Tutorial: Stamped Backgrounds + Giveaway

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends!

Heather here to share another duo of cards – this time I thought it would be fun to use one stamp set two ways to make a card for a friend who was feeling down! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I want someone to just come cry alongside me and that makes me feel better, and sometimes I need someone to make me laugh and forget my troubles. Each of these cards fills one of those needs!

For these cards I used the polka dot umbrella from the Rainy Days stamp set – I love how versatile this set is! And those little faces are the perfect touch!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

I first stamped the deeper “Smoke” gray color, then added the pink ones using “Pale Blush Pink” ink.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

Then I came in with the “Fog” ink and filled in pretty much all the open white space – I wanted to create a backdrop of umbrellas in soft muted tones.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

I stamped one bold black umbrella and my sentiment with Versafine Pigment ink – makes it super crisp and black, plus it sits right on top of the other inks so it stays bold and black.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

Finally, I came in and added the little sad faces – I used black ink to stamp on the deeper gray umbrellas, and the deeper gray to stamp on the pink ones – leaving the pale gray umbrellas plain so it wasn’t overwhelming.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

Then I moved on to the rainbow umbrellas! Here are the inks I chose to use – perfect ROYGBV!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

Particularly when using the bold colors – make sure and clean your stamp really well so the colors stay crisp and true! I’m really loving the Lawn Fawn Stamp Shammy these days – it does a beautiful job cleaning the stamps – as you can see in the photo below, it is VERY well loved! :)

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

Once I stamped all my random umbrellas, I added my sentiment in black ink, the umbrella handles with the deeper gray ink, and the raindrops to fill in the holes using the softer gray ink.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

I added a scallop in black around the panels just to help it pop, then chose a gray card base for the softer color one, and a pale blue card base for the bright rainbow one.

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

And an umbrella card has to have a few Clear Droplets, don’t you think? I love to use a tiny dot of Glossy Accents to attach them – it holds them super well! I love how you can see through the droplets to the images underneath – just like a real droplet of water!

Pretty Pink Posh: Stamped Backgrounds

And here’s a closer look at each of the cards:

Would love to hear which one of these you would love to receive if you were feeling down! Or like me, does it depend on the time?

Tutorial: Rainbow Shakers

Pretty Pink Posh: Rainbow Shakers

Hello there everyone! It’s Nina-Marie here with you today and I have a fun set of shaker cards to share with you that feature not only a bunch of Pretty Pink Posh’s fabulous new iridescent 4mm sequins, but ALSO all four of the Storybook dies in the Storybook collection! Oh and did I mention that the shaker cards I am creating are RAINBOW shaker cards????

Pretty Pink Posh: Rainbow Shakers

Pretty Pink Posh: Rainbow Shakers

I love making shaker cards and the Storybook dies from Pretty Pink Posh are SO perfect for making cute little shakers! My favorite from the Storybook collection is the new Storybook 4 die; I love all the tiny squares! I actually used this die in another video not too long ago to create a “peek-a-boo” card… you might want to check out after you’ve finished up this post; you can find it on the Pretty Pink Posh blog here.

Rainbow Shakers with Storybook Dies_6

Pretty Pink Posh: Rainbow Shakers

And since I was turning these Storybook dies into shakers, I thought this would be a perfect way to showcase the GORGEOUS new iridescent sequin colors! So I used a rainbow assortment (literally!) of 4mm and 6mm sequins to create my shakers. The colors I used are as follows:

Fairytale Fuchsia // Ballerina Pink // Strawberry Burst

Peridot Mist /Peacock Feathers // Ocean Spray

Bermuda Blue // Blue Lagoon // Lavender Moon

Sunshine Glow // Iridescent Mini Heart confetti

Pretty Pink Posh: Rainbow Shakers

Yes, I know that’s a lot of sequins, but the result is SO worth it! Be sure to check out the video below to see how I created this card set from start to finish! If you enjoy, please give the video a big thumbs up and subscribe to our channel for more inspiration!

Throwback Thursday: Stitched Photo Frames

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback ThursdayHello!  Amy K. here and it’s Throwback Thursday with a look back at some of your favorite Pretty Pink Posh dies.  This is a great time to pull out some of the older dies and create something new!

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday

One of my favorite die sets from Pretty Pink Posh is the Stitched Photo Frame Dies.  These dies are PERFECT for creating some mini cards and make them into tiny shakers!  I’ve used the largest of the Stitched Photo Frame Dies for this trio of shaker cards.  The photo frame has the perfect place to stamp sentiments that are just fun little “pick me up” phrases from Birdie Friends and Birdie Notes. For each mini shaker, I’ve added some of my favorite Pretty Pink Posh sequin mixes!  Here’s a little about each mini shaker:

I stamped and Copic colored the largest birdie from Birdie Friends and die cut with the coordinating die.  The sentiment, from Birdie Notes, was stamped onto my Stitched Photo Frame.  The sequin mix called Sunny Days (which was limited edition) was used for this shaker.

