Sneak Peek: Spring Birdhouses

Hi folks, Kavya here with some more inspiration  for this month’s release! I love curating unique stamp sets and this release is filled with one of a kind products that can be used all year long! For today’s card, I will using the new Spring Birdhouses stamp set and A Little Birdie stamp set.

New release will be available May 1st

Sneak Peek: Spring Birdhouses

I started off by ink blending pale blue cardstock with Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feather distress oxide inks. For the grass, I used a generic grass die and ink blended the edges with Pine Feather distress oxide ink.

As always, I splattered them with water and lint to make it more dramatic. Then, I stamped and colored a bunch of images from A Little Birdie and Spring Birdhouses stamp sets. Added a sentiment from Potted Roses and I was done!

Come back tomorrow for another sneak peek of the new May 1st release. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting, Kavya

Sneak Peek: A Little Birdie

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am so excited to be sharing a little peek at the new A Little Birdie stamp set and coordinating dies! The new 3×4 stamp set has the cutest birds so you can add robins, blue jays and more to your spring cards. It coordinates so well with other musical and birdhouse products from this release, too!

New release will be available May 1st

I started with stenciling my birdhouse background on white cardstock with the Layered Birdhouses stencils. I used the A stencil with Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy, Squeezed Lemonade, Salvaged Patina and Tumbled Glass. Next I used the B and D stencils with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, Evergreen Bough and Mermaid Lagoon. Finally, I used the C stencil with Pearl White Stardust Butter from The Crafter’s Workshop.

While the background was drying, I cut a birdhouse from the Decorative Birdhouses die set from a light yellow cardstock as well as the scallop details and archway from pink sparkle cardstock. I added some Mustard Seed Distress Ink to darken the color of the birdhouse and used Ohuhu Art Markers in teal colors to color in the leaves to match the teal birdhouses I stenciled. I assembled the bird house together and I just love the stitched details!

From the A Little Birdie stamp set, I stamped two birds and a little branch in alcohol marker friendly black ink. Using Ohuhu Art Markers, I colored them in and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Once my background was dry, I trimmed it down to 4 x 5-1/4″ and layered it with blue cardstock onto an A2 card base. I added the birdhouse towards the center of the card with foam adhesive, leaving room for the “You’re The Tweetest” sentiment beneath.

Finally, I added my stamped images and different colors from the Rainbow Shimmer Confetti around the card as well as a few on the bird house. I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek; you’re going to love the rest of the release!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 7

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hello, it’s Rebecca here on the blog. The Pretty Pink Posh Streamers Stencils is a pack of two stencils that layer to create the look of twisted party streamers. They are so easy to use and line up and create a fun, celebratory background! One of my favorite things about this stencil set, is that you can use them in so many different ways for different effects!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

You can use a different color of ink for each of the two stencils creating a bicolor effect. Try using different amounts of ink to create everything from a light background to a more opaque effect.

Or try using a different color on each line of both stencils. One fun way to do this is to create rainbow streamers!

You can add loose glitter to some parts of the streamers too. After you add ink to the second stencil, add some type of medium like paste. After removing the stencil, add loose glitter on top.

These stencils work beautifully with two layers of Lunar Paste too. Simply wait for the first layer to completely dry before adding the second.

Or you can simply use two shades or hues of the same color of ink on each stencil to create a dimensional look.

Once you have all your stenciling done, you have enough backgrounds to create a whole bunch of cards and there are fun ways to use too! You can simply cut the stenciled background down to 4×5.25” to matte on specialty cardstock. Or you can use a nested die set like the Wonky Stitched Rectangles to cut out several pieces of the background and use different levels of foam tape to pop them up! Even though it is a 6×6 stencil set, you can still cut the background down to a mini slimline card or try using the streamers running horizontally on the card rather than vertically!

These cards can be finished off with images and sentiments like the Birthday Balloons Stamp and Die Set, Large Celebrate Shadow Die, Birthday Mug Additions Dies, or the Birthday Signs Stamp Set and Dies. These are great for birthdays or other fun celebrations!

Isn’t it amazing that just two simple, easy to line up stencils can be used in so many different ways? All these different looks make this stencil set more than worth every penny!

Thanks for stopping by! We hope you were inspired by this stencil theme week and were able to get some stencils at a discount!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 6

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hi friends! Hope you are enjoying Stencil Theme Week! It’s Stefanie here today and I’m sharing a colorful card using the Layered Clouds Stencils. I think it could definitely cheer up someone’s day!

