken so long……
Wasn’t that a piece of cake? Like I said in the video, it does take a bit of practice. I’ve been doing bows since before I can remember- literally thousands of them. Keep at it- it’s so worth it in the end!
I hope you enjoyed all of this post today! If you get a chance, be sure to join in the Off the Wall color challenge and let Kim know I sent you. ;) She’s a sweetheart and I know she loves having lots of people join in on the fun!
Have a great rest of your day!

Embellish Background Stamping Color Challenge

Hello there, sweet friends!
You know what time it is? Embellish Color Challenge time! I wasn’t planning on stamping tonight, but I just couldn’t resist Ashley’s amazingly beautiful challenge- Embellish Background Stamping. I’m amazed at how she consistently comes up with new ideas and amazing color combos! This time around was no exception….
I recently went on a shopping spree- MAJOR shopping spree. Got a ton of PTI goodies, Practicing Creativity ribbons and then I purchased my first Waltzingmouse stamps! I was so amazed at how quickly they got to me.  As you can see, I got Musical Backgrounds and Very Vintage Labels No. 5. Oh no, I didn’t stop there….I also got two other sets. Yup, gonna be holding off on crafting buys for a little while. ;)
Onto the card….. I couldn’t resist pulling out the musical note border- it’s so different than anything I have. I was trying to figure out what color ribbon I should use when I remembered I had some fabulous gray ribbon from the dollar store! Gotta love using some items from the crafting stash!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I would love for you to leave a comment- I miss hearing from you all!

Shopping Gals

Wednesday greetings!
I hope your week has been going well. It’s been another crazy week for me, but what’s new, right? ;) I’ve been keeping busy with work, spending time with the family, crafting and then trying to keep some sort of social life. It just amazes me how time gets filled so quickly!
Today I have some super fun and bright cards to share. Both of these cards feature the Shopping Gals by DeNami Design. Seriously, how funny are these gals? They look like they are having such a ball shopping together- reminds me of me and my girlfriends! What I REALLY love about this stamp- it’s SUPER easy to color with Copics!
This next card has the same layout, I just changed out the Spellbinder die and used different colors. I had the hardest time deciding what card I liked better, but I think I decided on the first one. I just love the Celery Grosgrain w/ Satin Edge! Super happy that I was able to mix the two companies I design for into one card!
I hope you had as much fun looking at these cards as I had making them! Until next time, have a good one and thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

Happy Birthday Mom

Hi there, blog friends!
Today is a very special day…..it’s my momma’s birthday! If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I get all of my creativity from her. She is the owner/ designer of DeNami Design– the company that I work for. She has encouraged me in my creative endeavors so very much. I am SO thankful that I got her creative genes! ;) I went a dedicated a blog post to her over on the DeNami blog- I know she’d love it if you left her a note!
That’s all for me today- I really just wanted to dedicate this day (and post) to my mom. She has touched my life and the lives of so many crafters nationwide. Someday, hopefully I can have the same impact!
Have a lovely Tuesday! I’ll see you tomorrow for some super fun cards!

Mimi’s Pajama Party

Happy Monday!
It’s the 20th, which means it’s time for a new DeNami Design challenge! This time around, we are bringing you a sketch by DeNami DT member, Sherri Thompson. I must say, this sketch was very intimidating to me- I wasn’t sure about the extra elements on the side. I knew that most people would do buttons so I wanted to go outside the box and added rhinestones. :)
I’ve been on a kick of using my Copics, so I thought I’d bring out a super fun Mimi stamp. I chose the Mimi’s Pajama Party stamp, along with the Let’s Get Together stamp set. How fun are these stamps?! DeNami Design has an AWESOME selection of the Mimi images- click here to view them all!
If you have a DeNami stamp, we would LOVE for you to join us in this challenge! It’s always so fun to see your creations and we always love having “newbies”!
Thanks for stopping by, sweet blog friends! I have lots of new cards coming to the blog this week- be sure to check by often!!

Hot Air Balloon Love

Hello there!
Remember how I mentioned I may post more than one card at a time? Well, today I have THREE brand new ones to show you. Unfortunately these were all rejects from a recent publication call….I thought they had potential, but I guess it just didn’t work this time around.

This first card showcases one of my favorite dies at the moment; Ornamental by Tim Holtz. I just love this shape! I was eyeing the SU! one for quite some time, but didn’t want to go through the hassle of buying through a rep. When I went to a recent show, I saw that Maria from It’s Cheaper Than Therapy carried it. PERFECT! I was able to support my girl, plus I got a really awesome product. ;)
This next card features softer colors, which also just happens to be my favorite from the bunch. There’s something so fresh and inviting about this card. Oh yes and I can’t forgot to mention this scrumptious Celery grosgrain w/ satin edge! Seriously love this style of ribbon! I bought a lot and have already used it all! :)
This last card features more bold and rich colors. You’ll notice that I used the delicious Red grosgrain w/ satin edge on this one. Isn’t that bow awesome? Love how easy it is to create such nice big bows!

So, which of the three cards was your favorite? Since there’s so many cards, I’m not going to type out all of the supplies used, but I DID want to point out that these fabulous hot air balloons are from the Look Up set. This set has sold out so many times…..be sure to get it while there’s still some in stock! ;)

Thanks for stopping by! I’d love for you to leave me a comment- I miss hearing from my blog readers!
