Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 7

Hello, everyone ! Marge here today. Christmas is coming around, and I hope you are enjoying cardmaking for Christmas & Holiday. Today, I’m sharing clean and simple window cards with you. To make these, I used some of the brand new November Release products at Pretty Pink Posh.
 

First, I die cut small stitched holly leaves and berries from watercolor paper using Festive Holly Dies, and watercolored them ​with Distress ink reinkers (Peeled Paint, Gathered Twigs, and Fired Brick). I found that coloring using reinkers give more bright and rich colors than blending with the same colored inks.

Then, I made an A2-sized top-folded card base, picked out a smaller frame die from Window Frames Dies set,  and make a semi-round window on the front panel of the cardbase. To make patterned background, I stamped two snowflakes images from Holiday Greetings Stamp Set on the front panel using Arctic dye ink cube. Next, I stamped sentiments and mini images from Holiday Greetings Stamp Set on the inside panel , so that the sentiments could be seen through the die cut window.

Next, I decorated the front panel using Winter Woodland Stamp Set and Woodland Critters Coorrdinating Dies, then I adhered holly leaves and berries on the top of the round frame using foam tapes. I also rounded a string on the top of the card, then finished it off with adding some sequins. To give it a clean look, I only wanted to use clear sequins for embellishment, so  Sparkling Clear Snowflakes Sequins Mix and 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins were used.

In the first card, I made a one layer copic colored scene.

In the second card, I gave some dimension by adding diecut images on the front panel using foam tapes. I also gave it some color accent by using red-white twine as shown below.

In the third card, I used brown  leaves, and I colored critters in gray tones to maintain overall neutral look.

So I could make three cards very quickly at one sitting. I really loved how the bright colored leaves and berries pop off the white background and I also loved shadowing of window frame on the sentiments that are shown through.
Tips:
1. Would be better if you use heavy-weight card stock (e.g. 110lb or more) to make these cards
2. For the one layer copic colored card, be sure to use heavy-weight copic friendly card stock .
3. Putting a 3mm sparkling sequin onto the sparkling snowflake sequin make the snowflake look really sparkling.

Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 6

Hello everyone! Lexa here today with a winter theme card, featuring some holiday stamp sets, Winter Woodland and Christmas Friends. Today I will play with watercolor for the background using Caran D’Ache Neocolor II.

Holiday stamp sets also can be used for everyday cards as well. I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink that works the best for watercoloring. My style of watercolor is always a little bit loose, I always use Distress Markers and damp brush for coloring. I mix blue and purple for the sky, blend the colors with lots of wate and left some white borders on the edges. I love to create a little scene, it just make me happy everytime I make up stories behind it.

After I finished with the background, I make a snow hill as the ground for the little boy and winter animals to stand. Aren’t they the cutest? It probably one of my most favorite stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh ever.

Here are some closer looks of my card. Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix is a perfect companion for this card, it creates snow drops from the sky as well as create dimensions. Somehow it makes the scene look so dreamy together with the pastel color sky.

Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 5

Hi, everyone! Rina here with a video tutorial on how I made these simple gift card holders only using dies! Since the holidays are fast approaching, I wanted to make this project super easy and super-fast!

For this project I used the Merry Christmas Script die, the Festive Holly dies, Stitched Notes dies (for the gift card opening), and Silver Mini Star Confetti.

First, I cut the Merry Christmas Script die.  The font on this die is one of my favorites!  I wanted to use silver foil paper to make this die stand out even more.  Since this is a very intricate die, I like to use wax paper in between the die and the paper I am die cutting.  This will make the die cut pop out easily!

I love the look of die cut inlay and thought the Festive Holly dies would be perfect to pair with the script die.  I cut the “Festive Holly” on different colors of paper (use scraps!) which I will use to inlay into my card base.

I cut out several 4¼ x 5½ card bases and placed the Festive Holly dies arranged around the “Merry Christmas” sentiment, I cut this sentiment out with scratch paper to use for the placement of the dies.

