It’s been quite a while since I posted…things have been a tad bit crazy. Still trying to plug away on CHA display things, plus I’m helping gear up for the Fall/ Winter release DeNami is having. Lots of fun stuff, just takes up quite a bit of time!
Today I have a sweet birthday card to share that I created a while back. Honestly, I think I post only 1/2 of what I create. I just can’t seem to find enough time to craft AND photograph/ blog about everything I make. *sigh*
In May, I have a ton of friends birthday’s, so one of my sweet friends will be getting this card. Also, with it being spring, these colors will be perfect!
For this card I pulled out a few of my favorite DeNami Design stamps. These are the stamps used:
I wanted to pop in with the card that I created for the Colour Q Challenge #81. How yummy are these pretty colors? They are perfect for Easter, but they also work for other occasions as well. You know me, I can’t be traditional, so I went for a birthday card this time around. (Lots of friends have birthday’s in the next month, so you’ll be seeing lots coming soon!) :)
Here’s the color swatches and card…
I stamped the DeNami Design Small Solid Button in three different inks- doesn’t it make a great background? If you’re obsessed with buttons like I am, this stamp definitely is a must have! For the sentiment, I used the Sweet Friend Birthday, also from DeNami Design.
Pretty simple card, but I really love the way it turned out. Well, girls, that’s all for this post. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me some blog love. *wink*
Sorry I’ve been MIA….I’ve been super busy working on cards for the DeNami CHA SuperShow display. Granted, I’m not doing all new boards (just a few), but in between working and working out, I don’t have too much time. Isn’t it crazy how quickly your day can fill up?
In between all THOSE cards, I also want to make sure I make cards for fun. That usually seems to get my creativity flowing. So…for today’s card, I brought out a Lawn Fawn set that I had purchased about a month ago. Sadly, this was the FIRST time I even played with it! When I ordered the Critters in the Forest set, I also got the Smitty’s ABC’s and also a pack of patterned paper. Yup, you read that right- I actually bought some PP! I loved these patterns, so I couldn’t resist getting the small pack. :)
Did you notice that poloroid stamp? I used the super cute Wilson Designs Everything’s Owlright set. You know me, I like to mix and match companies. :)
I’m entering this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #8– glad I was able to play along this time! I wanted SO badly to play along last week, but obviously that didn’t happen.
Going to make this a pretty short post….I’ve been sick and not all that up for being super chatty. Plus, you really just want to see a card, right? ;)
A few weeks back I played around with Gnomebody Like You a ton. I REALLY like the cute mushrooms in this set, so I decided to create a card highlighting them. Oh yeah, I also wanted to color them in bright, happy colors….brown would be just too boring!
Here’s what I came up with:
Did you notice the circle background? I used an image from Everything’s Owlright for that!
Be sure to head on over to Kim’s website and pick up these sets. She JUST got Gnomebody Like You back in stock, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it sold out again soon. It’s super duper cute!
Today I have three (yup, THREE) DeNami cards to share with you. Each of them features one of my favorite stamps from the new release- the Rainbow! This image can be used in so many colors and then of course, there’s the option to bling it out! :)
Here’s my first card….
I was so inspired by the new Confetti Cardstock Sampler, I created a card with the colors! Granted, it doesn’t follow the true colors of a rainbow, but they sure are pretty! :) Also, did you happen to notice that it’s a glittery rainbow? Even MORE fun! Here’s the list of stamps used on this card:
This next card is SUPER simple, but I just love how it turned out! Remember, you don’t have to use just the “hello” sentiment- you can use many of the other Petit Four sentiments. Click here to view all of them.
This time around I decided to bling it out with rhinestones. Even a simple card can be blinged out! Only three stamps needed for this one….here they are…
On this one, I decided to create a little scene. I had some run rays, so I made it look like the sun was shining behind the rainbow. Then at the bottom I used a Martha Stewart border punch (which I bought from a fellow blogger). I don’t get to use it often, but when I do, I always enjoy it. :)
I hope you were inspired by today’s post! My sweet blog friend (and DeNami DT member) Wendy also has a rainbow card to share with you all today. It’s such a cute one too! Be sure to head on over to her blog!
Have a great rest of your day!
Just a quick reminder: tomorrow is the LAST day to enter my giveaway. Remember, I’ll be giving away TWO sets of buttons if I can get 200 comments, so be sure to tell your friends! Click here to enter the giveaway.
Oh goodness, this weekend has been full of super sweet comments. Thank you all SO much. With my iPhone, I’m able to read my comments as they come in. It was so nice to read some while I was working out, then when I was stamping. I am so blessed with such amazing blog readers. :)
My blog friend, Laura, recently put a sketch up on her blog. I used to play along with her while she was co-hosting 2 Sketches 4 You a while back. I was so happy to see she designed a new sketch; she always has great ones.
