Tweety Birds

Hello, sweet blog friends!

It’s been a while since I thanked those who have left comments recently. I want you to know that I DO read them and I greatly treasure each and every one of them. Knowing you took the time to say a nice word is so encouraging to me. Lately I have been receiving quite a few more comments than normal- I am SO lovin’ it! Hoping it continues. *wink*

Today I have a card that I made several months ago. While trying to “clean” up some of my studio I stumbled across this card. I really love this color combination- I think I’ll need to play with it again! You probably noticed I used the Tweety Bird Border again. I seriously love this stamp to pieces!!

I am in the process of editing a video for a card that I’ll show in June. Yup, you really do have to wait that long. However, I’m planning on doing another video on a card from start to finish in the near future. Is there a specific card you’d like to see a video on? If so, be sure to leave a comment and if possible, leave the link of the card. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a fun graduation card- you won’t want to miss it!

Stamps Tweety Bird Border, Background Basics: Tin Types
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate, Bitty Dot Basics

Color Cue Challenge- #4

Hello and welcome!

It’s that time again…time for another one of Dawn’s Color Cue Challenges! There are only a few challenges where I can’t wait til a new one is released- Dawn’s being one of them. I always love reading her posts and she has such unique color challenges!

This particular challenge was definitely a tough one for me. You wouldn’t think blue would be….however, it was trying. I thought I would bring out Funky Foliage again since it had been a while since I had used it. For my long-time readers, you’ll remember that I used that stamp set A LOT. Newbies, you can find my previous Funky Foliage cards here, here, here, here, here and here.

This will is going to be crazy busy for me. Don’t worry though, I’ll be having lots of posts! I have two fun ones featuring DeNami Design and of course, I’ll be posting some others as well. Lots of fun things- be sure to check back regularly!

I hope you have a fantabulous Monday. Let’s start this week off with a spring in our step, shall we? Hope this post inspired you- thanks so much for stopping by!

Simple Sunday

Hello!

I hope your Sunday is going well. The weather has just turned overcast here in Washington- such a sad moment. I was hoping to finally get outside and enjoy the sunshine, but it looks like I’m a day too late. :(

Yesterday I worked at the Puyallup stamp show in the DeNami Design booth. I have attended this show since I was a little girl (literally). It is always such a joy to see familiar faces and catch up on their lives. In addition to connecting with friends, it’s always so fun to meet new ones! While I was working in the booth I met a fellow Washingtonian stamper, Rosemary. I love it when customers/ blog followers introduce themselves- it’s so nice to put a face to a name! If any of you attend one of the shows I work at, be sure to introduce yourself- it really is a highlight for me!

Today I have a fairly simple card to share. I tend to use lots of layers on my cards, so it’s nice to go basic sometimes. This card took just 15 minutes to create- a great one to mass produce! Now IRL I have never seen a daisy this color….that’s what is so fun about crafting! You can make things any color you’d like! :)

Well, I’m hoping to get a nap in sometime today. I have plans to film another video in the next day or so- I’ll be sure to keep you posted!

Have a fabulous rest of the day! Hope this post inspired you!

Stamps: Small Daisy Blossom, Small Dot Square Frame, Dot Border, Rosevine Flowers
Paper: White, Black, Aquamarine
Ink: Onyx Black
Other: Marvy scallop square punches, Quickie Glue Pen, Extra Fine Glitter, Copics, Hawaiian Shores grosgrain ribbon

Birdie Thanks

Hello, sweet blog friends!

The past few days have been amazingly gorgeous here in Washington. It’s been in the 70’s and the sunshine has been glorious. I have been lovin’ wearing my flipflops, capris and tanks recently…..so abnormal for May! Hoping this weather continues- I love it so much.

For today’s card I paired up my top four stamp companies: DeNami Design, WPlus9, Practicing Creativity and Papertrey. I was so pleased I was able to combine them all in this card! I made this card a few weeks back hoping to see this weather sometime soon. Isn’t that funny? I so wish that IRL birds had polka dots and were these fun colors. :)

Today I am helping at the Puyallup stamp show from 10-5. I hope to see lots of my Washingtonian blog friends there! You can find all the details here. I was able to look around today- I saw lots of Spellbinder dies and Copics that I want! I may “splurge” and buy a few that have been on my waiting list….we’ll see how long I can resist….

I have two reminders for you today…

2) Today is the last day to play along in the DeNami Color Challenge! There is a $30 DeNami gift certificate up for grabs….you won’t want to miss out!

Pleated Ribbon Tutorial

Wednesday greetings!

