Shimmer Powder Butterflies + Sale

Hi all, it’s Lindsay here on the blog today! I’m here to share a card using some of the new die cuts from the latest Pretty Pink Posh release. I’m using the Bold Butterflies Dies (which is 30% off this weekend!) and the Spring Frame Die as my main centerpieces along with a sentiment from the Spring Wreath Stamp Set.

To start, I created backgrounds using Nuvo Shimmer Powders on watercolor paper. For the yellow/orange butterfly I used Catherine Wheel and Solar Flare. For the purple butterfly I used Violet Brocade and Cherry Bomb, and for the blue butterfly I used Atlantis Burst and Blue Blitz. What’s so fun about these powders is that you get more than one color of powder in each bottle so you get a really organic mixing of colors when you add water to them.

After creating my backgrounds I let them fully dry overnight and then die cut the Bold Butterflies Dies out of the watercolor paper. I also cut the Spring Frame Die out of plain, white cardstock. I adhered the Spring Frame Die over my card base and arranged and adhered the Bold Butterflies Dies onto the card front. I felt that the colorful die cuts really stole the show so I just wanted to add in a small sentiment, which the “Spring Greetings” from the Spring Wreath Stamp Set was perfect for. I added the white heat embossed sentiment with a bit of foam tape and the card was complete!
