Time Spent With Friends + VIDEO

Have I mentioned how much I love the 10 Minute Craft Dash #17 colors? These colors make my swoon. My craft room has many aqua elements in it and if I end up finding some perfect coral pieces, I would add them in a heartbeat. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like many decor designers have perfected this perfect color. If you’ve found some items that you think would qualify as coral, I’d love to see pictures or links!

Today I have a card showcasing some of my favorite WPlus9 stamps and the colors for the challenge. How awesome is this sentiment? I’ve never used it before this card, but I know that I’ll definitely be pulling it out for more cards soon.

I filmed a video on my mad dash to create this card. Oh boy, this one was a close one- I almost didn’t think I was going to finish in time! Thank goodness for embellishments that already have adhesive on them!

If you haven’t already, I hope that you’ll join in the fun for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #17. There have been so many beautiful entries thus far- I hope you’ll add yours to the list!

Sequin Shaker

sequinseries

It’s always an exciting day when you get to spill news that you’ve been holding onto for a while. It’s even more exciting when the news has to do with sequins!

I’m the guest designer over on the Neat & Tangled blog today for the last part of the sequin series. For those who don’t follow that blog, each day this week they have showcased different ideas on how you can incorporate sequins onto a variety of projects. With all of those creative ideas, there was so much pressure to create something amazing. While my idea isn’t something super original, it IS something new and a technique I’ve never tried.

I present my take on a shaker card….with sequins, of course!

Pretty Pink Posh

I’m sure that many of my readers have created shaker cards before. For some reason, I’ve always been intimidated by the thought of them and never took the time to create one myself. Well, I can cross this off my list- it has now been accomplished!

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and video and give this technique a try. If you do, feel free to leave your blog link in a comment and I’ll take a peek at your post!

I Spy A Sequin Train?

I just love introducing my readers to new {to me} companies and today I get to do just that. I recently stumbled across the company Clearly Besotted Stamps and was in awe of the vast variety of stamps and dies they design. While I had wanted many of their sets, the Full Steam Ahead set and dies caught my eye first. How cute is that little train?!

Truth be told, I actually received this set before, or right around, the time I first got my first batch of sequins. With my excitement of the sequins taking over my craft life, I didn’t immediately pull out this set. Once I got a little more time and was sparked with some creativity, I decided I was going to try to use the train with my sequins and patterned paper.

prettypinkposh_train1a

I had one of those “I can’t believe I made this” moments when I finished this card. It was exactly how I envisioned and I have to rave about these little dies- they work SO well! I have many more ideas for this train, so don’t be surprised if you see it again in the near future. *wink*

prettypinkposh_train1b

I don’t often work with companies that are outside the United States, mostly due to me being so impatient and wanting the products NOW. With that being said, I was SO impressed with how quickly my order was shipped, the great customer service, the quality of items and the fact that they arrived pretty quickly! It’s a win all the way around!

This stamp set and die set are currently out of stock, but I believe they’re being restocked in the future. I’ll see about getting an ETA and I’ll update this post when I do. :)

*The stamps and dies are scheduled to be restocked on Monday, May 6th!

That’s a wrap for today’s post. I will see you tomorrow for some more sequins AND a video!

Bright & Bold Craft Dash

CD_16largeI’m back with another card for the current 10 Minute Craft Dash #16! I’ll confess, these colors have been my go-to colors at work for quite some time and I’m so glad I was able to bring them here! There’s something about these colors that are so striking and well, this combo just makes me happy!

In yesterday’s post, I brought out the Avery Elle Petals & Stems set and it was more subtle, almost country in its feel. Today I’m doing a 180 and going bright and bold!  I pulled out some of the other stamps in the set and went to work. Thanks to some paper strips and colored ink pads, this was finished with a little time to spare!

CD_16_2a

Time it took to create: 9 minutes 20 seconds

If I had an extra minute, I would have added polka dots on top of the strips….Yes,  sometimes even I run out of time!

CD_16_2b

I hope that you can join the DT and I for the current 10 Minute Craft Dash. There’s still 3 more days to get your submissions in for a chance to qualify for that Avery Elle gift certificate!

