Pass the Kleenex

As I write, I’m laying in bed with a miserable headache, runny nose, sore throat and cough. I don’t know how I got this sick, but what I do know is that I need this horrible thing to go away….QUICK! I had a terrible time trying to sleep last night- I was finally able to after taking Benadryl to make me drowsy. Needless to say, I’m not exactly in the best mood.

I made this card yesterday (while I was still feeling somewhat human). I have yet to decide whether I really like this card or not. It is pretty busy for me, but I though the yellow was fun to play with. I almost submitted this card to 2S4Y, but like I said in an earlier post, the other card got the most votes.

Sorry to cut this short, but me and my bed have a date. (Hopefully it will be good to me this time!) If you think of it, prayers would be most appreciated! :D

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #23

Can you believe it….I did not just one card using this sketch, but three! After showing them to the rest of the family, this one was deemed the best. (I’ll be posting the others in the next day or two.) I wouldn’t have called this my favorite, but everyone liked the colors and also the green daisies! That’s one thing I love about stamping- you can make green daisies, purple elephants and pink cars! :D

This week seemed to be extra long…maybe because the people around me were on spring break and yet I was still working. However, I did get off early both yesterday and today. It’s a good thing I did too, because I caught a cold! It came on really suddenly last night, and today I feel MISERABLE. I’m so incredibly bummed- I had plans for the weekend! I’m hoping that it’ll go away quickly so I can still enjoy my weekend.

Well, that’s it for right now. It’s off to bed I go!

Birthday Celebration

I feel like I’m in a creative slump…again. I’m starting to feel like all of my cards are looking the same, and I need to start branching out and becoming more adventurous. It seems like all of my cards have either rhinestones, scallops and some sort of stamp from my damask set. These are not bad things, but I guess I’m starting to get tired of my cards looking alike. It’s so hard to stray from my “comfort zone,” but I’m gonna try something soon. Hopefully it will be worth posting!

I originally made this card for my grandma’s birthday, which we celebrated yesterday. I was all ready to fill the card out when I realized I hadn’t scanned it yet. Not wanting to deal with the hassle of scanning but also wanting to get this on the blog, I decided to just give her another card. Lazy? Yes. Hey, it was Sunday, I think I should get some slack. ;-)

This week my sister is on spring break…..makes me wish I had a break from work! Today I’m feeling extremely blah- hopefully it goes away by tomorrow. With my office co-worker on maternity leave (she had her baby TODAY!), I think I’m gonna start to get really lonely at work. I’m hoping soon that it’ll get insanely busy that I won’t have time to get lonely. *crosses fingers*

Well, I’m off to blog hop and then I’m going to bed early.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 2

I cannot believe how G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S these colors look together! Dawn, you did a fabulous job choosing this weeks challenge– they were SO fun to work with! I’m definitely going to be playing with these colors again…..soon!

This card is pretty simple, and yet it still looks cute and stands out. I knew right away that I wanted to play with my new ink pad since it matched one of this weeks colors. I also knew I wanted to use some of my white pompoms- I just can’t get enough! It’s so funny, my friend Wendy also used pompoms are her card this week. Great minds think alike!. :)

I cannot tell you how happy I am to have been able to create this weekend. I was going through withdrawls- I’m not even kidding! I really think stamping is a stress reliever for me….well, most of the time. Sometimes I get irritated with how they turn out, but for the most part, it helps me relax.

Well, it’s time for bed. Gotta get up early for church! Tomorrow my sisters’ are getting baptized- SO exciting! :)

In the Blink of an Eye

Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday that my baby brother was born. In reality, it has been almost 9 years! I miss the times when he was itty bitty and I could hold him…easily! I miss the times when he couldn’t say things properly and he would say things his own way. Wow…I’m starting to sound old! I honestly cannot believe how fast times flies by. Now my brothers are fairly grown up, and they can do almost everything on their own. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE them being the age that they are now- they crack me up! However, I wish I had treasured the times when they were younger a little bit more.

As mentioned in an earlier post, I went to Tucson for a stamp show. I had such a great time with my “stamping family”. Seriously, these ladies are my honorary grandma’s! :) It was a two day show and I kept fairly busy. Unlike Washington, the weather was HOT! I knew it would be, but I wasn’t expecting THAT hot. It’s so strange that the snow just melted for us, and then in another state they are wearing flipflops and tanks! Even though I love wearing flipflops, I don’t think I could stand to live in hot Arizona. My body is not made for that kind of weather- though I don’t mind visiting every once in a while.

