Hi Everyone! It is Melody here with you today and I have a Fall Thank You card to share that also doubles as a gift card holder. A handmade card can make a gift card even more special!
I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock to fit the card front and stenciled with the Pumpkin Background Stencil and Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink. At the top I stamped the sentiment from the Pumpkin Patch Critters Stamp Set, one of my favorite fall stamp sets!
To create the gift card pocket I cut a piece of white cardstock, about half the size of the card front, and then die cut the top with the Pocket Border Die. To attach the pocket to the card front I used double stick tape on three sides, leaving the top open.
Today I have a fun Christmas scene card to share. The Christmas Friendsare enjoying decorating their tree for the holidays.
I began with the background, using one of my current favourite techniques – gel plate printing. On a 6×6 gel plate, I added distress oxide inks in the colours speckled egg, peacock feathers and chipped sapphire. I used a brayer to blend the colours together, then took a print using some smooth white card. I love the textured effect you get with gel printing.
I added the same colours to the gel plate again, this time layering the Snowflakes stencil over the top. As I want lighter coloured snowflakes on my background, I first need to take a print on another piece of card to remove the colour where the snowflakes show through the stencil. I can then remove the stencil from the gel plate and print again on my original card. This will add more colour to the card everywhere but where the snowflakes would be, leaving lighter coloured snowflakes on my background.
To add even more texture to the background, I layered the Snowflakes stencil over my panel, inked through it with a clear embossing ink, then heat embossed the snowflakes with WOW Sparkling Snow embossing glitter. I trimmed the panel down and adhered to my card base.
Next, I die cut the Storybook 5 die from pearlescent navy card, trimming down the card so I was left with a skinny frame. I repeated this with pearlescent white card, just keeping the frame inserts for this card. I adhered the navy frame and larger white insert onto my card.
On the smaller white frame insert, I stamped a greeting from the Holiday Greetings stamp set in clear embossing ink. I then embossed the image with WOW Metalline Dark Blue embossing powder, to compliment the background colours, before adhering to the card.
TheLayered Tree die set is one of my favourites for holiday cards. I die cut it from white card and added colour using twisted citron, mowed lawn and pine needles distress oxide inks for the tree, and frayed burlap and black soot distress oxide inks for the trunk. I adhered it to the card, then added some glitter card decorations using the smaller ornament dies from the set.
Next, I stamped some images from the Christmas Friends stamp setand coloured them with copic markers. I die cut them with the coordinating diesand adhered to my card with foam tape.
I gave them each a bauble for decorating the Christmas tree, then added some more baubles around the sentiment. I finished my card with some Pearl White jewels on the tree for extra Christmas sparkle.
I hope you enjoyed this installment of the Create A Scene series. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Friends! It is Dana here today and I am excited to be back on the PPP blog sharing a card with you all. For my card, I am using a fun mix of supplies from Pretty Pink Posh. Let’s get started, shall we?
I started my card by creating an alcohol ink background. I used a rainbow of pearl colors and yupo paper. The colors I used were Pearl Deception, Splendor, Alchemy, Envy, Tranquil and Villainous. I added the inks directly to a piece of felt (attached to a dauber), added a little blending solution and swiped it across my Yupo paper. Once my panel was dry I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Bold Butterflies Die. Don’t you just love this butterfly? It is so fun and I love all the possibilities with this type of die.
For my card layout, I splattered a white panel with a little black reinker. I then used the Scallop Border 1 Die to create the decorative edge at the bottom of my white panel. Next, I used a leftover piece of my alcohol ink paper for the bottom of the card. To finish my card, I stamped my sentiment from the Simple Sentiments Stamp Set and heat set it with white embossing powder. Lastly, I attached my butterfly and sentiment to my card panel with foam adhesive.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope I inspired you to pull out your alcohol inks and create some fun patterns for die cutting. Have a wonderful day.
I used my Fuse Tool from WRMK and created a large pocket for the larger leaf first. I left and opening and filled it with some sequins. I then fused the last section together and that created the pocket. I repeated this for the last two smaller leaves as well but instead of fusing together all four sides, I folded the sleeve over to create a folded edge for the side of the card and then proceeded to use the Fuse Tool on the other three sides.