That’s going to wrap up today’s post. Hope y’all have a fabulous rest of your day!

Country Petals + Shop

I am so impressed with a few of my readers {don’t worry, I LOVE you all, I’m just amazed at a few}. Late Sunday night I posted the “shop” section on the blog and had slowly started to add some of the items I’m selling there. Since I’ve been under the weather, it’s been a slow process getting everything up– for some reason, feeling light-headed and nauseous comes at the most inopportune times! Anyhow, getting back on topic, I quietly posted the page and was so surprised that a few already noticed and started checking things out. Way to go super observant readers! I still have quite a bit more to post, but if you want to buy anything now, the page is up.

This week the 10 Minute Craft Dash #16 is being sponsored by Avery Elle. I am loving the latest AE addition to my stamp collection, Petals & Stems. This set is so much fun to use and I love how easy it was to quickly cut out these bold images! Since I had used this set in a bold way previously, I thought I would switch it up and go a more subtle, almost country feel this time around.

prettypinkposh_averyelle2a

In yesterday’s post, I LOVED that Cindy noticed I still managed to get sequins into the photo even though I didn’t add them to my card. She’s so observant! I wanted to share that there’s actually some reasons I’ve been adding them to my pictures, in case any of you were wondering.

  1. They’re inexpensive and are a great “filler” for pictures.
  2. They help my camera pick up on colors from the cards, hence making the pictures better. {Weird, right?}
  3. I will find any way possible to include sequins on/ in anything. I have an full-on obsession.

prettypinkposh_averyelle2b

This week was  scheduled full of different things I was supposed to go to {including my very first women’s conference}. I REALLY don’t want to miss any of these things, so the plan is to just go to work and rest up as much as possible. If you think of it, I’d love prayers as far as this sickness bug– it’s definitely not something I need and it’s throwing everything out of whack, including flaring up my back pain. Yucky stuff. I know quite a few of my readers are prayer warriors, so I’ll welcome any prayers! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope all of you are staying healthy and your week is off to a great start!

Guest Designer: Iron Craft

Fact: I truly dislike cooking, but I can’t seem to turn away from any cooking tv shows.

I am such a sucker for Top Chef, Master Chef, Chopped, along with many others. Another favorite: Iron Chef. The concept of this show is so neat- they highlight one particular ingredient and then the chefs compete to see who can use it the most creatively. While the show is over-the-top in regards to sound effects and the chairman’s facial expressions, I still love the premise of the show.

A little while back Chaitali contacted me asking if I would be interested in joining along in her Iron Craft challenge, which is similar to Iron Chef in its premise. Each week she has a special guest join her and each person uses the same stamp set/ colors/ sketch/ photo and creates something. Over the last few weeks she has had some of my favorite crafters join her- I am so very honored she asked me to be among them. {Though I also got nervous since I am nowhere in the same league as many of them! The pressure was so great!}

Here’s the inspiration photo and sketch we decided to base our cards off of…

prettypinkposh_strawberry1a

I could not make the sketch look right, so I decided to flip it and voila! Just switching the layout completely got me back on track and I was able to whip up this card. I have to confess something: stamping with these strawberries definitely brought out cravings– thankfully this one was a healthy one!

prettypinkposh_strawberry1b

I had so much fun creating for this challenge! With a busy schedule, I just haven’t been able to find time to create for a challenge other than my own, so this was a nice change of pace.  Be sure to stop by Chaitali’s blog and see what she created!

Spring Tulips

I know it’s technically Spring, but sadly the weather here in Washington hasn’t reflected the season change. We had a couple of days with sunshine a while back, but now it seems to be all rain and we even had some hail here over the weekend. I am so ready for more sunshine- this dreary weather is just not fun anymore. If I could transplant my family, friends and job to another state, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Since the sun hasn’t been shining lately, I thought I’d bring a little sunshine to the blog today. After all, we could all use a little more sunshine in our day, right?

prettypinkposh_tulips1a

The current Product Spotlight over on the DeNami blog is the Elegant Oval Frame. What does that mean? It’s 10% off until Wednesday! I LOVE this stamp so much, it was so hard for me to put it down so I could move onto other projects. If you didn’t get to see the post where the DT created items using it, click here.

prettypinkposh_tulips1b

I hope that you all get a little sunshine today. I’ll see you tomorrow for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #15 Highlights post. I went through all of the entries and left comments and boy, this one is definitely going to be a tough decision. So thankful I have helpers to help me make the final decision! Thank you to everyone who took the time to play along and share their talents!

