Embellish Labels Color Challenge

Hi there!

Well, it’s Friday….you know what that means? The new Embellish Color Challenge is up! I seriously love these challenges! The only thing better than these challenges would be to be featured or win! :) Hopefully one of these days….

The Embellish Labels Color Challenge required the use of some sort of label die. I decided to ink up my PTI Round & Round anniversary set for this one. Can you believe I have only played with it once before this?! I’m still deciding if I truly like it or not. What are your thoughts? Are you interested in purchasing a brand new one? I have an extra if anyone is interested. (Feel free to email me- click on the pink envelope on the sidebar.)

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’m planning on going with my little sis to get her senior pictures done. So crazy that she is graduating! Hoping that the photographer will take a few pics of me and my new sassy haircut. :)

Be sure to stop by my blog tomorrow. I’ll have a project for the DeNami Product Challenge AND I’ll be featuring a card using the new Practicing Creativity set. In addition to these, I’ll also have a video tutorial! Lots of fun things!!

Thanks so much for spending some time with me! Have a fabulous Friday!
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Round & Round (PTI)
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Berry Sorbet (PTI)

Barefoot Summer Day #2

Hello blog friends!

It’s Day #2 of the Barefoot Summer sneak peeks! As promised, today I’m bringing you a bright Summer card. I created my own patterned paper using the three flipflops from this set. Aren’t they cute?! Even though I’m from Washington, I LOVE wearing flipflops. Confession: I own way too many considering I only have two feet. :)

Speaking of flipflops….I’m so excited that I actually get to wear some soon! In exactly two weeks I will be in sunny (and hot!) Florida. I get to meet FOUR blog friends- I cannot wait! If you’re in that area, I’ll be working in the DeNami Design booth for the StampFest convention. All the info can be found here.

I hope you enjoyed this cheery card. Be sure to stop by Dana’s blog today- she has a great picture tutorial featuring flipflops. Also, don’t forget to visit Courtney’s blog! You could win this new set!

Thanks for stopping by, dear friends! Hope you were inspired!

This month Courtney has designed a super fun set- perfect for the upcoming Summer months! This set has so many great designs….however, today we are focusing on the whimsical tree image.

When I first saw the tree, I knew right away that I wanted to use my Copics. I know that I didn’t use them to their fullest potential- still don’t know the “proper” way to use them. :) After coloring the tree and adding LOTS of paper scallops, I decided that the tree needed some bling. Really loving the orange rhinestones these days. They are so fun and the color is so perfect for Summer cards!

Be sure to stop by the other Practicing Creativity design team blogs for other GREAT uses of this image!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card featuring Barefoot Summer. You may want to bring your sunglasses- it’s a bright one. :)

Airplane Chickie

Hello!

Today I’m excited to be bringing you my very first start-to-finish card video. It was a tad bit hard to choose which card to create- especially since the max time on YouTube can be 10 minutes. I actually created two other videos but they both ran too long. :( Thank goodness this cheery, fun card made the cut!

This card is such a happy one. I can see it being used for adults and children alike! How can you not smile when looking at this furry guy?! DeNami Design has a LARGE array of chickies- you can view them all here.

I hope you enjoyed this card and video! Let me know if there are any other cards you’d like to see from start-to-finish! Have a great Sunday! I’m off to church and then it’s time for the all church potluck! :)
Paper: White, Red, Lime, Hawaiian Shores

Other: Marvy 2½” scallop circle punch, Marvy 3″ scallop circle punch, Tombow markers

Overwhelmed

Hello and welcome!

If you read my blog title today, you can get a tiny glimpse as to how I’m feeling right now. I am making huge progress, but there is still so much more to be done. Last night, for the first time in quite a while, I created a card just for fun. I needed a break of “must do” cards and had fun with this one. I went to one of my favorite color combos- kraft, dark chocolate, aqua mist and ripe avocado. Super yummy!

Did you noticed the new Spellbinder die I used on the card? That’s one of the FOUR that I got two weeks ago. Yup, I couldn’t resist and splurged on some that I had been eyeing for quite some time. You’ll be seeing them in cards coming up. :)

Do you have any fun plans for Memorial Day weekend? Today we are going to brunch with the family- yay for breakfast foods! Not a whole lot of other things going on….just lots more card creating. Amazingly enough, even after the massive amount of cards I’ve been creating, it’s still enjoyable. Probably helps that I’ve been watching some tv series while creating. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Hope you were inspired!

Pastel Umbrella

Hello, sweet friends!

