I’m so sad I haven’t been able to do much for this holiday this year. I had all sorts of plans to do fun pumpkins and some baking, but alas, the accident has gotten the better of me. Hopefully I’ll start feeling better health-wise so I can do some fun things for Thanksgiving! I have all sorts of ideas running through this brain of mine.
I have one last Halloween card to share with you, and it’s one of my favorites from this year. I just love this ghost image and when you pair it with some washi tape, he is even cuter! Have I mentioned how much I ♥ washi tape? It is my obsession right now. So many fun patterns, so many different uses!
If you are a DeNami fan, be sure to head on over to the DeNami blog for news on savings that are coming in the month of November. You can stock up on your washi tape, stamps and even get supplies for your Christmas cards or gifts!
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. From me to you, I wish you and yours a safe Halloween with your family and friends.
I hope to see you tomorrow for my Thankful Thursday post!
Oh boy, I almost didn’t get this posted for the month of October! It is mind boggling how quickly this month has gone by. In between work, doctors appointments and health issues, then trying to find time to craft, this month has breezed on by. I can’t believe there’s less than two months until Christmas!
If you’re new to my blog, every so often {I try for once a month}, I do a feature where I post some of the things I’m loving at the moment. I figure if I’m loving something, chances are some of you might enjoy them as well.
It is no secret I enjoy reality tv shows. Add cooking to the mix and it’s almost a guarantee that I’ll like it. I enjoy Top Chef and I was so excited when I heard that Life After Top Chef was coming to air. I really like Richard Blais and Fabio is just too funny. I love seeing what goes in their real life and how their restaurants are started and the things that go behind-the-scenes.
It was bound to happen……I have officially purchased my first pair of rain boots. You would think since I live in Seattle, I would have gotten some years ago. I’ll be honest, I have never been a fan of them, but recently with the cute styles and the CRAZY rain, I just couldn’t resist any longer. This turquoise color is so happy, I can’t help but smile everytime I look down.
With the sickness bug floating about, I’m all about anti-bacterial soaps. I simply love the smells at Bath & Body Works- they are goodness in a bottle! While I was looking these up, I noticed that they have a BUNCH of new scents in. I can’t wait to go and smell them! I particularly want to smell Creamy Pumpkin, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Winter Cranberry & Iced Gingerbread. Yay for yummy seasonal scents!
Since the health bills have been coming in steadily, I’ve been doing my best to cut back on Starbucks. Recently I’ve gone to a new alternative- making my own chai drinks at home! It’s great for the colder weather, but you can also have it iced. It’s easily accessible at the stores {in the tea section} and is fairly inexpensive.
I always love seeing what others are enjoying. What are a few of YOUR favorite things at the moment? It can be drinks, shows, movies, etc…. it just might introduce me (and others) to some new things!
It’s time for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #5 Highlights! It made me so happy to see and read that you all enjoyed these colors! There were so many different styles of cards entered, along with so many themes. It is so fun to see you take the colors and interpret them into your own style and flair. I just love it!
Congratulations to Sindhu

A giant thank you to all who played along and have been spreading the word about the 10 Minute Craft Dash. You all are amazing! I have already been starting to get sponsors for 2013 and boy, do we have some awesome ones. I hope you all will continue to follow and play along in the challenge.
I’m stopping in with a quick little post- I just couldn’t pass up the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge! This challenge was to use kraft and as you may have noticed, I’ve been using it a lot in the recent months. I can’t seem to get enough and sneak it in whenever I can!
For my card, I used a recent set I received from Avery Elle called Blossoms & Blooms. This set is amazing and I can’t wait to show you what I have created with it for next week….. *hint hint*
I apologize for the weird scallops in the photo. The way I edit photos makes it so hard to get those scallops the way they are in real life- I promise, they are perfectly scalloped! :)
I love how easy it is to layer these pretty blossoms. I used three five different images to get this flower- the stem, three blossoms and the flower tip. To top it off, I just couldn’t resist adding a little bit of bling- even CAS cards need a little bling!
I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. Thanks for stopping in!
I was recently having a conversation with my mom while we were working and the topic of my being shy came up. I have known from previous conversations with others that I have a tendency to come off as “snobbish, stuck up or arrogant”.{Trust me, I don’t like or aim for this.}
Apparently, with these traits, some may get the impression that one is popular. When my mom told me that some people think I am popular, I literally laughed. What?! Me?! I am far from that. I’m the girl that was homeschooled for most of her life, can be shy to a fault, has a lot of insecurities and can be downright random sometimes. How in the world could I give the impression of being popular?
When I think of someone being popular, I think of celebrities or people who have made a name for themselves in one way or another. While I havepreviously wanted to be popular, I have since brushed that thought aside. With popularity comes a lot of pressures and responsibility thatI’m not sure I would be able to handle. I had a brush with it before and well, it’s just not as glamorous as it is made out to be.
All of this sparked a thought….. what does popularity really mean? What classifies someone as being popular? I’m curious to hear what you all think on this issue and anything related to the issue of popularity.
It’s Thursday and that means a new Thankful Thursday post to share. I’ll be honest, this week was really hard for me to come up with things to list. It’s been a rough week for me and staying positive and looking on the bright side hasn’t been easy.Praying I can get out of this slump and start feeling better soon!
