First Birthday

Hi there!
Last week, my “niece” had her West coast 1st birthday party. Since one of my sisters just got married last year, and the other is still single, I haven’t been graced with a real niece…..yet. However, my honorary niece is just about like family. I love her so much and honestly, when she returns home, I’ll be so sad.
I wanted to create a special card for her, so I got out just about all of my favorite things: pink, scallops, polka dots and cute embellishments. I mean, if I was having a birthday, these are things I would love seeing on a card I received. :)

I think there is something about the Elephant and birthdays that go together in my mind. {Remember this card I created last week?} I decided to incorporate the number one into the card. I’m so happy with how it turned out! You could EASILY use this Elephant with any number 1 through 9- just imagine all the possibilities!

Lemonade Friends

Good morning!
I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine started out pretty good and then my back and neck started to act up. Thank goodness I have a chiropractor/ massage therapy appointment tonight!
Since we have our 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #3 running right now {sponsored by Lawn Fawn}, I thought I would share another card I created with the colors we are featuring right now. I just love how happy these ones are!

I have to say that these little stamps are just adorable and I have so much fun playing with them! Curious as to where I got the yummy bright yellow ribbon? Wait for it…..Walmart! While I was picking up my perscriptions recently, I had some extra time and browsed the craft section. Imagine my delight when I saw this ribbon, along with a few other colors I *needed*. :)

Birthday Blog Hop

Hello and happy Friday! 
Today is a special day- it’s my mom’s birthday! She is such a special lady and I wanted to do something that would surprise her and show how much she is loved. My idea? To throw a surprise blog hop in her honor!

Did you happen to notice there are five sets of balloons? There are five of us kids, so I thought that would be a fun little way to incorporate that into the card. :)

Friendly Halloween

Good morning! 
I’m so bummed I wasn’t able to post Friday or Saturday- I had some things I wanted to share! Alas, the computer I edit photos on decided to act up and I couldn’t do anything. Thankfully, it has decided to cooperate (for now) and I was able to clear out some old files- hopefully we are good for a little while!
I was doing a little blog hopping over the weekend and saw the latest Retro Sketches #29 posted. I just couldn’t resist joining in on this one! Here’s the sketch and what I came up with: 
I saw a few of the samples highlighted Halloween stamps and I was inspired to do the same. This year, over at DeNami Design, we released the adorable Friendly Mummy and I just had to use him. I’m not a fan of scary or grotesque images, but the cute ones I absolutely LOVE!
 
This card is super simple, but I actually enjoy the clean and simplistic design. Sometimes less is more, right? I wanted to brighten up the card with a pop of color, so I added in the orange twine and orange button. Two easy additions that really make the card, in my opinion.

Thanks A Bunch + Instagram

Hi there!
Today I have a sweet and simple card to share that I made using the current 10 Minute Craft Dash #2 colors (and of course, it took less than 10 minutes). It’s amazing how much can be accomplished in such a short amount of time- just take a look at some of the entries we’ve received already!
Time it took to create: 7 minutes 3 seconds
Lately, I’ve had to rely on a lot of people to help me with various things, due to the accident. I’m still not fully over my anxiety over driving, so my family and friends have been chauffeuring me around to my various appointments. This little card design will come in handy when I give people thank you cards for all they have done.

Would you believe that I only used TWO stamps on this card? Both of these stamps are so versatile and perfect all year round. (complete supply list below)

Miss You Flowers

Hello! 
It feels like it’s been so long since I was able to craft. For some odd reason, it’s a little hard to do this when you’re in pain and laying down. Thankfully, I’ve been able to stand and sit for longer periods of time and was able to make it up to the craft studio. Yay! 
My friend, Danielle, recently started a new stamp company called Neat & Tangled. I’m so happy and excited for her! I had a hard time deciding which stamp set to purchase, but I finally decided on Fresh Blooms. Cute & whimsical all in one! 
 
You all know I enjoy stamping my own paper, but lately, between the injury and wanting to use up some of my patterned papers, I pulled out quite a bit on this card. Quick & easy card right here! 

It had been a while since I used some of my alphabet stamps….oh my, I forgot how much I love these! I created a fun project with these stamps- you’ll see it in a week or two. ;)

Last Day!

Hi there!

I decided to go with a different color scheme and pulled out some blues and yellow- definitely not my usual go-to colors! I thought it was unique and a fun little change from my usual pinks and greens.

Blog Team Up: Day 2

Hello! 
It’s Day #2 of the Blog Team Up I’m doing with my friend Ginny. I hope you enjoyed the girly theme we did yesterday- I had so much fun with that card! 
Today we decided to focus on colors- yummy colors to boot! Ginny found this color palette on Pinterest and we both created items inspired by these colors. 
Here is my take on these colors…
I was inspired by the garland holding back the curtains {in the picture} and created a garland at the top of my card. Since confetti is so trendy right now, I decided to incorporate that look into this card.  I really love how this looks- I need to do this again in the future!

So, tomorrow Ginny and I are starting our BRAND NEW challenge. I am so excited for this new venture! I have quite a few of my fabulous crafty friends helping kick start this challenge and boy, you are all in for lots of crafty goodness! Here’s a tiny sneak peek at the challenge…. any guesses as to what it might be?

Blog Team Up: Day 1

 
Hello and Happy Monday! 
I’m going to be honest with you, I’ve been looking forward to this post for the past week or so. It’s the first day of the Blog Team-Up I have with my real life friend, Ginny. We have some great posts planned, along with the launch of our very first challenge on Wednesday. Lots of fun this week! 
Today we are both featuring a “girly theme” on our posts and since we both have very unique styles, we hope you’ll enjoy seeing our different takes on this theme. 
 
My very first thought when I think of girly is pink. It’s my favorite color and you just can’t go wrong with having pink on your cards. I added some pearls, a doily, rosette, sparkly buttons and even used a scallop card base. Each of these things are girly by themselves, but bring them together and you have a cards that oozes girly. {Honestly, I might have a hard time parting with this card} 

Did you happen to notice the stitching on the tag? I couldn’t resist using my new Sew Easy items again! {Click here for the tutorial I created on these products}

DeNami Bright, Bold & Beautiful Blog Hop

Today is the August DeNami Blog Hop and this theme is super fun. Bright, Bold & Beautiful? I’m a huge fan of vibrant colors, and I know many of you are too.  If you started from the beginning, you should have come from Barbara Murphy’s blog. Made a little detour? That’s alright, you can find the complete list of participats on the DeNami blog.
 
For my card, I wanted to try to keep it fairly simple. With these bright colors, you don’t need a lot going on to make the card look complete. I went with a white card base *gasp* and then added the magenta cardstock for a burst of color. A few stamps. polka dots, glitter butterflies and a large bow and my card was finished. Snap, crackle, pop! Errr….more like stamp, color, glitter!
