DeNami Summer Blog Hop

Hi there!
It’s time for the DeNami Summer Blog Hop! I’ve been excited about this one all month- there is something so fun about creating a Summer inspired card/ project. I just love the bright colors that are associated with Summer. *This just might be a hint as to next month’s theme*
If you started the blog hop from the beginning, you should be coming from Tina Milbourn’s blog. Oh goodness, isn’t this girl a hoot? I just love her. If you are coming into the hop mid-way, you can always head on over to the DeNami blog for the complete list of participants.

Okay, now onto my card. For this one, I decided to go the route of creating a mini Summer inspired scene. Granted, while I have never surfed before, I imagine it looking something like this on the beach. :)
Bright, bold colors and touches of glitter= perfection! I am utterly in love with our amazing glitters. If you haven’t checked them out before, or if you need to add to your glitter collection, click here.

I’m going to wrap up this post since there are still spots left in the hop. Your next stop: Tenia’s blog!
Just a little reminder: be sure to leave comments on each stop- you just never know where the winners will be chosen! Also, it TOTALLY brightens up our days when we receive sweet comments. :)
Have fun on the rest of the hop!

DeNami Halloween Sneak Peek

Good morning!
Ooooh…..are you as excited about this new DeNami release as I am? The past few days I’ve been doing sneak peeks posts (Sneak Peek Day #1 and Sneak Peek Day #2) on the DeNami blog. I have thoroughly enjoyed hearing what stamps will be making their way into your shopping carts. Sounds like there is a wide range of favorites, which is fantastic!
Today I have the joy of bringing you a few of the cards I’ve created- this time using the new Halloween stamps! While I’ve enjoyed stamping will all of the new designs, there’s just something about these ones that make me extra happy. Let’s jump right into the cards, shall we?
You all know I’m a big fan of pinks and greens, so it was a welcome change to mix it up with these colors. For my focal point I used the new Halloween Chickies and paired it up with two of the borders from the Decorative Borders set
To create this look: I cut four cardstock pieces, stamped on them, then adhered them to another cardstock. This ensures that they all stay together and the panel is extra sturdy.

To finish off this card, I did some paper piercing, added our delightful Citrone glitter and then twine from our Classic Twine assortment. Super easy elements to add that really bring a card together.

*Halloween Chickies available on July 1st.
This Halloween card is one of the first ones I created when I played with the new designs. There is something about the Halloween Kitty that is so appealing. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s a bold image and I don’t usually use them? Or it might be the fact that I’m not a fan of cats in real life, so I “love” them on cards instead. Whatever the case may be, this was a fun stamp to use.

On this card I pulled out the new Halloween Fence in addition to the Halloween stamp set and the Teeny Star. Did you happen to notice the great ink pad colors? They are all from the fabulous Tsukineko Versafine collection. I used the Onyx Black, Spanish Moss, Habanero and Imperial Purple. Love these ink pads!
*Halloween Kitty and Halloween Fence available on July 1st. Green cardstock not carried by DeNami
Okay, now onto the SUPER fun part. There are giveaways for this collection! Leave a comment on my blog, in addition to Dana and Kanani’s blog, and a lucky winner will be randomly picked to win this collection of stamps. On top of that, there are FIVE chances to win over on the DeNami blog.
I hope you enjoyed these Halloween cards. Thanks for visiting my blog, and good luck on the giveaways!

Retro Sketches #13

Good morning!
Just popping in really quickly with my take on the latest Retro Sketches #13. I just love these sketches! They aren’t too fussy, which is perfect for me. I like sketches where it leaves some “wiggle” room and doesn’t have lots of elements.
Here’s my card….
I decided to rotate my card this time around. Pulled out my well loved Whimsical Flowers set and went to town. {This card also works with the current DeNami Addict Challenge #1, which is a garden theme!}

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time….

Birthday Flowers

Hello!
Recently I have had some extra time to do some “fun” crafting, which is SUPER rare for me. Most of the things I create are for work, so by the end of the week, I don’t often have energy to create things “just because”. A few days ago I needed to create a lot of things, but was stuck in a rut. After sitting for a while (with an empty craft desk), I finally decided to create something that wasn’t on my “to-do list”.  Imagine my surprise when doing this prompted all sorts of creativity that was carried out into my required projects.
Here is what I created, which also fits into the awesome DeNami Addict Challenge #1. If you plan on creating anything garden related, you can link it up there! I’m also linking this to the Simon Says Stamp: Clean and Simple challenge.

