This PaperTrey damask set is so fun to use! (Take a look at my card from yesterday.) This card was based off of Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge. I was going to do a cute card, but I just couldn’t resist not playing with these stamps again. :) I have a feeling that you’ll be seeing a lot more of this set in the weeks to come….
I can’t believe that I was able to work on this sketch! Lately I have been swamped at work, so when I get home, all I want to do is sleep! I worked extra hours this week-hours that I would have spent crafting. I’m not complaining though- I’m glad that it’s so busy at work…plus, since I haven’t felt too creative, I probably would have just gotten frustrated with myself. Moving onto the card…I used my new PaperTrey papers and damask stamp set. (This is my first time getting to play with them!) I don’t think I will ever get tired of polka dots, scallops and rhinestones. I’m trying to remember what my old cards used to look like- all I’m coming up with is B-O-R-I-N-G! :) I LOVED this sketch, and couldn’t decide how I wanted to use it. I decided on flipping the sketch upside down- I think it’s fun how easily you can change up the feel of a card just by rotating or flipping! That’s the beauty of creativity!
Hope you enjoy! I can’t wait to see what the Fab Five and the COTW are going to be- there are so many great entries this week!
I just couldn’t resist not trying Kristina’s color challenge again. I wasn’t completely thrilled with my other card, so here’s my other take. I really like this card- I got to use my new PaperTrey stamps! Pair it with scallops and the buttons, and it’s just about perfect. I’ll be posting more pictures soon…I’m stamping with Ginny, so I’m hoping I’ll have lots more to share.
Wow, it’s been forever since I have participated in one of Kristina’s challenges. The past few have been really hard for me…I know they are supposed to stretch you, but I just couldn’t make them work. Plus, I wasn’t too motivated to really try since Kristina had taken the round up down due to her busy schedule. (It was my goal to get up there someday. Yes, it may sound sad, but in my mind that would just be an amazing honor. The next thing better than that would being published in a mag!)
When I saw the colors this morning, I got so excited! It’s a good thing I like these colors- I was getting frustrated with how my things were turning out. I made something before this “just a note” card, but it is NOT going up on the blog. In fact, I just wanted to throw it away after I saw the end result. Isn’t it funny how a card can look so great in your head, but when it comes to executing it, it can turn out so bad?!
Like my previous post, I’m using my new PaperTrey papers. I just can’t get enough of these polka dots. In fact, I just ordered some more! I have barely used any of mine, but I know I’m going to! On Saturday I’m planning a stamping day with Ginny- as usual, lots of talking, glitter, food and movies! I’m really excited because she is bringing her acrylic blocks! I’ll finally be able to use my new stamp set! :) Now I’m just hoping my creativity will start to come back before then!
It’s late, and I’m exhausted. Hopefully I’ll be able to get more cards up here soon!
Don’t you just love this color combo? I just got my first PaperTrey order in, and I couldn’t wait to play with all my new papers! I got the cardstock sampler, Bitty Dots paper sampler, buttons, my first clear stamp set, and some other goodies. I was most excited about the buttons and Bitty Dots papers. Aren’t these papers just too cute for words? I already know that I’m going to have to order another pack, and I’m planning on getting some more stamp sets. (Might be a good idea if I get some acrylic blocks first. I can’t even play with my new set yet!)
This card was based off of Lulu’s bonus sketch @ 2 Sketches 4 You. Be sure to check it out!
As much as I love technology, there is nothing that can replace a handmade card. Quite a few of my friends are going through hard times, so I thought I would make some “just because” cards. Even with Facebook, Email, Twitter, etc., there is something about receiving a handwritten note. I have gotten a couple books of postage stamps (before they raise the prices AGAIN!), and am going to make a conscience effort to send more notes this year.
You can probably tell by now, but I LOVE LOVE LOVEthese stamps! At first I didn’t care for the curly dove, but now I just can’t get enough! I think these stamps are my new stand-bys.
Before I forget, be sure to check out my Splitcoast gallery. It’s all the same cards as I post on my blog, but you can see them at a glance. I’ll get some more up soon- still trying to figure out the ins and outs of the site. Do any of you have galleries on SCS? If so, send me the link! I’d love to check out your work!
I know that I said I have been going through a “creative slump”, but I just couldn’t resist at least trying Laura’s sketch this week. (Can you say WOW?!) Of course, there was the mental debate about what stamps I should try to use….I have such a hard time making decisions! In the end, the adorable DeNami Design baby stamps won. I love the onesie, and the “Baby” circle is so fun. I love these colors together~ plus they are so different than the normal baby pastel colors.
Hope you enjoy! As usual, can’t wait to see what you ladies come up with this week!
Here is a Easter card that I made using the new DeNami Design chickies. This card is super easy to make, but it’s really cheerful and is sure to bring a smile to the receiver. I love cards like these!
Today I spent a little time in my crafting area- I think I’m going through a creative slump. I have been spending a lot of time stamping, so maybe it’s time a take a little break. I’ll still be browsing blogs and poking around my new SplitCoast Stampers account…maybe that will inspire me.
Have you gone through a creative slump recently? What do you do in your “free time”? My mom has been knitting a lot recently, and I’m thinking about taking it up again. I just went to a new yarn store in the area, and I didn’t realize how many different kinds of yarns there were! I tell ya, I have way too many interests.
Here is my take on Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge #56. This was such a fun sketch- I had a hard time narrowing down a theme! Lately I have been on a flower kick, so I decided to do more pansies. I used all DeNami Design stamps, and papers were from Bazzill. Seriously, I go through their papers like crazy…they have some of the best colors out there!
I just opened a SplitCoast account- still trying to figure it all out. In between Facebook, Twitter, blogging, email and now SplitCoast, I’m hoping to find time for all of them. They are all so different, but I LOVEthem all so much. Oh, and a couple of weeks ago I opened an Etsy account. I have nothing up for sale yet- I still need to figure out how to do that too! So many things to learn, so little time. Maybe I should learn one thing at a time….
Wow, I didn’t realize it had been so long since I have posted a project! I have been super busy with cards, but a lot of them I didn’t think were worthy of putting on the blog….I only want to give you all the best!
This is my take on Kazan’s sketch this week. I have to admit, I was extremely hesitant about giving it a try. I can’t really pinpoint why, but it definitely intimidated me. However, I am happy with the end result. This is my new favorite color combo- I have made lots of other cards with this color scheme! I tried to show the Platinum Planet ink in the middle, but it’s a little hard to tell from the picture. (That’s why the picture isn’t as bright as usual) I used the new DeNami Design filigree stamps, and also their Magenta glitter. I love the colored glitters- no coloring required!
I’m hoping to get a chance to work on the bonus sketch this week. It looks like lots of fun! Until then, feel free to browse the rest of my blog and thanks for all the comments! I LOVE hearing from you all. :)
