January Product Release Blog Hop

Pretty Pink Posh

Today the new January release went live and I’m doing something different. Instead of waiting a week for the design team to share their inspiration, they’re sharing it today. I have another big event happening next week, so I thought it would be a good time to try this new blog hop date.

I am so very excited to be sharing these new products with you. This month, I have three super versatile die sets, along with new sequin mixes, mini star confetti and a brand new sequin color that you’ll love.

Pretty Pink Posh

I thought we’d change things up and have Nina-Marie share a card in today’s post. Her card has the new Storybook 3 die set, Share Kindness Mix and a sprinkling of the Mini Silver Stars

Pretty Pink Posh

Card details by Nina-Marie

To start off, pulled out my Tim Holtz distress inks to do a bit of watercoloring. I used a slightly damp sponge brush to dab the ink all over my background; the colors I used were Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers. Using just a slightly damp brush allowed me to achieve a “dry brush” type of effect, which I really loved.

Once my watercolored panel was dry, I die cut it using the new Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 3 die, as well as a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp. I then layered the pieces onto my white card base; the “frame” is attached with regular adhesive and the Storybook 3 rectangles are adhered down with foam tape.

Of course, this card then needed a sentiment; so I foiled a “friend” die cut from Winnie and Walter with silver Deco Foil by Thermo Web.

Finally, I finished the card off by sprinkling the Share Kindness sequins and the silver Mini Star confetti (also new this month for Pretty Pink Posh!) around the card.

 Pretty Pink Posh

Thank you all for your enthusiasm about the new products.  Even though I’ve been in business for two years, I still get so nervous sharing the new products. I truly hope you enjoy these items and I can’t wait to fill your orders and see your creations in blog and social media land.

New Designers + Matching Game

Hello and Happy New Year!

Today I wanted to announce two brand new Pretty Pink Posh designers to the team. Both of these gals have used my products on their creations for quite a long time and I’ve been fans of theirs for a long time. With two designers stepping down in roles, I knew exactly who I wanted to invite to the team. I was so thrilled that they both ecstatically accepted when I extended the invitation. Please join me in welcoming Heather and Liz to the Pretty Pink Posh team!

As I mentioned above, we have two designers stepping down from design team members BUT they’re still part of the Pretty Pink Posh family. Yoonsun and Nina-Marie  are so very talented and I just couldn’t part with their talent. I decided to create a new position and they’ll be contributing designers, which means you’ll still see their work on a semi- regular basis.

In honor of this special day, and the fact that I love hosting giveaways, I’m offering up a $100 Pretty Pink Posh gift certificate! How can you win? Guess which designer made which card below. These cards can be found on their blog, so it won’t be too terribly hard to match them up.

From those who guess correctly, I’ll put them into a drawing and one lucky person will get a $100 shopping spree to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop. Whether you want to catch up on previous releases, or want to get the new products that release this month, this will come in handy!

Comments must be left by January 9th to be qualified for the gift certificate. Winner will be announced next week.

I hope that you all have a great start to your new year and give the new and old designers a warm welcome! We’ll see you tomorrow for the new release!

Tutorial: Watercolor “Flowers” + Giveaway

Hello, Joni here!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. I am back with more inspiration using Pretty Pink Posh products. It is still cold here in California and I’m already wishing for spring. With that in mind, I created a project that you can design a watercolor flower card using Rainy Days Coordinating die set.

Pretty Pink Posh

To begin, I die-cut some of the clouds (flowers) and hearts (flower center) from the using Rainy Days Coordinating die set. I used the Matte Multi Medium to adhered the flower petals then watercolored them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush set.

Pretty Pink Posh

For the leaves for the flowers, I simply drew a leaves image on a watercolor paper then fussy cut each one and watercolored.

Pretty Pink Posh

Here’s the finished look after the die-cuts have been watercolored. I also added a 6mm Espresso sequin to the center of the flowers for a little dimension and contrast.

Pretty Pink Posh

Next, I assembled the flowers on the white cardstock then adhered with foam tape, the leaves were adhered with Matte Multi Medium.

Pretty Pink Posh

Then, I added a strip of an old white and black patterned paper at the bottom of the card and stamped the sentiment “sorry you’re under the weather” from Rainy Days stamp set to finish off the card.

Pretty Pink Posh

Here’s another look of the finished card.

Merry Reindeer + Giveaway Winners

Hello, friends!

