We’re just a couple days away from Christmas and I wanted to share a card I made this year. I didn’t get to send Christmas cards this year, but thanks to a couple guest spots, I did create a couple cards that I’ll be giving to some family members. I was so bummed that I didn’t have time to create cards for crafty friends and my designers this year, but it’s also a blessing, because I was so busy with orders.
This year there were several amazing Christmas sets that came out and while I didn’t get to create with many of them, I’m happy for the time I did get to play with some! This adorable one called Reindeer Games by Mama Elephant was such a fun one.
On this card, I used the Decorative Tag 1 die set for my focal point and the Mama Elephant stamps went along with it perfectly. I added just a few sequins- one for the nose and three for the “snowballs”.
As promised, I have the winners from the Christmas Gift Guide giveaways. It made me so very happy to read that the guides were helpful and some of you purchased items from them! While they were a lot of work, reading how much you appreciated them made it so worth it. I just may have to do this again next year!
Without further ado, here are the winners. I have emailed the winners (using the email addresses given) so I can be sure to send the gift certificates to the right email addresses! Thanks for spending some time with me today!
Just a few more days until Christmas and I am finally finished with my shopping. Now comes the part of waiting for Amazon to deliver the rest of the gifts and then it’ll be a mad dash to gift wrap. Truth be told, I didn’t start shopping until a few days ago, so I’m pretty happy that I was able to get it all done.
I wanted to share this fun card that I created using sequins on the Large Mitten(from DeNami Design). For those who have followed my blog for a while, this card may look semi familiar. I was inspired by THIS old creation and thought I would change it up and feature purples. I personally love the pinks/ reds, but I thought it would be fun to change it up.
I’ve been getting quite a few requests as to how I create these scalloped card bases. I’ll try to do a video as soon as the sun peeks out again! It’s SUPER easy and I’m glad that many of you are liking the way it looks!
I absolutely LOVE this Large Mitten stamp– it’s great for cards, tags and scrapbook pages. You can use it with a wide variety of colors (as shown below) and it still looks amazing. I wanted to give YOU the opportunity to win this stamp, along with a $50 PPP gift certificate.
I’m planning on taking a few days off this week- to relax, spend quality time with family, drink all sorts of yummy holiday drinks and eat like I’m hibernating for the rest of winter. In between, I’m hoping to get in another blog post or two….
QUESTION: anything in particular you’d like me to blog about?
I hope that you’re having a wonderful Christmas season thus far. XO
Despite the fact that I’m totally behind on everything Christmas, I really wanted to do something special for a few people that I see on a regular basis. You know, the people at the post office, UPS and USPS delivery drivers, my baristas- the ones that sometimes get overlooked during the holidays, but that make our lives easier and more pleasant.
I was out and about and found a few items that I thought would be great little gifts for them. Well, leave it to this crafty girl to package it up, snap some photos and a video and create some stamped (but simple) gift tags. Nothing fussy about these, but I think it’ll bring a little Christmas cheer to each person.
1) cranberry cereal bars from Trader Joes (granola bars would be good, too!) 2) chocolate bark from Target 3) Lindt Lindor mini chocolates 4) hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works 5) Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark squares
Lately I haven’t been posting many videos, but I really am trying to change that when the weather permits. It was sunny yesterday, so I decided to take advantage of that and film a quick video showing you this quick and easy gift idea, along with the gift tags that I whipped up using the Snow Days and Milo’s ABCs sets from Lawn Fawn.
Let me know if you were inspired by this video and post- your input really does help with the content I post. I want to continue posting things you enjoy and would love to hear what you would like to see more of in 2015!
I’m excited to share today’s cards…not only because they’re shakers and Christmas cards, but they also feature Heather’s adorable snowman set! I showed it in my September Haul video and I FINALLY got to break it out. This snowman is so cute and by the time I finished one card, I wanted to make another. Hence the two cards!
A little back story for you all… I had heard of Heather and seen her work many times in the last few years, but our paths didn’t cross until recently. We live about an hour away from each other (LOVE finding out about fellow Seattle crafters), and while we haven’t met, just from our emails and chats, I know she is a sweetheart and I know we’ll get along beautifully when we do meet someday.
Okay, now back to the cards.
While I was in the process of creating this card, I was working on an order for Impress Rubber Stamps and they re-ordered their exclusive holiday mix. I just love this color combination and I decided to use it for this fun little card. For those who aren’t able to order it on their site or store, you can individually buy all of the colors in my shop. It’s the 4mm/ 6mm Sparkling Clear, Raspberry and Aquamarine sequins.
To finish off the cards, I added some of the snowflakes from the new Snowflake Sequin Mix, a glittered snow slope behind the shaker and then finished it off with a chevron twill bow.
The next card is pretty much exactly like the red version, except I changed the color to orange. Now you can switch it to whatever color you like, but since I’m such a fan of this chevron twill ribbon, I decided to make it a color that I had in this ribbon. Silly? Maybe, but I truly love this ribbon. I wish they had in dozens of colors!