Here is my take on it…..
I pulled out my beloved WPlus9 sets for this card. For the background and the butterflies I used Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions. Then for the “friend” sentiment I used the new A Special Lady set.
Hope this card brought some sunshine into your morning. Have a great rest of your day!!
It’s that time again….it’s time for the April DeNami Blog Hop! If you started from the beginning, you should be coming from Andrea’s blog. If you get lost along the way, or didn’t get to start from the beginning, head on over to the DeNami blog. :)
For those new to my blog, or DeNami, I have the privilege of coordinating the blog hops and challenges. Each month, I try my best to chose new, creative themes, but also ones that many people can join along with. This month I decided on a monochromatic theme.
I must say, it seemed like a good idea at first. However, when it came along to creating my card, I struggled….BIG TIME. Yes, that’s right, even the person who decides the theme sometimes doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing. LOL After playing around quite a bit, I finally came to a card that I liked.
Here’s my card:
Usually, when I’m creating freely (with my choice of stamps), I go through all my drawers and see what stamps catches my eye. Yes, this sounds silly, but it’s honestly what I do. This time around, it was the Wavy Stem Trio, Thanks (from the Everyday Greetings stamp set) and the Small Solid Button.
I’m sure you’re dying to get back to the hop. (Sorry for the longer post this time around) The next stop on the hop is Lisa Petrella’s blog! Lisa always has great things to share- can’t wait to see what she created this time around!
In closing, I just want to mention that I have a giveaway for some yummy DeNami buttons. Once you finish the blog hop, I’d love for you to come back and enter. YOU, too, can create fun cards with some yummy buttons!
I just wanted to pop in with a card for the super fun Colour Q Challenge #79. Boy, am I glad I had a teeny bit of free time- I’ve missed playing along in these challenges!
For this card, I pulled out my Wilson Designs Nauti-Cool set. (Currentlly sold out, but Kim has more coming!) I was lucky enough to be the first to purchase her new set last month, so I got this set for free. How awesome is that?! I thought this set worked really well with the colors in the challenge…..
Kept it SUPER simple for this card- really wanted the sail boat and sentiment to be highlighted. I was excited to pair up the birds from Practicing Creativity and the waves from Lawn Fawn on this card. Gotta love when you have versatile stamps where you can mix and match easily!
Thanks for stopping by. I will be back tomorrow for a GIVEAWAY. I figured it’s been a while since I hosted one, and thanks to my Twitter friends, figured out something that many people wanted. :) See you later….
Today I have a card that I’ve been waiting to share…it’s one of my current favorites. (Note the word current- my “favorites” are always changing!) This card was sadly a reject for a publication call.
For the background, I used the DeNami Polka Dot Elephant. When I first saw this image, I was baffled as to how I would use it. Now, I’m obsessed with him! :)
You all know I’m totally addicted to the DeNami Brown Kraft cardstock. I haven’t ever tried any other brand- why mess with a good thing?! One of my favorite things about kraft: it coordinates with just about everything!
Here you can see that I paper pieced the G152 Elephant. I thought it’d be fun to have the sentiment look like it was coming out from his trunk, so I grabbed one of my acrylic stamps and made it wavy. (The thinking of you is from Kind Deeds by Clear & Simple stamps)
Did you all see that the new DeNami Theme Challenge #6 started today? This time around the theme is BOY. The design team ROCKED it- be sure to head over to the DeNami blog to see the samples and to get the details!
Have a great rest of your Monday! I’ll talk with you all soon!
Thank you all SO much for the super kind words regarding my guest designer spot over at WPlus9. I honestly had a blast working with Dawn and her team- sad to see that it’s over already! With how much I adore these new sets, you can bet I’ll be posting more creations with Filigreed Framesand A Special Lady.
I’m going to change spectrums completely….going from elegant to cute, here is a card featuring Gnomebody Like You from Wilson Designs. (This set is currently sold out, but will be back in stock soon!)
My (little) brother recently turned 13, so I wanted to create a cute, but semi boyish card. I thought this little gnome was cute and thought Bry would get a kick out of him.
I created a little scene on the Spellbinder shape- love that grass image with those cute mushrooms! Also, how can you not smile when you see this little guy?!
Hope you have a great weekend! I’m going to be super busy working on cards for the new DeNami CHA SuperShow display. Yup, that’s right, I’ll be in Chicago again this Summer. Let me know if you’ll be there- I want to keep track of who I get to meet! :)