To create the background, I did a rainbow blend of each stencil on an A2 size cardstock. I used distress oxides in Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, and Worn Lipstick. Then I used some water droplets to lift some ink for interest and added some white “splatter” using a white gel pen. I trimmed down the background to a slightly smaller size than A2 and stamped a sentiment in the bottom right from the Easter Sentiments Stamp Set.

Next I used the recently released Umbrella Shaker Dies to create the umbrella shaker. I die cut the top of the umbrella 5 times, then used scissors to remove the middle umbrella lines from 4 of the die cuts because I eventually wanted the confetti to traverse across all compartments. I glued the 4 die cuts together, added a piece of acetate over the top, then added the final unaltered umbrella top.

The stem is only 1 layer and the handle is 2. I glued the umbrella together on the card and used Birthday Cake Clay Confetti for the shaker bits.

Finally I adhered the background onto a white card base using foam tape for dimension and the card was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like my card!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 5

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hello crafty friends! It’s Leica here today with a square-shaped birthday shaker card. I tend to make birthday cards for girls, so this time I challenged myself to make a card with a gender neutral color palette.

To start, I cut a 5” square white cardstock and inked through the A layer of the Layered Party Hats Stencils with Dried Marigold, Salvaged Patina, Tumbled Glass, and Twisted Citron. For the B layer, I used the same inks for a tone on tone look. For the C layer, I used Color Box gold ink and finally for the last layer, I used Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink.

For the shaker bits, I cut the confetti dies from the Fancy Cake Die in various colors of cardstock. I love that I can now customize the shaker elements inside the shaker card with this new die. Next, I cut a square frame in teal cardstock, glued acetate, and added foam tape.

I cut the Wish Big Script in gold cardstock, added white highlights, and glued it onto the acetate. I then stamped a sub sentiment in a strip of yellow cardstock and glued it under the script sentiment. Lastly, I closed the shaker card and glued the card panel onto a 5” square card base.

I love all the PPP clay confetti for my shaker cards, but I love that I can use the confetti die to make shaker bits  in color combinations of my choice. I know that you will love it too!

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hi friends! It’s Zsofia here today and I am sharing a fun almost one layer card with the cutest stencil set ever: Layered Dinosaurs. If I had to choose one type of crafty supply as my favourite, I would definitely choose stencils. They are super versatile and easy to use (even my kids love them). Today I will show you how you can make a cute birthday-boy card with selective inking.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

As the base I used Neenah Solar white cardstock and I cut it down to be 4,25*5,5 inches. I placed them on my silicone mat (it helps to hold the cardstock in place) and placed the first layer of the stencil over it. I chose light Distress Oxide colours: Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, Milled Lavender and Broken China. I like to use smaller blending brushes which allow me to do selective inking. If you have bigger brushes or other blending tools, you can always mask around the area you are working on to avoid the colours mixing. Any Post-it or masking tape would do!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

For the second layer I used darker shades of Distress Oxide inks: Mowed Lawn, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers. I simply used a white gel pen for the teeth and horns, so fun to use the stencil as a guide!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

For the last layer I used Hickory Smoke and Black Sooth Distress Oxide inks, to complete the scene. After removing the last layer, I used a white gel pen to add highlights and emphasized the eyes of the dinos with a black glaze pen.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

For the sentiment I chose the Birthday Sentiment stamp set and stamped it directly on the stencilled image with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

As I am a big fan of dimension on my cards, I could not resist adding a pretty aqua frame and a shiny balloon. The frame I cut with the Fancy Cake die set, the balloon with the Birthday Mug Addition die set from silver glitter cardstock. I embellished it with some Midnight Black jewels and popped it up with 3D foam squares. I used a black fineliner to draw the strings, so it looks like the Triceratops is holding it! Cute isn’t it?

Stencil Theme Week- Day 4

I wish you liked my card and got inspired to do some selective inking. Make sure you come back in the coming days to see all the amazing stencil inspirations from the design team.

Thank you for stopping by,
Zsofia

Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hi friends, it’s Gemma here today. I love the layered stencils from Pretty Pink Posh. They make such fabulous backgrounds and are so easy to use.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

I’m using the Layered Birthday Cakes stencil set on my card today. There are 4 layers in this stencil set and I used distress oxides to blend each layer:

Layer A: Antique Linen Layer B: Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, Dusty Concord, Kitsch Flamingo Layer C: Lost Shadow Layer D: Squeezed Lemonade

Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

I trimmed the panel down and adhered to an A2 top folding card base.

Next, I stamped and copic coloured a cake from the Birthday Signs stamp set. I stamped a sentiment in the centre, also from the same stamp set. I die cut the image out with the coordinating die, adding two more layers behind for dimension.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 3

To help the cake show up on the stencilled background, I die cut a scalloped circle from pearl white sparkle card. This circle is from the Valentine Circles coordinating die set. I adhered the circle, followed by the cake, onto the card to finish.