If you’re new to shaker cards, or perhaps it’s been a while since you made one, check out my tutorial below. It’s quite easy!
GIVEAWAY WINNER: It’s time to announce the winner of the Mama Elephant set from my last giveaway. Congratulations to Vera Khule! I have emailed you and you will have seven days to claim your prize. Thanks for joining me today- I hope you were inspired by my shaker cards.
I feel like it’s been ages since I wrote a post, just to write. Not for a blog hop or to announce winners, but a post just to update, chat and connect with you, my amazing readers and customers. I plan on doing a just because post this week– any specific topics you want me to blog about?
Today I have a card to share that I made using the new Cozy Christmas set from Ellen Hutson. These houses and trees are darling to create little scenes, or you can use them in “windows” like I did on my card. It was super easy to do with the Stitched Duo 1 and Stitched Duo 2, two of my die sets.
If you’re new to my blog, you’ll notice quickly that I love polka dots. A lot. They are perfect for backgrounds and to fill in any blank space you might have. For my polka dots on this particular card, I used the new Bokeh Dots set, which has dots in all sorts of sizes!
I know many of you have been waiting for my sequin restock and I am SO excited to say that ALL of my sequins are now restocked. Yes, all of the 6mm and 4mm sizes, along with the mixes. I still need to add in more inventory, but as of right now, everything is in stock and available for purchase. Also, I’m working on orders for many of my retailers, so they’ll be getting stocked up on their sequins as well. Thank you all for your patience!
Well, that’s a wrap for this post. I’ll be back tomorrow with the winners of the Product Release Blog Hop.
Today I’m honored to be a special guest for the Essentials by Ellen Blog Hop! We’re so excited to unveil a brand new line of high quality Clear Stamp Sets and Designer Dies, designed by Julie Ebersole exclusively for Ellen Hutson LLC.
This collection reflects an eclectic mix of images, sentiments and art styles that are sure to appeal to a wide range of tastes! Just in time for holiday crafting, the entire release is available now at Ellen Hutson LLC.
Ready to see what I created? Let’s go…
My first card features the adorable gingerbread man from Tis the Season. I just love this little guy! I added the sprig from Christmas Scribbles to the top of the tags, which made it feel more festive and also brought in the green from the card base.
The little tags are from the brand new Stitched Tags die set I released (and will be at Ellen Hutson soon). I created a card, but you could easily just stamp one of the gingerbread men on a tag and make it a gift tag- easy peasy!
My next card showcases the three new brushstroke word dies- peace, love and joy. These brushstroke dies are so neat and versatile- they can work for cards and tags all year round! I paired these dies up with the Bokeh Dots set, which has all sorts of circular images and well, dots. *wink*
It’s hard to tell from this photo, but I actually die cut these words multiple times and adhered them together- it’s gives them an almost chipboard kind of look. (You’ll see this better in the video below) It had been a while since I broke out my metallic silver ink pad, but I love the little hints of sparkle you get from the circle shapes, along with the sequins.
My last card shows off the Brushstroke Joy die, along with the Christmas Scribbles set. I started off with the Stitched Duo 1 die as my focal point and created this little scene from there. You could easily switch out the turquoise for pink, purple, red or orange to change up the feel of the card. Imagine a trio of different colors in this design!
Did you happen to notice the itty bitty dots on the light blue cardstock? That stamp is from Bokeh Dots (which I go a little more in depth about in my video). You know how sometimes you need a little filler stamp for the blank areas on a card? This tiny dot is so perfect for that!
Once I finished my card, I realized it was a little flat, so I added my handy dandy sequins to dress things up. I used the 6mm Espresso, 6mm Sparkling Clear and 4mm Sparkling Clear. It’s such an easy step, but it really is the perfect finishing touch to so many projects!
It wouldn’t be a real blog hop without some sort of prize and the gals at Ellen Hutson have graciously allowed me to give the Tis the Season set away. All you have to do is leave a comment and one lucky winner will win this fun set!
Okay, now it’s time to to move on to the next stop and more chances at some prizes!
Head over to the CLASSroom, where there is a GIANT prize package being given away—be sure to leave a comment there by October 8th; winners will be announced October 9th!
Still can’t get enough? I filmed a video showcasing all of the new dies and stamp sets more in depth, along with some peeks at more cards I created with these products.
Wow, is it really the last day of September? Do you know what that means? TOMORROW is release day and I’ll be sharing a couple of cards, a reveal video and the new products will be available for purchase!
As many of you know, I love giving you sneak peeks and today’s card shows one of the new dies that will be available starting tomorrow. Can you spot it? If you said the small tag die, you are absolutely correct. This is part of a trio of dies and I think you’re going to love them!
Last month, I shared the Impress Botanical Wreath set and I pulled it out again for today’s card. How pretty are those poinsettia blossoms? Love them in the rich Raspberry Jam ink from Hero Arts. (See below for the product list)
Lately I have been loving gold, but I thought I’d break out the silver for this holiday card. I added a few Metallic Silver sequins, along with a small silver jingle bell. I just love these little bells!
