Feel Better

Hi sweet friends!

Thanks for your comments on my March Ramblings. You were able to see a small snapshot at how random I can be, along with some useless facts about me! I honestly think I could do those types of posts daily! However, I will spare you and only make them a monthly occurrence. :)

Recently my friend, Cindy, asked the question “What’s your style?” You know how there are certain people who have a distinct style? Such as my talented friends Sarah Martina, Ashley Cannon Newell and Kelly Marie. When I flip through a magazine, I can easily spot their cards. Cindy’s question got me thinking….what’s my style? I honestly don’t know how I would describe it. This past year I have evolved as a cardmaker and I can’t pinpoint the words to describe my cards anymore! If you had to describe my style in three words, what would they be?

Today’s card is very basic, which I think is nice for a “get well” or “sympathy” card. Amazingly enough, I could give this one to a guy and he wouldn’t laugh that it was too girly! (Have I mentioned how I have a hard time creating masculine cards?)

Have a great Monday! Can’t wait to hear how you describe my card style! ;)

Stamps: Turning A New Leaf, Polka Dot Basics, Everyday Button Bits
Paper: Cream, Brown Kraft, Terracota Tile, Dark Chocolate

  1. I think the bright color might cheer my right up/get me well! This is a great basic card – and very ‘you.’

  2. Well I love your “basic” card it is beautiful, the colors work so well together, and the button with the bit of ribbon is just the perfect touch!!

  3. Wonderful card Paulina! Gosh, I can barely describe my own style, so I’m going to have to have a think on words to describe yours! I know I love it though!!

  4. Very pretty! I love the colors you used on Kraft cardstock!

Your style, hmmm… I don’t even know what my style is, it changes everyday. Some days I am clean and simple, other days I like vintage layers… sorry I am no help. Ha!

  5. I love your style–I think I’d call it clean yet detailed (if that makes any sense?) You always have clean lines (never fussy or hard to look at) yet you include so much detail (from ribbon to buttons to perfect stamping). Perhaps we could start a new acronym–CYD!!

  6. While I haven’t a clue about “style”, yours or anyone else’s, I think this card is fabulous! So sophisticated and simple. I would definitely agree with the comment that said “clean yet detailed”. It’s such a simple design, but it holds your attention with all the extra little touches. Lovely work!

  7. I agree with the other comments. Clean and sophisticated detail add up to beautiful creations every time. :)

  8. Oh I think you certainly have a style. I could pick your cards out… seriously. But an official name for it I’m not sure…

I have a hard time nailing down my style and I kind of like it like that.

  9. Paulina, this is my favorite card I’ve seen in days. Just all-around gorgeous. Yummy. The touch of avocado with the terracotta and kraft is PERFECT!

  10. Gorgeous card Paulina, and yes, masculine or feminine it fits perfectly!!
I have thought the same as you about my style, I don’t really know how to describe mine either other than more CAS.

  11. It’s so funny that you named me, b/c I have always felt so indistinct. :) Lol! But thanks for your kind words! I can always point out your beauties in a line-up. Seriously…you have superb execution and a great eye for color & balance. Love your work!

Quick tip- if you want to add a knot w/ribbon to a masculine card, trimming the ends on a straight line, instead of at an angle, helps a keep it square and “manly.” Lol!:) Hugs!
