Birthday Train + New Video
March is jam packed full of birthdays for my relatives. Let’s see…there’s my brother, my aunt, my grandma, my sister and my brother-in-law {who coincidentally are married and have the same birthday!}. Needless to say, I’ve been busy creating all sorts of birthday cards.
Today’s card was created for my sister and brother-in-law. I know, it’s horrible that I combined their card! This card took twice as long as I had planned for it to and well, I’m thinking what’s INSIDE the card will help them forget I only made them one. *wink* With my new obsession of sequins, I just had to add a few of them to this card.
I received some questions on how I’m adhering my sequins to my projects. After going through my stash, I decided to give my Crystal Lacquer a whirl and it works PERFECTLY! Since it comes with a teeny tip, it’s perfect for these little sequins.
You may have noticed that I used some alphabet stamps on today’s card. I have loved this set from the moment I saw it and I was so thrilled when Lawn Fawn released dies to coordinate with them. I was so giddy to open mine up, I just had to film a short little video on how the dies work with the set and how I plan on using them.
I’m curious if any of you have alphabet dies and if so, which ones are your favorite? Also, how do you store them? As I mentioned in the video, I’m still looking for a good {and inexpensive} way to store mine. Can’t wait to hear your suggestions!
Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with the 10 Minute Craft Dash #13 Highlights and info on how to get an early peek at the upcoming challenge. Hope to see you then!
Wow, I love how you have applied the sequins to this card! It is such a happy and sweet card!
I absolutely LOVE this fun card. Made my day! Thank you!
What a cute card Paulina, the sequins are zippy! I think it’s okay to combine their card since they’re married and share the same birthday…why not!
Cute!
Kelly Marie mentioned that you could store them behind your stamps in the same packaging (I think that’s what she said at least) on Saturday. I don’t have too many, so I just keep them in their packaging.
There are magnetic folders out there. At the store I went on on Saturday, they had these cool boxes from ArtBin. Here’s a link: http://www.joann.com/artbin-magnetic-die-box/zprd_11736030a/

Paulina, this is so sweet! I find the sequins look like they’re glowing and your coloring of the alphas has the same effect. Awesome design!
I have a set of alpha dies from memory box. I have two ways for storing my dies. My spellbinders dies are setup on a whiteboard with 1/2″ magnetic strips taped across the front. I store Spellbinders dies this way because they’re easier to bend out of shape. My thin steel dies are stored in two Artbin totes with single-sided magnetic sheets. I can easily flip through these like a book. My alpha dies are stored on a full magnetic sheet in a dvd case. that way if they get knocked off, they stay within the case. If I had more shelving in my craftroom I would prefer to store all of my dies in the plastic binder cases with the combo white/magnetic sheets…perfect for stamp/die sets like from PTI, MFT and W+9. I have a LOT of dies! lol I’m kinda addicted at this point, but where I die cut on many of my projects, I don’t feel bad :) Hope this helps! Here are some links to the products I typed about :)

March is a busy b-day month for my family too. This card is super adorable! Love the chickies.
I have these stamps and think that maybe now I *need* these dies too lol. Thanks for sharing your video. As for storage I just recently sorted my dies and store them in folders (I wanted it to be user friendly and affordable) , I made a quick video showing how: http://youtu.be/FH68pyOFykw