I hope your week has been going well. Nothing too new over here…..just keeping busy with life.

Today I’m excited to be bringing my second video tutorial. This one shows how I do my ribbon pleating. Lately I have been loving this look and judging from the emails & comments, you all have been too! I hope you’ll take a peek and also give this technique a try! One of my readers, Lindsay, let me know she tried out my fancy bow technique. LOVED hearing this! If you give either of my tutorials a try, be sure to let me know!

I so appreciate you taking the time to stop by my blog today! Hope this card & video inspired you to try some new things….. if you have any requests for future videos, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

Button Happy

Hi there!

Okay, you knew it was bound to happen….I just *had* to create a card focusing on buttons. If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I love these things. I have buttons in all sorts of colors- it’s a tad bit ridiculous. When I look at my buttons all lined up, I can’t help but smile. :) Does anyone adore buttons like I do?

This card features all DeNami Design goodness. I know I mentioned that I truly love their grosgrain ribbon, but I really have to say it again. Where else can you get FIFTY yards of quality grosgrain ribbon for $16 a spool?! I am addicted to the Chocolate Brown, but there are lots of other colors as well. You can find all of the grosgrain ribbons here.

I just received my 100th comment for the $50 gift certificate giveaway! It’s been so much fun reading all the comments on how you would spend the GC! There are still five days left to enter- be sure to let all your friends know!

Thanks for spending a bit of time with me today. Have a marvelous Tuesday!

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who read my blog! I hope that your day is filled with much happiness and wonderful blessings!

Today I want to dedicate this post to my mom. Since we all know I’m really into lists these days, I thought I’d list just a few of her wonderful characteristics.

Supportive of my crafty endeavors and all of our dreams.
Patient with all of her children (and husband). Did you know there are FIVE of us kids?
Resourceful in so many ways. I really need to apply this to my life.
-Amazingly talented. I’m am still in awe of her designs. Everytime she creates a new collection, it’s better than the one before! I wish I got some of her drawing skills…..
-A great listener. She’s there when I need someone to talk to, even if she’s thousands of miles away. I can always count on her to listen and also give wise advice.
Loving me no matter what. Goodness knows I have made a lot of mistakes and this hasn’t been easy to do over the years.

I could go on and on, but I think I’ll stop there. Mom, I love you so very much! Thank you for all that you do for me and the rest of the family!

I hope this post inspired you! Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderfully Whimsical

Yippee, it’s Friday! Today is the start of my weekend and I have lots planned. I’m thrilled that I get to sleep in, gets crafty projects done, go to a training session with my PT and then see Iron Man 2 with my dad! I don’t get to spend too much time with my dad, so I’m excited for this “dad- daughter date”.

Okay, moving onto the card….I brought out two new stamp sets for this one. I just received my newly released Design Basics: Background 1 from WPlus9 and had to play with it right away. This set is so versatile and super fun! A while back I bought the Wonderfully Whimsical but never got around to using it. I thought these two sets would go together well, wonderfully. I wasn’t planning on using Christmas-type colors, but it ended up that way. Just goes to show you that I really don’t plan my cards- I totally go with my creative flow.

Thanks to those who left a comment on my Fancy Bow Tutorial post. I can’t wait to see your cards featuring this technique! When you create one, be sure to let me know so I can check it out! Also, if you have any requests for future tutorials, be sure to pass them along.

If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for my $50 gift certificate giveaway!

Thanks for stopping by- I hope I inspired you. Have a super fabulous day!

DeNami Color Challenge #2

**This is my second post today. Be sure to scroll down for my Practicing Creativity card!**

Yay! It’s time for another DeNami Design challenge! I just love when the 5th and 20th comes around….it’s always guaranteed to be full of inspiration from my fellow DeNami DT members!

For this challenge, Beka chose some FABULOUS colors. Who could resist White, Black, Magenta, Lime and Aquamarine? It’s so fresh and yummy! I decided to stick with a fairly simple card design- I really wanted the trees to shine. Can I just say that I LOVE these trees? You can color, glitter, emboss or leave them plain and they always look amazing. I recently made a card featuring these trees but used a warm Fall color scheme. Talk about versatile stamps!

I hope you’ll play along with this challenge- it’s definitely a fun one. This week there is a prize for the winner- a $30 DeNami gift certificate and of course, the Fabulous 3 Spotlight badge. :) Can’t wait to see what you create!

Just in case you missed the news yesterday, I have reached 200 followers on my blog! To celebrate this special achievement I’m hosting a $50 gift certificate giveaway!
