Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks! Blog Hop
Today is a bittersweet day in paper crafts blog land. As many have probably heard, the doors to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine are closing. This magazine won my heart a few years ago with their creative ideas, innovative features and their editors and Go-to Gals hilarious personalities. To this day, I still haven’t met any of them, but I FEEL like I have with the coorespondance and interactions I’ve had with these dear, sweet gals.
Why did I say bittersweet? While I am still in shock of the news, I know that seeing this blog hop and all the love that went into the posts, projects, videos, etc.. will warm the hearts of the gals who made up PC&S. These lovely ladies inspired us, shared their talents and also pushed us to be more creative in our hobby. I hope that this blog hop will be a little virtual hug for each of them– oh and based on the amount of stops, they’ll be getting over 200 hugs! :)
*For those who are hopping along, you should be coming from Audrey Tokach’s blog.
One thing that stood out to me every time I opened a magazine was the amount of color packed in each issue. With that being said, I decided to go with a bright card that also happens to feature the stamps of one of the Go-To gals, Heather Campbell! I just love the Fabulous Florals set that she designed for Avery Elle.
For this card, I went to my current go-to layout, which has the Stitched Duo 1 die as the focal point. This tag is the perfect size for an A2 size card and you can create all sorts of fun scenes, bouquets and layouts with it. I went the route of creating a floral cluster in a variety of colors and then added the “hello darling” sentiment. To finish off the card, I added all three sizes of my Sparkling Clear sequins.
Your next stop in the hop is the Reverse Confetti blog. I’m sure Jen has something fun to share with you! You’re almost to the halfway mark, so now might be a good time to refill the coffee cup- I know there are some amazing projects ahead!
In closing, I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to each of the gals that made up PC&S. You inspired me to continue crafting (when I almost gave it up), to submit to publications and go outside my comfort zone, to find a balance between being trendy and finding my own style, to build friendships in the crafting community and most of all, to share paper crafts with those around me.