Things have been crazy busy for me lately. In between work, going to the gym and spending time with family, I’ve been creating cards non-stop for the DeNami CHA display. Things are progressing, but there is still so much more to be done. I’ve been seeing CHA SuperShow countdowns on blogs- I’m happy that people are so excited about it! However, it also scares me since the days are going by super quickly. Really hoping that I can still create cards and update the blog….these days, any “free time” that I have has been spent in the studio.

Today I have a pretty pastel card to share. You all know that I love umbrellas, right? This past season I successfully convinced Nami to create a few umbrellas. LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out. The Large Open Umbrella is perfect for paper piecing and also coloring. To create my own patterned paper, I used the Small Solid Button and Small Solid Umbrella. Two great stamps- a must for any stamp collection.

Thanks to all who left sweet comments on my May Ramblings post. I must admit, I had been quite discouraged that my readership has fallen by a lot. I so appreciate those who have continued to visit and have also left comments. :)

I hope you have a great Thursday! Thanks for stopping by my blog- hope you were inspired!

Chickie Girls

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Can you believe it’s already Monday? This weekend was packed full of activities- most of them fun. On Saturday I went to a grad party and then a small get together with friends. I ended up staying out until almost 1 AM- a super rare occasion for me. It was so fun to take a break from cardmaking and spend time with some special friends. Did you all have a good weekend?

Today I have a sweet and fun card to share. This card features some of the popular chickie stamps by DeNami Design. At the moment I have about 12 brand new cards featuring chickies in my stamp studio. Whenever I look at them I can’t help but smile. :) Inside scoop: there are lots more chickies coming in the new Fall/ Winter 2010 collection. We just finalized everything- I can’t wait to share some of the sneak peeks!

In closing, I just want to mention that I have an interview on the DeNami Design blog! Lots of fun questions were asked….I’d love for you to stop check it out. :)

I hope you have a great Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog- hope you were inspired!

Vibrant Graduation

Hello!

Today I am sharing the card that I made for my dear friend. I have known Kalyn ever since I was born- a whopping 22 years and counting. Our families have been through a lot together over the years. This girlie is truly like a sister to me- I can tell her anything. Even though I tried many times to convince her to stay in Washington, she went off to college. Four years later, she has graduated and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

With my friend graduating, I sometimes wonder if I should have gone to college. Granted, I have always thought that going just to go was a waste of time and money. It works for some people, just not for me. However I do ponder if my life would be different had I gone to college. Would I have found other interests or a different career path? Would I have met my “prince charming”? After daydreaming, I realize that I truly do love my life. I have a job that I really do love (and I’m the boss!). I also love the fact that I have time to pursue my crafting AND it’s part of my job. Sometimes it’s stressful (like now), but usually it’s every crafters dream. Do you ever have those “what-if” questions? If so, what are they?

I hope that this card inspired you! It was so much fun to create this card- definitely a design I’ll be going back to again!

Have a fabulous Saturday!!

Embellish Butterflies Color Challenge

Hello, sweet friends!

I’m so excited to share the card I have for you today. This card was based off of the latest Embellish Color Challenge. Oh my goodness, I am so in love with this color combination! It’s so striking and sophisticated! For this challenge we needed to use kraft, light green, black and butterflies. When I saw that butterflies were needed on this card, I immediately thought of my butterfly die. If you know me, then you know I don’t really like plain things. I just had to dress up the butterfly with some polka dots and rhinestones. ;)

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’m planning on getting lots more stamping done (it’s a never ending process) over the weekend. I’m also planning on going to a grad party- need to still make a graduation card for the event. Hoping the idea in my mind translates to paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope this card inspired you!
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Background Basics: Text Style, Fancy Flourishes, Everyday Button Bits
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Black, Spring Moss
Ink: Onyx Black, Versamark, Spring Moss, Tea Dye Duo

DeNami Sketch Challenge #2

Hi there!

Well, it’s the 20th- time for another challenge over at the DeNami Design blog! This time around Wendy designed the sketch challenge. I just love this sketch! It’s so versatile and the possibilities are endless.
You may remember this color combination….I used it here and here. These colors make me so happy! When it’s Valentine’s Day I just love looking at all the pretty colored decorations, candy and cards- all of the colors I love! I know that we normally associate Valentine’s Day with the colors, but it doesn’t have to only be used then! It may be difficult to “step outside the box”, but the results can be so worth it. Give it a try- you just may be surprised!
I hope you all hop on over to the DeNami Design blog and take a peek at all the great samples. This week it isn’t required to use DeNami stamps, so there isn’t any excuse not to play along!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Hope you were inspired!
