Sneak Peek: January Die Cuts

Hi friends, Angelica here excited to share with you a sneak peek of the upcoming January release. We are celebrating Pretty Pink Posh’s 5th birthday, which means this release is full of birthday bliss! Today I will be focusing on a couple new dies that are in the release.

For my first card, I used the new Happy Birthday Script Die. I die-cut it 3 times out of white card stock, then one time out of white card stock that I had blended Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto. I glued and stacked the words together with Ranger Multi Media Matte.

Next I die-cut the large heart from the new Scallop Hearts die set out of white card stock. I blended Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink onto another piece of white card stock, then die cut with the heart again. I used the center of the inked heart for my card front.

To assemble the card front, I pieced the heart together, then fit it back into the die-cut frame. I mounted the card front onto a piece of craft foam, then attached it to an A2 size card base. I glued the words on, and added a little cupcake bear from the new Cupcake Critters stamp set that I had previously stamped and colored. My final touch was adding a few Sea Glass Jewels.

My second card features the new With Love Shaker Die. I used Faber Castell Polychromo pencils to color the flowers and heart.

I started with a soft base of color first, then went back and added shading. Once the coloring was finished, I assembled the shaker element. I used the new Sugar Plum Confetti Mix, as well as the Sugar Plum Jewel Mix for inside the window. I closed the window with a piece of pink card stock.

I attached the card front to an A2 size card base, and added jewels from the new Party Jewels Mix to the middle of the yellow flowers.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check back tomorrow to buy the new release bundle and see the reveal of all the new products!

Sneak Peek: Cupcake Critters

Hello stamping friends! Suzy here and I’m so excited to get to share with you one of the brand new Pretty Pink Posh stamp and dies sets called Cupcake Critters. This one was my favorite from the January 8th release and it goes so well with many of the other new birthday stamps and dies! Today I have two cards to share with you that focus on these cute birthday critters, but also use some of the other new products (which might be a sneak peek for you today!).

If you are familiar with my card style, you have probably seen me make cards with this technique before. I actually try to make one with each new stamp set because I love the look of random stamping so much! For this card, I stamped all of the images in the Cupcake Critters stamp set on white cardstock with a natural color of ink for no-line coloring. I like the images to go topsy turvy and curve all different directions. I think my love for making puzzles makes this technique really fun for me! (Note: Use a Misti tool to make this much easier!).

I colored all the images with colored pencils. I use both Prismacolors and Polychromos as I love them both for different reasons. I’ve gone into these details on some of my past blog posts on my blog if you want to read about them. I added shadows behind each image with a gray Copic Marker (N2) to make them look like they are dimensional on the paper.

For the sentiment, I used the new Happy Birthday Script Dies die-cut from white cardstock twice. I glued the two together so they would be more dimensional. I colored them with colored pencils to match my card front, but I think it would be much easier to color them with Copics or even use colored cardstock! I then used Glossy Accents over them and covered it in fine white glitter. I used some of the new Party Jewels Mix around the sentiment and as the dot on the I.

This card is my other favorite type of card to make – a shaker card. The PPP products lend themselves so well for shakers too! I started by stamping all of the images on white cardstock with a natural color of ink so I would have no-line coloring. I colored them in with colored pencils again, but this time I decided I wanted them to have outlines, so I used a fine tip black marker to add them. I used Glossy Accents to add some glitter to the cupcakes.

I used the largest Stitched Hexagon Die to create a shaker window. I then watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with three colors – orange, yellow, and green that fit behind the window. I used several sequins and jewels inside the window including 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins, the new Party Jewels Mix, and the new Valentines Jewel Mix. I also stamped all of the confetti stamps from the new Pinata Party Stamp Set to include in the shaker window (I stamped them with a light color of ink and colored them with colored pencils, but you could just stamp them with colored ink).

I attached the colored critters to the front of the card overlapping the shaker window. I stamped the sentiment from the set (I had to cut it apart to use it horizontally) with a light color of ink and then drew over the letters with colored pencils. I used several shades of green and blue so it would look multi-colored.