For some reason, the holidays make me want to break out the glitter and I added a touch to the poinsettia flowers. All sorts of sparkly goodness on this one!
Just in case you missed the news in my last post, I have a new podcast episode up with my friends at ScrapOwl. If you listen to the episode, let me know what your favorite part was! I always get so nervous doing these sorts of things, so any feedback from you gives me courage to more things like this in the future!
Well, I’m going to close this post. I will see you bright and early tomorrow for a new post and the unveiling of the new products!
Have you had a weekend pass you by and you felt like you accomplished a lot? That’s what happened to me this weekend. Honestly, this feeling hasn’t happened in SO long (due to my health issues and low energy), but things are starting to look up and I can’t wait to tackle even more! Watch out…. once I’m closer to full health, I have all sorts of plans and ideas that I’ve been putting on hold!
Today I have another card to share using the Seattle Christmas set, along with the newly purchased Snow Day set from Lawn Fawn. Many of you know that I love mixing and matching my stamp sets and I was pleasantly surprised to see how perfectly these ones go together.
We are about 2 1/2 weeks away from my October release, but I couldn’t resist adding one of the new products to this card. Can you spot it? These next few weeks, I’ll be teasing the new goodies big time… I hope you all saved up since I didn’t release anything this month! *wink*
I wanted to announce the lucky winner of the THREE Impress stamp sets from THIS giveaway. It was so fun to read all of your favorite holidays and the reasons why you chose that holiday. It also made me happy that you enjoyed the cards I made in that post…. if you’re local, you just might see them in an Impress location soon!
Christy Dyson, please contact me with your mailing address. You’re going to have so much fun creating this upcoming Christmas season! Alright, sweet friends, that’s going to wrap up today’s post. I hope you have an awesome Monday!
It’s funny, when I first opened the Pretty Pink Posh Shop, I naively thought I would have more time to create. Silly me! Nowadays, I have to purposefully plan ahead and schedule days/ times to craft, or it will never happen. Sometimes it’s hard to get the creativity going, but every now and then, a stamp set will inspire me and then I have to force myself to stop so I can get sleep!
Today’s post showcases three brand new stamps sets from Impress Rubber Stamps that not only were easy to dive into, they also go my creativity going on overtime. I whipped these three cards up, all while drinking just one Starbucks drink! That, my friends, is a good craft day. *wink*
This first card is the simple one of the bunch, but it would be perfect for mass producing! I used the Stitched Duo 1 die for my focal point, along with the scallop from the Stitched Borders 1. I used one of the sprigs from the Botanical Wreath set and then masked the Space Needle and stamped the sentiment (from the Seattle Christmas set). To dress it up a little bit more, I added some Sparkling Clear sequins and twine and voila!
This next card features the same sprig from the card above, but I used it to create my own wreath. I LOVED working with the Botanical Wreath set because of the endless possibilities and the great images solid images. Once I finished the wreath, I thought it lacked color and dimension, so I pulled out my trusty 4mm sequins (in Raspberry and Metallic Gold). Not only did it add color and dimension, it made it more festive as well!
Last, but certainly not least, I created a shaker card that shows off the Seattle Christmas set and some snowflakes from Build A Snowman. I don’t know if you could tell, but I used a lot of blue, green and red/ pink on today’s card. I love the way this color combination looks so perfect for Christmas and also reflects the Pacific Northwest. Speaking of which, something exciting is coming that Impress will be carrying exclusively (outside of my shop). Stay tuned for that!
For those new to shaker cards, I did a Sequin Shaker video tutorial a while back that shows how simple shaker cards can be. I personally always got intimidated by them, so I streamlined the process and you can see the results are super fun!
Here’s a closer view of the shaker card. Don’t the Sparkling Clear, Aquamarine and Raspberry sequins look good together? It’s so fresh and festive!
Since today was a special post, I also found some time to film a quick little video. I show these cards a little more in depth, along with a peek at the three stamp sets I featured in this post. This is a new kind of video (for me), so let me know what you think!
Okay, now onto the super fun part of today’s post…. the GIVEAWAY part! These three sets were graciously donated by Impress Rubber Stamps for this post and I can’t wait for one of you to win it!
I hope that you all have been having a blessed Christmas season thus far. Despite my lack of planning and ability to get out to stores, I’m just about finished with my shopping. I have a couple packages arriving today and then I believe I’m all finished and can do the mad dash to get them all wrapped.
Today I have a winter card to share that I made a few weeks back. As you know, I sell these festive Christmas bells and I’ve been having fun adding them to all sorts of cards this year. Find my other samples with them HERE, HERE and HERE.
I went with a more subtle, winter color palette for this card, but then added a pop of colors on the mitten cuffs and the card base. Seriously, how cute are those pom poms and the little bells on the cuff?!
I’m sure you have a full day ahead, so I’ll wrap up this post. I better get back to wrapping some more presents and also prepping from some exciting things I’m announcing in January. *wink* I hope you all will be ready for some Valentine treats and new products!