Once that is complete, I inlay the Festive Holly die cuts into my card base.  I used post it note to ensure the die cuts will stay in place, flip over the paper and tape the die cuts in place.  I just love how it comes together like puzzle pieces.  My design had excess hanging over the edge which I trimmed with scissors.

For added sparkle, I used the Silver Mini Star Confetti adhered with the Ranger Multi Matte Medium randomly toward the center of the card.

Tip: I recommend using a Jewel Picker to adhere small embellishments. It makes things so much easier!

For the inside, I placed the gift card opening dies from the “Stitched Note” die set and cut out the openings.  The die set comes with two sizes, you will see one is longer than the other, just use the one that fits your design the best.  To ensure the gift card does not fall, I added a card base to the back of the card.  Make sure you do not put adhesive near the opening, just at the bottom so the card can slip in and out easily.  Alternatively, you can take a card base (a tad bit smaller than 4¼ x 5½ so the card closes nicely) cut the gift card opening and adhere it to the inside of the card.

Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 4

Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I have some Stitched Christmas Tags to share with you all. I’ll be using the Sparkle Dot Patterns 1 stamp set to create my own shape that I can stitch. I’ll also be pulling in the Stitched Duo 1 Dies and Angel Friends stamp set to help create my tags as well.

To begin, I cut out 6 tags from the Stitched Duo 1 die set, 3 from white cardstock and 3 from watercolour cardstock. I then ink blended some Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink on the bottom of the three watercolour tags. Next, I used the line of dots stamp from the Sparkle Dot Patterns and stamped it in a Christmas Tree pattern. The line of dots has ten dots, so I masked off all but 1, stamped it down on the top of the tag in the centre with white ink on each tag. Then, I left two dots unmasked, and stamped them down with more white ink underneath the first dot and repeated the steps until all of the dots were stamped. I just stamping, adding one more dot at a time to create a triangle, for it to look like a Christmas Tree. Once I finished stamping all the layers of the tree, I clear heat embossed them all so the ink wouldn’t smudge while I was stitching.

Next, it was time to stitch. I poked through all the dots with a paper piercer so that I would have a guide for stitching. I’m using three shades of green thread, to have an ombre tree, to give a little extra to my tags. I did a simple back stitch through all lines of trees and also joined each line to make small triangles to give more interest to the stitching. I did three lines of each shade of green on each tag. Once all my stitching was done I adhered the normal white tag onto the back of each stitched tag to cover all the threads. Next, I used some Large Gold Star Sequins for the star on the top of the tree, then used some Berry Bright Sequins to adhere onto my tree, since I felt the colour scheme was fitting.

To finish up my tags, I used the Angel Friends stamp set and used the sentiment ‘Merry Christmas’ to stamp onto some black strips of cardstock. I white heat embossed them, trimmed them down and adhered them with foam tape onto the bottom of my tags. Then, I punched small holes at the top of my tags, threaded through some brown and white twine and my tags were complete.

I hope you were inspired to try to use the Sparkle Dot Patterns 1 stamp set to created stitched projects. I used the line stamp to create a Christmas Tree shape, but you could use the star or heart from the stamp set to create the same effect for a different theme of card or tag.

Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 3

Hi there! Marge here today. I’m so glad to share two cards featuring Angel Friends stamp set and Stacked Edges 1 Dies. Enjoying crafting for 3 years till now, I’ve never seen such unique and pretty stamps and dies like those I’m using today. I really had fun playing with them!

I used deep red and gold to express holiday color scheme. For this, you can use your own gold or glitter card stock, but I used gold glitter tapes to make a glitter card stock as shown in the picture.

To make zigzag patterned background, I used a chevron shape die included in Stacked Edges 1 Dies set. I first die cut a piece, and then cut again side by side, with some space between those two cuts to make negative diecut pieces in chevron shape.

You can control the width of negative diecuts simply by moving a die a little from side to side before cutting through on the paper. I made a little bit thicker negative cut with gold glitter one, and thinner cut with red one. Then I trimmed all the positive and negative cuts into 5.5 inch length to fit them into A2 sized card base.

