Mini Monster Cards + Video

Hi everyone! Rebecca Keppel here with a trio of mini monster cards! I was so excited to create with the Build a Monster Dies because you can make any number of different looking monsters by mixing and matching the dies and colors of cardstock you use!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

While my monsters were drying I put together some of the Candy Corn Border Dies, Spider Web Border Dies and one of the Stitched Ghost Dies.

Next I stamped, heat embossed three sentiments from the Halloween Corners Stamp Set and die cut them out with the Halloween Corners Coordinating Dies.

Then I cut out three Sweet Note Dies envelopes and cards with the Sweet Note Dies. Under the flaps I adhered the candy corn, spider webs and ghost. On the reverse side I adhered the stitched square and adhered the monsters on top. Then I opened the envelopes and adhered the sentiments inside.

If you love creating custom images with just some simple die cutting and gluing then you need to try the Build a Monster Dies. And I recommend the Sweet Note Dies to create mini cards as they can be used throughout the year for any occasion!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Using Positive & Negative Die Cuts

Hi Crafty Friends! Carly here and I’ve been having so much fun with all the PPP Halloween goodies, especially the Build A Monster set!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

The Build A Monster set is so versatile with all the different possible combinations of eyes, arms, horns…and more to make a monster! But there is also the versatility in using the positive and negative die cuts!

The positive cuts build a fun monster, especially when you add a little glossy and glitter! And the negative space makes a fabulous shaker window (if I do say so myself)!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you were inspired by these cards!

Back to School Box Card + Video

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am back with a new video today. I am continuing my box card series for the year and thank you for your feedback on creating a card for “Back to School!” August and September are kind of weird months with no major holidays, but I think this is a fun “holiday” for kids and teachers who are ready to get back to school.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started with creating my own school supplies by making a pencil and lined paper using the Get Well Mug Additions Dies and Graduation Mug Additions Dies. I created a pencil using the thermometer, pill and heart dies and a “yay!” paper from the prescription pad and sentiment dies. You can follow along in my video today if you need to see a step by step of how I glued them all together.

Next I stamped and colored in my cute little school children with alcohol markers from the Friends Forever Stamp Set and used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I also colored two blocks from the Baby Basics Stamp Set and used their Coordinating Die to cut them out as well.

Moving on to using the Layered Apples Stencils to create my background, I used Distress Oxides in Candied Apple and Scorched Timber for my apples (A) stencil and stems (C) stencil. Lastly, I used the leaves (B) stencil with Fake Plant Lunar Paste to create some texture and shine.

For my sentiment, I cut Sentiment Strips Dies in the medium sized rectangles and stamped “Thankful for You” from the Sentiment Strips: Fall Stamp Set. When the stenciled background was dry, I cut the Scallop Box Card Dies base from red cardstock and the scallop pieces from the Layered Apples background.

I assembled the box card together with my sentiment on the front of the box card, my school children on the middle “shelf” of the box, and attached the school supplies to the back arch piece of the box card.

I hope you like my take on back to school and let me know what you would like to see for next month!

Halloween Bat Shaker + Video

Hello friends. It’s Lisa Mears on the blog today. I’m sharing a fun bat shaker card featuring products from Pretty Pink Posh’s new Halloween release!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

My card features the Bat Shaker dies along with a vibrant stenciled background created with Distress Oxide inks and the Halloween Words stencil.

For the stenciled background, I added Distress Oxide inks to an A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card panel. I added the inks randomly on the card panel. The inks I used were: Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, and Wilted Violet. After inking the background, I placed the Halloween Words Stencil on top and used Black Soot ink for the words.

Next, I used the Ranger Distress Sprayer to spritz the background with water and I used a paper towel to pull up some of the ink which leaves a fun, textured effect to the background. I used a Scrapbook.com White Lustre brush to flick white ink onto the background.

For the bat, I used the Bat Shaker die set. To add some sparkle to the bat, I used the Scrapbook.com Rainbow Glitter paper. I also used the Spooktacular Mix for the clay confetti inside of the bat.