Fancy Favors Blog Hop

prettypinkposh_favors1Who is ready for some yummy treats and lots of inspiration? Today is the Fancy Favors Blog Hop over on the DeNami blog and I have a feeling there are going to be lots of pretty favor ideas! If you started the hop from the beginning, you should be coming from Tammy’s blog.

It’s no secret that I tend to have a hard time deciding on which stamps to feature for blog hops. So many choices to choose from! I decided I would go with something more bold and immediately thought of going the boy route. After all of the pastel and girly items I’ve been creating, this was a welcome break.

prettypinkposh_favors2

Just about every kiddo likes cookies, so I thought they would be the perfect item to stick inside the pillow boxes. The DeNami outer space stamps are adorable and I was so happy I got to pull them out again! A little masking, some coloring and a few sequin additions and I was able to whip these up quickly.

prettypinkposh_favors3

Your next blog hop stop: Rochelle Washington’s blog! Be sure to leave a comment on each stop- you never know where the winning comments will be picked from. Oh, and did I mention there’s prizes? Two lucky people will win a $20 DeNami gift certificate for leaving a comment!

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you were inspired!

Sweet Baby Love

If you told me last year that I would actually ENJOY creating a pastel baby card, I would have laughed. I’ve never been good at creating baby cards, let alone pastel ones. You would think that pastels would be easier than bright, bold colors, but for me, that’s the exact opposite. While I’ve slowly warmed up to the light colors, I still struggle with these colors….

In an effort to continue to stretch and expand my crafting skills, I thought I’d try my hand at a baby card again. I wish you could have been in my craft studio when I started laying the pieces of this card down- I actually got excited seeing it all come together! Add in some sequins and I believe we have a winning baby card, blog friends.

prettypinkposh_denamibaby1a

Have I mentioned how much I love this chevron twill ribbon? I purchased a ton of it from Little Free Radical, one of my April blog sponsors. I got several yards of it in eight colors and I can’t stop using it! It’s so easy to tie bows in it and who doesn’t love a chevron patterns? *wink*

prettypinkposh_denamibaby1b

In closing, I know that many of my readers read via email or a blog reader {THANK YOU}… Would you do me a favor? In the past few weeks, I made some design changes on the site- you can now easily follow along on all of my social media sites AND  check out my fabulous sponsors on the sidebar. I’m so excited to work with each of the ladies behind the sites that are sponsoring Pretty Pink Posh this month and I think you’ll enjoy their sites, too!

Okay, that’s going to wrap up today’s post. Until next time…

Paper Sweeties Guest Designer

Last month, I had the privilege of playing with Paper Sweeties stamps for the first time {see cards here, here and here}, so I was honored when Debbie asked if I would be one of her guest designers this month. Have you seen how cute her stamps are?! It’s literally like playing with paper dolls- you get to change outfits, scenes, coordinating pieces- in a grown up form!

One of the more recent Paper Sweeties sets, Jelly Bean Time, was calling out my name, so I decided to feature that in today’s card. I love this sweet dress and hat and couldn’t wait to paper piece with it.

PaperSweeties_Paulina1

As many of my readers know, I have an obsession with sequins and will find any excuse to add some to a project. I wanted to use them in a different way and decided to adhere them to the card and add pearls on top of them. I love how it turned out! You could also use this idea with rhinestones…. it’s twice the amount of “bling” without being too much.

PaperSweeties_Paulina2

Have you checked out the adorable Paper Sweeties line of stamps yet? Debbie has released so many cute sets recently and she has new stamps releasing on April 15th! You can be sure I’ll be tuning in to see what cute new items she will be releasing!

Thanks for stopping in and joining me for this special post.
