No Scary Halloween, Just Cute!

Has September flown by for you? It sure has for me! I cannot believe today is the last Friday of the month! With that being said,  I thought it was time to break out some Halloween stamps and over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some cards and projects I’ve created.

Now I do need to give you some background…..I have grown up in a conservative home my whole life and I have never been trick or treating. Yes, EVER. We used to live in a neighborhood where kids would come by the hundreds, but then we moved to the country where no one comes out. Honestly, I never got the appeal of Halloween (probably because I think our world is scary enough and we don’t need to glorify scary things). However, I do love me some CUTE Halloween stamps and have no problem giving sweet treats and cards to family or friends!

In today’s card, I’ve paired some new and old, along with all sorts of different companies. I recently made a trip to Target and picked up a cute Halloween paper pack by American Crafts, which lead to all sorts of cards and projects. You’ll be seeing more of these papers in the next few weeks….

I know that not everyone celebrates Halloween, so I’ll try to incorporate a good mix of cards this next month. A thank you to my overseas readers for letting me know you don’t celebrate it and don’t want to see too much of it. It never occurred to me that it’s just a United States thing. Silly me!

Question: do you and/or your family celebrate Halloween? In an upcoming post, I’ll share what our family used to do on Halloween. *wink*

Thanks for spending some time with me today. Enjoy your Friday!

  1. This card is so cute!!! The mummy is a perfect stand in for a letter! I am sticking with cute halloween too even though I like skeletons etc. Just because it doesn’t scare my kids doesn’t make it child appropriate. And you must have some healthy teeth skipping out on all of that candy!

  2. What a fun and cute Halloween card, Paulina! We don’t celebrate Halloween here in Belgium, we do have some decoration for Halloween but there isn’t a lot of trick and treating. :)

  3. Very cute Paulina, I like the mummy as the letter A! I did go trick or treating as a child, never dressed as anything scary that I can remember. The scariest costume our son had was Edward Scissorhands!

  4. What a darling card! We love Halloween, but just the cute stuff, too. I love the colors and fun things associated with fall (yummy seasonal food, pumpkin patches, hayrides, apple picking). I’ve never been one for trick-or-treating, so I’m eager to hear what your family did to celebrate.

  5. I live in Canada where Halloween is very aggressively celebrated and it gets bigger every year. But I don’t celebrate for religious reasons. So I applause your intent to not go overboard with it! Thanks!

  6. Awe…this is the cutest Halloween card that I’ve seen yet. I adore the little details that you added to the candy corn. So sweet!

  7. Too cute! Actually Halloween is one of my favorite holidays (not the scary part though). We weren’t allowed to eat much candy, but on Halloween (once the parents checked out all the candy) we were able to have whatever we wanted…in moderation of course. My mom always made our costumes and my favorite memory was of my brother and I being Mario and Luigi.

  8. Such a cute Halloween card! I am not a fan of Halloween but this is adorable. Like you, I never went trick-or-treating as a child. We did not celebrate Halloween at all. The traditions of that holiday were not something to be celebrated in our family. Our tradition was to go out to dinner and a movie on Halloween night. It was a special treat because we rarely did either of those things.

  9. Such a cute card!! I love that mummy! Halloween is one of my very favorite holidays right up there with Christmas. I just LOVE everything about Halloween. The cute and the scary. The simple and the complicated. I grew up always going trick-or-treating as a child and I must say I had a blast. I am sorry that you did not get to experience that but to be honest, you are lucky you didn’t. I ended up getting cavities every year from all that sugary candy and junk that our bodies surely don’t need and mine for sure didn’t need it!! LOL Thanks for sharing such a cute card!
    Hugs,