I’m in LOVE with the Flower Box Window. There is just something about it that is so fun AND I’ve never seen another stamp like it before. For those in the city, I could picture these little boxes as a “garden”, since space would be limited.

That’s all for this post. Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out the two challenges I mentioned above!

DeNami Pastels Blog Hop

Good morning!
It’s time for the DeNami May Blog Hop! I was sad I wasn’t able to participate in the last one, so I made sure I found a bit of time to play along in this one. After all, pastels are so fun to play with!
If you’ve started from the beginning, you should be coming from Rochelle Washington’s blog. However, if you started here, that’s okay too! Just be sure to visit the DeNami blog so you can see the complete listing of blogs.

With the theme being pastels, I immediately thought of flowers. It’s Spring and I’m obsessed with the Spring Flowers I set- it was meant to be. :) A while back I purchased the Martha Stewart picket fence border punch and knew that I had to use it on this card. Isn’t it a fun one?
I needed a subtle background, so I brought out my Modern Borders set and used the argyle image. Definitely can’t live without this set- it has argyle AND chevron in one set?!

It’s off to the next stop on the hop: Jennifer’s blog! Remember to leave a comment on each stop for your highest chance of winning one of the DeNami gift certificates!

Thanks so much for hopping along- I hope you were inspired by my card.

DeNami Addict Challenge #1

Hello and Happy Monday!
Oh, I am just so excited about this post. A while back, our friend Wendy started a blog called “Confessions of A DeNami Addict“. I was beyond floored that someone would have a blog dedicated to their love of our company!  Shortly after, Wendy introduced Tina to the world of DeNami and she has quickly become an avid DeNami collector.
These lovely gals have done such a fabulous job of maintaining their blog. I always like peeking over there to see what new creations they made. Well, I’m excited to say that they are starting to do challenges now! TODAY being their very first one! Tina was gracious enough to let me join in on the fun- here’s what I came up with.
Since the weather has been SO nice and sunny, I just had to bring out some bright colored flowers. To top it off, they have glitter on them, which makes them even better. :)

I hope you’ll join along in the first DeNami Addict challenge. DeNami stamps aren’t required to play along, though you can use them if you have some! I know Tina & Wendy are looking forward to seeing your creations, and I’ll definitely be peeking in to look at them too.
Have a GREAT rest of your Monday. Thanks for stopping in!

Retro Sketches #11

*If you’re looking for the DeNami/ The Twinery Blog Hop post, click here
Hello!
I am so excited that I’m able to play along with the Retro Sketch #11.  I’ve been following this challenge since the beginning, but I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had a chance to join along in the fun. Since I had a little bit of time to create a card, I couldn’t help but create a card based off of this awesome sketch.
Here’s my take on this sketch:

With tomorrow being Mother’s Day, I needed to create a card for my special mom. Since there are five of us kids, I thought it was appropriate to put five birdhouses on the card. :)
If you’re a mom, I hope you have a very special Mother’s Day tomorrow. Thank you so much for stopping by- I hope you were inspired by this card.

DeNami & The Twinery Blog Hop

Hi there!
I have a fun post to share with you all. I’m excited and proud to announce that DeNami Design & The Twinery have teamed up today for a blog hop! Each of the girls will be featuring both companies on their projects, so it’s bound to be a hop full of lovely inspiration.
If you have started the hop from the beginning, you should be coming from Jessica Fick’s blog. Don’t worry, if you get lost along the way, you can visit the DeNami blog for the complete listing of participants.
Okay, now onto my card…..

With graduation season upon us, I’ve been needing a few grad cards. I wanted to stick with a fairly simple layout, since those are the easiest when it comes to mass producing.

One of my favorite things about The Twinery twine: it’s so versatile and comes in lots of amazing colors! I chose to use twine today to break up my sentiment from the main images. It’s more delicate than ribbon and it also bring the card together. Win-win!
No great blog hop is complete without a prize. Well, there are TWO up for grabs! If you leave comments one each of the blogs featured, you have the highest chance of winning. Julie from The Twinery will pick a winner (at random), and I’ll do the same for us at DeNami. You just never know where that winning comment will be from! Here’s a picture of what you can win:
Okay, now off to the next stop in the hop: Shannan Teubner’s blog! I hope you enjoyed the hop thus far- you only have two more stops left!
Have a wonderful rest of your Friday!