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday

I stamped and Copic colored the puppy from Holiday Pals and die cut with the coordinating die.  The sentiment, from Birdie Friends, was stamped onto my Stitched Photo Frame.  The sequin mix called Wisteria Blossoms was used for this shaker.

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday

I stamped and Copic colored the bunny from Holiday Pals and die cut with the coordinating die.  The sentiment, from Birdie Friends, was stamped onto my Stitched Photo Frame.  The sequin mix called Sweet Pea was used for this shaker.

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday

I can’t wait to give these out with a short handwritten note inside!  Who doesn’t love a shaker card?

Along with the great mini cards that Amy has shared with us, I have a few cards that have used the Stitched Photo Frames in the past. Click on the photos below to see the original post from the designers.

Wishing You Sunshine

Wishing-You-SunshineJeanne here today!  I wanted to share how easy it is to create color block backgrounds for your projects using the largest border from the Stitched Borders 3 Set.

This die is ¾” x 6” long with a stitching along both longer edges of the die.   Simply cut several strips in different colors and attach them to a panel of card stock.

Wishing-You-SUnshine-Five

Different color combinations can be used to create lots of great looks like ombre and rainbow patterns in your favorite colors for different occasions.  I chose a rainbow background of brights for the little birdie from Birdie Friends today!

Wishing-You-Sunshine-Two

When you have all your stitched borders arranged on the panel,  trim the panel to size.  Now for the fun part – creating a scene!

Wishing-You-Sunshine-Three

I topped the panel with a die cut Scallop Frame cut from white card stock for contrast.

Wishing-You-Sunshine-Four

I stamped little birdie with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers before die cutting and attaching it with adhesive foam tape. The sentiment, umbrella and clouds are from the Rainy Days Stamp Set with coordinating dies. I love that Pretty Pink Posh die sets are complete with cuts for every single image in the stamp sets.

Wishing-You-Sunshine-One

The final touch is a sprinkle of Clear Droplets for rain – I used the small and the large here.  They shine like morning dew!

Thanks for stopping by!  What will you make today?

Organized Stamp & Die Storage + Giveaway

Pretty Pink Posh: Organized Stamp & Die Storage

Hello everyone! Today we are so excited about this post; we will be sharing with you a couple of ways to organize your stamps and dies; one more widely known and the other as a cost-saving alternative.

I love having my supplies organized in a pretty (although its mandatory for me that it is a functional-pretty). However, most every one of us has only a limited amount of funds that can be spent on their crafty supplies each month. For me, I would rather have more tools, stamps, inks, paper, etc. then spend too much of my allocated craft funds on organizational materials.

I’ll be showing you in my video for today how I store all my stamps and dies, but I wanted to cover a couple of things here in the post too…

Pretty Pink Posh: Organized Stamp & Die Storage

Let’s first talk about stamp/die pockets… I used to keep all my stamps and dies in their original packaging; but after a while the packaging would wear out from constant use, so I needed a new method. I used the Avery Elle storage sleeves for a while and though they are great and hold up wonderfully, I wanted something more cost effective; I also wasn’t a huge fan of the flap closure as I like things more easily accessible.

storage pockets

Organized Stamp & Die Storage Organized Stamp & Die Storage

Organized Stamp & Die Storage Organized Stamp & Die Storage Organized Stamp & Die Storage

That’s when I came up with taking 5×7 photo sleeves and using them as stamp and die storage pockets. The kind I buy comes 50 sheets to a box, with two sleeves per sheet. I cut each sheet down and by doing so, I result in a total of 100 pockets for just over $10. Most photo sleeves are designed to withstand a lot of handling and I have been using my oldest pockets for about 2 years now and have not needed to replace any.

Pretty Pink Posh: Organized Stamp & Die Storage

For keeping my dies organized, I like using magnetic vent covers. These are thin magnetic sheets that are easily found in local hardware stores (or online). Be sure to watch the video to see the magnetic sheets in action. If you are crafting on a budget, you could skip using the magnetic sheets and simply store your dies in pockets loose.

Pretty Pink Posh: Organized Stamp & Die Storage

Finally, I wanted to mention how I store my stamps and dies when they are not in use. I use InterDesign fridge bins; I usually buy the two-row bins, as I like these best (again, personal preference). However, I do use other Fridge Bins in various sizes for a variety of other materials and supplies.

May Product Release Blog Hop

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Blog Hop

Hello, sweet friends!

It’s time for the Product Release Blog Hop for the May 2016 release. Many of you have already placed orders, but for those who were wanting for more inspiration, today the design team and special guests have all sorts of inspiration to share!

