Gnome Kids

Can I get gushy for a moment? I want to send giant hugs to each one of you. Truly, I wouldn’t be the person I am (or be in the place I am with my business) if it weren’t for the faithful prayers of my readers, the wonderful emails/ comments and those special gifts and cards you send my way. I am so very blessed to have you all in my life!

*Okay, now back to our regularly scheduled post…..*

Oh my goodness, did Father’s Day creep up on anyone else? As I was making a run to the post office, I came to the realization that Father’s Day was on Sunday and I needed to make my dad a card. STAT. Every year I make my dad a card and each time I make “us kids” into stamped creations. One year we were dogs, the other cats, owls… yeah, we’ve been pretty much animal you can think of. This year, I decided to make us gnomes, courtesy of this Woodland Chickie.

For those new to my blog, there are five kids in our family (I’m the oldest) and we each have unique personalities. I tried my best to showcase that in this card, without adding extra fuss. Thanks to the Stitched Duo 1 dies, this card was a piece of cake!

It makes me so happy to hear that many of you have purchased the other dies that I’ve been using in my recent cards. Lately, in addition to the PPP dies, my go-to ones is this Mama Elephant combo set and the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border.  These dies are definitely “must haves” in my book!

In the last few days, I’ve been getting emails from customers sharing their creations using the dies. There are no words for how happy it makes me to see  you enjoying my products and the encouragement you bring to me for future endeavors. I can’t reveal much, but stay tuned for some announcements coming in August….. you won’t want to miss it….BIG things are in store!

Introduction to Pretty Pink Posh Dies

Happy June 1st!

It’s that time again… it’s time to show off the newest products in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop! I’m particularly excited about this month because I finally get to officially show off the newest product I’m carrying- 100% steel dies that I designed! I’ve been showing them off in some of my latest posts and photos and now it’s finally available to you all!

Today’s card is one that screams Summer to me. It could be because of the Snorkel Chickie and Under the Sea set, or maybe it’s the colors…. whatever the case may be, I was definitely dreaming of being in Hawaii when I made this card. Granted, I would never venture underwater like this, but I like the idea of it!

How fun are those little “windows” inside of the tag? I honestly cannot get over how many possibilities I’ve been able to come up with these dies. Once you get your hands on them, I have a feeling you’ll be whipping up lots of creative ideas, too!

On the card I used both of the die sets: Stitched Duo 1 Dies and the Stitched Borders 1 Dies.

I put together a video introducing my new dies, along with some card ideas and then I show how you can create the card above. For those who are interested in just the introduction, you’ll just need to watch the first 5 minutes.

Okay, now onto some pretty fabulous news. On Thursday, June 5th, I’ll be having a mini blog hop with the DT and some special guests featuring the new dies. You’ll definitely want to hop along- I’m giving away gift certificates and these gals have created some phenomenal samples to inspire you!

Chickie Flower Shaker

bloghopGood morning, sweet friends!

I am so thrilled to see that you all are enjoying the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop. I was able to hop along to quite a few stops and hope to visit some more later on. I must say, I have been SO inspired by the entries and just might be thinking we will make this a quarterly event.

Since the blog hop post was quite long, I decided not to share my card in that post, so I’m bringing it to you today! I have been loving bright and happy colors lately and this card definitely falls into this category.

Pretty Pink Posh I Chickie Flowers

For this card, I used the DeNami Design Chickie Flowers and the Sending You Love stamps. It’s been a while since I pulled out this chickie stamp and forgot how fun it is! I just may have made another card with this stamp that I’ll be sharing down the road. *wink*

If you want to participate in the blog hop, but don’t know how to make a sequin shaker, it’s okay! I put together a video tutorial and I’ve heard from many people that they are also addicted to making shaker cards now!

There’s only 18 hours left to enter your sequin shakers and leave comments- be sure to make some time to join in the fun. As I mentioned before, there’s TONS of amazing prizes up for grabs and you never know, leaving comments on a few stops just might get you a prize!

