I am so thrilled to see that you all are enjoying the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop. I was able to hop along to quite a few stops and hope to visit some more later on. I must say, I have been SO inspired by the entries and just might be thinking we will make this a quarterly event.
Since the blog hop post was quite long, I decided not to share my card in that post, so I’m bringing it to you today! I have been loving bright and happy colors lately and this card definitely falls into this category.
For this card, I used the DeNami Design Chickie Flowers and the Sending You Love stamps. It’s been a while since I pulled out this chickie stamp and forgot how fun it is! I just may have made another card with this stamp that I’ll be sharing down the road. *wink*
If you want to participate in the blog hop, but don’t know how to make a sequin shaker, it’s okay! I put together a video tutorial and I’ve heard from many people that they are also addicted to making shaker cards now!
There’s only 18 hours left to enter your sequin shakers and leave comments- be sure to make some time to join in the fun. As I mentioned before, there’s TONS of amazing prizes up for grabs and you never know, leaving comments on a few stops just might get you a prize!
Have a wonderful Monday. Big crafty hugs to you all!
Do you remember the feeling you go when you were a kid at Christmas? Excitement, joy, waiting anxiously…. that’s exactly how I have been feeling leading up to today- the day the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop starts! Not only am I a lover of sequin shakers, but I’m also excited because this marks the very first blog hop that I’m opening up to the public on this blog.
Date: The blog hop starts TODAY, Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 6AM, PST and will run until Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:55 PM, PST.
Who: We want EVERYONE to be involved. If you love sequins and have a blog, you are welcome to join along. Don’t have a blog yet? This is a great time to start one OR you can just hop along and be inspired!
Prizes: There will be ALL sorts of prizes…whether you’re entering creations into the hop, or hopping along and leaving comments on the stop, there will be prizes for BOTH!
What kind of prizes will there be? There’s TONS of gift certificates and there are also prize packs! When I announce the winners, I’ll detail every prize from the sponsors, but let me just say that EVERY SINGLE prize is wonderful.
More Prizes?
If we can get 100 entries, I’ll donate a $20 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson or Simon Says Stamp. 200 entries? I’ll donate another! For every 100 entries (up to 500) I’ll throw in an extra $20 gift certificate!
If you want to participate, but don’t know how to create a sequin shaker, you’re in luck! I have put together a shaker tutorial video on YouTube and I promise it’s not as hard as you may think!
I hope you all will be able to participate one way or another, whether that means by creating something or leaving comments!

Have a super wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to hop along and see all of YOUR lovely shakers!
Guess what tomorrow is?! If you said the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop, you’re absolutely correct!
I wanted to share one last sequin shaker card as inspiration before the blog hop. Instead of a girlie or bright one, I wanted to show that you can also make shakers for the guys in your life! I used the Nature Embellishment Kit(which is currently sold out, but I plan on restocking it!) for a lot of the elements on this card. While many may say that sequins aren’t for guys, I beg to differ. I think you can still use them on guy cards…after all, why wouldn’t enjoy shaking around a happy card?
If you watched my sequin shaker tutorial, you’ll recognize the Top Dog Dies photo mats die. This die makes it so easy to create little scenes in the little “polaroids”. You’ll notice on the outside of my frame, I decorated it up with some star wood veneers and topped it off with a twine bow. Super easy to put together, but the results are pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself!
I hope that you ALL can participate in the blog hop tomorrow, April 26th. If you missed the announcement, or want to look at the details again, CLICK HERE. This blog hop is open to the public and let me just tell you, there’s LOTS of prizes and I just may have some extra gifts planned as well.
Speaking of the blog hop, I hope that you have been inspired by all of the samples in blog land thus far. I have some more links to share with you!
(I’ll be adding a few more blog links later today!)
I’ll see you all tomorrow bright and early at 6AM, PST to start linking up your sequin shaker creations. I’ll have the details in the post and let’s just say that the more people that participate, the more prizes there will be! Be sure to spread the word!
I don’t know about you, but it seems when I have a “crucial” list of things to do, something seems to happen and that list goes out the window. This past weekend, was one of those times. I had wanted to make a shaker card for each day of this week, along with filming more videos, but my body had other plans. Alas, I was in bed pretty much all weekend and got none of my list items done.
With that being said, I’m happy to be recovering and while I didn’t get any new shaker cards made, I have LOTS of friends who did! I’ll list them at the end of the post…
Today I’m sharing a card I made a few weeks back, but never got around to blogging. It features my current favorite set- Up and Away by Mama Elephant. I have to admit, this set has been on my table for several weeks now and I have no plans to put it away. It’s such a fun and happy set!
You may recognize the paper on this card- I just purchased another pack of it and featured it my April Craft Haul video! If I had to recommend one paper pack for you to get, this would be the one. It has a variety of patterns and colors and they are all perfect!
Is anyone else counting down the days until Saturday (ie: the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop)? You can bet I’ll be here with my coffee and ready to hop around the stops. I hope that each of you will join me, along with all of our amazing sponsors, for this FUN event!
