I’ve been loving these gold star sequins a lot lately and I thought pairing them with some trendy feather dies would be perfect. If you follow me on any of my social media sites, you know that I am in love with gold right now. I have it on my nails, in various forms of jewelry and in quite a few decor pieces as well. Well, my love for it has definitely transferred into my cardmaking- I even broke out some gold embossing powder for this card. Now that’s love!
My sweet sentiment and the holly/ berries stamps are from Clearly Besotted Stamps. Remember when I participated in their birthday blog hop? I used the exact same holly/ berries on the Christmas train!
That’s going to wrap up this post. I hope you’ll join me TOMORROW for the last 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge. We’re teaming up with a popular challenge and we would love for you to play along!
I love this time of year….the delicious holiday drinks at Starbucks, big chunky scarves and boots, warm and cozy fires, time with family and friends…. what I don’t like is the sickness that tends to come with it all. With my extremely low immune system (it got noticeably worse after the accident) and then still battling health issues, this month hasn’t been all that great in terms of shopping and such. Thank goodness for online shopping and understanding family and friends. I have several packages en route and I’m looking forward to the gift wrapping process! I won’t be able to share much here on the blog, since many friends and family read my posts, but I’ll share what I can!
Today I have yet another card using the adorable Winter Sparrows set and matching dies. Have I mentioned how much I love these stamps? Just to forewarn you, I have a couple more cards to share with them and if you haven’t gotten them yet, I’d suggest adding them to your cart soon.
I’ve been doing a lot of whimsical colors late, so I went a little more traditional for this card. There’s something about the color red that is so striking and festive- whether it be for Christmas or Valentine’s Day- it’s really hard to resist it.
I pulled out my favorite chevron twill ribbon for this card and I love how it looks with the birds. Have you tried this ribbon out yet? If not, it’s a must-have!
I wanted to share some exciting things that are happening behind-the-scenes here. Being stuck in bed allows one to do a lot of thinking and I’ll be bringing a few new items to the shop very soon. I’m staying true to keeping things as embellishments and very PPP in style. Any guesses on what they might be? Also, if you have requests on some items you would like to see in the shop, I would love to hear those too!
That’s going to wrap up today’s post. If you’ve purchased from the Pretty Pink Posh shop recently, ALL orders have shipped as of today. If you have wanted to do a little shopping, here’s a 10% off savings coupon.
Thank you so much for stopping in. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Today is the DeNami blog hop and the theme for this month is RAZZLE DAZZLE. Seeing as I’m a girly girl, I truly love this theme and I couldn’t wait to create something for it. The question: what kind of dazzle would I add?
As many of you know, I recently opened the Pretty Pink Posh Shop and my love of sequins has been taken to new heights. With the abundance of them around, I just couldn’t resist adding lots of them on today’s card. I went the route of a bright and whimsical theme and I must say, it’ll be hard to part with this one. The colors= swoon worthy!
Since I’m the first stop on the hop, I will wrap this up. The next stop: Dana Seymour’s blog! Dana never ceases to amaze me with her gorgeous cards and I cannot wait to see what she created for today!
Thanks so much for stopping in- enjoy the rest of the hop!
There’s something about getting to fulfill one of your childhood dreams that is exciting. It’s even more exciting when you get to play with pretty products in the process. It’s been so amazing getting to see my little shop open and have some orders come in. Thank you to those who have ordered already! It’s honestly so fun to get an email saying I have an order and getting to see the items that were ordered and sending it off. For those who have shared about my shop or recommended it to friends, I’m sending BIG virtual hugs your way.
Today I have a new Christmas card to share and it features quite a few products from the shop. In the past I’ve shown cards featuring die cuts and sequins (see HERE and HERE) and I wanted to bring you a new one for Christmas. This one is a little unique because it actually isn’t a special die- it’s just a circle! I stamped the Large Ornament from DeNami and then used one of my Spellbinder dies to cut out the middle. Super easy!
Want to learn how I do this technique? CLICK HERE for a video I did showcasing a simpler version of this technique! The card design is more basic, but I still do the same technique as shown in today’s card.
Now I know many of you are waiting to see if you were one of the winners from the grand opening blog hop. If you’re one of the two ladies listed below, congratulations! Please contact me with your mailing information and I’ll get your prize pack out right away!
Winner from Amy Tsuruta’s blog- Jenn Shurkus
“I LOVE that lil tree in a jar ;) and I remember that fancy pants line from a few years ago ;) pretty sure i have some in my stash hahha”
Winner from Stacey Schafer’s blog- Kari Webster
“How fun are these bells. Loved how you used them.”
For those who were holding off to place orders, I have a coupon code to share! Whether you are new to the world of sequins, need to replace some colors, or want to add new colors to your stash, my shop has quite a few options. I have both cupped and flat options is nearly every color and there’s also some unique shapes and sizes in there as well.
I know this was a lengthy post, so I’ll wrap it up. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and that you’ll take a peek in the shop. Happy shopping!