Have a wonderful Monday. Big crafty hugs to you all!

Ahoy Mate

While I can be quite girly, I have had a thing for nautical themed items for quite some time. In fact, back in my early high school years, my room was red/ white/ blue and had a semi nautical/ patriotic feel to it. {Don’t ask…I honestly couldn’t tell you why I chose that over a girly theme}

Recently, I was fulfilling an order at work and saw the Sailboat Chickie. How could I push this little guy aside for so long?! Over the weekend, I was at the store and saw these delicious looking cupcakes. Instantly I knew I wanted to create little cupcake toppers and a matching card featuring this little guy.

Did you spy my newly purchased Quinn’s ABC’s dies? These little letters are so much fun to use! If you haven’t seen it already, head on over to THIS POST to see the stamp set used, along with a video on the matching dies. {They are currently out of stock at Ellen Hutson, but they should be restocked soon!}

One of my March sponsors, Little Free Radical, carries a large variety of paper straws that are swoon worthy. Last month, I created a cupcake topper and card featuring a green straw {see here} and decided I wanted to use a grey straw today. I won’t lie, I literally am looking for any excuse to use one- they just make me so happy!

I hope that these little creations brought a smile to your face and inspired you. I’ll be back tomorrow- hope to see you then!

Birthday Train + New Video

March is jam packed full of birthdays for my relatives. Let’s see…there’s my brother, my aunt, my grandma, my sister and my brother-in-law {who coincidentally are married and have the same birthday!}. Needless to say, I’ve been busy creating all sorts of birthday cards.

Today’s card was created for my sister and brother-in-law. I know, it’s horrible that I combined their card! This card took twice as long as I had planned for it to and well, I’m thinking what’s INSIDE the card will help them forget I only made them one. *wink* With my new obsession of sequins, I just had to add a few of them to this card. birthdaytrain1a

I received some questions on how I’m adhering my sequins to my projects. After going through my stash, I decided to give my Crystal Lacquer a whirl and it works PERFECTLY! Since it comes with a teeny tip, it’s perfect for these little sequins.

You may have noticed that I used some alphabet stamps on today’s card. I have loved this set from the moment I saw it and I was so thrilled when Lawn Fawn released dies to coordinate with them. I was so giddy to open mine up, I just had to film a short little video on how the dies work with the set and how I plan on using them.

I’m curious if any of you have alphabet dies and if so, which ones are your favorite? Also, how do you store them? As I mentioned in the video, I’m still looking for a good {and inexpensive} way to store mine. Can’t wait to hear your suggestions!

Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with the 10 Minute Craft Dash #13 Highlights and info on how to get an early peek at the upcoming challenge. Hope to see you then!

Birthday Bonanza Blog Hop

Good morning!

It’s time for the monthly DeNami Blog Hop and since it’s our birthday month, I thought it fitting to make it a birthday blog hop! There are so many different ways this theme can be used- I just know that this hop will be filled to the brim with inspiration! If you started from the beginning, you should be coming from Pattie Goldman’s blog.

Be sure to leave comments on each stop. We’re giving away BIGGER gift certificates in honor of the birthday month, which means bigger shopping sprees!

I went the cutesy route and decided to bring out the Cupcake Chickie as my focal point. I have loved this stamp from the first moment I saw it and can’t believe I haven’t used it for so long. Since this is a special hop, I wanted to do something “out of the norm” and made a cupcake topper, too. {I actually made three and took a picture, but the lighting turned out horrible}
birthday1a

I kept this card design super basic because I wanted the chickie to the take the spotlight. Only three stamps were used on this card {supply list below}.

It’s time to head on over to the next stop of the hop: Lisa Petrella’s blog! I have the incredible privilege of working closely with her as a DT member and she is phenomenal. Not only that, she always has the most creative ideas!

I’ll be back tomorrow for a small haul video and a card featuring what I created with my new goodies. If you’re wondering, yes, sequins will be making an appearance! Hope to see you then!