Speaking of the blog hop, all this week a variety of the sponsors and their teams will be bringing their sequin shaker cards to blog land. Let’s call it a pre-party of sorts. My hope is that you’ll be inspired by their creations and then create your own sequin shaker(s) to share on Saturday! Here are the designers who have posted sequin shakers thus far:
If you haven’t already, be sure to like the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page. I’ll be sharing some of the sequin shakers there and I always love connecting with my readers there. Also, occasionally I have exclusive giveaways there, so that’s another good reason to “like” the page. *wink*
Well, I’ll let you hop along to the stops I listed above. Enjoy your Tuesday, I’ll chat with you all soon!
Today I have my April Craft Haul (Can you believe it? I didn’t wait until the last minute!). This month I decided to go a little outside my comfort zone and got a few products that I wouldn’t typically get. Any guesses what they might be?
Before you watch the video, I want to remind you that in ONE WEEK the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop starts. Starting on Monday, several different companies will be sharing inspiration featuring sequin shakers leading up to the big day. Are you ready? There’s going to be SO much inspiration and fun! I’m so excited and I hope you all are too!
Okay, now you all can go ahead and watch the haul video….
What craft purchases did you make this month? I want to hear….it might inspire me to purchase something next month!
Today I wanted to share some exciting news….now I mentioned this info on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page and my Instagram, but I haven’t officially shared it here on the blog yet.
I’m SO proud and thrilled to say that Pretty Pink Posh is now being carried at Simon Says Stamp, Ellen Hutson, and a couple of brick and mortar stores! As of now, there’s a store in Fairfield, CA called Mainely Stampin’ that carries my products, along with a store in St. Petersburg, FL called Whim So Doodle that also has my products. My current goal: to work on getting a store in Seattle and New York to carry my line- then I can have a store in every corner of the States! *wink*
For those who don’t have local stores, Simon Says Stamp and Ellen Hutson are FABULOUS places to purchase from. Now only do they carry my products, they also have thousands of other ones as well! With crafting being such a visual hobby, I know it’s nice to see things laid out. Here are exactly the PPP products each of these online stores carries:
Some of you may have seen this picture that I posted last night. I finally got around to making my sequin stash PRETTY and let me tell you, seeing all of them organized makes me want to play with them even more! I’ll do a post/ video on my storage in the near future- stay tuned!
In closing, I want to note that I’m making my wholesale accounts to a limited amount at this time, so if you have a store you’d like to see them in, be sure to let the store owner know about Pretty Pink Posh soon!
P.S. Only 9 more days until the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop! If you haven’t seen my new video tutorial on a sequin shaker, CLICK HERE.
For those new to my blog, this is an update from my car accident post HERE. The other updates can be found HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE , HERE and HERE.
Today I’m taking a break from all things crafty here on the blog and giving a long overdue health update. I’ve been receiving several emails asking how I’m coping and how things are on the health front, so I figured it was time to update you all with a post.
It’s been 603 days since that dreaded day….the day I was in my car accident and my life drastically changed. Gone are the days of me being a normal twenty-something year old and now I’m facing a time in my life where each day is uncertain if I’ll feel good or not. Some may be questioning if I have been to the doctor to see why things are still unknown. The answer is YES. I’ve gone to so many doctors, I can’t even remember the number anymore. Have I had tests done? YES. Again, the number of tests, blood work, etc., that has been done is beyond my recollection. How do I feel about all of this? In a word: FRUSTRATED.
Many of you see me as upbeat, happy and having a cheery deposition. While I would like to keep that impression alive, I would be lying if I said I didn’t get discouraged that I haven’t been able to lead a normal life since the accident. Going from being the girl who had at least 4-5 things going on weekly, on top of work, to having absolutely nothing on the calendar and working when I can, my life has made a 180 degree turn.
With a drastic change in life, I found myself in a deep, dark depression that I couldn’t seem to get out of. I can’t even begin to tell you how many days I had where I wondered why God let me make it through the accident. While the days of severe (and almost unbearable) pain are gone, I’m still reminded that my life isn’t what it used to be. Rarely am I able to drive further than a few miles from my house, standing in grocery stores for longer than 10 minutes is almost impossible and going to movies isn’t something I’m able to do anymore (Did you know it’s possible for your senses to get enhanced after something traumatic? I didn’t, until now either).
With so many dark, dark days and very few answers, I felt worthless. defeated and angry. I know for certain that during those days, MANY family members, friends and maybe even some blog readers were praying for me. One day, I wasn’t so discouraged and while it may have helped that I had some coffee in me, I know that God just wrapped His arms around me. I felt joy- something I hadn’t felt in ages. I also felt like I needed to DO something with myself.
Enter in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop…. One day in October 2013, I thought maybe I should pursue my dream of opening my own business. If only you could hear the inner battles I had in this brain of mine. The practical side of me was thinking this was a horrible idea (since many days I was still in bed), but then the crazy, spontaneous side of me said I should just give it a whirl. I did some research on what it would take to become a business and from there things snowballed into a launch.