It’s official, if I wasn’t a sequin addict before, I truly am one now. After taking photos of the different sequins in the Pretty Pink Posh shop and working on samples with them, I am loving every single color and product. Today I wanted to showcase my favorite of the mixes I put together- the Classic Christmas Mix.
I always love coming up with new, unique color palettes, but there are some classics that are just to good to mess with. Red, green and gold are the epitome of Christmas colors (in my mind) and these colors all work together beautifully. I wanted to challenge myself to create something with all of the colors and then I thought of a wreath. PERFECT!
If you watched the November Craft Haul video, you saw that I got the Dainty Bow die. Doesn’t it work perfect with this wreath? I was a tad confused on how to put it together at first, but then I figured it out. I’ll do a video in the near future showing how to put it together, in case you’re like me. This bow is so cute- I have so many fun ideas with it!
Shop update: there are only 5 days until the official grand opening! I’ve received some more products that I’ll be adding to the store and soon my shop will be stocked full again. It’s been such a blessing to get some orders this last week- it’s really helped me get a glimpse of what items will be popular and I’ve been able to order more items. Thank you to all those who have ordered thus far- it truly means the world to me to get your support and also hear how much you like the packaging and products!
As promised, I have the listing of the 10 special guests that will be joining me on Sunday for the celebration. Each of these gals have such a unique style and I am on pins and needles to see how they use their PPP products. I hope that you plan on joining us for the inspiration and I’ll be having a special and giveaways!
I hope that you were inspired by today’s sequin card. Thanks for stopping in!
Can you believe that Christmas is exactly one month away? With that being said, I am so far behind on presents and cards, it’s almost comical. I have purchased exactly one gift and it’s a stocking stuffer at that! I’m hoping that once the shop has its grand opening, I’ll be able to focus my time on writing up lists and shopping.
Since I was having a good health day on Saturday (yay!), I was able to get crafty and created today’s card, along with my November Craft Haul video. I’m seriously loving every single thing I purchased- I just couldn’t resist crafting right away! How darling are those birds and that lamp?!
Did you happen to notice the darling Festive Christmas Bells and the Gold Cupped Sequins? Those are both items that I’m carrying in the Pretty Pink Posh shop! I’ve been using both of these items quite a bit lately….you’ll definitely be seeing more samples with them in the near future!
If you follow me on YouTube or Twitter, you saw that I posted the November Craft Haul video. Granted, it’s quite a small haul, but I still wanted to do a video since many of the items are ones I’ve been wanting for a while. Also, I received some adorable items from my sweet friend Christy that I wanted to share with you all. All of the product links are on YouTube in the description box- if you have questions on anything, feel free to leave a comment or send me an email.
Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with some more products from my shop, along with a list of the special guests you’ll be seeing for the grand opening blog hop. It’s only 6 days away….I hope you plan on celebrating with us!
When I received my package of Clearly Besotted goodies for the blog hop, I got a tad bit carried away in creating. There are so many great stamps and I didn’t want to leave any of them out! Instead of bombarding you with all sorts of pictures in the blog hop post, I decided to break up my creations and do a few blog posts. You saw the red/ green cards already, so today I’m featuring the pink/ green ones!
Quite a few people associate my name or blog with THIS sequin shaker card tutorial, and I love that. I wanted to bring you another sequin shaker featuring the cute trees from Modern Christmas. How cute are those trees?! I love the different patterns that Amy created for these trees! I had a hard time deciding which ones to use, but in the end I chose the music notes and polka dot trees.
To add even more Christmas spirit to the card, I used the Sheet Music Embossing Folder. I love the subtle texture it brings and makes the card even a little more whimsical. Also, it ties together the music notes from the pink tree!
The next card is a little more graphic and clean, but equally just as festive. I featured Holiday Sentiments for this card and paired lots of the stamps in this versatile set. I totally love this decorative bracket!
For the branch/ holly leaves/ berries, I did a little bit of masking to get the bottom portion of this card. Imagine how gorgeous it would look in a green and red combination. I’m thinking I need to try this out in the near future….
Joan Smith said…. “Oh my goodness girl you have such an imagination along with designing your awesome and unbelievable window scene I simply can’t believe that you did this with a stamp set. You have left me in awe. Now you little train scene is so adorable and your coloring skills once again are amazing. Gosh you are one talented, clever and creative gal.”
Joan, I will send you an email to get your shipping information so Stephanie can mail out your set. You’re going to have so much fun playing with it!
I hope you were inspired by these Christmas cards featuring the fabulous new Clearly Besotted Stamps sets. Remember, these next few months are going to fly by….I’ll be creating more Christmas cards in the near future and will scatter them in among other cards. I hope you don’t mind!
I am beyond thrilled to be joining the gals over at Clearly Besotted Stamps for their 1st birthday blog hop. If you’re a crafter and follow blogs, I’m sure you’ve seen some of their stamps around- it’s hard to miss. Their stamp sets and dies have taken the blog world by storm and with the amount of talent packed into their design team, along with the amazing products, it’s no surprise that their sets fly off the shelves.
If you have started the blog hop from the beginning, you should be arriving from Pamela Ho’s blog. If you get lost along the way, or want to start from the top, head over to the Clearly Besotted blog.
