Cards

Fresh Birthday

I have sad news, the sickness bug has taken over me. It’s such a rough start to a weekend. I was truly hoping to avoid getting sick this season, but maybe it’s best so I won’t get it later? *crossing fingers* Gonna do my best to lay low and regain some strength. If you don’t hear from me, you’ll know why….

Today I’m bringing another one of my magaine “reject” cards. I have to say, I really truly love this card. The colors are so fresh and well, there’s a pretty flower on it! For the background, I used the AWESOME Three Line Border by DeNami Design. I have another card coming up that features this stamp, and I also did a video with it! :)

Well, I hope you all stay nice and healthy. I’ll talk to you (hopefully) soon!

Sweet & Simple

Hi there, sweeties!

I don’t know if school has officially started for those around you, but today it starts in this part of Washington. It wasn’t too long ago where I was dreading going back to school after the summer….sure, there was some fun times (back to school shopping), but I never really thought school was *fun*. Looking back, I wish I had studied more in certain areas, but well, that’s a thing of the past. ;)

Lately I have been loving Guiding Light from WPlus9. Today I wanted to play with the boat stamp from the set. Seriously, who knew a boat could be so awesome?

In closing, I wanted to let you all know that DeNami Design is having their first warehouse sale next Thursday (September 16). There’s going to be lots of markers, ribbons, papers AND for the first time, we’ll have some unmounted stamps in surprise bags! Lots of great deals, plus, you can come meet me.

Have a great Wednesay, dear friends! Thanks so much for stopping by (and also leaving some love)!

Halloween Party

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Today I am excited to be showing my very first batch of cupcake toppers, along with some other fun goodies. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I had creating these items! If you are anything like me, you enjoy cupcakes….a lot. There’s something about all the different flavors and the fact that they aren’t too terribly big.

These first few pictures showcase the cupcake toppers. Oh goodness gracious, I want to make hundreds of these things! How can you not help but smile when you see that adorable spider. (Can I even say that?!) Also, how cute is the Friendly Bat?

Don’t these Cookies ‘N Cream cupcakes look delicious? Boy, they were! Did you notice the glittery spiders? I saw them at Pier 1 and couldn’t help but pick them up. :)

Seriously, a green bat? Now if bats were really this color, I might not be terrified of them *wink* Did you notice the webs? That is from the awesome Halloween stamp set!

Here’s another peek at the cupcakes…

Here’s the invite for the special event. I had so much fun creating the patterned paper! Would you believe that it only took three stamps and a stamp set to create ALL of these items?

Here’s the picture of all the items together. Did you notice the little banner in the background? I created those using clothespins! They’re so handy for keeping items together, but they also help decorate for a party!

I hope you enjoyed looking through this post! I had so much fun creating it….I’ll be doing more things like this in the future! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today- I hope you were inspired!

Polka Dot Lighthouses

Happy Monday! I hope you all are having a blessed Labor Day weekend. It’s been very relaxing for me, which has been really nice. I spent time with my BFF, which was awesome. Got to watch a movie together and then got 90 minute massages. HEAVEN! I already want another one…..

With magazine submissions behind me, I can now share my rejects. (Boy, there are a lot of them!) Today’s card features stamps from Guiding Light by WPlus9. This set is perfect for masculine cards, but also for sympathy ones as well. I never would have guessed I would love stamping with a lighthouse so much! Dawn did a beautiful job designing this entire set.

This weekend has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. No, nothing bad happened…it’s just me being a girl. I love getting pedicures, massages and being pampered, but there are certain aspects of being a girl that are lame. (You know what I’m talking about.) Hopefully my emotions will stay in check today!

I so appreciate you spending some time with me today. You know I always love hearing from you…. Sending big hugs!

Christmas Wonder

Who is starting to think of Christmas? All of us on the Practicing Creativity design team! This month there are two brand new sets. The past few days, we’ve shown you Fall Fest and today we are showing you Christmas Wonder. (Isn’t that an appropriate name?!) I am so excited to let you in on a secret that we’ve known for quite some time….the amazing Karen Baker has designed her first set for PCD! She is not only a very talented cardmaker, she’s an awesome designer as well!

