Tutorial: Stamped Backgrounds + Giveaway

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends!
Heather here to share another duo of cards – this time I thought it would be fun to use one stamp set two ways to make a card for a friend who was feeling down! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I want someone to just come cry alongside me and that makes me feel better, and sometimes I need someone to make me laugh and forget my troubles. Each of these cards fills one of those needs!
For these cards I used the polka dot umbrella from the Rainy Days stamp set – I love how versatile this set is! And those little faces are the perfect touch!

I first stamped the deeper “Smoke” gray color, then added the pink ones using “Pale Blush Pink” ink.

Then I came in with the “Fog” ink and filled in pretty much all the open white space – I wanted to create a backdrop of umbrellas in soft muted tones.

I stamped one bold black umbrella and my sentiment with Versafine Pigment ink – makes it super crisp and black, plus it sits right on top of the other inks so it stays bold and black.

Finally, I came in and added the little sad faces – I used black ink to stamp on the deeper gray umbrellas, and the deeper gray to stamp on the pink ones – leaving the pale gray umbrellas plain so it wasn’t overwhelming.

Then I moved on to the rainbow umbrellas! Here are the inks I chose to use – perfect ROYGBV!

Particularly when using the bold colors – make sure and clean your stamp really well so the colors stay crisp and true! I’m really loving the Lawn Fawn Stamp Shammy these days – it does a beautiful job cleaning the stamps – as you can see in the photo below, it is VERY well loved! :)

Once I stamped all my random umbrellas, I added my sentiment in black ink, the umbrella handles with the deeper gray ink, and the raindrops to fill in the holes using the softer gray ink.

I added a scallop in black around the panels just to help it pop, then chose a gray card base for the softer color one, and a pale blue card base for the bright rainbow one.

And an umbrella card has to have a few Clear Droplets, don’t you think? I love to use a tiny dot of Glossy Accents to attach them – it holds them super well! I love how you can see through the droplets to the images underneath – just like a real droplet of water!

And here’s a closer look at each of the cards:

Would love to hear which one of these you would love to receive if you were feeling down! Or like me, does it depend on the time?

In the past, I’ve done videos to show each of the new products and I really wanted to do this again this month. This is a fun way for me to share stories behind the products, some different ideas and also the cards I made from this release.