I then adhered my sequin pockets on the back of the die cut panel and added foam tape around them all. I used the same Thanks Shaker Dieand cut it from some orange, black and white cardstock. I adhered down the orange layer on top and then the black and white for the words. Lastly, I adhered the entire panel onto a white card base.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I
hope you enjoyed, and I’ll see you all next time.
Hi everyone, Jane here today sharing this cute monochromatic Halloween card with you! This card uses vellum and pretty pink posh jewels to add some fun elements to the scene!
To start the card, I used a piece of black cardstock and spattered some white acrylic paint using an old paint brush. Next, I used the Nature Essentials die to cut the puffy clouds at the bottom of the panel. The background clouds are from the Fly A Kite stamp set and the moon is from the Halloween Friends stamp set. Black cardstock cut using the bat die from the halloween friends stamp set and glued to the background to create a shadow of a bat. A piece of vellum was layered over the background to soften the scene and make it appear foggy.
Next, I stamped the images from Trick or Treat Friends (batgirl) and Halloween Friends (bats) using black ink. Copic markers used for the bat girl are: N7, N5, N3, N1, Y19, Y21, YR30, E55, E53 and E50. White gel pen used for accents on the images. The images were cut using the coordinating dies and adhered to the card front. Next, I stamped a sentiment from trick or treat friends using black stazOn ink. Black jewels were added to the bottom layer to mimic gravel. Lastly, I added a black border cut using the Nature Essentials die and adhered the card front to a gray piece of A2 cardstock. The entire front of the card was then attached to a white card base and that completes the card!
Hi friends! Tammy here with you today! It’s finally starting to feel a bit like Fall here in the Southwest, so I was inspired to create a fun Fall card and tag project, using the adorablePumpkin Patch Critters Stamp Set.
Next, I cut a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock to 3 1/4 X 8 1/4″ and ink blended the background with Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw, and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks. I splattered some watered down gold acrylic paint onto my background to add some interest, then attached the background panel to a 3 1/2 X 8 1/2″ white cardstock base.
I stamped the sentiment from Pumpkin Patch Critters in black ink and arranged the die cut images onto my card to create a sweet Fall scene.
To create the shaker tag, I used the Stitched Banner Duo 1 Dies, and cut it twice from Copic friendly white cardstock. I ink blended one panel with Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw , and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks, and die cut a square on the other banner to create a window. I stamped the sentiment from Pumpkin Patch Critters, then I added acetate, foam tape, and 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins to create my shaker tag. I attached my critter and pumpkins to the tag, punched a hole, and threaded some orange and white bakers twine to complete my tag. This would be so cute attached to a coffee cup, filled with Pumpkin Spice everything! I’m making a bunch of these to send to my favorite college students!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and were inspired to create some Fall projects!
Hello! Leica here. Today I am sharing a box card using older stamp sets that I have combined together to make this adorably haunting Halloween card.
To start, I created the Lawn Fawn pop-up box as directed, in black 80lb cardstock. Next, I die cut panels for the box, using papers from Doodlebug Candy Carnival collection. For the box inserts, I used a grass die cut in black cardstock.
Next, I stamped images onto 110lb cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and cut with their coordinating dies. The cat and pumpkins are from the Halloween Pals stamp set. The bat, skeleton head, and candies are from the Boo stamp set. The little candies and pumpkin treat bag is from the Halloween Friends stamp set.
I used the following Copic markers: N9/7/5, YR04/02/00, V17/15/12, YG23/13. The fun part is creating the scene. Some of the elements are adhered directly onto the inserts and some are foam mounted to add dimension to the scene.
Next, I stamped the “Happy Halloween” sentiment from the Halloween Pals stamp set onto a white rectangular cardstock and foam mounted on the front flap of the box card. Lastly, I added Glossy Black Jewels to add texture to the card.
Thank you so much for visiting the blog today and I hope you are inspired to create and send Halloween cards to your friends and loved ones this year. Stay safe and healthy!
Today I thought I’d share a watercolour floral scene card. Pretty Pink Posh has some amazing floral stamp sets and it’s easy to use to use masking to stamp a beautiful one-layer scene to colour. Sunflowers are a favourite of mine – the colours are just perfect for the season.