Thanks for visiting today and don’t forget to stop by each day this week to see all of the new products! I love the birthday theme as birthday cards are the ones I need the most! I was covered with glitter on New Years Day after making these cards which you would think meant I had a great New Years Eve, but unfortunately it didn’t! (in bed by 9 haha). Have a great NEW YEAR friends and happy stamping!

Sneak Peek: Floral Hearts

Welcome to another day of Pretty Pink Posh January 2019 Product Release Sneak Peeks. Alix here showing you a beautiful set of stamp called Floral Hearts that you could fulfill your needs all year around.

It is a small set (3 x 4) with coordinating dies. I made two cards for different occasions to demonstrate how you could utilize this gem.

To begin with both of my cards, I stamped all images from Floral Hearts on a piece of 80lbs white card stock paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my Copic markers. I die cut them with Floral Heart coordinating dies and set aside.

I ink blended background of A2 sized watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass and Picked Raspberry. Then I splattered water drops over the background and blotted excess water with a piece of paper towel to create some texture. A dreamy background is done!

I used the outer heart shaped die cut from the coordinating dies to cut the upper center open in order to create a window. I attached a piece of acetate paper underneath the window and  poured Valentine Confetti Mix to the background heart. In the end, I closed this shaker window using some foam strips and added already colored wreath on the top.

I stamped the sentiment “Have Courage. I believe in you!” using Versamark embossing ink and embossed with Metallic gold embossing powder. To bring the focus to the center, I added white frame cut to the card background using Scallop Frames Dies. I arranged a few Valentine Mix Jewels to finish this Not-So -Traditional Valentine’s card.

Now here comes a very traditional heart to heart Valentine’s Card. I ink blended background of A2 sized watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed. I Again splattered water drops over the background and blotted excess water with a piece of paper towel to create some texture. As you could see, this technique comes in very handy.

I assembled some colored and cut images on the top of prepped background using Multi Medium Matte and Foam tapes. In order to have my sentiment piece to pop, I inked the inner piece of heart with Worn Lipstick oxide ink. I stamped one of small sentiment that comes with the Floral Heart Stamp set onto a piece of black card stock using Versamark embossing ink and embossed with White embossing powder. I hand cut the sentiment with scissors into a rectangle strip and attached it to the center of heart with Foam tape.At last, I embellished the card using my all time favorite 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequins and Jewels in Valentine Mix.

I hope you already fell in love with this set of stamp and dies after these two cards I made. Be sure to come back to check out more great products we have in our first release of 2019!

Sneak Peek: Pinata Party

Hello Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Melody here today and I am excited to give you a sneak peek at the new Pinata Party stamp set and Pinata Party coordinating dies. One of my creative goals this year is to make more birthday cards and this stamp set will get lots of use!

I started by creating my background. I cut a piece of watercolor paper to fit the card front and sponged on three colors of Oxide Distress Inks (Broken China, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn) and then spritzed  with water. I let paper dry and then stamped the sentiment from the Pinata Party stamp set in Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

I colored the piñata with Copic Markers and used a glitter pen to add a coat of glitter to the horn, mane, and tail.Using foam tape I attached twine to the piñata. I used five different colors of inks to stamp the banners.

Using the Misti Stamping Tool I randomly stamped confetti and streamers in different colors on the card front. So fun and festive! I finished off the card with jewels from the new Party Jewels Mix.

Thanks for joining us today! All the new January products will be available on January 8th.

Sneak Peek: Crocus Flowers + Simple Sayings: Courage

Hi, Friends! It’s Caly here with you today sharing a card using the brand new Crocus Flowers and Simple Sayings: Courage sets!