We’re just a couple days away from Christmas and I wanted to share a card I made this year. I didn’t get to send Christmas cards this year, but thanks to a couple guest spots, I did create a couple cards that I’ll be giving to some family members. I was so bummed that I didn’t have time to create cards for crafty friends and my designers this year, but it’s also a blessing, because I was so busy with orders.

This year there were several amazing Christmas sets that came out and while I didn’t get to create with many of them, I’m happy for the time I did get to play with some! This adorable one called Reindeer Games by Mama Elephant was such a fun one.
december2a

On this card, I used the Decorative Tag 1 die set for my focal point and the Mama Elephant stamps went along with it perfectly. I added just a few sequins- one for the nose and three for the “snowballs”.

As promised, I have the winners from the Christmas Gift Guide giveaways. It made me so very happy to read that the guides were helpful and some of you purchased items from them! While they were a lot of work, reading how much you appreciated them made it so worth it. I just may have to do this again next year!

Without further ado, here are the winners. I have emailed the winners (using the email addresses given) so I can be sure to send the gift certificates to the right email addresses! winners3Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Rainbow Umbrellas

Hello Pretty Pink Posh fans……so excited to bring you a post here on the Pretty Pink Posh blog today!

I may also *wink* have a post over on the  Simon Says Stamp Blog as well!  You will have to go check it out too!

Pretty Pink Posh
I thought I would change gears from holiday creating to one for any occasion.  I’m not sure about you but I don’t know one person that doesn’t like bright colors of the rainbow.  Here I’ve used the Rainy Days stamps and coordinating dies for a card that would cheer anyone up!  I began by white heat embossing the raindrops from the set randomly over a panel of watercolor paper.  Then with the technique of emboss resist, I watercolored with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.  The embossing just resists the inks……love!  At the bottom, I’ve stamped my sentiment in Onyx Black Versafine ink.  See my tip below on how I added stitching to this panel!

Pretty Pink Posh

I had fun stamping my umbrellas in various bright pigment ink colors.  I choose these for their vibrancy and coverage.  After assembling, I began laying out my card and adhering.  As a last accent, I’ve added my favorite 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Pretty Pink Posh

Tip:  Ever want stitching on a panel you’ve trimmed down to size?  On my watercolor panel, I trimmed it down and then added stitching to the edges using the straight stitching die from Stitched Borders 2.  Use the straight “cutting” edge of the die as a guide to line it up on the edge of your paper and use Post It tape.  By doing this, it gives you perfectly straight “stitched” edges every time!

Pretty Pink Posh

Big thank you to Amy for sharing this great post today!

Don’t forget that tomorrow is the last day to save on ALL stamp sets and coordinating dies in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop. I’ll be closing the shop for the holidays, so be sure to get your items soon so they ship before the new year!

Pretty Pink Posh

Thanks for stopping by the blog. See you soon for the first part of the Christmas guide!

Tutorial: Handmade Ornament

Hello everyone, Joni here!

I am back for another tutorial using Pretty Pink Posh stamps and die sets. For this project I used the recent released Winter Friends stamp set, Winter Friends coordinating die set, and Decorative Tag 1 die set. This tag is really awesome to use to create your own ornament for your tree, along with the countless ideas for cards!

Pretty Pink Posh II Handmade Paper OrnamentTo begin I die-cut the tag die 6 times and removed scallop die-cut but left the middle part of the tag like the picture below, you just need 2. I also stamped the critters from Winter Friends stamp set on a watercolor paper and used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush, 60 set to color the images in.

Pretty Pink Posh II Handmade Paper Ornament

Next, I scored the middle of the tag and adhered the 3 together and another 3. This will help you insert the middle part for your tag ornament.

Pretty Pink Posh II Handmade Paper Ornament

Next, I adhered the critter on one side and adhered the twine below.

Pretty Pink Posh II Handmade Paper Ornament

Next, I adhered the other middle portion of the tag die with another critter to sandwich the twine in the middle.

Pretty Pink Posh II Handmade Paper Ornament

Next, I inserted the twine in the fold of the die-cut, once the twine was secured, I adhered the other half of the tag ornament to finish off the ornament tag.

Pretty Pink Posh II Handmade Paper Ornament

If you missed the newsletter over the weekend, we have a sale on all the stamp sets and coordinating die sets until December 16, 2015 in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop. Hurry, while supplies last!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Giveaway

12247979_10208321445464343_2054737832899182303_oHello everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here today sharing a video tutorial with you featuring the Winter Friends stamp set and many other fun Pretty Pink Posh products!

Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop_4

As you may know, today is the start of the Coffee Lovers Holiday blog hop, and Pretty Pink Posh is one of the sponsors of this fun event! We also have a giveaway here on the blog as well, so make sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post to find out how you can win some goodies!

Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop_1

In today’s card, we are going to be focusing on stretching your stamps; you may recognize the Christmas tree in my card to be made from the cute little mug that is from the Winter Friends stamp set! This design requires only a bit of simple masking to achieve the same look I’ve created, and to see how easy it really is, I hope you’ll watch the video below!

Watch the video above   I Watch the video on YouTube
To color the images, I used just a few shades of Copic markers, but you could use any color medium you prefer… I think this would be a fun design to color in a loose, watercolor style too, don’t you? If you are interested in the Copic colors I used however, they are:

  • YG0000, YG01, YG03, YG25 for the mugs
  • E37, E47 for the tree trunk

Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop_3For the rest of the card, I used many different sequins from our shop to create some “ornaments” and I framed the entire design using the largest of our Scallop Frame dies… isn’t that gold glitter just gorgeous???

Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop_2

Want to win this stamp set, coordinating dies and the Scallop Frames? Enter below!

a Rafflecopter giveaway
So I hope this card and video has inspired you to create some fun coffee (or other hot-mug beverage) themed cards and I’m so happy you’ve spent some time with me today… If you want to participate and link-up your creation, you have until December 18th to create and post a new coffee, tea, or cocoa related project to be eligible for one of the amazing prizes! Happy hopping!

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello there!

It feels like it’s been ages since I wrote a post. I’m so happy to report that all Black Friday orders have shipped and I truly am grateful that this year has been such a busy one. It’s been almost exactly two years since I first opened the shop and never in the wildest dreams did I think I would be where I am now. I’ll be reflecting back via a post very soon…

Today I wanted to share a card I made from the latest release. It shows the Scallop Frames and Stitched Photo Frames dies, along with the reindeer and snowballs from the Toboggan Together set by Lawn Fawn. I am so obsessed with this reindeer and I’m strongly considering making him the star of my Christmas cards this year.

december1a

I incorporated the adorable Santa hat and sentiment from the Winter Friends stamp set. The little hat looks so cute on this reindeer and I’m sure I’ll be able to find even more critters that’ll fit into this hat from my stash.

I mentioned in a previous post that I have been loving gold glittered cardstock. It is so sparkly in person and I love that it’s not messy! I’m going to need to invest in some silver as well- I’m sure it’ll be just as gorgeous and will work with some winter themed cards really well.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card. Have a fabulous weekend!

Tutorial: Watercolor Gift Card Holder + Giveaway

Hello Everyone, welcome back for another Pretty Pink Posh tutorial.

The holidays are coming up and some may be opting for gift cards instead of gift wrapping. This tutorial will help you use your different die-cuts that you might already have on hand to create a holder for gift cards. For this project I used the new released Holiday Pals stamp set, Holiday Pals coordinating dies, Rainy Days stamp set, Rainy Days coordinating dies, along with the 6mm Clear Droplets and 4mm Clear Droplets.

Pretty Pink Posh

To begin, I first watercolored the background for my card panel. Then I stamped the images from Holiday Pals and Rainy Days stamp sets on a watercolor paper and watercolored each image and used the coordinating die-cuts for each one. To watercolor each images I used the Zig Clean Real Brush 60 set, which really versatile. If you don’t want to color it directly on the watercolor paper you can put down the color on the acrylic block and use your wet paint brush to get the color from the block and start watercoloring this way.

Pretty Pink Posh

To begin my holder for the gift card, I cut a piece of cardstock bigger than the gift card and traced the lines using the gift card and used the lines as guide on where to put the die-cut.  Like the picture below, I left the top part of the cardstock and the die-cut hanging,  this will avoid cutting when you ran the plate through the machine.

Pretty Pink Posh

The cloud die cut from the Rainy Days coordinating dies is really pretty holding the Gift Card. You can try using different kinds of die-cuts to create your own designs for your Gift Card holder.

Pretty Pink Posh

This is just another look of the Gift Card adhered inside of the card.

Pretty Pink Posh

Finally, I adhered the pieces from Holiday Pals and Rainy Days using foam tape and finished it off with lots of 6mm & 4mm Clear Droplets using the Multi Medium Matte adhesive. It’s the best for little embellishments!

Pretty Pink Posh

Want to win the Rainy Days stamp set, coordinating dies and droplets? Paulina is giving one away in today’s post! It’s a great way to add to your collection, or it would make a fun Christmas present to a crafty friend!

I hope you guys enjoyed today’s tutorial! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