My first card showcases stamps from the new set, Set The Scene {available for purchase 10/6}. I decided to go a little non-traditional and instead of creating a scene within the snow globe image, I used some of the stamps to create a scene over my entire card.
Imagine how cute these stamps would be on gift tags or even scrapbook pages! I love the small scale of the buildings and check out that adorable sleigh and reindeer! Also, that cute little sentiment? It’s from the new set, Modern Christmas {available for purchase 10/6}.
My next card features some new and old Clearly Besotted Stamps. I paired my very first CBS stamp/ die set, Full Steam Ahead, with some elements from Set The Scene and the holly image from Holiday Sentiments {available for purchase 10/6}. I was so pleased that this card turned out exactly how I envisioned it- that’s not something that happens regularly!
Be sure to leave a comment on each of the blog stops before October 8th {please only one comment per person, per blog}. Each blog is giving away one Clearly Besotted Stamps set and I’ve chosen Set The Scene. I seriously adore this new set and I know you’ll love it, too! Oh yes, and I can’t forget to mention the grand prize that one lucky comment from a random blog will receive- a $75 Simon Says Stamp gift certificate and £100 Clearly Besotted gift certificate!
I hope that you’ve been inspired with these lovely Clearly Besotted Stamps sets. Be sure to take advantage of the 10% savings coupon: BDAY01 – it expires on October 8th!
Have a wonderful rest of your World Card Making Day!
“Maybe if we win, she will put us on her blog.” – quotes from this post
I have a fun post to share with you all today. As my regular readers know, I’m a leader in the high school group at my church. I absolutely LOVE my students and the leadership team I’m blessed to work with. I haven’t been as active, since the accident, but I am {hopefully} on the way to becoming a regular again.
To celebrate this special season, today we changed up the normal routine in Life Groups. I’ll be talking about one specific activity that happened…..building gingerbread houses!
I was introduced to the group as the special guest judge for this activity, apparently having a craft blog qualifies me for this task. Since the other leaders know I run a challenge here on the blog, they decided to incorporate this into the gingerbread house decorating. Dozens of high school students, gingerbread houses, competitiveness and a time limit= a hilarious sight.
I forewarned them and said that I see entries from ALL over the world, so I wasn’t going to be easy on them. :) Detailed work, colors, team-work were the main themes I told them I would be judging on. And with that, they were off….
It’s true, I chose one of the guy groups as the winner. Their creativity in using the box to make it tall and the fact that added the trees for scenery was impressive. Add to that they had music playing from a phone {for ambiance}, it definitely deserved the win.
PLUG: if you’re looking for a solid, Bible believing, faith-filled Christian church and you live in Washington state, check out the Eastridge Today website. Email me if you have any questions, I’ll try to answer them or I’ll find answers for you!
It was so fun to see two different parts of my world collide in this post. If you have kiddos, they are more than welcome to play along in the 10 Minute Craft Dash! Also, remember, it’s not limited to cards/ tags- you can sew items or do other crafty items, too!
That’s a wrap for this post. Have a fabulous Christmas Eve– I’ll talk with you all soon!
Yesterday I mentioned that I compiled a list of activities you can do with your family to build memories. I tried to keep the items listed either free or fairly inexpensive. This list is great for family members of ALL ages.
Family Game Night. We always enjoy these and it’s fun to find new games to learn as a family. Click here to view some of our favorite family games.
Visit the park and bring sack lunches. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, check out local parks, build memories AND it helps get all the extra energy out of the kiddos. This will make nap time a piece of cake!
Check out the local zoo or aquarium. You can create a checklist of items to find, or you could create a quiz for them after your finish all the exhibits.
Fruit picking. I have MANY memories doing this as a kid with family friends. It builds memories and also you get items to take home! Creating jam, canning the items also creates memories.
Trek out to a second-hand store and see who can find the best treasure. Our family has found many designer items there in the past for super great prices.
Bake sugar cookies and have a cookie decorating party. Provide different sprinkles, frosting colors, cookie shapes….. always a memorable experience for all ages.
Roller skating or ice skating. This helps build coordination, gets the blood flowing and can introduce a new passion. You never know, someone you love could be a future Olympian!
Help at a food bank. Not only will this act bless those you serve, it will also be a great way to show your kids how to get involved in the community and think outside of their “wants”.
Stop by the police station or fire house and drop off cards. (I don’t know if handmade food items are acceptable) Explain to your kids how these people put their lives on the line for us and give them an opportunity to thank some of them.
Arrange to cook meals for those in your neighborhood/ church who are going through a hard time. We have been the recipients of this many times in the past– you have no idea how much it blesses those who receive them. (You will want to connect with the people to see if there are any allergies or favorites foods.)
Check out your local library. As a kid, my mom took all of us to the library weekly. It was here I developed a love for reading. The library is also a great resource for DVDs, magazines, newspapers and research for homework!
I hope this list inspires you and your family to create some special memories together. Do YOU have any items do to create memories? I’d love to read them!
If you know anyone who would like this list, feel free to use the social media buttons at the bottom of the post. Thanks so much for stopping by!