To begin, I stamped the Crocus Flowers using a Copic-friendly ink on some white cardstock. I colored the images using Copic markers.  I outlined the petal borders using the darkest purple in V09, then added flicks of FV2 from the border towards the center, blending as I go, but stopping before it reaches the center.  Then I added B00 to the area to add light blue, then went between the blue and previous medium shade of purple with BV01 to blend the colors with each petal. Sometimes, I had to go back with the FV2 to add some contrast back, but it went fairly quick.  On the flowers with filament, I colored flicked them with the Y08 marker first, then colored around it, leaving the yellow bright. For the foliage, I used G03 and G19.

After coloring, I die-cut the images using the coordinating Crocus Flowers dies and set them aside to work on my background.  Ink-blended the card using Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers (from top to bottom). I then sprayed the panel with droplets of water.  Typically, I dab it up with a napkin but by the time I got to it, it had already soaked into the paper so that works too! I also splattered the panel with white ink. After that was dry (within minutes), I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink to heat-emboss the sentiment from the Simple Sayings: Courage stamp set using with clear embossing powder.

To finish the card, I trimmed 1/8″ off each side and added the foliage and crocus flowers with a slight overhang to give the card some added interest. That’s a wrap!  I hope you enjoyed this card! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to come back for more inspiration! The release is January 8th and we’re celebrating Pretty Pink Posh’s 5th birthday starting the 9th and will have lots of inspiration for you!

Yellow Anemones

Hello, Gemma here today to share a card featuring the beautiful Anemones stamp set.

I enjoy using colour palettes when making cards. Limiting yourself to a set of 3-4 colours is a fun challenge and I always love the results I get with this technique. My colours for this card are yellow, grey and pale blue, along with black for stamping.

I stamped out the images then coloured them with copic markers. I used the following colours: Y00, Y15, E55, N1, N3, and N5. I then die cut the images with the coordinating dies. Next I took a piece of white card, the same size as my card base, and used a Scallop Border Die to cut it down. I then stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Greetings stamp set.

On the card base, I added a light blend of tumbled glass distress oxide ink to the top. I then arranged my flowers and leaves along the edge of the scallop border, securing with tape. Before adding the panel to my card base, I rounded the bottom corners of both with a 1/2 inch corner chomper. I added lots of foam tape and adhered the panel to the card base.

For the finishing touch, I added some Sea Glass jewels to the center of the anemones, as well as around the sentiment and flowers. These add a bit of shine and dimension and really bring the card together.

I hope you enjoyed this card. There are lots of possibilities with these stamp sets!

Winter Greetings

Hi everyone, Merry Christmas Eve! It’s Lindsay here on the Pretty Pink Posh blog today with a winter themed card using the Penguin Pals Stamps and Coordinating Dies, Happy Snowman Stamps and Coordinating Dies, and Winter Wonderland Stamps.

For this card I started off with inking up a background with Distress Oxide Inks. I used Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass. I then heat embossed the snowflake images from the Winter Wonderland Stamp Set onto the ink blended background, keeping in mind what would be showing through the window. I then die cut the front of the card using the Window Frames Dies and stamped a greeting from the Caroling Critters Stamp Set.

I then got to stamping my two images and copic coloring them, keeping with the blue color scheme. I used B00, B02, B04 for the blue coloring and BG11, BG13, and BG 18 for the teal coloring. I used C5, C7, and C8 for the penguin. I shaded the snowman with B00 and the penguin with C1 on the white areas.

I adhered the die cut window to the ink blended background with a tape adhesive, adhered the images using foam tape, and finished off the card with some Ivory Jewels.

Aloha and Merry Christmas,

Lindsay

Tutorial: Caroling Critters Scene

Hello friends, Eloise here and today I have another Christmas card to share with you all. I will be creating a scene with the Caroling Critters stamp set along with the Happy Holidays Script Die and Pine Sprig Die and they will be fitting into the scene with little added accents to them.