Again, my apologies for not posting sooner. I have been unusually busy these past few weeks…I think things will start to slow down though. I don’t mind being busy, but I also enjoy my time relaxing and stamping. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Oh, in closing, did you notice anything *wrong* with the card? The scallop circle stamp is off centered! I accidentally stamped it like that, but nobody said anything. Well, nobody… but my little brother! He’s like, “uh, the card is nice, but why is this stamp crooked?” I tell ya, my brothers are not your usual boys! :D

Just Because

Wow! It has been over two weeks since I last posted! I’m SOOO very sorry…I have been so busy! Last weekend I was in Tucson @ a rubber stamp show (more to be posted later), and then I had to play catch up at work. Needless to say, stamping has not happened with all the craziness. I was really happy that I got a chance to play with some of my new stamps last night. I’ll be posting cards showing off some of my latest creations soon.

This card is another 2 in 1. Again, I followed Kristina’s color challenge and the sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You. I was SO sad that I had to miss out on the fun last week. As you can see, I still have not gotten tired of my Damask stamp set. Hopefully you aren’t sick of seeing cards using these stamps- I’m certainly not tired of playing with them! These are not my *normal* color choices, but I think that’s the point of the color challenge.

I hope all is well with you all. Please leave some love and let me know how you all are doing! I miss hearing from you. I’m hoping that I can do some blog hopping soon- I ♥ leaving you all comments on your pretty cards! :)

Damask Love

If you have checked out my blog recently, you can see that I just can’t get enough of this set! It’s so gorgeous, and also elegant! Dawn did an amazing job designing these damask images. They are so stunning!
This card is a 2 in 1. I followed the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch, and I also incorporated Kristina’s color challenge! Rarely do I do this, and even more rarely do I like the outcome! I surprised myself with this card- I actually like the end result!
Looking at the card, you would have never guessed that I was rummaging through boxes of scraps to try to find grey cardstock. I came up with nothing! I ended up cutting some striped paper we had…it just so happened to have some grey in the design! I’ll have to show you a picture- I was so proud of myself for being resourceful! :) This is my very first time using pompoms on a card. I saw they were featured on the PaperTrey website, and I wanted to join in on the fun. I got some white pompoms, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to work with it soon…

I’m so glad I was able to finally have time to make a card. Hopefully I will have more time in the near future and post more!

Snow, Sun & Stamping

The weather has been CRAZY! First it was snowing, then it was sunny, and now it’s snowing again! I don’t understand this weird weather! I cannot wait until Spring- I love seeing flowers bloom, the sun beaming down in all its glory, and also wearing flipflops & sunglasses. I think those are some of my most favorite things ever! You know when it’s sunny and you see that car with the music blasting, the person wearing the big sunglasses with the window down dancing to the music? Yeah, that’s me! :) I know, I’m a dork….I always tell my friends at least I’m a stylish, cute one!
Okay, moving along….I surprised myself and created lots today! I think after my busy week, I need some “me” time. I don’t know who I am going to give any of these cards to, but at least I’ll have them handy for when I need them. What do YOU do with your cards? Do you have a giant stash, like me? Do you sell yours on Etsy? I still haven’t gotten around to opening a Paypal account yet. I know it doesn’t take that long, I have just been feeling a little lazy. I know once I do it, and sell something, I’ll wonder why I didn’t do it a long time ago. I guess I need motivation. Have you been selling a lot? I guess I’m wondering if people really buy on Etsy…..

I know this color combo is different for me, but I actually like it! At the beginning, this card was plain, but then I added the buttons and felt like the card was complete. This card was so fun to make….I actually made five others just like it! I was thinking about posting it on Etsy, and personalizing the initial for the buyer. Do you think that would sell? I need feedback….

Cupcake Challenge #58

This PaperTrey damask set is so fun to use! (Take a look at my card from yesterday.) This card was based off of Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge. I was going to do a cute card, but I just couldn’t resist not playing with these stamps again. :) I have a feeling that you’ll be seeing a lot more of this set in the weeks to come….

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #21

I can’t believe that I was able to work on this sketch! Lately I have been swamped at work, so when I get home, all I want to do is sleep! I worked extra hours this week-hours that I would have spent crafting. I’m not complaining though- I’m glad that it’s so busy at work…plus, since I haven’t felt too creative, I probably would have just gotten frustrated with myself. Moving onto the card…I used my new PaperTrey papers and damask stamp set. (This is my first time getting to play with them!) I don’t think I will ever get tired of polka dots, scallops and rhinestones. I’m trying to remember what my old cards used to look like- all I’m coming up with is B-O-R-I-N-G! :) I LOVED this sketch, and couldn’t decide how I wanted to use it. I decided on flipping the sketch upside down- I think it’s fun how easily you can change up the feel of a card just by rotating or flipping! That’s the beauty of creativity!

Hope you enjoy! I can’t wait to see what the Fab Five and the COTW are going to be- there are so many great entries this week!
