Stomping By…..

Hello there!

Today I have another card to share with you featuring the current 10 Minute Craft Dash color palette. I remember back {not that long ago} when I was timid to pull out orange onto my cards. Now, I seem to sneak it on whenever I get a chance! Ah, the beauty of transitioning styles and going outside your comfort zone.

In case you haven’t seen the colors, here is what we are featuring in the challenge. If you’re new to the challenge, you can create any sort of crafty item, it just needs to be with these colors and take under 10 minutes to create. {Don’t worry, you can gather your supplies beforehand!}

And now, here is take 2 of giving these colors a whirl. I couldn’t help but pull out the Elephant for this card. Yes, I realize I pulled him recently out on this card and this card, but he’s just so adorable!

Time it took to create: 7 minutes 3 seconds

There’s a great prize up for grabs and this challenge definitely gives you a little workout. I hope you’ll come join in on the fun and also spread the word. The more, the merrier! :)

You ladies are fab- thank you for all the sweet comments recently. They totally make my day and with my health not being great, they definitely bring smiles to my face.

See you all tomorrow for my Thankful Thursday post. Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Thanks For Being You

Hello friends!

I just came from taking a look at the entries in the current 10 Minute Craft Dash. Oh my, I am loving all the beautiful entries and I’m so happy to read you like the colors featured! They are super fun ones! If you haven’t submitted yet, or have only created one item, you still have four days left to enter!

Today I’m sharing a card I created during the World Cardmaking Day {weekend} crafting session I had. Do you remember how I did a Featured Blogger post earlier this month? These stamps are from Dawn’s company, WPlus9 Design Studio! For this card, I used Very Vintage Greetings.

This color combination is unique for me, but I really like it! It is the essence of Autumn and goes perfectly with all the apple cider I’ve been drinking recently. :)

How have you all been doing? Since I haven’t been doing well health wise, I feel pretty disconnected and haven’t had a chance to hop around blogs as much as usual. If you’ve created something recently, or done a blog post in the last day or two, feel free to post links so I can check them out!

Big hugs to you all…..

Scallop Circle Flowers

Hi there, blog friends!

I thought I would pop in today with a card I made for one of my blog friends. This gal is an amazing card maker and I’ll admit, I always get intimidated when I send cards to my crafty friends. I tried to create something that fit her style and I think I was able to accomplish that.

You know how much I love my bright colors, but I have noticed that I’m starting to develop a love for pastel and muted colors as well. I suppose I’m really starting to enjoy the whole realm of colors….okay, maybe not neons, but maybe I’ll conquer those someday.

For my “flowers” I used the Scallop Circle, which I’ve done in the past. I wanted to change it up a little bit, so I punched out circles with patterned paper and then used a raised sticker to give it more dimension. I’ll be honest, this is my first time doing this, but I know it won’t be my last! It has such a great result and really makes the centers shine.

Do you have any fun plans this weekend? Last night I went to a concert, and I also have one tonight. Yay for fun weekends! I’m so thankful for friends who are willing to drive me so I can still enjoy these fun occasions.  :)

Talk with you all later…..

Change is Inevitable

Change is inevitable. Whether we deal with it in family life, work life, school life or your love life, change is something you can count on. Now if you’re anything like me, you don’t like change.

I’m a person who likes routine, almost to a fault. I know what I like at Starbucks, so I continually get the same thing. I know that I can count on Target to have things I like, so I go there. I know that my nail salon does my nails the way I like it, so I don’t venture out to other places. Yes, I like my routine.

You can ask my parents or siblings, or even my bestie, I don’t handle change all that well. In fact, I usually try to do everything I can to avoid it. However, as you all know, it’s inevitable…..

When my accident happened two months ago {story here}, this was the last thing that was in my plan. Having doctor appointment after doctor appointment wasn’t what I had in mind for the month of September. Getting three MRIs, two blood tests, an EKG, among other tests wasn’t a dream of mine. Not being able to drive and go through constant pain had never crossed my mind. Ever. All of these definitely have brought change into my life.

I’ll be the first to admit, recently my attitude about all of this hasn’t been that great. Okay, it’s been downright horrible. I’ve been wrestling with God as to why this is happening. I’m fairly certain I would be able to fill bathtubs with the amount of tears I have shed. I could go head-to-head with T. Swift on writing songs right about now.