Watch the video above   I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

To start off my project, I stamped my image onto a piece of 4” x 5 ½” white cardstock. I then took some small detail scissors and cut around the top half of the image to make it into a little snow bank. I then coloured in my scene with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Used: E95, E97, E99, E07 / E42, E43, E44, E47 / W00, W1, W3 / C0, C1, C3 / B41, B12, B16 / R24, R29, R89 / YG61, YG63, YG67 / Y11, Y15, Y38 / R81

Next, I die cut the Pine Sprigs out of some white cardstock and the Happy Holidays Script from black cardstock. I then adhered down my pine sprigs onto some scrap cardstock and coloured them in with the same green Copics I used earlier. Now that all my elements are ready, I took a Versamarker Pen and scribbled over the tops of my words and pine sprigs. I then added white embossing powder to each of the pieces and white heat embossed them. Now it looks like the snow is sitting of each of the pieces which is super cool.

Lastly, I used some Distress Inks to create a simple sky background, flicked on some water and dried it with my heat tool. I then added some white dots with a white gel pen as well for added interest. I adhered all my elements down with foam and flat adhesive and then for a last finishing touch I added on some Winter Days Confetti Mix around the background as well.

Distress Inks Used: Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the card and video. See you next time.

Decorative Ornaments 4 Ways + Video

Hello Pretty Pink Posh’ fans! This is Yana Smakula and I’m thrilled to be sharing a set of easy to make Holiday cards featuring Decorative Ornaments stamp set.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

For my card idea #1 I stamped the round ornament in red Copic marker friendly ink. My idea was to color this image using my markers and next re-stamp the same image over the colored one in gold embossing powder. I used R39, R27, R24, R22, R20 as well as C7, C5, C3 and C1 markers to color the ornament and topper. These are my go-to colors for anything red and cool gray.

After gold heat embossing this image over the colored one I cut it out using a coordinating die. To pop this ornament up on my card I die cut identical ornament shape out of thin self adhesive fun foam. I decided to use this thin fun foam instead of foam squares as I wanted to pop the ornament up just a bit and also wanted to have a solid layer of foam under the ornament to prevent it from sagging.

Next, I pieced an opening in the ornament and my panel and threaded gold sting through to tie into a small beautiful bow. To create a background for my card I drew horizontal stripes first using a red marker and next using a 1⁄2” paint brush and embossing ink. This gave me a beautiful red & gold stripe background. You can stamp a background like this if you prefer, but I wanted mine to have a more hand drawn look to it, so I opted to freehand one myself. I adhered my background on an A2 white side folding card base and added my ornament panel on top. I also embellished my ornament using gold jewels.

The rest of my projects feature much simpler ways to color or skip coloring altogether. For my card idea #2 I gold heat embossed one of the ornament images in the center of a blue panel. I also die cut ornament opening in a white panel and made sure to heat emboss the ornament so that it was centered in regards to both panels. I foam mounted the white panel with the sentiment over the blue one and to color the ornament, or rather to add some sparkle to the ornament, I used my shimmer pen and added a touch of shimmer. I find this to be a much simpler and easier way to color and also one that looks absolutely gorgeous, especially on dark cardstock. I also used clear jewels and adhered a few where the ornament design allowed. Lastly, I embellished this card using a few larger jewels in gold.

Here’s another variation of this idea – I gold heat embossed a number of ornament on a panel of blue cardstock and once again colored them using a shimmer pen for a touch of sparkle. This ended up being a flat one layer card that is easy to mail. I embellished it using sparkling clear jewels in the smallest size, and added larger gold jewels scattered around the card.

For my last idea featuring this stamp set I used ink and ink blending technique to add color to my gold heat embossed ornaments. I used just one ink pad color for each ornament and simply blended it heavier on one side and lighter on the other to imitate shadows and highlights.

To create a background for this card I used wide double sided tape and white glitter and added wide glitter stripes on my card front. I also gold heat embossed a sentiment and foam mounted the ornaments on top for a touch of dimension. Lastly, I used a white pen to add some white details to the card and embellished it using Pearl White jewels.

Thanks for joining us today! Happy crafting!