Today we have a special treat- a card by new PPP designer, Jeanne. I simply adore her style and as you’ll see from this card, she is super creative!

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Blog Hop

For Jeanne’s card, she used the Birdie Friends stamp set to create her darling scene. I love how she made the birdie peek out from the Storybook 4 die set (like a window).

The bright pink cardstock was cut using the Stitched Borders 4 die set and made to look like curtains. How creative is this?!

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Blog Hop
Look at the creative way she used the branch and leaves from the set- so genius! I love that she stamped/ die cut some of the leaves, but on some leaves, she just used the die cut. To finish off the scene, she added a sprinkling of the Summer Flowers Mix. These little flowers go with the leaves perfectly!
Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Blog Hop

In this photo you can really see the stitching detail that goes around the Storybook dies. It’s such a simple element, but it adds so much to your projects!

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Blog Hop

Tutorial: Rose Gold Birdie Shakers

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends!

Heather here to share another duo of cards – this time using the GORGEOUS new Rose Gold sequins (SOOOO pretty!!!) and the newest addition to the line of Storybook dies – Storybook 4 – all paired up with a couple older stamp and die sets!

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

I started off by choosing a couple pattern papers, die cutting my Storybook dies from white cardstock, then trimming the sides down with my paper trimmer. I then used the Scallop Frame dies, and the negative center piece die cut out of vellum – this will provide the backer to the shaker portion.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

Added an acetate window, then trimmed down strips of foam adhesive to form the portion that will be filled with sequins. Don’t remove the backing to the foam adhesive yet though!

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

Next up, I chose a couple sentiments from Birdie Friends stamp set, stamped them in coordinating ink on some Stitched Speech Bubble dies.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

The little birdie from Birdie Notes stamp set was stamped, colored with Copics to match the color schemes, and then die cut with the coordinating Birdie Notes Dies.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

Next, I filled up my shaker windows with a mix of 4mm and 6mm Rose Gold sequins – normally I put my sequins on the backing of my shaker, but since I was using semi-transparent vellum, I filled the window portion – then I could still see through the vellum enough to make sure I was adhering it on squarely.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

These were really fun to pick up and shake around at this point too by the way! Felt like a little rhythm instrument! :) Anyway, a bit of good adhesive hid around the outside edges easily attached it at this point to my pattern paper for my card front.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

Finished off by attaching the sentiment and birdie to each card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Shakers

Here is a closer look at those lovely new sequins and that die! Aren’t they a perfect match?!?!?

May 2016 Release

The May release is now live in the shop and let me tell you, I am so very excited to finally be sharing these products with you all. When I am prepping for upcoming releases, many of the products are “in the works” for 6-12 months. Whether it be in the design process, being manufactured for testing or inspection, or me just waiting until a I think it’s the perfect time to release a product. When I finally get to share them with you, I feel like I can finally spill a long-time secret!

DIE SETS

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Release
Today’s card shows off the new Storybook 4 die set in a different way. Instead of showing all of the open areas, I decided to just have the corners peek out in the form of shakers. I, of course, had to pair it with the Sparkling Clear Mix (my favorite go-to pack)! With the dual stitching on the dies, you get to see that nice stitching around on the shapes, which I think really enhances the look on your cards.

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 Release

For my focal point, I used the birdie from the Birdie Friends stamp set and paired it with one of the bows from the Twine and Bows die set. I knew that I wanted something eye catching in the center, so I die cut one of the Scallop Circles in some glitter cardstock. I think I may need an intervention soon- I’m so in love with glitter cardstock in all colors!

To finish off the card, I added some Lavender Moon sequins in both the 4mm and 6mm size to the corners. Sweet and fairly simple, but I know the recipient will love getting a card like this in the mail!

Pretty Pink Posh: May 2016 ReleaseIn the past, I’ve done videos to show each of the new products and I really wanted to do this again this month. This is a fun way for me to share stories behind the products, some different ideas and also the cards I made from this release.

Tutorial: Birdie Bookmarks

Hello everyone, Joni here for peak of the new upcoming Stitched Essentials 1 dies that release tomorrow, May 1st.

For this project I created a bookmark using this cute tag dies and coordinate using the cute chicks from the Birdie Friends stamp set. The chicks were stamped directly on the bookmarks and colored it with Copics. The sentiments I used were from Wplus9 Going Places stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Bookmarks

To begin, I die-cut he tag only to where the black arrow is pointing.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Bookmarks

Next, I die-cut again to prolonged the tag and make it in to a bookmark. The pink arrow is showing where the cut is supposed to stop. The black arrow shows that you have to flip the plate and cut this way.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Bookmarks

This picture is just showing you where the cut should stop.

Pretty Pink Posh: Birdie Bookmarks

Next, I created a tassel for the bookmark. If you want a video tutorial, I used THIS one as a guide to make a proper tassel.

Here’s another look.