I began by cutting a panel of watercolour card. I use an economy card when I watercolour. As a beginner, I just want to have fun without worrying that I might waste expensive card on mistakes. The card I use is 300gsm cold pressed surface card, and I use the smooth side.
To stamp my scene, I used Antique Linen distress oxide ink. I began with the largest sunflower from theSunflowers stamp set, then created a mask using a full post-it note. I covered the sunflower with the mask, then stamped a second sunflower to the side of that.
I continued creating my scene, masking the second sunflower, then stamping some leaves from the same set. To add some variety, I also stamped some leaves and berries from the Autumn Wreath stamp set.
I used the Altenew Artists Watercolour pan set to paint my images. I began with a light colour wash, allowing it to air dry fully, then building up layers of stronger colour. I like to take my time, gradually adding more layers of colour, and enjoying the relaxing process of watercolour.
Once I’d finished with the watercolour and the panel was dry, I added some finer details with my Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, along with some white gel pen highlights on the berries.
I love the add splatter on my watercolour cards for more texture. I mixed some perfect pearls with water and used a small paintbrush to flick the panel.
I trimmed the panel down, then adhered a frame around the edge, cut from brown pearlescent card using the Nature Essentials die. In the corner of the scene, I heat embossed in gold a sentiment from the Birthday Friends stamp set.
I thought a kraft card base would work well with the colours in the scene, and I finished my card with some Espresso jewelsto compliment the colour of the frame.
Thanks for visiting today! I hope I inspired you to create some floral scenes.
Hi friends! I have a fun Halloween Card to share today. My card features the adorable witch kitty from the Halloween Pals Stamp set, brewing up some Halloween fun, with a cauldron made from the Window Frames Dies.
To begin, I cut an A2 rectangle from Bristol smooth cardstock and ink blended the background with Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I then splattered the background with black and white acrylic paint to create some interest. Next, using the largest die from the Window Frames Dies, I cut out a window from the purple background. I cut a second A2 rectangle and ink blended it with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. Next, I placed a piece of acetate on the backside of the purple background, covering the window opening. I then attached foam tape (making sure to outline the cauldron shape with foam tape) to the background. I added some sequins from the Holiday Shimmer Sequins Mixto the opening before sealing it closed. To create the black frame for the cauldron, I first die cut black cardstock with the largest Window Frames Die, then placed the smaller size onto it and die cut it again to create a frame. Next, I added some small ink blended circles to make the cauldron bubbles.
I heat embossed the sentiment from Halloween Pals with white embossing powder before attaching the stamped images to my card. To complete my card, I added some green jewels from the Boo Jewels Mix, which add just the perfect amount of sparkle!
Hello everyone! Mayra here with you today. Happy October! I am back with another card using one of the wonderful stencils available from Pretty Pink Posh. For my card today, I used the lovely Pumpkin Background Stencil. It is perfect for creating Autumn themed cards.
I began by picking the Distress Oxide Colors I would be using. I chose Wild Honey , Worn Lipstick , and Seedless Preserves. I then die cut a panel for my card using white cardstock and the stitched rectangle from the Stitched Notes die set. Next, I added a bit of adhesive to the back of the die-cut rectangle and glued it to down in order for it not to move around while I add the colors. I also added a bit of Post-It tape to hold the stencil in place. I would still like to try out the ICraft Pixie Spray, it is on my wish list, lol. I think it may help with keeping the stencil in place a bit more than the Post-It tape.
I then began adding the colors over the cardstock and stencil. I started with Wild Honey, then Worn Lipstick, and then Seedless Preserves. You can do this several times until you build up to the color intensity that you like. I decided to add a bit of Wilted Violet over the area where I used Seedless Preserves. I also added a bit of Rusty Hinge to the areas with Wild Honey.
Once the stenciling was finished, I remove the stencil (my favorite part is seeing the way it turns out). I then turned this panel into what would be a shaker card by using the Thanks Leaf Shaker die to die cut the leaf into the panel. I also used this die to die cut another layer from a piece of cardstock that had the same colors I used on the stenciled background. I made that one into a card as well. Next, I added the acetate, foam tape, and the beautiful 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins to create the shaker part of the card. I used the Simple Sentiments stamp set to add a sentiment to each of the cards.
I hope you enjoy the cards I created to share with you today. Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by. I hope you each have a wonderful and blessed day.
