Fabulous Neon + GIVEAWAYS

If you have followed my blog or YouTube channel for a little while, you know that I recently picked up the Hero Arts neon ink cubes. I have been in neon heaven recently and loving every minute of it. There’s something about these little cubes that brings delight and happiness into my crafty days!

In keeping with the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash theme, I have a card that can easily be used as a birthday card {even though it doesn’t outright say it}. Now I do have to say, this card didn’t turn out exactly how I had envisioned, but as the timer was counting down, I just couldn’t make the changes I wanted to.

Time it took to create: 9 minutes 23 seconds

Curious what changes I would have made if I had the time?

  • Remove the green washi tape and either use green patterned paper or stamp a subtle background on the paper.
  • Add some paper pierced dots or stitching to the white focal point cardstock.
  • Add some rhinestones or sequins somewhere…. it’s lacking a little pizazz!

While it isn’t a horrible creation, per se, it’s definitely not my favorite card ever. Yes, you read that correctly, even the creator of the challenge sometimes fails at perfecting her cards within the time limit.

I am so very excited to announce that on top of the amazing challenge prize and blog hop prizes, I get to host some giveaways during the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash! My amazing long-time sponsor, re.Served, has graciously allowed me to give away some custom mugs in honor of this special occasion. There will be TWO winners, each receiving a custom hashtag mug saying #craftdashaddict. How amazingly cool is that? I think I need to get one of these for myself!

I hope you all have been able to keep up with all of the festivities so far. In closing, I just have to say a big thank you again for sharing in the excitement, participating in the blog hop and submitting entries for the challenge. Reading your comments has been the BEST!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another video and a cutesy boy birthday card- same time, same place! :)

  5. I believe your card is lovely (I’m a neon addict myself). I am intrigued about what you would have done differently. Maybe if you could do a blog post someday showing the changes you would have made without time constraints????

  10. Bright and colorful card and who can’t use another mug for morning beverages – be your caffeine of choice tea or coffee!!

  11. I’ve only just started playing with my new neon inks from
Hero Arts. I like them more every time I use them.

  12. I just picked up the neon cubes, too, and look forward to trying them out. I think your card turned out great!

  13. I am loving that neon!! What cardstock did you use, btw? I LOVE that shade of pink!

    1. Hi Marie! The pink cardstock is by Papertrey Ink. I ordered quite a bit years ago and I’m still using it! I love the thickness of it and of course, the pretty color!

  14. I think your card is pretty. I actually think that the green washi brightens the card up . It goes well with the leaves. I do agree that a few gems, sequins or enamel dots would finish it off. I am still hoping to post an entry. It will probably take me an hour to plan out a 10 minute card! :-)

  15. I like the green washi- I think that it balances all of the colors well. I do agree that a little bling can only improve almost any card :-) I still hope to take the 10 minute challenge-it’s just taking me several days to plan for my 10 minute card!!!
Thanks for all of the fun and inspiration.

  16. Interesting what you said about not your fave and yet it IS a very usable card. Great for summer and bright personalities

  19. Paulina this card is so pretty. I understand the changes you would want to make and out of the changes, the only thing I can say that I agree with is the bling for some pizazz. Other than that, this card is really cute. I like it a lot. Thanks for the chance to win too! I love prizes =)
    Have a great day hun!