I used the Sentiment Strips: Halloween stamp set for the sentiment and used the coordinating dies to cut out the sentiment.

I die cut the largest Eyelet Rectangle die with glitter paper and layered it behind the stenciled background. I cut the stenciled cardstock down to fit inside of the rectangle.

Have a spooktacular day!

Hi friends, Debbie here! The New Halloween Release is here! It is Spooktacular! I’ll just tell you now, I love this Candy Bucket die set. Who am I kidding? I’m like a kid in a candy store, I can’t get enough because I love it all!

I started off with the background using the new Halloween Words StencilKnowing I wanted to use the Distress Texture Black Opaque Paste. I found it easiest to grab a panel of pink card stock. Lightly ink blend black on the edges with remaining ink on your brush. Then add Mica spray Picked Raspberry and let dry. I then did the Black Opaque paste with the Halloween Words Stencil on the panel using a grip mat.

Then die cut out the Candy Bucket with the window die from White card stock and White Foam. With the Candy bucket die cut a piece of acetate for the shaker window and one more white card stock for the back. Attach the layers, foam and acetate together then add the new Spooktacular Mix in the well and then attach the back. The lid has a lot of foam squares under it to make it flush. The handle is attached directly to the panel with liquid glue.

The ghost face is cut out of Black Glitter card stock. The candies are from the Ghost Holder die set. Using matching colored card stock and adding Star Dust Stickles to the candies.

Sentiment is from the Halloween Corners stamp setStamp and heat embossed with white embossing powder and die cut out with the Halloween Corners coordinating dies.

Easy Fun Fold Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! Rebecca here with the easiest fun fold birthday card that you will ever make! You start with the Fancy Card Dies. I used each flap die to cut a different color of cardstock, but you can use the same color if you prefer. Each of the die cuts will have a small scored flap where you can adhere it with some strong double sided tape to the back of an A2 piece of cardstock.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Once all the flaps are adhered it’s time to have fun decorating! For the first smallest flap, I used the Party Hats Dies to cut out three colorful hats. On the next flap I used the Birthday Candles Dies and on the largest flap I used the Stitched Stars Dies.

I even decorated the A2 piece of cardstock with the Party Balloons Dies. Next I stamped a sentiment with the Sentiment Strips: Birthday Stamp Set and cut that out with the Sentiment Strips Dies. I added some white gel pen details to the different cardstock elements and THAT IS IT!

I love the interactive fun fold of this card and how EASY it is to create with the Fancy Card Dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Holiday Mitten Shaker

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am back with a new post and video today. I have been really enjoying the Christmas in July inspiration this month and I wanted to share some non-traditional colors for the holiday with you, too! I’m going to be using a mix of different products but this technique can be easily adapted with a different color scheme, shaker die or theme!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started with doing some die cutting with the Pierced Snowflakes Die with some light teal cardstock. I then cut it down with the largest Stitched Torn Rectangle Die and the Mitten Shaker Die from the center. This will be the front of our shaker panel. I added some white paint splatter and set it aside to dry.

Using the Mitten Shaker Die, I cut out the mitten and snowflake out of sparkly white cardstock and the Merry Script Die out of green and purple cardstock for the sentiment of the card. When the splatter was dry, I added acetate to the back side of the light teal panel and a piece of purple cardstock to the card base to be the “back” of the shaker.

You can follow along in my video today to see how my shaker is put together, but I added foam adhesive around the back side of the light teal shaker panel to outline around the mitten shaker opening and the shaker bits on the purple cardstock, then sandwiched them inside by adhering the light teal shaker panel to the front of the card base. My shaker bits were made of Aqua Shimmer Confetti Mix, Purple Shimmer Confetti Mix, and Pastel Party Shaker Beads.

I adhered the white mitten die cuts to the front of the card to finish off the shaker opening. My sentiment was layered together so the purple “merry” creates a drop shadow look behind the green and adhered the sentiment to the card.

I hope you had some fun with me today and you’re inspired to get a head start on your holiday card making!