I stamped cute Angel Friends stamp set on a copic friendly white cardstock using Memento black ink, then colored them with copic markers. You don’t have to choose specific colors for coloring these angels, just use any copic colors that you have in your stash.

I thought coloring is not a matter in these cards, you can also choose any types of coloring media that you like, including pencils, watercolors, other markers etc. I mostly used light colored copic markers here. For your interest, I used E21/E23/E25/E27, or E51/E53/E55/E57, or E11/E13/E15/E18 or YR7/YR4/Y17 in coloring hair of angels. Then, I cut them out using the Angel Friends Coordinating Dies.

For the first card, I adhered red and gold chevron cuts onto white cardbase, then foam mounted angels. To give more interest, I added some left-over pieces of Autumn Blossoms Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies, which I used in my other card featuring Autumn Blossoms Set. I chose sentiment “Merry and Bright” from Reindeer Friends Stamp Set. Final touch was adding Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix  here and there.

Then I made the second card in horizontal layout using the similar way as in the first, vertical one. But, this time, I used Metallic Gold Confetti Mix as embellishment.

Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 2

Hi Everyone! It’s Melody here on the blog today. I have a soft, elegant Christmas card to share with you created with the Joy Shaker Die and the Winter Woodland Stamp Set.

When I saw the holly branch in the Winter Woodland Stamp Set I just thought it was so beautiful. For me, it allows me to take a cute animal stamp set and give my card a more elegant feel. And the Joy Shaker Die is one of my favorite dies from the newest release.

To create the background I cut a piece of watercolor paper for the card front. I used the solid snow stamp and stamped snow several times in a white pigment ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. Then I used a blending tool to add Oxide Ink to the paper. I misted the paper with water and splattered on white paint with a paint brush.

I colored the stamped images from the Winter Woodland Stamp Set with Copic Markers and die cut with the Winter Woodland Coordinating Dies. I splattered a little white paint on the branches too. I cut the Joy Shaker Die twice, once from a glittered cardstock and again from a light weight chipboard, and then glued the two layers together. This gives the die cut a little more dimension. Behind the die cut I add a circle of vellum.

The stamped sentiment and evergreen branches are from the Holiday Greetings Stamp Set and I die cut the edge with the Stitched Borders 2 Dies. My card is finished off with a confetti pieces from the Marshmallow Confetti Mix.

Christmas Theme & Giveaway Week- Day 1

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here this morning with a tutorial for a couple of spinner cards that I put together – my first spinner cards ever! Such an incredibly fun interactive card design!

The way these work: the reindeer is double sided and identical on both sides, suspended with thread in the center of the two images stuck together. You wind them up by twisting them several times before closing the cards, then when you open the cards, the reindeer twirls and dances! Interactive, yet they still fit easily in an envelope to give or mail!

First off, I was looking at the two jumping reindeer from the new Reindeer Friends and thought they looked pretty close. Turns out they are perfect mirror images! So I stamped and die cut two of each with the coordinating Reindeer Friends Dies to put together my two cards.

I colored the reindeer up nice and simple using these Copic markers, then adhered them carefully together with sturdy tape, placing two strands of white thread through the center of the sandwich.

Next, I used Stitched Diamonds Dies to create my windows. I used a blue and green cardbase for my cards, and die cut a window from the front. Using the two largest dies I also cut a white frame shape to go around the outside window. I then carefully taped the centers of the diamonds that I die cut from my card fronts in the opposite centers of my cards, but inside the card. This functions for two purposes – it gives more interest to the cards when they are closed, and also makes it nice and clear where to NOT write when signing your card – in case you don’t want the writing in the card to show through the window!

Then, very carefully adhere the ends of the thread to the back of the white window frame, using tape to make certain it is secure. Trim the excess thread, and then (again using sturdy adhesive) adhere over the window on the front of the card. This suspends the reindeer over the window!

On the front of my card I stamped and heat embossed in white a sentiment the Holiday Greetings Stamp set.