Even though this list is short, I am super thankful for these things. The saying is true, sometimes it’s the little things in life.
unexpected guest at work bringing me Starbucks
yummy soups that keep me warm in this cold weather {and help with being sick}
the sweet get well card I received {thank you Sheryl!}
new nail polish color that includes sparkly tips
Sweet friends, what are you thankful for this week? Can’t wait to see your lists!
Today I have another card to share with you featuring the current 10 Minute Craft Dash color palette. I remember back {not that long ago} when I was timid to pull out orange onto my cards. Now, I seem to sneak it on whenever I get a chance! Ah, the beauty of transitioning styles and going outside your comfort zone.
In case you haven’t seen the colors, here is what we are featuring in the challenge. If you’re new to the challenge, you can create any sort of crafty item, it just needs to be with these colors and take under 10 minutes to create. {Don’t worry, you can gather your supplies beforehand!}
And now, here is take 2 of giving these colors a whirl. I couldn’t help but pull out the Elephant for this card. Yes, I realize I pulled him recently out on this card and this card, but he’s just so adorable!
Time it took to create: 7 minutes 3 seconds
There’s a great prize up for grabs and this challenge definitely gives you a little workout. I hope you’ll come join in on the fun and also spread the word. The more, the merrier! :)
You ladies are fab- thank you for all the sweet comments recently. They totally make my day and with my health not being great, they definitely bring smiles to my face.
See you all tomorrow for my Thankful Thursday post. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
I just came from taking a look at the entries in the current 10 Minute Craft Dash. Oh my, I am loving all the beautiful entries and I’m so happy to read you like the colors featured! They are super fun ones! If you haven’t submitted yet, or have only created one item, you still have four days left to enter!
Today I’m sharing a card I created during the World Cardmaking Day {weekend} crafting session I had. Do you remember how I did a Featured Blogger post earlier this month? These stamps are from Dawn’s company, WPlus9 Design Studio! For this card, I used Very Vintage Greetings.
This color combination is unique for me, but I really like it! It is the essence of Autumn and goes perfectly with all the apple cider I’ve been drinking recently. :)
How have you all been doing? Since I haven’t been doing well health wise, I feel pretty disconnected and haven’t had a chance to hop around blogs as much as usual. If you’ve created something recently, or done a blog post in the last day or two, feel free to post links so I can check them out!
I thought I would pop in today with a card I made for one of my blog friends. This gal is an amazing card maker and I’ll admit, I always get intimidated when I send cards to my crafty friends. I tried to create something that fit her style and I think I was able to accomplish that.
You know how much I love my bright colors, but I have noticed that I’m starting to develop a love for pastel and muted colors as well. I suppose I’m really starting to enjoy the whole realm of colors….okay, maybe not neons, but maybe I’ll conquer those someday.
For my “flowers” I used the Scallop Circle, which I’ve done in the past. I wanted to change it up a little bit, so I punched out circles with patterned paper and then used a raised sticker to give it more dimension. I’ll be honest, this is my first time doing this, but I know it won’t be my last! It has such a great result and really makes the centers shine.
Do you have any fun plans this weekend? Last night I went to a concert, and I also have one tonight. Yay for fun weekends! I’m so thankful for friends who are willing to drive me so I can still enjoy these fun occasions. :)
Change is inevitable. Whether we deal with it in family life, work life, school life or your love life, change is something you can count on. Now if you’re anything like me, you don’t like change.
I’m a person who likes routine, almost to a fault. I know what I like at Starbucks, so I continually get the same thing. I know that I can count on Target to have things I like, so I go there. I know that my nail salon does my nails the way I like it, so I don’t venture out to other places. Yes, I like my routine.
You can ask my parents or siblings, or even my bestie, I don’t handle change all that well. In fact, I usually try to do everything I can to avoid it. However, as you all know, it’s inevitable…..
When my accident happened two months ago {story here}, this was the last thing that was in my plan. Having doctor appointment after doctor appointment wasn’t what I had in mind for the month of September. Getting three MRIs, two blood tests, an EKG, among other tests wasn’t a dream of mine. Not being able to drive and go through constant pain had never crossed my mind. Ever. All of these definitely have brought change into my life.
I’ll be the first to admit, recently my attitude about all of this hasn’t been that great. Okay, it’s been downright horrible. I’ve been wrestling with God as to why this is happening. I’m fairly certain I would be able to fill bathtubs with the amount of tears I have shed. I could go head-to-head with T. Swift on writing songs right about now.
This accident has changed me at my core. I’ve learned that each day really isn’t guaranteed. I’ve re-learned that change brings out what is inside and I still have a lot to work on. I’ve learned that while change may bring unpleasant things, there ARE still things to be grateful for and good can come from it. While I don’t know the reason for all of this, I am confident that God has a reason and someday {hopefully} I can help others who are going through difficult times.
Are you dealing with change? If so, how are you dealing with it, or how have you? I would love to hear from you all. Not only do you inspire me, you inspire the other PPP blog readers.
P.S. I had plans for this blog in December, but those have been put on hold…..for now. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to do it in 2013, but we shall see. One step at a time, right? :)