Pink Construction Vehicles + Video

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am back with a new video today. I’m not sure why the Barbie movie was on the brain, but I wanted to take a fun approach to the latest release with lots of PINK! Now, I know girls can play with yellow dump trucks – toys don’t have to be pink. But if Barbie had a construction company, you know they would be all kinds of pink!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started with cutting the Big Dump Truck Dies and Big Excavator Dies out of different shades of pink and holographic cardstock – the windows were blue and dirt pieces were shades of brown. You can follow along in today’s video if you want to see how I assembled them together.

Next I began stenciling with the Brick Background Stencil on a sheet of A2 white cardstock with Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides. I also stenciled the design on the smallest of the Fancy Card Dies. I stamped my sentiment from the Utility Vehicles stamp set with black ink on the A2 piece so it would be covered by the Fancy Card Die piece as this would be the front of my card.

I cut another piece of A2 white cardstock, adhered the small flap of the Fancy Card Die piece to the lower left corner, then adhered my stenciled and stamped piece on top to sandwich the flap in between the layers. I attached the Big Excavator to the “inside” of the card so that you could see it above the Fancy Card Die piece with 1mm foam adhesive. My Big Dump Truck is adhered to the Fancy Card Die piece with 2mm foam adhesive.

For my die cut sentiment, I cut the Large Hugs Shadow Die – the sentiment in white and the shadow in pink – and trimmed the “u” to make the word “Hi”. I started with trimming the white sentiment, adhered it to the pink shadow, and then trimmed the pink shadow to match. I adhered this to my card as well as some Strawberry Shimmer Confetti Mix around the card for some final shine!

I hope you had fun with this card and can picture Construction Barbie on the job with her personalized trucks!

2-for-1 Card Ideas

Hi Crafty Friends! Carly here and I have a question for you…do you feel like you get enough crafty time? Me neither! I’m assuming you answered no because no matter how much time I get to craft, I always want more and I bet you do too!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I’ve decided one way I can at least make more cards during my not-long-enough crafty time is to make more than one thing with the supplies I already have out. For example I needed a birthday card but the same supplies could also make a holiday card…so I made one!

The Build A Gift set is so versatile and a must-have (in my humble opinion)! Paired with Sentiment Strips: Birthday and a color scheme of pink, orange, black & white and it’s a bright birthday card!

Pair it with Sentiment Strips: Christmas and a color scheme of red, pink, green & white and it’s a Christmas card!

Plus once you have designed one card, changing the sentiment and colors takes practically no time at all!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Best Jungle Friends + Video

Hi, friends, it’s Lauren. I have been on a “I need to make cards for my nephews” kick – I love making floral cards, but I know they would appreciate something not so flowery as a birthday card. So we’re going to bring out a few of my favorite stamps from Pretty Pink Posh!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started with my background for the card by stamping the “you’re the best” sentiment from the Jungle Friends stamp set with green ink on a piece of kraft cardstock that measured 4-1/2 x 5-3/4”. I used the Pierced Hearts Plate Die to add some detail to the cardstock and used green inks to add a little color to the bottom of the panel. Finally, I cut the background with the largest Eyelet Rectangles Die.

Next I cut out two of the Stitched Leafy Borders Dies out of green cardstock and added some dimension with green ink on the leaves as well. I layered my kraft panel on top of a piece of green cardstock (4-1/8 x 5-3/8″), then adhered my leafy borders at a bit of an angle with liquid glue. I trimmed any excess off with scissors and then adhered this finished background to my A2 card base.

My images are stamped from the Jungle Friends and Jungle Additions stamp sets with a pale brown alcohol marker friendly ink. I colored them in with OLO markers and re-stamped the images with colorful inks to give the images a bolder outline. This is achieved by using a MISTI and not moving the stamps to re-stamp them after coloring. You can see how I do this in today’s video! I used the Jungle Friends and Jungle Additions coordinating dies to cut out the images after coloring.

I layered my images onto the card with liquid and foam adhesive and added a few shiny details with Lemon Shimmer Confetti. I hope you enjoyed this card today and I’d love to know which jungle critter is your favorite!