So now that I actually have my business, how are things going on the health front? Well, I still have to take things day by day. Some days I feel unstoppable and almost feel like I have my old energy levels back. Then there are other days when I feel pretty crummy, bound to my bed and am reminded that I am still facing health issues and need to not push myself so hard.
What have I found to be true in all of this? My story is far from over. God has amazed me in how a tragic situation could turn into something beautiful. The people I have been able to reach out to, help and correspond with because of my story is beyond amazing. I have been able to relate with people with chronic pain, physical issues and other situations that I wouldn’t have been able to had I not been in this accident. Since I had to slow down and was home bound, this prompted the start of my business. Goodness knows I was far too busy before the accident to even think about this possibility. It’s also been neat to see how my business has been able to touch others and also inspired people in many different ways. Something HORRIBLE turned into something GOOD!
Speaking of good….I recently was interviewed for a crafting podcast and was able to share some of this story there. I also share some other tidbits of info- I’d love for you to listen in as I do a mini interview with Renee! Well, that’s going to do it for this update post. I want to give say a GIANT thank you to those who continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers, the lovely readers and customers who send cards and gifts and those of you who check in on me. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for you all. I’m so very thankful for YOU, my wonderful readers and blog friends.
I don’t know about you, but the weeks are flying by for me. I just looked at the calendar and realized that Easter is a mere five days away!
For today’s card, I used some the Teeny Heart Background and Happy Easter sentiment from DeNami, along with the Happy Easter set from Lawn Fawn. Oh yes and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins…but that’s pretty much a give in nowadays, right? *wink*
When you think of Easter, do you tend to think of pastel or bright colors? My initial thought is always pastel, but I have such a hard time using them and usually opt for brighter colors with a little pastel mixed in.
We all know I have sequin shakers on the brain lately. With a mere 11 days until the BIG Sequin Shaker Blog Hop, I thought it was time to bring a revamped video tutorial. Now if you’re anything like me, you might initially be intimidated or overwhelmed with the idea of a shaker. I promise, it really isn’t that hard! Take a look at the video and you can see for yourself….
In case you’re wondering what kind of sequin shaker you can create, here’s a few that I’ve made in the past. Honestly, you can create them for just about any occasion! Just type in “sequin shaker” into the search bar on my blog and you can see all of the ones I’ve done so far.
I hope that you ALL can participate in the blog hop on April 26th. If you missed the announcement, or want to look at the details again, CLICK HERE. Don’t forget, there are exclusive savings coupons in that post, too!
It’s time for the monthly DeNami Design blog hop and the theme this month is Buttons & Bows! A couple years back, buttons were SUPER trendy in card making. Nowadays, we don’t see them too often, but I still love to bring them out occasionally. Today I decided to bring them out in a different way….in stamp form!
I absolutely love the Small Solid Button and was excited to pull it out for the hop. It had been far too long since this poor stamp saw the light and now I’m wondering why I took it off my craft desk. It’s such a great image!
If you started the hop from the beginning, you should be arriving from Linda Carpenter’s blog. If you get lost along the way, head on over to the DeNami blog for the complete list of participants.
It had been a while since I had made a baby card and for some reason, I felt like making one in my recent crafting session. Now I have sequin shakers on my mind a lot lately (did you see my BLOG HOP announcement?!) and I thought this little ducks would look cute as a shaker. Does the sequins remind anyone else of bubbles?
*Pssst…..if you’re looking for an exclusive coupon code to DeNami, it’s in the announcement post. It’s a post packed full of info; you won’t want to miss it!
There are still several stops left in the hop….your next stop is my sweet friend, Stacey Schafer! She always has such fun ideas and I can’t wait to see what DeNami creation she has made for the hop today!
In closing, I want to let you all know that I have a new sequin shaker tutorial coming up in a day or two. If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel so you don’t miss it. See you back here on the blog soon!
It’s a happy day here at Pretty Pink Posh….not only am I planning some upcoming projects, but it’s also SUNNY and beautiful here in Seattle. There’s just something about the sunny weather that makes everything happier and makes me feel more productive. I really hope this weather sticks around for several weeks.
Today I have a sweet little spring card to share, along with a start to finish card video. After reading the responses on a recent video, I’m determined to bring more videos to the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel. I hope y’all are up for this change. If you have requests for specific videos, leave a comment in this post!
I love butterfly stamps (and dies) and with spring here, you can be sure I’ll be bringing lots of them to the blog. One of my favorite butterfly stamps is from the Fancy Flutters set by DeNami. Seriously, isn’t this image adorable?!
We all know I love my Femme Frames dies and recently I’ve become OBSESSED with making scalloped card bases. It adds a touch more interest to cards and really dresses them up.
If you’re curious on how to make this card from start-to-finish, enjoy this video. I tried to make it as short as possible (so I cut out the coloring part). If you would like to see my coloring in future videos, let me know and I won’t cut it out.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video. Be sure to leave a comment if you have requests for future videos, or you can let me know if you liked this one. Thanks for stopping in!