As a finishing touch, adhere several Snowflake Sequins and 4mm Clear Droplets on the card front to embellish and add sparkle!

One Layer Christmas Scene + Video

Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I’ll be using the Winter Woodland, Christmas Friends and Winter Wonderland stamp sets to create a one layer panel card. You could do this with a one layer card too, but doing it with a panel just adds a little dimension and a little extra to the card.

To begin, I first stamped all my images out onto some Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper with black ink and then fussy cut all the images out using fine detail scissors. This probably was the longest part, but you can re-use these masks a few times, so it’s worth the time. Next, I cut down a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock to 4” wide by 5 ½” tall and began stamping.

The thing you want to remember when masking to create a cluster scene like this is to stamp your images in the fore front first. So, for me it was the bird on the left-hand side. So I stamped that image first, then adhered the mask over top. Next I stamped the larger fox overlapping the bird a little. Then, adhered the mask over top of the fox and then stamped the boy image to the right, overlapping a little once again. This makes sure you’re stamping the images in the front first, so they are whole and the mask prevents any of the behind image overlapping the front image. So in the end, all your images are stamped in between each other and not over lapping each other. I hope this makes sense. Once all my images were stamped and a mask had been adhered over top, I created a snow bank mask and adhered that over top of my images too.

I then used some Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch to ink blend the sky. This is why I needed masks for the top images also because they needed to be masked off because of the ink blending. Once they were all ink blended, the best part is now. I get to remove the masks. I removed all the masks off the images and the results are just so much fun! Once all the masks were removed, I used Copic Markers to colour in all my images.

For my sentiment, I used the Christmas Friends stamp set and used the Season’s Greetings sentiment, cut it in half and then stamped it next to each other instead so it would fit at the bottom of my panel better. For a last finishing touch, I added a strip of black and white diagonal striped patterned paper and adhered it to my card base. Then adhered my panel with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and were inspired to use the masking technique to create a full cluster of images for a fun scene.

To begin, I first swiped my Versamark ink pad on a white cardstock and apply the Sticky Embossing Powder and Heat Set it. The Sticky Embossing powder helps the regular glitter stick on the card.

 

So, after pouring the glitter on top of the sticky card stock, then I have to heat set it again from the bottom of the cardstock to make the regular glitter stick permanently on the cardstock. I try NOT to heat set on top of the cardstock after pouring the regular glitter on the sticky cardstock because it tends to blow the glitter away.

Then I used the Festive Holly Dies to cut the holly for the card. I also colored the top part of the holly with Copic Markers to give interest.

Here, I also cut some Vellum paper to give interest on the other holly. Here you can see the cute angels from Angel Friends stamps and dies. The Merry Christmas Script Die, I also die-cut 3 times to make it thick.

As for the background I simply distressed it with Distress ink in Cracked Pistachio. I then added some glue dot using the Quickie Glue pen and pour on some Pure Sheen Glitter from Nuvo.

I also added some of the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix to finish the card.

Wild Rose Thank You

Hi All! It’s Melody here today and I have a thank you card to share with you created with the pretty Wild Rose Stamp Set and the Wild Rose Coordinating Dies. I really like to have thank you cards ready to go so I have them when I need them!

I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Wild Rose Stamp Set in Delicata Silver Shimmer Ink and then embossed with a silver embossing powder.

I used Copic Markers to color the stamped images and die cut the flowers and leaves with the Wild Rose Coordinating Dies.

To die cut the sentiment I used the Thank You Script Die. I cut the sentiment two times from a gray cardstock and glued the two layers together. This adds depth to the die cut and helps the sentiment stand out more on the card front.

I used two patterned papers. On the strip of paper that go across the middle of the card I added a strip of silver foil to the top and bottom and then attached the strip to the card front with a double sided foam tape. I wanted to leave a little room to slide a few of the flowers and leaves under the center strip and the foam tape gave me the space I needed. I arranged and attached the flowers and the leaves and finished off the card with a few sequins from the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix.