This accident has changed me at my core. I’ve learned that each day really isn’t guaranteed. I’ve re-learned that change brings out what is inside and I still have a lot to work on. I’ve learned that while change may bring unpleasant things, there ARE still things to be grateful for and good can come from it. While I don’t know the reason for all of this, I am confident that God has a reason and someday {hopefully} I can help others who are going through difficult times.

Are you dealing with change? If so, how are you dealing with it, or how have you? I would love to hear from you all. Not only do you inspire me, you inspire the other PPP blog readers.

P.S. I had plans for this blog in December, but those have been put on hold…..for now. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to do it in 2013, but we shall see. One step at a time, right? :)

Thankful Thursday: October 18th

Hello there!

Today I’ll be bringing you two blog posts….this one is my weekly Thankful Thursday post, and my other one will be one that is more personal and heartfelt. I hope you’ll come back for that one!

These last 1 1/2 weeks, I’ve been setback physically and I’ve been having issues with my attitude towards the situation. I won’t go into it in this post…..let’s just say that I’m glad I do these posts as it reminds me once again to count my blessings. :)

  • Jamba Juice! It has helped me get through work lately since coffee hasn’t been settling well in my stomach.
  • Skype- getting to “see” family and friends who are far away is the second best thing to see them in person. Technology amazes me.
  • DT members who help me when I’m not able to craft {for work}. Thanks again, Wendy!
  • Family and friends who are willing to drive me around to the places I need to go.
  • My new bottle of perfume {refilling my favorite Viva La Juicy} that I was able to snag for half price. Yay for smelling pretty!

Since you’re reading this, that means you made it through another week. You know what that means? It’s your turn to say what you’re thankful for!  What are YOU thankful for this week? I’m hoping there will be some funny things listed…..however, I would love to see anything you’re thankful for. :)

Hope to see you later for my other blog post. Hugs!

Halloween Blog Hop

Good morning!

It’s time for the DeNami Halloween Blog Hop! I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while- there are just so many great DeNami Halloween stamps! In fact, I created so many cards, I had to limit what I put into this post and posted one on Friday {click here for the post}.

If you started the hop from the beginning, you should be coming from Deb’s blog. If you are just now starting, or got lost along the way, you can always head to the DeNami blog for the list of all the participants.
My first card showcases the new Halloween Kitty, along with the Boo {from the Halloween stamp set} and the Teeny Star Background. In addition, I used some WASHI TAPE. I’m in love with washi now….did you hear the news? DeNami is going to start carrying it soon! *happy dance*
scroll below for the complete supply list

Once again, I used my Sew Easy supplies {click here for my guide}. I think it looks great on cards, especially Halloween ones! There’s something about that black thread that brings the card together.

I know there’s quite a few more stops left, so I’ll wrap this up. Your next stop: Lisa Elton’s blog! Lisa is such a sweetheart and always has beautiful projects- I can’t wait to see what she made!

Have fun with the rest of the hop, I hope you were inspired by my card. Don’t forget to leave comments on each stop for your highest chance of snagging one of the $20 gift certificates!

NOT LISTED: wrinkle ribbon, scallop notecard, washi tape, marcasite rhinestones

Halloween Candy Corn Basket

Hello!
I have to say, I’m excited I’m finally getting around to posting this card. I created it a couple weeks ago, but it got lost in the massive amount of cards/ projects I’ve been creating recently. So many cards, so little time!
Recently, I saw a lot of the Candy Corn being sold while I was processing orders and I suddenly felt the urge to use it again. After trying to think of a creative way to use this little stamp, I thought it would be perfect with the Medium Spring Basket. I am SO thrilled with how it turned out!

I couldn’t resist pulling out my Sew Easy supplies again {click here for my guide}. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I am in love with sewing on my cards. It’s massively time consuming, but so therapeutic! I’ll have a card using the new roller I bought coming up soon….

If you want a chance to enter one of four $25 gift certificates, don’t forget about the Birthday Blog Giveaways I’m hosting. There’s only a little bit of time to enter….hurry and get your entries in!
Have you started making your Halloween cards yet? If so, what sorts of stamps did you use?  I’ll be back here on Sunday for the DeNami Halloween Blog Hop– it will be full of lots of inspiration! Hope to see you then!