DeNami Birthday Sneak Peek!

Hi there!
Are you all ready for the last day of sneak peeks for the new DeNami release? It’s so hard to believe that the days are closing in! We are now just a day away from the full reveal and two days away from them being available on our website!

If you visited the DeNami blog this morning, you saw that we are highlighting our new birthday stamps. Oh my, these stamps are SO fun to use- I had a hard time putting them down! Good thing we have the Birthday Blog Hop coming up so I can pull these stamps out again soon. :)
This first card came together really easily. I knew I wanted to create a card showing how easy it is to use this cute little candle stamp. How fun would it be to create a whole sheet of patterned paper and color the candle all sorts of colors? Hmmm…may have to give that a try soon!

You may have noticed that I stamped the candles on top of one of the borders from the Basic Borders I stamps. This ensured that I would be able to keep the candles all straight and also added a little more detail to this card. :)
This next card makes me happy. I just love playing with our animal stamps, and “dressing” them up. How fun are those polka dot party hats on the Owl Trio? I wish they had some hats that cute in real life!

Have I mentioned that I’m utterly obsessed with the new chevron border from the Modern Borders I set? You can use bold colors or muted colors and this stamp always looks good!
My last card shows two of the images from the Ice Cream Shoppe I set. My mind is already racing from all of the cute tags, birthday banners/ decor, scrapbook pages and of course, cards I can create with this set.
{Be warned: you may see this set a lot in the next few months}
I just couldn’t resist adding glitter to this cupcake. I stamped the top on the Magenta cardstock, then used my Quickie Glue Pen and added Magenta glitter. Quick and easy with truly stellar results.
Okay, blog friends, that’s all for this post. Be sure to leave a comment for a possible chance at winning the giveaway below. {All the details of the giveaway can be found on the DeNami blog}
Don’t forget that the extremely talented Andrea and Wendy also have cards to share with you today. Be sure to head on over to their blogs!
Thanks for visiting today- I hope you enjoyed all the new stamps you saw in this post. See you tomorrow over on the DeNami blog for the full reveal and giveaway winners!

DeNami Borders Sneak Peek!

Hello and welcome to an exciting day of DeNami sneak peeks!
If you have come from the DeNami blog,  I’m so glad you stopped by. If you happen to be one of the sweet followers I have, thank you for your continued support of my blog. :)
Words cannot express how excited I am about this new release. Not only do we have cling stamps for the very first time, we also have some stamp sets that are AMAZING. For those who follow my blog, you know that I am a huge fan of background/ border stamps. Well, my dear friends, we have FIVE brand new border sets in this release. *squeal*
I have three cards to share, so let’s just jump right into them.
This first card not only highlights the new chevron border we have (which is from the Modern Borders I set), it also showcases the Window with Shutters, butterfly from Fancy Flutters and designs from the Spring Flowers I set

Like many of my cards, I couldn’t resist adding some glitter. Here I used the Amethyst glitter for the flower/ butterfly and the Citrone glitter for the stem/leaves.
This next card is one of my favorites from all the cards I created recently. It’s CAS and yet girly and cheery at the same time. I used two butterflies from the new Fancy Flutters set, the curly border is from the Decorative Borders I set, and I also used the new Get Well Soon sentiment.

Here’s a close-up of the glitter and twine I added to the card. These don’t take a whole lot of work, but they really take the card to the next level.
This last card features both old and new DeNami stamps together. I wanted to think of a creative way to use the scallops from the Simply Scallops Borders I set, so I played with several different options. After a few rejects, I came up with this card. Oh, how the Rainbow and those little fishes {from the Sea Friends stamp set} make me happy!
On the Rainbow I used Crystal Lacquer {to create the shine}, and then on the clouds I used a Quickie Glue Pen and Blue Ice glitter to make them glittery.
Now it wouldn’t be a release without a giveaway, right? You’ll definitely want to be sure you head to the DeNami blog for all those details.

In closing, I want to mention that the lovely Dana Seymour and Michele Gross have some inspiration featuring these new borders as well. Head over to their blogs to check them out.
Seeing the excitement you all have on the DeNami blog and DeNami Facebook page just warms my heart. We are a mere THREE days until they are available on our website. Thank you all for your continued support of DeNami; you all are awesome!