My card today features 5 of the new stamps in Christmas Wonder. Can you find them all? I went with traditional Christmas colors for this card- let me tell you, that was hard for me! I always like to go for non-traditional colors. ;) For this card, I used cork for the first time. Did you know that you can use a paper punch on it? I was pretty amazed….

Visit the following blogs for more peeks of the set, plus Courtney will be showing more of the new ribbons. All of these items will go live at midnight tonight- not too much longer to wait!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great Saturday!

I’m Falling For You

Happy Friday!

Does long weekends make anyone else happy? I have been looking forward to my extra day off for a few weeks now, it’s really quiet sad. I love that I have absolutely no plans- it’ll give me a chance to clear my head and maybe do a few fun things along the way. ;)

Speaking of fun things, I have another card to share featuring Fall Fest. I just love this leaf stamp- there are SOOO many possibilities with it! As you can see, it’s a super easy card, but I really love the way it turned out. How adorable is this sentiment? It would be perfect to include in some love notes! ;)

Today each of us PCD girls have a sketch to coordinate with our cards. One lucky person, who joins in on a sketch, will have a chance to be a guest designer for October! How fun is that?! Be sure to visit Courtney’s blog for all the details!

I appreciate you spending your time with me! I’d love to hear from you all- I’m starting to get a little lonely.

DeNami Color Challenge #4

It’s time for the new DeNami Design Color Challenge! This time around, the lovely Michele has chosen the colors. When I first heard the challenge, I thought it’d be a piece of cake. Let me tell you, I did struggle a little bit with this one. I’m so used to using lots of colors! ;)

I used a few of my favorite stamps to bring this card to life. I seriously cannot get enough of the Polka Dot Background– I could use it on every single card! Add the Three Line Border in there, and you have two of the most versatile stamps out there.

I hope that you’ll take the time to play along in this great challenge. We have posted it earlier than usual, so you have a few extra days! With the extra long weekend here, there’s not excuses not to join in on the fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog (again)! I’ll be back tomorrow with another new PCD card!

Pastel Fall Fest

Hi there, sweet blog friends!

Can you believe that it’s already September 2nd?! Today I’m excited to show you my first sample of Fall Fest, the new set from Practicing Creativity. I must preface that this set has so many amazing fall elements- it truly was a lot of fun creating with this set.

For this card, I went the pastel route. (Gotta go outside of the norm!) How much fun is this solid leaf strand? I could make so many cards with this one stamp- you’ll be seeing more of it later this week! *wink* I added some of the pennants from Look Up to add a bit of color. You know me, I always love mixing and matching sets!

I hope you’ll take the time and look at the other PCD DT blogs- they have some great cards to share today!

I’ll see you in two hours for my DeNami Design challenge card! It’s a fun one that ANYONE can play with! See you soon…..

Special Friend

Is there a special person that you know God brought into your life? There are many people like this for me. Recently though, it’s been my dear sweet friend, Sarah. She’s a DJ on our local radio station. Several years ago (approximately 7), I first started to hear her on the radio and loved her personality. She was younger, which is something that’s not always usual in the radio biz. I always thought it would be super cool to meet her, but never thought it’d really happen.

Fast forward 6 years, I started to follow her blog and Twitter (I’m not a stalked, REALLY!), and we eventually became friends on Facebook. In the “virtual world” it’s easy to feel like you know someone, but the person could be totally different in person. I had the opportunity to meet her at a concert in December and she was just as sweet as I thought she’d be.

Recently she spoke at a local church and I had the great pleasure of being there. The theme: Embrace Your Grace. I won’t go into details of the talk, but let me tell you, I knew God was speaking through Sarah. I got tears in my eyes, because I KNOW that God has poured out so much grace to me over the years. Hearing her stories and seeing a physical reminder of God’s grace was so powerful. (If she wasn’t such an awesome DJ, I’d say she be a public speaker.)

I skipped a bunch of details (didn’t want to bore you), but I wanted to share with you about my dear friend. She is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. Sarah, if you are reading this, I love you and I’m so thankful that you are in my life!

In closing, I’d encourage you to do a post about someone who has touched your life in a special way. It could be your husband, sister or friend…..I can’t wait to read about it!