Copic colours: E30-31; N0-N1; Y13; RV13 RV21

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you were inspired to create with your PPP stencils!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 2

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am so excited to be back on the Pretty Pink Posh blog! Today I’m sharing two Mother’s Day card ideas using stenciled backgrounds for Pretty Pink Posh’s Stencil Week – of course you can change the sentiments to use for any occasion.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started with stenciling my backgrounds so they have plenty of time to dry. Using the Layered Sunflowers Stencils, I used Distress Oxides in Mustard Seed, Vintage Photo and Mowed Lawn to add color through the B, C and D stencils. Then using the A stencil, I added yellow stencil paste to add shine and dimension to the background. The second background was with the Layered Butterflies Stencils and I used the A and C stencils with more Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet. Then I added some clear sparkle stencil paste through the B stencil to add the details to the butterflies.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 2

Then I worked on the sentiments for my card by hot foiling the Large Mom/Mother Foil Plates with Blush and Bright Pink foils. I used the Mom/Mother Shadow Dies to cut them out as they coordinate perfectly. After die cutting a label from Easter Sentiments Coordinating Dies out of green cardstock, I embossed the “Thanks for all you do” sentiment from the Mom Stamp Set in gold embossing powder. I also embossed the same sentiment on purple cardstock with white embossing powder and trimmed around the sentiment to make a strip.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 2

For the images on the card, I die cut the Butterfly Shaker Die out of pink cardstock and added Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink to add color. I also stamped and die cut butterflies from the Mom Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies, and flowers from the Potted Sunflowers Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies. Using Ohuhu Art Markers, I colored in the images to match the colors of the stenciled backgrounds.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 2

I assembled the cards by adding my stenciled backgrounds that were trimmed to 4×5-1/4″ on A2 card bases with tape runner, the label and butterfly die cut were adhered with foam adhesive, and finally glued the sentiments and images with adhesive.

I hope you’re inspired with these stenciled Mother’s Day cards and you make some for yourself!

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

**All items in the stencil section are 15% off during theme week**

Hello friends! Welcome to Stencil Week, my favorite week of all! This is Mindy and I’m excited to share my project with you today featuring white pigment ink and kraft cardstock (and stencils of course!)

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

I have a video sharing this process that you can view down below or HERE on the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

White pigment ink on kraft cardstock is such a fun and unique look. I’m starting with the Falling Branches stencil and applying White pigment ink using a dome blending tool. I want to make sure I’m getting really good coverage with the white ink.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

After I remove the stencil, I’m going to clean it and then position back over the card front, lining up the images.

I’m going to apply a light green ink over the stencil with a blending brush. Be sure to watch the video for all the tips I share when applying ink over white pigment ink.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

Before removing the stencil, I’m going to apply a darker green to give the branches some shading and highlight areas.

For a little interest and fun, I’m adding splatters with white paint and also a mix of water and dark green ink.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

After the panel is dry, I’m going to frame the design with a white Scallop Frame popped up with foam strips.

My sentiment comes from the Simple Sentiments stamp set and is heat embossed in white embossing powder with a coordinating color of green cardstock to match my background. After trimming this down to a thin strip, I can add it to my card front by slightly overlapping the white frame.

Stencil Theme Week- Day 1

For an embellishment, I’m adding three white flowers die cut from the Spring Foliage set and dropping in Lemon Drop Jewels in the center.

A very simple card with a fun technique and delicate look. Hope you give this a try! Thanks for joining me today and enjoy all the inspiration this week!

Birthday Mug Additions- Without a Mug?!

Hi there, it’s Gemma here and today I have a card to share featuring the Birthday Mug Additions die set. I love that the elements in these addition sets can be used with or without the mug.

Birthday Mug Additions- Without a Mug?!

I began by die cutting the cake, candle, hat and balloon from different card stock colours. I then assembled all the pieces, adhering them with liquid glue.

Birthday Mug Additions- Without a Mug?!

Next, I arranged the die cuts across an A2 card base. Once I was happy with the positions, I used some Press n Seal to keep them in place.

Birthday Mug Additions- Without a Mug?!

A few at a time, I lifted up the press n seal and added liquid glue behind the die cuts, before laying them back down and adhering to the card base.

Birthday Mug Additions- Without a Mug?!

As this is a busy background, I went for a Simple Sentiments stamp set greeting, stamped on white card and trimmed to a thin strip. I adhered it to the card with foam tape to finish.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you were inspired by this card idea!
